rolams:Don't be surprised. The complexity is not the same, albeit, the security forces of Nigeria should be ready for all complexities Theirs was a kidnap by local criminals that may even have been tipped off to commit the crime by domestic aides or relatives or political opponents, unlike a kidnap effected by a full-fledged terrorist group known as fulani bandits, who hide their victims in the forest. |
Certainly not fulani herdsmen cum terrorists. These are local riff-raffs who wanted to score some fast cash. The government need to overhaul the security and legal sytem of this country, as every criminal mind now seem to know what I have long observed about Nigeria - that our security and safety only exist by luck and not by any strategic planning. The mediocre Nigeria Police has still not evolved beyond these culprits escaping with gun shot wounds without police giving chase to capture or neutralize? |
We might fault Atiku for his political greed, but we cannot claim he suffers from Obiphobia - the fear of political contest, especially party primaries. |
Great! A new dawn for Arsenal. |
Bendeco02:Apart from tue fact that it was widely reported all over the news as an outcome of the negotiations in the PDP leading up to the PDP primaries and never refuted by the President and any of his media team or government officials, Jonathan himself referenced it in the buildup to that 2011 presidential election. Till today, Jonathan has never denied that he agreed to do only 1 term. Except you were a kid then would you even think this is worthy of a debate. This is not just news headlines, there are instances of his own quoted words like the Reuters news report. Or you want to debate with his quoted words? https://www.reuters.com/article/world/africa/nigeria-president-says-hes-seeking-only-single-term-idUSLDE7101TW/

Age of consent in most latin American countrues us 15 or 14. What is acceptable where he is from is a crime in the UK. Just checked and he is from Spain where the age of consent is 16. Then he must be very goolish to have replied that he did not mind being with a 15yr old when he knows the implication of that even in his own country. |
kinzd:Did you see INEC complete the national tallying earlier in the day and then wait till 4am to announce the result. Sometimes we should be employing our commonense. |
aswani:Very Disappionted. Like someone said, he has not built grassroot support and he is hoping that a bandwagon effect will get him elected. |
Grass Cutter! He carelessly spoke himself out of any meaningful political relevance during the last election cycle. One thing I am certain is that no sane Nigerians would remove the Tinubu regime just to have an Atiku regime. |
Tinubuofemmanu:Why is the old birthday celebration record useless, but a newspaper that wrongly detailed the age of a Politician they were interviewing not about his age, then become the valid proof of age? |
So because a newspaper made a mistake in properly determining the age of a politician that was being interviewed not about his age, then the mistake must become reality? Did Tinubu celebrate his birthday the next year or the year after that and any one celebrated his age as 53yrs or 54yrs respectively? Did Ovation Magazine wrongly recognizing Emegwali as Professor in their 2002 interview, ever changed the reality that the inventor was never a Professor?
|
Ofunaofu:How come Tinubu celebrated 60yrs in 2012, but Sahara Reporters was helping him to celebrate 69yrs? |
Is it Sahara Reporters that will decide for Bola Tinubu the age he celebrated in 2012? Many educated Nigerians behave like they do not have anything in their head. What age was Tinubu celebrating for all of his years as Governor? Did he celebrate 64yrs in 2007 which was his last birthday as Governor for him to have been celebrating 69yrs in 2012 according to Sahara Reporters? Politics should not make us senseless. |
ambale:Is poorly run not part of having N137m budgeted for all the 36 NTA capital stations in the country? Is that not a valid concern for which the government must be chastised? You want results but you don't have funding. Better wake up. |
UrVillageChief:Mai gaskiya can never the accused of theft or enrichment from public office. Same cannot be said of the one whose name is all over the Pandora disclosures and hid wealth under his daughter's name. |
I hope the US economy has jobs for them and the expatriate lifestyle they were living in the UAE, Qatsr, Kuwait, and Saudi? |
Agugbadin:That is quite obvious. The environment commissioner should also inform us where the public toilets are located in Inner Marina that these citizens refused to use. I am the last to convince that if your provide a feather bed in a cosy apartment for the masses, they would elect to sleep under a bridge. |
UrVillageChief:That is the delusion that Ibechris and his fellow clansmen suffer. Just that we still have all the evidence of how Peter Obi was denounced as a failure and mediocre administrator by the same Igbo clansmen who later propped him up as the messiah. |
Amumaigwe:I have asked a simple question, would the ethnoreligious diversity that feeds the peculiar insecurities we have in Nigeria be eradicated by an election going the way of any of the candidates on the ballot? This is not an overdrive, this is taking a position that does not follow the lazy mental capacity of the bandwagon. A certain region voted 89% for a candidate who was native to that region. Worry about that before worrying about who Abba supported. Many people voted in Kenya for the government of the day only to come out to the etreets months later to defy that government and its policies. I wonder why the election did not solve all the problems of Kenya? |
