This case has earlier been decided, and the court decision was that he is qualified to contest though he had not shown any interest then that he was contesting. Our constitution knew that an holder of the office may die, resign or impeached and provided that his deputy or vice take over when and if any of the above happens. |
CriticalThought:.....and beam it live to international audience. Buhari will not debate. It will damage already damaged reputation. |
Buhari will not debate simple. I have said it here several times, he has a lot to cover up. You would have noticed that he reads prepared speach these days and cant be allowed to consult his image consultants before answering any live debate questions. This town hall meeting was an afterthought because the first excuse given was that there was possibility of baise from the organiser. When a more independent bodies agreed to organise the debate, see another maradona excuse. Like I earlier said, it will be too late before many of you screaming change realise that you have entered one chance. |
Whenever anybody says anything against the government he is justified but when it is against the North and its interest, he is heating up the polity. This same Sultan was the one saying Killing Boko haram is a reduction of Muslims population and GEJ should dialogue with them. I warned Doyin and Co to tell GEJ to be weary of the advise he takes from Northerners. With the way Jonathan is been stoned openly now in the North, we understand why his government was made ungovernable. |
Why the attack? Was Seun observation right or wrong? Simple! Dont know why people leaves substance and face shadow. Why was his mic not switched on for all to hear what he was saying? Bros provide the answer or reason if you know but if not, then allow others that know to comment. |
The last time I checked my law books, truth is one of the defence of libel and defamation. The best place to seek redress is competent court. By the way, who will sanction Channels TV for the APC documentary against GEJ? |
I have said it before now, Buhari will never debate. A lot has been exposed about him and his handlers do not want to use the debate to cause more damage. No matter what we say here, he will never debate. You remember his disrespectful statement "go to court and remain there". Buhari has no regard for anybody. |
killuminati:This is 2015, he was acting in 2011, now he is the President and ready now to debate to debunk all APC propaganda. Do you have any problem with that? |
NgeneUkwenu:Madam read the topic of this thread, don't derail it, more so, this is the opportunity APC have to confront PDP openly on these allegations. So debates or accept you have nothing to offer the Nigeria of 2015. |
barcanista:I have always respected and admired your opinions especially when it comes to research of serious national issue but I am surprised at this your comment. It may be Buhari now but I am very sure from your antecedent that if it was GEJ that his qualification is questionable, this wont be your comment, you would have researched it and exposed him with facts. In as much as we want change, we should not build it on falsehood. |
barcanista:The INEC that conducts the election is not an agency of the government and yet he is participating The Police that has been guarding him since he started his campaign is not an agency of the government The SSS providing security for him does not belong to the same government When his party placed their adverts on AIT, NTA, they did not remember they are government's agency and friend I smell hypocrisy.. |
agabusta:I agree with you but unfortunately, these elements have the support of the 'power bloc and retired Generals" who are not happy with GEJ with his refusal to take order or instructions from them. They are the problems of Nigeria. You will agree that Jonathan had changed Army Chiefs severally just to get results. Appointed non Hausa as NSA (Aziza Patrick) and Ihejirika as Army head. You will agree with me also that there was result that some cabal in the North Threatened to report Ihejirika to ICJ, guess you still remember Nyako's famous memo and Sultan statement that Army are reducing the population of Muslims. Buhari's statement too was not boosting the moral of the soldiers. Remember that the Security heads are all Northerners (NSA, Army Chief, IG of Police etc). Unless BH is the creation of the Northern oligarchy, all hands must be on deck to defeat this monsters. |
