You have a point with regard to age of planes....

Some will argue age is of no real consequence AS LONG as it is properly maintained....

I'm sure you noticed the problem in the last sentence - PROPERLY MAINTAINED!

The reason the Big airlines let go of their planes as they age is the cost in terms of money and logistics of maintaining planes as they age through A, B and especially C and D checks...

but our Naija peepo say dem fit maintain wetin oyinbo say e too cost to maintain angry

Why have we sold ourselves to foolishness in this country.

We are industriously foolish, conscientiously indolent! When will we TRULY change direction?

Rains fall EVERY year in season, children need to go to school safely and comfortably IN the rains, is it possible? YES

....but politicians will continue to divert development funds and many of us UNLOOK and rationalise the nonsense because

He is OUR TRIBE, He is OUR SON, He is PAYING ME MONEY, He is OUR CHURCH / MOSQUE MEMBER.....

Nigeria WILL NEVER change like this.

Rationalising utter mediocrity for personal gain.

NIGERIA CAN EXPERIENCE RADICAL DEVELOPMENTAL CHANGE

IF! IF! IF! We are sincere!

GOOD QUESTION

It would seem that some are uncomfortable at the prospect of Ports outside of Lagos.

Less Federal control of imports and exports

More development to the other locations

However, I suspect there is some responsibility on the Governor's in these areas to champion the cause which they are not living up to...

It says here that the decline is due in part to the inability of the authorities to dredge the channels

http://allafrica.com/stories/200907160305.html

Dredging of Calabar and Warri are ONLY JUST set to commence

We are very fortunate as you have pointed out, some may argue that it is the lack of environmental challenge that has caused us to be indolent

With Cities like Lagos, Kano, Ibadan and Portharcourt, Do we have Waste water treatment Plants Like these?

Where does all the waste water and sewage go considering

1. We don't have sewer systems
2. We make do with boreholes a lot

Are we drinking our poo?

Buhari is Kakistocracy personified

Quota system means balance in recruitment of the best from all parts of the Nation NOT an excuse to appoint your kinsman, tribesman, church or mosque or traditionalist man (or woman). In a multi-ethnic Nation like Nigeria proper representation is key but proper MUST BE COMPETENT!

We as a people and Nation DESPERATELY NEED TO change the CALIBRE & COMPLEXION of politicians that we have!

True (and lasting) reform can ONLY come when you have VISIONARY and to a large extent SELFLESS leaders.

The leaders historically and currently offered up at Party Primaries and who win through money induced indirect voting WILL NOT change the Status Quo.

Hooks Law states that their is a limit to elasticity/expansion, at some point there WILL BE a breakdown.

Things CANNOT continue like this!

We NEED VISIONARY SELFLESS LEADERS

Unfortunately in Kaduna there were STILL invalid VOTES in spite of using the electronic voting system

Electronic voting is NOT an INFALLIBLE system which is why the question of cost benefit arises

http://time.com/4599886/detroit-voting-machine-failures-were-widespread-on-election-day/

There are ongoing debates as to the utility and security of electronic voting in advanced countries, this does not however negate the whole system.

The game changer may be block chain authenticated votes!

Now if Mr El-Rufai had brought that, Ehen now were talking....

So they should bring all the machines and keep in front of you to copy out the total votes cast abi?

Or they told you that the machine came with an inbuilt printer to print the result ba?

Have small sense. This machine is just for voting and it does not have internet connectivity to make the results totally shareable.
1. If the machine is just for voting then what is the cost benefit?

2. If there is no Internet connectivity and the results are not totally shareable where is the security of data?

I'm assuming you know what an electronic voting machine was invented for?

I laugh in Grass Cutter grin

As I recall most people were happy you were overthrown (imagine that)

"The nation’s meager resources are once again being wasted on unproductive ventures. Government has distanced itself from the people and the yearnings and aspirations of the people as constantly reflected in the media have been ignored.

This is because a few people have arrogated to themselves the right to make the decisions for the larger part of the ruling body. All these events have shown that the present composition of our country’s leadership cannot, therefore, justify its continued occupation of that position."
