Using Garnacho to compare Lookman is a mismatch. Garnacho is an almost useless player with or without penalties. Now replace Garnacho with Amad in your example and tell me whether the Coach will tell Amad on live tv that he's the worst penalty taker he's ever seen and should not have taken the penalty.

You have been missing the point in all your comments. Yes, Lookman should have followed the penalty pecking order; Yes, fans have the right to be angry; Yes; his miss might have dampened their morale just as his goal must have lifted it moments earlier;

But those words should never have come from his Coach. They may come from fans but not the coach. Amorim would never do that to Amad. I have not seen a coach strongly criticize a key player for missing a penalty. Not to Pendu or Messi, Gyan, Suarez, Trezeguet, Jorginho and even Baggio himself.

Lukman has even scored penalties for Atalanta before. So it's not that it was overly outrageous for him to have considered taking it. Frankly, it's baffling for a Coach to hinge his team's poor performance on a missed penalty that was not a guarantee for a comeback.

Benzema was far from elite as at 2012/13 which is my cut off. Raul is definitely included check well.

Owen is a Ballon dor winner, so he's got a great record but has too many average seasons to be called elite.

Rooney's eliteness comes as a result of accumulated consistent growing impact over almost a decade rather than a stellar single season.

Crude oil is a mineral resource; VAT is a contribution from value adding business activities. Completely different things.

Proceeds from mineral resources are shared for the benefit of the entire country where the resource is sourced. This is global practice. In Nigeria all land with mineral resources is vested in the FG.

Oil from Alaska does not majorly benefit Alaska alone but the entire US.

However, an extra benefit is reserved for the location where the oil is gotten to cater for environmental impact of the activities. A 13% extra is reasonable in this light. 60% is outright ridiculous in light of current Nigerian laws and global best practices.

VAT is proportional to the level of business activities generated in a location. This is not a natural resource matter. So it is reasonable to allocate the majority to where the activities that resulted in people paying more tax came from. This is also global best practice.

There's no argument that he pays input tax but in the overall scheme of things, whatever input VAT he pays is recovered at the point of sale to end consumers. His payment is a prerequisite for production and profiteering. The primary source of VAT, whether input, output or net, is the end user.

Both of you kind of have a point. But I resonate more with the first comment because if Dangote did not create something of huge value that engages consumers to be paying VAT to him, there'd be no output VAT to remit to the Government.

The knowhow to make his cement and sugar products the most attractive to consumers is to Dangote's credit and that you should not downplay that.
