airmark: That's a product of a league system that showed how Leicester subsequently fell off and some other strong teams lost the steam towards the end of the season and doesn't have anything to do with VVD.
With VVD starting the season, Liverpool finished 1st or 2nd while without him last season they dropped to 3rd with highest number of matches lost and goals conceded. Your guess is as good as mine. It is more important to check the number of losses Liverpool had in the league with him and without him.
With VVD 1 loss in 5 matches.
Without VVD - 8 losses in 37 matches
Coupled with the fact that Liverpool never lost up to 9 matches in a league season since VVD joined and only happened when he injured.
I don't need to beg a Professor of Mathematics to conclude for you. So, Lilbros.
Resist the urge... Na simple question I ask. I expect simple answer. Where was Liverpool when VVD got injured and where did they finished the league? Again, resist the urge.... |

airmark: VVD never lost a league match at Anfield and Liverpool lost consecutively in his absence. That alone is enough to remove your cap and spank your stubborn head. No need wasting my precious time digging deep. To show how important VVD is to the team, tell us where Liverpool was in the table immediately he got injured and let us compare it with their position at the end of the league. |

Ibime: He played DM and CM comfortably but not rightback. Ronaldo washed him in that UCL final in 2008 at RB. Joe Cole actually handled Ronaldo better one on one, but everytime he faced Essien, Essien couldn't anticipate which way he would go. Ronaldo is being Ronaldo. Even Ashley Cole finds it hard facing Ronaldo then. Aside Ronaldo, Essien did very well in the RB position. You can argue that his going forward in RB is limited, but defensively, he handled the position well. |

swiz123: Essien was more efficient as a box to box midfielder but I must agree he can play DM too. But you see that CB and RB, they are crap. Ask yourself how Essien would compare to other great CBs and RBs if Chelsea chose to keep him at that position permanently
Essien wasn't signed because of those positions even though we were grateful he could put in a reasonable performance there.
Now, my arguement is, signing a player because he is versatile is nonsense. You sign a top player to come and replace someone straight away at the position he is the best at. No player can play all many positions equally well. Ok |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 8:52am On Jul 29, 2021 |
swiz123: Ridiculous!! Essien only played comfortably as a CM. Azpi played LB because Filipe Luis decided to be unfortunate but how does Azpi compare against other renowned LBs? Azpi playing LB posed an inherent structural problem no matter how you want to see it...
James Milner became a confused player when he become too poor to lock down a specific position for himself. Being a make-shift player is not what any serious player should be looking out for Essien played DM, CM, and RB comfortably for us. I don't know if you watched him play for us because if you do, you won't say he played comfortably ONLY in CM. The reason why Azpi changed positions is not the issue. The issue is, did he perform well in those positions? Bro, I don't have time for this right now please. Believe what you feel like. You have the right. Versatility is an advantage not crap. |

swiz123: At last, what I have been waiting for
Is Azpi's position so messed up that we need a replacement that we don't have in James and Christensen; the latter arguably better than Kounde?
This to me is a foolish signing cos a position we desperately need a good player is RWB. A player who can also play in a back 4. Spinazola can easily play this position due to his flair and energy. My first choice would have been Hakimi but we sadly let him slip away from us. Spinazzola is a left sided player. If TT decides to play 433, do you know that James is the only RB we have right now? Azpi is becoming slow for the RB position. That is where Kounde's versatility comes in. TT is the coach. He knows why he wants which players. |

Nice to see the yellow away jersey back.
Reminds me of our yellow away 2009/10 season under Anchelotti. My best yellow so far.
Nike tried in this one.

swiz123: Havertz was touted to play many positions.... This informed Lampard's decision to play him out of position. I don't believe in that versatility crap. I can't celebrate you for being jack of all trade and master of none like O'shea..
Tell me a position he is extremely good at and we will judge him based on that. For every Havertz you show me, I will show you Essien and Azpi. I don't want to even mention James Milner. What make some players invaluable to their team is their versatility. Milner might not be the first name in Liverpool teamsheet, but when an emergency cover is needed in any position, Klopp knows who to call on. Which position will you judge Azpi on? He started as RB, played consistently as LB and now playing RCB/RWB.... Has he performed poorly in any of the positions? Being versatile is not 'crap'. Stop throwing words anyhow. Learn how to use them. |

In as much as CB is not a position we desperately need right now, I can understand why the club is going for Kounde. Even using Zouma to get the deal done.
Kounde is versatile. He plays CB (can play RCB in a 3 man defence) and RB....And he can play RWB too.
Zouma can't give us these options. I'm a fan of Zouma and will be sad to see him go. But in a swap deal with Kounde, it's a good deal. |

raumdeuter: Neymar is a great guy
Neymar has revealed some of what was said, paying tribute to his former Barcelona teammate with an emotional post on Instagram.
"Losing hurts me and it's something I still haven't learned to live with," he started.
"Yesterday, when I lost, I went to give a hug to the greatest and best I have ever seen play in football history, my friend and brother Messi. I was sad and I joked to him 'you son of a bitch, you've beaten me!'
"I'm very sad to have lost, but this guy is awesome! I have great respect for what he has done for football and especially for me.
"I hate to lose! But enjoy your title. Football was waiting for you for that moment! Congratulations brother." I'm wondering why it's okay for Neymar to laugh and joke with an opponent after losing a FINAL but Hazard gets bashed for laughing with former teammates after losing a semi final... Double standards if you ask me. |

rationalmind: The plates suggests the vehicle was bought in 20218 except he bought the vehicle with the plates.
I have seen quite a number of accidents especially when I used to travel a lot but I have never seen a vehicle with that level of damage from an accident.
I suspect the guy was driving in excess of 150km/hr, had a suspension/tire failure and hit the truck.
And I don't know why these trucks are left on the road for so long when they break down. There was one that broke down at St John's recently, spent almost one week on the road. Another one broke down at the new KFC in woji Road and was there for another one week.
This is where I expect to see Wikes taskforce in action and not harassing bus and taxi drivers.
I doubt Lastma will allow this in Lagos It's so sad and annoying at the same time. Few months ago, that's how a pencil light Camry rammed into/under a flat bed long trailer that spoiled in the middle of the road just in front of Oil Mill market. Half the windscreen up to the roof of the Camry went totally off. I don't know if the driver survived. Something needs to be done seriously about all these trucks. |

BlueMann: For anyone who cares, there is an app I usually make use of in streaming matches. It's called Live football TV. Though the quality might not be very top notch, but it's still very okay and if you have good network connection, it will hardly lag. With good network, I can watch for like 45mins and it will lag only twice or three times. The app is available on play store.
Otherwise you can use twitter links - I mostly make use of BR Goals, albeit I think you first have to follow them. Other links can still be found by simply searching the hashtag of the match on twitter, and reading through tweets.
The last resort for me is hesgoal. I don't think this one has ever let me down. But naim dey chop data pass, so if you have data to burn then you can use hesgoal.
Otherwise, the app is your best bet.
Cheers. The bolded is how I get my links. Mobdro was my first choice for a long while till it started messing up big time. |