Buhari will not go. Quote me. He was running away from his shadow. A lot has been exposed this time around unlike 2011 where his party was hidden in the North but now, he has aligned with the South west, the headquarters of knowledge and exposure. |
Clerverly:This is not love but mockery, he was carrying the picture of Buhari in his military uniform. Saying "make una see where Buhari destroy my life". Just kidding! |
And if ballot boxes are snatched, people beaten and killed, the same people will blame Jonathan again that he conducted the worst election in the history of Nigeria. So far, all the elections conducted with the deployment of soldiers have been free and fair and so adjudged by people that meant well for the country. I think the opposition are afraid of something.... time will tell. Moreso, how did this judge ignore the issue of locus standi on the part of the plaintiff? I smell something will all these frivolous judgements... |
All can now see why UMBRELLA is better than BROOM. |
I thought some people claimed that AIT documentary is a propaganda. This is a testimony from a man who witnessed it all. Before some people realise that the change they promised them is BACKWARDNESS, 4 years is wasted. Reason with your heads not with emotions. |
DesChyko:The problems we are having in this country are caused and promoted by these Power Bloc. I was listening to IBB on Straight Talk this week on Channels tv and the lady asked IBB what his regret was, IBB said his regret was that he did not insert 2 parties system into our constitution. He further boasted that like they inserted Land Use Act into the constitution and that there is nothing anybody can do to change it but to work around it. When I heard these, I now understand why several National Conferences were not able to amend the constitution. They consciously inserted lower educational qualifications to accommodate them, since most of them did not go to school. The sin of Jonathan in my view is his affront to challenge the status squo and refuse to take instructions and directions from them. They believe the destiny of this country is in their hands. They laid the foundation of these problems GEJ is facing, imagine IBB did not entrench corruption, imagine OBJ, BUHARI, etc equipped the army, imagine they have diversify our economics, imagine they developed and improved our infrastructures (NEPA, ROADS etc), imagine they created jobs, then you will agree with me that Jonathan will have little or nothing to do. But the truth is that out of about 55 years of Nigeria self rules, these people ruled for about 49 years and what foundation have they laid? |
Let us assume and conceed that AIT and NTA are pro Jonathan, how would that affect a live debate? Is it that they are going to score the participants and Buhari is afraid of failure? Is it that whenever a question is thrown at him, AIT will broadcast a different answer from his response? Are they going to ask the candidates different questions? I think the reason for the boycott does not make sense to me. I told my wife that the reason why APC boycotted the first debate last week was to prepare ground for Buhari's absence. Let TVC or LTV Lagos organise another, let us see if he will still come. I doubt it bc this is 2015 unlike 2011 when there was no certificate saga and other controversies surrounding his candidature. |
itetemi:Let me explain what you dont know to you. Those letters are already in their system. The only thing they change is the addresses and the Owners' names. To further help you, I will scan copies from previous years to you. I dont know what to tell you again since you have made up your mind but please take note that everybody is not fraudulent as you suggested. I have also attached the recent Land Use Charge notice itself to clear your doubt, take special notice of "Date of First Notice". I am sure with this, you will still complain and if you do, I cant help you further.