Gerundphrase:This is as foolish as saying competent leaders would eradicate homicides/murder in a nation. So all the keaders of the world battling with terrorism in their respective nations are incompetent? Nigeria already has the enthnoreligious heterogenuity that is a main cause of the insecurity/terrorism that bedevils the country. |
We do not know what medical condition the child suffered from before he was refrerred from Atlantis to Euracare. Euracare were not actually required to provide any care, except to prep the patient for his international travel where the needed care will be provided by Johns Hopkins Hospital. What might be damning for Euracare is if there was an overdose of the propofol used for the anesthesia and also if the necessary mitigation/remedial services that might be required if things go south were not handy. It's very sad to lose a child, a little one for that matter who depends on the parents to take the right decision. So I understand why the parents need to take this up to ensure that whoever is complicit is adequately punished and removed from access to other children who require them to be at their professional best. |
Kushites:You don't even need to delve deep and far. From the budget, only N1.5b is for capital projects out of which 137m is for studio equipment for all of the state capital stations (36 NTA Stations). That is a mockery. Yet, just seeing the annual budget of N21.3b, Nigerians will call it a waste of funds without seeing how it sums up and how each expenditure is very out of touch with modern pricing realities. However, some Ogas at the top will still attempt to corner something out of nothing. |
princeade86:While I am surprised that a studio could look like that, then I am no longer surprised when a paltry N137m is for studio equipment for states capital stations in the whole country. Ask yourself if N137m is enough for even 1 state capital station? It means every state capital station of NTA must depend on their own share of the N137m to procure or upgrade existing studio. Hence why you have such obvious makeshift studio. That is nonsense. Will the government commit more money to such when it is yet to better fund Healthcare and other infrastructural projects? No! The respective states NTA stations should pursue IGR from its advert slots and programme slots. |
weslay:What is the correlation between election and the fact that a corper was abducted by terrorists? What political party would have stopped terrorism that the past PDP and the cirrent APC in government have not stopped since 2010 when all this mess began? Would election stop the ethnoreligious persuasions that feed the inclination towards a life of terrorism? |
As a leader, learn to do what you need to do if you are convinced it is the right action, and not worry about lamentations from the opposition. If they find their way to power, they will go through with the same policies for which they are challenging you. |
Reza Pahlavi will probably return in what will be a reinstatement of the Shah dynasty, but only as a constitutional monarchy that oversees a democratic Iran. Good can result from evil eliminating another evil. But evil persist in this world. |
You spend money to investigate and extradite a fraudster and you are giving him only 6yrs? Useless human specie wey you for knack 30yrs so that his life will be totally useless afterwards. Waste of justice. I have never seen jungle justice being meted out to cyberfraudsters or any fraudster for that matter, but you dare steal onions in the market and you may roast for it. |
If indeed El Rufai already got a reply, why did he publicise his enquiry but did not publicise the reply? That alone highlights the deliberate cunning of a rablerouser. |
Soludo is the kind of strong commonsense leader that is needed in Igboland. |
Peter Obi has finally accepted what I have always known. A public servant that can domicile state funds in the same bank where he was a former board chairman, and then refuse to spend the money so that the bank can continue to transact private business and make profit while the people of Anambra are kept waiting for infrastructural development, is truly a wicked and visionless man. When he was moved to spend big money, he spent public funds on a Brewery that he had a stake in its ownership. This is the same scoundrel that is being whitewashed by the same Igbos who condemned his many failings as a mediocre Governor. Tufiakwaaaa! |
The blasts were felt all the way to the Oko-Oba/Abule-Egba axis of Lagos. Mum concluded it was a military coup that Sunday evening, until news filtered in late in the night that it was the amoury at the Cantonment that was exploding. Some schoolmates of mine got to school late the next day that was Monday and had passed through the Army Cantonment and picked up some bullets to show the rest of us in school at Maryland. After school that Monday, some of us decided to explore the Ikeja Cantonment and saw many bullets and other piece parts of weapons scattered around. Very risky adventure that our parents never knew about. |
What APC cannot destroy doesn't exist
