I should clearly state that this is totally absurd and clearly haven't been heard of in any sound educational institution across the globe.

Before I pour out my total grievances against this institution, a brief introduction is necessary for those who are not familiar with the name.


LOCATION:

Western Delta University is located in Oghara, Delta State, Nigeria. It was established in 2007 and is a private university.

VISION:

The Vision of Western Delta University is to serve as a first rate institution committed to the pursuit of excellence in all areas of academic learning, technology development and social service

Normally, I would commend the above statement if not for the fact that my attention has just been drawn to the recent happenings within the school.

It has been confirmed by various sources that the school is quite fond of telling students whom the senate has approved their results, mobilized for nysc, given statement of result and call up letters that they have carryovers whenever they're coming to collect their transcript

My question here is where in the world has anyone heard of a situation such as this?

I mean back when I was about writing my finals,the rest of my course mates and I were made known about our academical standings prior to graduation in order not to gain false hopes on the said day.

One could only imagine that after all the celebrations and thanksgivings for being able to scale through a four or a five year programme without any bad experiences like the proverbial "Seeds falling by the way sides*, you are given the biggest shock of your life that your journey hasn't even ended and you are needed to complete whatever course you "might" not be owing or perhaps courses that has been waved/cleared earlier by the Senate Board.

Close sources has informed me that a student is even about to sue the university as I write this article.

The educational system in Nigeria shouldn't be this epileptic and the responsible bodies governing the University Organizations like the National Universities Commission should please wake up and put these "institutions" in check.

Please seun do justice to this matter. The world needs to know what's going on. Please my fellow nairalanders what do you think?

Correct me if am wrong however vital information reaching me from a reliable source argue that the present leadership in Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State of Nigeria is now calling up most pass out graduates of the institution who are now ambassadors of same citadel of learning in the secular world to come back and deal with their respective and individual spill over courses who in this case have their individual results approved by the brains of the institution Senate board councils, in the same vein they were equally mobilized for Nysc, thirdly, virtually every pass out graduates have been issue statement of result and among others. To shorten a long story in view of the above now in a space of two years interval most approved pass out graduates of the same high institution who recently went to the institution administrative site to secured their transcript were blatantly restricted from their legitimate valuable item on the ground that most of the pass out students presently in the Labour market according to the institution are claim to have left over courses to see to. Having said all this, the big question that runs through my mind at this point is why didn't the institution discovered this silly error before issuing out and approve final year students results and at the same time issue out statement of result to pass out graduates. Sincerely speaking, I don't want to sound ridiculous on this matter but personally for peace to reign I will vehemently advice the institution in their wisdom to please try and deal with their lapses because if my opinion is ask in this regard I will say emphatically that such abnormal and unusual subject matter is a capital negligence of duty on part and history of the institution. I don't want to believe the institution most of us pass out and proud of even to this very day was not wise and intelligent enough to meticulously run their academic administration. Great alumni let's join hands and say no to such emotional trauma which the institution we represent is currently fusing in the lives of their ambassadors. We hope the appropriate authority will read this and do something about it because I fear such reposive scenario will escalate beyond the ordinary if it linger . Let their be peace in western delta University, Oghara, Delta state, Nigeria.

Charles Taylor's atrocities is still being felt in Liberia today. Seriously there's sense in what this guy is saying. The North feels this country belongs to them and the South feel they're being exploited. I think the time has come for us to go back to the days of regional government or kindly go our separate ways. Not an advocate for separation but it's becoming too obvious by the day. This One Nigeria mantra is only favouring the Hausas/Fulanis and not the rest of the country. The world is becoming more aware and the Southern people are waking up from their slumber. You can't keep a group of people oppressed forever. One day they'll fight back and with the last drops of their blood. Call me a prophet of doom but they'll certainly be an uprising in the middle belt and the South against the Hausas/Fulanis. When that day comes they'll be outnumbered and will have no place to run. No one is saying Nnamdi Kanu is right in his approach on how he tried handling this whole Biafran issue but if the truth must be told the Self Determination is a right and not a crime. If a group of people feel that they're not comfortable living in the same country or if they feel they're been marginalised or if they feel their rights as human beings are not respected then the have a right to self determination. Pastor Ize Iyamu is a big time thief. He and Lucky igbinedion looted Edo state dry for 8yrs. He's being supposed by the igbinedion family to continue from where they stopped. If PDP really wants to win in Edo state then they should give the ticket to Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri. Failure to do so means that APC is retaining Edo state after Oshiomole's exit. It's either Solomon Iyobosa Edebiri or APC will continue from where they stopped.

Nigeria is already a divided country. It would be better if everyone goes his or her separate ways once and for all. PMB should please handle this Tompolo issue with extreme caution. I'm from South South and I can tell you the level of resentment we have for hausas and yorubas. Liberia, Sierra Leone and even the Biafran civil war will be very little compared to the type of war they'll break out this time. As we speak the youths are getting arms each day and it won't be long before a civil war breaks out. I don't pray for a civil war but if it happens so be it.
