These are the best two regions in the country, which is more developed.

In the South East we have 5 states and in the South West we have 6 states but excluding Lagos we have 5.

And as we all know, if not for the for Federal input into Lagos by virtue of its erstwhile status as the Nation's capital, the oil input from the South South and the commercial input by the south easterners, Lagos would be another Ilorin.

So for these 2 reasons and for the purpose of better comparison we will exclude Lagos and compare 5 vs 5

In southwest, we have 5 states
Ogun
Oyo
Ondo
Ekiti
Osun.

In south south, we have 5 states
Anambra state
Abia state
Ebonyi state
Imo state
Enugu state

Ogun vs Anambra State.. Anambra state wins
Oyo vs Abia.. abia win
Ondo vs Imo.. Imo state wins
Ekiti vs Ebonyi state.. Ebonyi state wins
Osun vs Enugu state.. Enugu state wins..

I compared the best states in each Regions to look which is more developed.

The south east wins 5 in 5 of them. only Lagos is saving southwest, if federalism is practiced in Nigeria, Lagos would not be better than Anambra

Lagos > Rivers. Ikwerre people are the problem of Rivers. If not.

Delta > Ogun. By a wide margin if we are being honest

Bayelsa = Ekiti. Two local places. Pot and kettle

Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River >> Ondo, Oyo, Osun respectively

My own issue is that yoruba think that they are so smart that they can con everybody.

In 2015, they connived and and schemed and brought an inept nepotistic incompetent jihadist dictator into just because they couldnt bear to let other Nigerian Southern tribes shine for 4 years. A prominent yoruba monarch threatened Igbos with drowning in the lagoon and the South South were called all manner of names. The political advantage the South enjoyed and which if was allowed a few more years to gain maturity would have helped in tackling the religious and political lopsidedness we are facing today, was snatched away for the greater south by ewedu stained hands. Middle beltters were being killed daily by fulani herders but yoruba people would die there defending fulani jihadists as long as theie beithee aas vice president anything goes.

In 2019 -2022, sensing the way the fulanis had started relegating their jagaban to the background, sensing the fact that other fulani men had presidential ambitions too and woyld not just lay down and allow tinubu get the presidential tick, yoruba have suddenly become pro-south. The have started propagating the southern unity BS in a bid to rally the south to do their bidding since they know they alone cant face fulani. That is why when the South East governors dont attemd that your BS Southern governors forum, its because they know your motives and they are unwilling to be pawns in your game.

Making reference to the Tofa and Abiola election in which most of us here werent even born then or old enough to vote. Let me remind you that as recently as 1998 and 2003, Igbo voted Obasanjo, a yoruba man, massively over Alex Ekweme and even Ojukwu.

All these places you mentioned to have a dialect closer to central Igbo are all in Ebonyi South Senatorial district (they were all under Abia state)
