stop repeating this same line, this is what you all said about the separatist agitators in the east, don't you understand the structure that Nigeria run at the moment which is over centralized and put enormous power at Abuja?? Abuja owns and pays the state and has absolute power to decide who gets what. Abuja should liberate the states then people can channel their grievances to their governors
Are you just waking up to this or were you asleep when Jonathan was President?

You people's hypocrisy stinks! Six years no one wanted a change in the system of government, all of a sudden we want regional government.

Bunch of hypocrites!

Yes you are right, GEJ is from the Nigerdelta, and we can't say GEJ solved the nigerdelta problems, no he didn't, but atleast they felt compensated.
The truth is Nigeria isn't one, okay? The Hausas cant feed Nigeria while having their backyards in turmoil there would be anarchy.

Something needs to be done fast.
What was the compensation?

So your hatred is with the Hausas? Mind you there are over 200+ ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Let's allow peace to rein, those countries you are thinking of running will close their borders on you oo... I hope you watch international TV and saw what happened with the Syrians.

Know what you wish for, if you are not in Nigeria then forget about Nigeria and enjoy your eldorado, don't stay there to set fire on others.

If you're being honest, you would not compare the Nigerdelta region with your street in Lagos, they just aren't the same thing.
The Nigerian state lives off the Nigerdelta, without oil money from the Nigerdelta, the nigerian economy could very well collapse, without oil from the ND, the nation's budget cant be fully funded, without oil from the delta, almost all the 36 states of the federation wont be able to pay their civil service, your street in lagos isn't same with the Nigerdelta.
Ever since the discovery of oil in oloibiri, that region has being paying the price at the detriment of their ecosystems.
The Nigerian state lives off the nigerdelta like parasites, it isn't even symbiotic in nature, we take but we don't give that much back.
It would take a lot more than a determined state governor to fully rejuvenate the region, it would take a direct approach from the cash bank not a feeder.

Yes they receive derivations and allocations but no they can't control the explorations, taxations, resources, their lands and monitor explorations, the nigerian state controls all these not their various state Governors, so why wont the nigerian state accept full responsibility?

This system of governance is pure bullocks, its high time we go back to regionalism or the nigerian state wont be at peace, or go our seperate ways, that is the pristine truth.

Did you demand for regionalism or separation during former President Jonathan era.

All I see is hypocrisy!

Akwa Ibom has been receiving the highest allocation in the whole country, but the state is impoverished! Do I still blame President Buhari?

You guys should be honest! We live with these people and see the type of houses they build and the kind of cars they drive! We see people who had nothing yesterday but today are billionaires with no job and we applaud them. How did they get such wealth?

Think!

A very good question to ask op..

Those saying it's the system of government, during former President Good luck Jonathan, what type of system of government were we practising? It's unfortunate that a certain section of this country is used to crying each time.

Give Niger Delta states N1 trillion every month and nothing will change, the people are not progressive in thinking but docile and lazy and so they expext everything to be done for them.

Niger Delta leaders should answer to Niger Delta Avengers not FG!

[b]Well said.

The same misguided 'yoots' that were cheering when the creek rats were bombing Nigeria's infrastructure, thereby causing ALL Nigerians to suffer due to a reduced economic strength, are the ones now complaining now that their kinsmen are now on the direct receiving end of the consequences of the militants activities.

The foolishness of destroying their lands, rivers and economy seems locked away from them by the keys of immutable hatred for the President and other Nigerians. One wonders if apart from the direct environmental destruction that ONLY the Niger Deltans will suffer from the bombs, they will not also suffer the power outages, fuel shortages and other adverse economic effects ALONG with other Nigerians.

As for those Ibos involved and those cheering the criminals, be very aware that the last thing Buhari will do is interfere in Nnamdi Kanu's incarceration and trial. If you love bombs so much and believe in their efficacy, nothing demonstrates this better than blowing up FG infrastructure in the SE starting with the Niger Bridge. Those iPods are no different from sick minded Boko Haram members who are the only Nigerians in recent history to celebrate bombs deployed by militants to destroy Nigeria.

The bottom line remains that the FG cannot be blackmailed; especially not with violence. Instigators and their supporters/protectors will suffer the heavy consequence, it's absolute treason to try to overwhelm the President.

Farm! farm! farm! how many graduate can afford land. The place I know as my village, a plot of land is not less than 400k, how many tomatoes i'm I going to plant on a plot of land, what is the value of a basket of tomatoes in a normal market? What has the govt done to encourage farmers and make farming interesting? One interesting thing about Nigerians is that as soon as they notice a particular occupation is lucrative, no b u go tel dem. Govt should make agric sector lucrative and watch how oil is relengated. All these guys blaming youths are those bunch of unproductive population of govt workers whose connections rather than competense land them their job. Why woundn't you type poo if at 42, you stay wit ur sister in her matrimonial home.
Hey, relax it's okay. When productivity is mentioned, it's not about farming and besides there are different forms of farming, livestock and crop farming. There are other productive things also not just farming.

