There are no ways, you immigration officers are really corrupt. You want to be pocketing the extra 30k. Maitama portal is not down, someone followed that route last week. Leave people alone to make their choice and stop advertising corruption and thievery here.

Are you sure you are not one of those immigration officers. If anyone wants to go through Maitama, it is the person's choice and it doesn't require any useless agent to help. The reason being that you will still pay about N30k extra and collect it in few hours.

Not necessarily true. I travelled for many years using my maiden name on my passport and never had any issue. If travelling with your kids, you just need a copy of your marriage certificate in case they ask. I only changed it for other reasons.

Did you go through what I wrote or you want to start your own? I said to avoid unnecessary questions. Imagine yourself in a scenario you forgot your marriage certificate and you are called aside for questioning. Please go through people`s comment before mentioning them.

Good evening house. Please I applied for international passport for my kids and I today. (DIY) I used their father's surname while I used mine (though legally married). The officer refused to clear my kids starting I'm suppose to back the application with our marriage certificate ( which I didn't go with) and he frowned at the fact that I didn't include my husband's name. He even advised I pay again and start afresh thereby including my husband's name... Told me how it may pose a threat should we decide to travel as a family or should I decide to travel alone with my kids. I got confused and even left him with the files, promising to come back tomorrow with a decision of wether to start afresh or continue with the application. Please I'm so disturbed and still confused. Please advice please

It is not a must that you must answer your husband`s surname on your passport but it is essential, to avoid unnecessary " JAMB" questions (lolz) at airports especially Nigeria airports. Those immigration officers are another set of thieves, they are worst than those you see at passport office, Lagos own is worst.

Maybe it's a recent development, when I was applying last week it was there. I selected Maitama in my first application, I was about paying when I changed my mind because of the extra 30k and the passport for me is not urgent.

when? The option is still there when applying. Why should NIS close a centre and the option is there in the website?

mine was ppt office gwas, strictly DIY. Applied last week, submitted documents today and captured. Now waiting for my booklet. If you are in urgent need of the passport, reapply and go for maitama(56k)

I just made my renewal application online and paid successfully but was given May 2022 for capturing or something. I really need the passport in less than 2 week what can I possibly do. My choice of office is Abuja headquarter

I wish you went through this thread earlier, you would have seen people with similar issue and you won't have chosen NIS HQ. You would have gone for gwas. I applied yesterday and was given nxt week appointment.

When you were filling the form, you would have used Passport office Gwas. I just applied and I was slated for 17th. I think the best thing is to visit their office ASAP.

Too many evil people in Nigeria. Even the nurses are evil. The last time I went to a govt hospital, if you see the way they delayed me. As soon as I got the first aid and I was relieved, I ran to a specialist same day in another region. Very evil nurses. And the doctors arent loyal. They arent patient in the govt hospitals because they are rushing to "cut jobs" in private hospitals. Always in hurry. So, you wait endlessly for them cos they are always late, while the nurses keep bullying you. And finally when they majestically arrive, they rush you seriously while the nurses and matrons even bully you more. Very terrible set of humans. They actually made me hate the medical professions. I do not even have anytning inside me to encourage anyone I know to study or practise any medical profession in this nation called Nigeria. If you come from abroad, you are on your own. Better you do not come. I that used to encourage you to visit Naija is telling you to keep off if you value your life. I have told you the truth oooooo. Keep off! Buzz off!! Run away from Nigeria.
