vivacious01: I can't remember any dancing when his Government was toppled except from the families of corrupt politicians. One of the reasons I want Buhari back is just for him to deal with corrupt politicians, thats if he can do that as a democratically elected President, but I am very sure corruption will be addressed as a matter of urgency, haba! Bros wake up. How will he do that? Arrest people, parade them on TV and hand them over to the corrupt judge who will strike out the case like Ibori case. Obasanjo did it but as at today none of the people he persecuted is in jail. This is democracy, he doesn't have that kind of power to jail people at will again. We can only achieve more success and growth when we build development around institutions not individuals like previous leaders. GEJ is building the destroyed institutions and abandoned development. No more business as usual. |

I was young too but old enough to remember all that happened. You will also remember that people celebrated more when he was toppled by Babangida. I just pray the same thing will not be repeated if he wins this time because of this mob request for change even when it is obvious that Buhari has nothing to offer. GEJ may not have performed as expected but asking for GMB to replace him is asking for backwardness. |
Politics › Election: Can Denies N7bn Bribery Allegation by thunder74(op): 9:43am On Feb 21, 2015*. Modified: 10:10am On Feb 21, 2015 |
The Christian Association of Nigeria has denied the allegation that its leaders were offered N7bn by the Presidency to campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election.
The association also called on security agencies to investigate the Voice of Northern Christian Movement and its Executive Director, Mr. Musa Dikwa, for making the allegation.
The association also linked the allegation to those using different Christian organisations to perpetrate fraud.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the General Secretary of CAN, Dr. Musa Asake, the association said the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), had fallen into wrong hands, “because his endorsement for the March 28 general election by Northern Christian Leaders Eagle-Eye Forum led by one Aminchi Habu was fraudulent.”
The statement read, “We are therefore calling on security agencies to investigate the activities of the Voice of Northern Christian Movement and Musa Dikwa himself to unravel the N7bn mystery which is intended by their sponsors to throw the country into serious crisis.
“For the avoidance of doubt, CAN has no knowledge of any N7bn transaction as alleged by Musa Dikwa who claims to be the Executive Director of a non-existent group, Voice of Northern Christian Movement.
“CAN is not a political party, let alone getting involved in partisan politics. Christians who are members of CAN belong to different political parties. It is therefore surprising to hear that CAN is campaigning for one candidate.
“Revered men of God including the CAN President, Pastors Ayo Oritsejafor; Bishop David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel and Pastor Bosun Emmanuel (Secretary-General of National Christian Elders Forum) are too upright to be linked with any such deal.”

Rawani: If anyone is alleging sabotage, Nigerians know in which direction to look. Afterall the only confirmed case is of a PDP Chieftain in Edo state who was caught with 500 PVC's just yesterday. I also hope you realise that any diverted PVC is useless as only the owner can be accredited by the card reader? As it is useless to the person buying so also it is useless to the owner. One guy came to my office on his way from Council and was with about 8 PVC he picked for others and I asked how? and why? and he said once you identify anybody, the Inec staff will ask you to sign for it without collecting even your particulars. The question is what if the person did not give it to the owners or e.g if I identify Omenka PVC and I know he will vote for Apc, I may withhold it till after election. That is minus one vote for Apc and when he gets to Inec office they will tell him that somebody has collected it for him. Who? They don't know. That is what I termed human interference. |

2undexy: what do u mean by 'PDP's strong base'? It is obvious that 7 out of 10 Igbo men will still vote for GEJ despite the propaganda, 1 for GMB while 2 will abstain for business reasons. How also do you explain a situation where most southerners that registered in the north migrated bc of fear of violence? Yet can't vote where they ran to. The election can't be free and fair |
Politics › Re: PDP Sues INEC Over Voters Register by thunder74(m): 7:04am On Feb 19, 2015 |
Rawani: Kindly explain what you mean by that allegation. Governors and community leaders in areas with low collection should encourage their citizens to go and queue for their cards. Northern Governors have been declaring public holidays in their respective states, which has enabled the voters to not bother about missing their work or businesses and focus on collection. Southern authorities can borrow a leaf. Lagos, Ogun, Osun declared holidays and yet Ogun has 40% collections. Human interference is a challenge. You get to INEC in Oshodi local government for example and you said my name is Okechukwu Chukwudi, the staff pretends to look for it for a while and come back to say "sorry your card is not here, check Ajao Estate or come back later or fill this incident form". While you are still there, another came and said my name is Kasali Ayorinde, Morufu Ganiyu, or Babatunde Tinubu and within seconds they all have their PVC. Somebody somewhere is frustrating the collection. Or what do you say about the Rivers PVC allegedly diverted to Gombe or Taraba? |

With all this crap going on it is safe to say, they are already giving tambuwal an advantage in the forth coming elections... Guess you read the bolded part of the story too. There are many ambitious politicians in APC and soon the graveyard silence in all their selections will soon collapse. The card reader is good and will curb rigging if PVC is distributed to all that registered. A member of our church just left my office now that they could not find his PVC and observed that this happened to mostly Igbo as about 75% of people given in his presence were Yorubas. If you looked at the distribution chat as published by Punch today, you will observe that some states in the north has over 90% collection while Ogun State has just 40% distribution. If inec could step up the distribution, then card reader all the way but if not, the election is rigged already in favour of whoever the North supports. |

Under his watch, PDP lost Tambuwal, the House Of Reps Speaker & also lost 5 sitting governors to the opposition APC. Now, as it stands, no muslim in d west or north will want to vote for jona, while christians will want to vote for apc cos of d pastor guy. D plan failed wen he used bakare. Dragging pastors and using dem so as to split christians votes while his muslim guys will vote solely for him. It baffles me dat south west apc thugs led by tinubu wants to betray selling dem birthrite to d north cos of power, buh I thank God many groups are beginning to deny him. As for me, I hve not seen any of my muslim friends supporting GEJ and have a lot of my christian friends supporting both of them. We should stop deceiving ourselves, the election and support are based on religion, ethnicity and sentiments only few on objectivity. If most muslim here are to say the truth, they will agree with the poster. Even Tinubu will not naturally support GMB If not that they need him religiously to deliver the votes from the North.
