For me, the fault was VAR's and not the ref (esp the Cubarsi and Ferran one). When you taken in fact that the VAR guys were also threatened, they likely caved in.

But by and large, I just liked the fact that we beat Madrid without penalties (so they can't really accuse nada). But the cost was an extra 30 mins for our tired boys.

Yes they were playing mindgames with the ref putting them and VAR on the spotlight, but even with all that, dem no reach.
