Well-done Silver, the story is so intriguing |
The reason that ailment has remained incurable is because a lot of cells die everyday while others get damaged from injury. Stem cell is an active line of replacement and repair of dead and worn out cells. *The discovery of stem cells has led to the cure of many degenerative, chronic illnesses as dead cells, tissues and organs can now be regenerated*. Hello wonderful people, I want to give you some things you should know about hypertension 1. Blood pressure is the force (or pressure) that blood exerts on arteries as it moves from the heart to othevpart of the body. So, Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure from its normal value 2. Normal blood pressure range of between 90/60mmHg - 120/80mmHg Hypertension affects all age groups (yes, there is juvenile hypertension). However, middle age (30 -55 years), older people and pregnant women are at higher risk 3. Main cause of hypertension is unknown but risk factors include * Diet high in salt, fat, cholesterol * Family history of hypertension * Overweight or obesity * Lack of physical activity * Use of drugs, alcohol or smoking * High levels of stress 5. Sometimes last year (2019), myself and my colleagues decided to get the Hepatitis Vaccine at the hospital. First dose was okay, less painful (I did "odeshi). Second dose was manageable (big girl) but the third dose .... I still feel the pain in my left arm. But it was worth it. An old adage says "prevention is better than cure". As health workers, we're more exposed to various kinds of disease or virus by needle stick injury, splash of body fluids and blood but what about You? Have you checked your risk of contacting Hepatitis B virus? Have you received Hepatitis vaccine? Here are a few things you should know; 1. Your liver is the largest organ (size of a football) and performs a lot of work including breakdown (metabolism) of food and drug, detoxify blood, store necessary vitamins and minerals 2. Hepatitis is an inflammation of the Liver caused by viruses (and/or alcoholism, allergic reaction, use of drugs) that damages the liver and disrupts it's work. 3. There are 5 types of viral hepatitis which are Hepatitis A, B, C, D & E but my focus today is Hepatitis B. 4. Hepatitis B is transmitted by contact with infected blood through sharing of needles (drug users) or sharp objects, unprotected sex with infected person, mother-to-child transmission during delivery. Hepatitis B Virus may go unnoticed (silent killer) until it becomes serious 5. Best form of prevention is by Vaccination. Hepatitis B vaccine stimulate your body to produce antibodies (body fighters) to protect you against the virus and reduce your chance if contacting the virus. 6. All Newborn babies should be given hepatitis vaccine which protects them till 20 years of age. However, children or adolescent (before 19 years) who missed the vaccine at birth can be vaccinated. Also, adults above age 20 should be vaccinated. 7. You'll be tested before given the vaccine (if negative). Hepatitis vaccine is usually given as a 2 or 3 shots over a 30 days period (1 month interval). 8. Early detection and prompt treatment of hepatitis b virus reduces risk of liver cancer and liver cirrhosis 9. Hepatitis B virus can be properly managed by adherence to treatment and lifestyle changes (avoid alcohol and use of illegal drugs) 10. Hepatitis vaccine is available in hospitals nearest to you. Greatzeus:He said attendant, not nurses. Moreover, please there's a difference between Nurses and quacks. Nurses spend years in school while quacks are trained in private hospitals Please sue the hospital OP maybe the number of quacks in Nigeria will reduce. Quacks are doing us more harm than good. Ensure the person treating you is a Registered Nurse not a quack. Ask for their license. Ask the school she went to |
Pls can I get the rest of the story. adepojutolu09@gmail.com. thank you |
nice tips, thanks |
Mr Ola is legit. Got my Ankara today. thanks and God bless |
Yes, OAU, university of Ibadan, Unilag, uniosun, Babcock, offers nursing and are accredited |
Firstly, there are two major ways of studying nursing in Nigeria; attending a certified school of nursing or nursing degree in the university. Becoming a nurse through private hospitals or a medical personnel training nurses is WRONG. It's called QUACKERY. It's better to become a nurse that society will be proud of |
Hello, I'm Adepoju Toluwalope (RN, rm in view). I created this thread for nurses to have a platform to discuss, share ideas and solve problems in the profession. Also, to help individuals aspiring to become nurses and change the society mindset about nurses No one is an island of knowledge. Whatever you know can help someone out of trouble. Nurses are great and caring |