Are you sure youths will want to farm? In Nigeria, we have thick bushes everywhere... You can also partner with someone in farming if land in your vilage is expensive. No amount of wailing will produce a result that's the whole summary anyway. wink

I unearth his previous comment because the OP wanted to exonerate Buhari and his government. In his comment as I quoted, he complained about Akpkabio (then state governor) for not providing employment for the Akwa ibomites. If he could blame state government for unemployment, nothing stops him from blaming the government. BTW, the youths I see everyday are not lazy. We always say the youths to hide from providing facts. Look at your friends and tell me that none of them is not striving to survive. I have seen many young people, both girls and boys, going extra mile to earn a living. Government should provide a level playing ground by making power a bit stable so you will see the magical youths.
The so called magical youths are a tiny percentage. There are a lot of other business you don't really need light to do so waiting for constant power supply still amounts to the lazy attitude I am talking about.
Politics / Nigeria And Niger Delta: Which Way? by thomasthomas: 5:41am On May 29, 2016
I have noticed in recent times that some Nigerians are so excited that it seems that President Buhari has 'failed' and I ask are we such a wicked people who are happy that the country is not progressing just because we do not like the President? No sense of patriotism at all!

I am not surprised! Even in our different families, people are not always happy for the success of one another. People envy, jealous and hate a successful family member. People forget that if President Buhari fails, all of us in this country will suffer for it so why get excited? When President Buhari included the exploration of oil in the Chad Basin, it was as a result of some of these crises. I support him for that. When NDA finish blowing up oil installations and the IOCs move over to the North to continue production, it will be a good scenario to see oil producing states turn to states without oil production and other states now assume that position. I'm glad Lagos is now an oil producing state.

According to recent report, the self acclaimed freedom fighters have blown up a major pipeline thereby reducing Nigeria's oil production output to 800,000 barrels per day. People from a section of the country are happy but ironically, they are the ones complaining the most. I'm so disappointed how some Nigerians think.

The world is in economic crises due to certain factors and so NDA should know that they are worsening the the already bad economic crises. At the end, who suffers it? Thinking that pipeline vandalism will not happen in the proposed 'Niger Delta Republic' is to live in a fool's paradise. It has become a norm that whenever a certain section of the country is not happy with the FG especially Niger Delta, they go about blowing up oil pipelines. So it will still continue in the proposed republic.

Nigeria will not have money to pay salaries, pensions, embark on projects and even pay the ex militants. Is that what we wish for this country? The Niger Delta people are not known to be industrious as confirmed by Bayelsa state governor, Governor Dickson and so everything in the 'republic' will revolve around oil and when oil price is low like this, then there will be hunger and starvation as they won't be any free money.

II'll advise the FG to locate their multibillion naira project away from Niger Delta for now because it will amount to waste of resources if they get blown up by militants. Any progressive section of the country should get the projects, yes I do not mind!

I can not believe that somebody that said this would still come up to open a topic to abuse Nigerian youths in defence of his master. It is government job to provide jobs for its people. Buhari is not doing well. I hate it when people blame the youths for the problem they know nothing about. The company I work with advertised for job and I was surprised to see people that turned up. 78 people came for the interview while we needed 7 persons. The youths didn't start blaming government for unemployment under Buhari's regime, it has always been the tradition; and I enjoin you to absorb the heat.
In that argument, there was a context, there's no point trying to take things out of context.

I mentioned in the article that if one cannot get a job from government, Shell or Zenith Bank, you still need to be productive. Of course government has the responsible to provide jobs for her people but you still need to be productive rather than subscribe MB to go online and wail!

Government can't provide ALL the jobs, so one needs to be productive. The artisan: welders, carpenters are feeding themselves while graduates are updating pictures on Facebook and Instagram and crying for lack of job.

Argue within the context! smiley
Politics / The Failure And Laziness Of Nigerian Youths by thomasthomas: 6:18am On May 26, 2016
In recent times, I have observed that Nigerian youths are becoming more and more lazy! They graduate from school and hope to work in Shell or Zenith Bank and unfortunately since it doesn't seem to happen they now redirect their frustration by sitting behind the computer or type with their expensive phones and tablets on social media how things are bad in the country. Why did you go to school? Why not still be productive without the white collar job? In some courses, you can start off on your own without a paid employment.

It is rather usual that these group of people only consume without producing anything. They consume two cups of garri without planting one stem of cassava, they also sit in drinking parlours with pocket monies given to them by their benevolent Uncle and Aunty to eat chicken they do not even know how to raise and drink beer every evening. Go to beer parlours in the evening you see them there drinking and eating as if they are productive.

Today people complain about the price of tomatoes and blame it on President Buhari and I want to ask, is President Buhari the tomato farmer in this country? A lot of youths do not even care to ask why the price of tomatoes is high while that of onions is low? These are people with no reasoning because the smart youths instead of complaining are taking advantage of the situation to plant tomatoes while the lazy ones are on Facebook abusing President Buhari.

Wake up Nigerian youths, things are not working too well yes first of all because the oil price is low and Nigeria is not making so much profit selling oil at the current oil price, secondly the Niger Delta Avengers are worsening the situation by crumbling the little economy through vandalisation of oil pipelines and electricity installations which a section of the country are applauding. When did we get this wicked to support evil elments in their desteuction of properties?

You can be productive still, putting the blame on President Buhari for EVERYTHING shows laziness and lack of knowledge amd wisdom. Even in this economy people are still making money, good money!

If you are hungry and have a land but yet you don't farm, then you have yourself to blame and NOT President Buhari. How many Nigerian youths are raising chicken today? Very few.

Let the Youths of this country be productive and stop blaming the President for everything.

The picture of Spain playing with tomatoes is the result of HARDWORK. Most Nigerian youths are used to earning money without working. Things have changed, you now have to start working to make money. No more share the money.

I will like to borrow this post from a nairalander in another post:

This is what u get when a people prefer opening drinking bars to processing garri

When people prefer building hotels to greenhouses

When people prefer build estates than building factory to produce fruit concentrate

Nigerians una never see anything!

Thank you!

Will this make front page?

This list is a joke.
