Don't mind them! Nigerians are corrupt that's why! Most of their wealth is not from a legal source that's why they are all afraid!

Buhari said he was going to fight corruption and that's what he is doing!

yorubaa brain...hypocrisy. How did Buhari become a billionaire to own 4 billion worth of House in Abuja? How did Buhari afford to pay his children school fees in London worth over 50,000 pounds per a person per semester? How did Tinubu become a billionaire? Dull thing!
Is Buhari a billionaire? I didn't know that! Tell me more.

Do you know how many middle class parents in Nigeria whose children school abroad?

Your comparison shows you lack simple analysis. Studying abroad is no big deal!

Buhari will destroy this country. Wealthy Nigerians with perceived fear will start withdrawing their money and before you know it banks are out of cash. When ordinary folks like us come to withdraw our money, banks will start rationing withdrawals like Venezuela. Your ignorance stinks! How did Akpabio become a billionaire if not a trillionnaire?

Does he have an industry? What does he do for a living?

Please don't make that silly mistake of adding thieves to hardworking wealthy people. Why should anyone fear if your wealthy is clean and you can prove it?

PoliticsFear Of Efcc: Akpabio Withdraws N17.4 Billion From Zenith, Stanbic Ibtc And Gtb by thomasthomas(op): 7:34am On Jun 23, 2016
Barely 24 hours after news broke that the EFCC has frozen the personal account of Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, former Akwa Ibom State Governor and Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio who is currently being investigated by the EFCC over allegations of embezzlement of public funds and looting of over #2.7 trillion from the coffers of the Akwa Ibom State Government hurriedly withdrew #17.4 billion from his bank accounts.

The withdrawals were made simultaneously in Abuja, Lagos and Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital. The money were withdrawn from Akpabio’s account in Zenith, Stanbic IBTC and GTB. An aide of the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG) coordinated the Uyo withdrawal, an associate of the former Governor handled the Lagos withdrawals while a senior legislative aide at the office of the Senate Minority Leader took charge of the Abuja withdrawals. Investigation by our reporter reveals the withdrawals were done within a period of four hours.

Also, fear, panic, anxiety and apprehension was visible in Ukana, Akpabio’s ancestral hometown as an emergency meeting of Akpabio’s immediate family was summoned secretly on Tuesday night at the Ukana country home of Senator Akpabio, just hours upon receiving the news of the freezing of the bank account of the Governor of Ekiti State. Sources privy to the meeting confided in our reporter that the likelihood of the EFCC freezing the accounts of other members of the Akpabio dynasty was also discussed.

A visibly shaken family member was alleged to have faulted Akpabio’s call for the immunity clause to be extended to principal members of the National Assembly, insisting that apart from compelling the anti graft agencies to beam more searchlight on Akpabio, his advocacy is capable of instigating a more aggressive investigation on the finances of Akwa Ibom State from 2007-2015, especially coming at a time Akpabio’s former finance commissioner and colleague in the Senate, Senator Bassey Albert is also asking for amnesty to all who have looted the state treasury.

A cousin to the Senate Minority Leader who benefitted from several contracts running into billions of Naira when Akpabio was Governor was said to have been cold and sober all through the meeting and hurriedly cancelled his trip to Dubai. He was initially billed to travel to the emirate country with his family. The meeting which lasted for more than three hours was also attended by a regional manager of one of the new generation banks in Uyo.

It's what we were taught by our parents, going to school and getting employed by the government was how they succeeded. This is why some states used to be referred to as civil service states. Thing is, times have changed. Now those who started out on their own are making waves compared to those who went to school.
Wow... I'm so proud of you. I really like the way you reason.

What you said is actually true. The era of going to school to graduate and get a job is gone!

PoliticsRe: Correcting The Average Nigerians Mentality by thomasthomas: 7:26pm On Jun 22, 2016
You are very correct! An average Nigeria youth complains a lot and believes that he or she shouldn't do anything but wait to be spoon fed by the government.

In as much as the government has its own responsibilities, times have changed, the economy is growing tighter by the day so expecting goodies from the government is not what will happen soon.

I also think that youths because lazy because the last regime really gave out money to people for doing nothing and so most youths are not used to working for themselves rather they are used to be being given money for doing nothing, I mean nothing.

They are lots of millionaires from the last administration who got their millions from doing absolutely nothing as such youth is really against the FG fight against corruption, because they realise that they need to make refunds to the FG.

Good thinking Sir smiley

PoliticsRe: Reasons Governor Udom Emmanuel Will Dissolve LG Transition Committees (photo) by thomasthomas: 4:38am On Jun 19, 2016
Udom is a scam and an impostor, Akwa Ibom people did not vote for him!

Akwa Ibom is now a state with no direction yet instead of focusing to govern, he is all over the place with his sychophants spreading propaganda of industrialization.

The transition committee that are about to be sacked were very useless. All of them did nothing even to sweep the streets. The streets are now very dirty and most of them do not even go to work. They all relocated to Uyo from their Local Government Councils.

It's a shame that Akwa Ibom is part of a state that is looking for bailout, a state that used to get between N20bn - N30bn every month during the oil boom all thanks the trickster of uncommon transformation, Godswill Akpabio. He made most people in Nigeria to believe that Akwa Ibom was 'okay', so what suddenly happened?

Another set of compensation on the way because the new council charimen will still do nothing!

I like this topic. Hope it will challenge and inspire our youths into getting into farming. Enough of excuses. Just do it. Look for land (inherited land from village, rent or buy) and plant food. Like many other things, the current high cost of food item is a function of local supply versus demand.
For prices to crash, supply needs to go up. Be part of the solution.
Thank you for your observation. I wish the mods will get the thread to front page.

I see miles and miles of uncultivated lands even in the villages. At a time like this, if we have more food supply then the hardship would have been much lighter.

Let's be industrious guys, those countries we are expecting food from are very industrious before they can feed our large population and making money too from our being lazy.

Let's start eating healthy foods with preservatives smiley

Anyhoo, central bank handles the money or any finances that belongs to government all over the world.
except special banks funded by government for financial or AIDs purposes. Like the Islamic banks in some countries or government owned micro finance banks.
Private banks run on money from public not government all over the world..
That's why banks will start begging you to come and collect loans in well oorganized society with very low interest rate unlike Nigeria where banks don't even give a crap about customers and would rather loan money to politicians than smes.

Its simple, and all these stories is not needed. Central bank suppose to run on government money cost its government bank while private banks suppose to run the private sector and not turn to another CBN.
If a bank cannot survive without government money, it should fold up. Simple.
Seriously, you been go school and you been dey attend lectures and also dey lisyten to your lecturers.

Good boy!

Bank will now have to reduce their interest rate and lend money to businesses because free government money is not here again. grin cheesy

LG are appointed by governors today.
They only conduct election 6 months to passing out after 2nd term. And new governor Will sack them and appoint his own ppl so they don't control any budget. State claim they're administering projects on their behalf.

So unless you are appointed and you have ambition most lga chairmen Just chop dia own and Hope they are ''promoted '' like wike that was made minister and is now governor.

Sad but hopefully we Will change these anomalies
If the LGAs get their allocations straight to their coffers from FG, elections to the councils will be interesting and good candidates will contest and development can really be micro managed at that level.

We need more farmers to give us more food instead of crying about the high price of imported food!