|
ilugunboy:Find below some of the notices I received for my clients. You will also notice that the contents of the letters are not the same but signed by the same person. Please permit me to cover the names and addresses of my clients to protect their identities. You understand, I guess? client - lawyer relationship. CC itetemi Aspireahead Mynd44

Mynd44:I talked as a professional. The letter comes with the demand notice for 2015 Land Use Charge. They usually put it in the envelope of people that are not owing previous ones. The demands by law is supposed to be issued by January every year but because of circulation, they started distributing it on time. Please Bros, believe whatever you want, it is a free world, I may scan some I have received to you when I get to the office. |
itetemi:They usually write it like that because they don't know when the notices or the letter will get to the recipient. They conveniently put last day in January bc it is a January of the year notice. Some may not get the letter or notice until February or March. I have received about three notices for 2015 Land Use Charge already for some of the houses I manage. This was about a week ago. |
Mynd44:And in your mind, it is JayKay Pharmaceutical that is contesting for the governorship seat? Read Agbaje's response again. As a private person, he has paid his taxes and was commended for it. |
Don't think this account belongs to her. I smell impersonation here. She has deleted her account because of shame. Simple. |
orinocopulse:Hope when and if Judiciary/courts disqualify GMB, you will still maintain that Judiciary is neutral? |
ilugunboy:Fashola did not tell us that he has not paid his Personal Income Tax or remitted his staff Pay As You earn Tax or pay the Other statutory Taxes to Federal Inland revenue. He only complained about the Land Use Charge (It is a charge the owner of the property pays on the land annually). The question we should first answer is who owns the building JayKay Pharmaceutical operates? Is it Agbaje or owned by another person on lease or rented? It is possible also that the charge is contested as I have contested many issued to some of my clients because if Agbaje could pay his other taxes to the state, the Land Use Charge can't be a problem. More importantly, Fashola should rather tell us how much the state is paying Alphabeta, the Tinubu/Osinbajo consultancy company collecting the tax, somebody said, it is up to 6 billion naira monthly and when are they handing over to the staff of Lagos state they have trained? |
ajaniade004:May God bless your memory, if the people below 35 or 37 years are doubting the documentary on AIT, some of us should not because they are events that happened and could be verified. I remember then in Ogun State when Diya was the Military Administrator how people were dragged on the floors and beaten for not been able to produce their tax clearance (iwe ori or iwe Diya). You will be flogged or given corporal punishment for any act of indiscipline. Soldiers everywhere with Koboko. |
ajaniade004:Why should we believe your positions either? Tell us your age and the sources of your rebuttal. These events happened over 30 years ago and I witnessed some of them. |
APC and INEC were telling us before that PDP or anybody can go to court to challenge Buhari Certificate and now APC is now telling us that PDP wants to use court to stop election. It is the constitutional right of any Nigerian to go to court to sue Buhari for perjury and that is the spirit of the amended Electoral Act, the issue of locus standi has been taken care of. Buhari should just apply to WAEC or Cambridge to release his WAEC. Simple! Even at that, he has to amend his forms with INEC and withdraw his fraudulent affidavits. |
The All Progressives Congress said having failed to convince Nigerians to accept the postponement of the February elections, the Peoples Democratic Party had set in motion plans to shift the polls by ensuring that the APC presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was disqualified. The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said this in a statement on Tuesday. It said the case instituted at a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, seeking a declaration that Buhari lacked the requisite qualification to contest the February 14 presidential election, was the first in a series of court cases to be instituted just so that the elections would not hold. The statement partly read, “We are not surprised at this, because these desperadoes are so predictable. They are following the footsteps of the infamous Association for Better Nigeria which helped to annul the 1993 elections and which threw Nigeria into a crisis from which it has yet to fully recover, over 20 years later. ‘’We can only appeal to the judiciary not to become a willing tool in the hands of those who will stop at nothing to scuttle the elections, just to perpetuate their firm grip on power.” The party said President Goodluck Jonathan was aware that if the elections went ahead as scheduled, he would lose to Buhari by a landslide. It said the threats issued by those close to Jonathan that they would not accept the outcome of the election, should Jonathan lose, was evidence that the President was not prepared for transparent elections. It said, “An ally of presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, has revealed that President Jonathan will rather have the military takeover than hand over to the APC candidate. Although Okupe has made a tepid denial, the revelation has exposed the thinking and the desperation within the Presidency, ahead of the elections. ‘’We are also aware that up till this moment, the President has yet to repudiate the ex-militants in the Niger Delta who have threatened the country’s very existence if he is not re-elected, as if elections are won by fiat. When this is added to ongoing moves to depopulate the North-East, which is an opposition stronghold, using scare tactics, one can see that this Presidency and the PDP are as terrified and desperate as they can be.” The party urged the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, to advise Jonathan and his aides not to abuse the courts or use it as a tool to truncate democracy, as this could throw the country into chaos. http://www.punchng.com/news/pdp-plans-to-use-court-to-stop-polls/ |
