Its so unfortunate that nigeriams today cant think without sentiments. Everybody is throwing insults at the president yet we forget that constitutionally the local government and state government are more responsible for grass root development. But you can be rest assured that after president Jonathan leaves office and another man comes into power then you will realize the value of president Goodluck. |

Lagos – A Ghanaian, who was charged with theft of motorcycle spare parts valued N550,000, on Monday urinated in court when a two-count of offence of conspiracy and stealing was read to him. Mohammed Daniel, 34, whose address is unknown, sells pastries (puff-puff). The edgy accused urinated on the floor of the Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court as he was docked. Daniel immediately pleaded guilty to the charges. Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Iyobosa Onaiwu said the offences were committed on March 25 at 12.15 p.m. at No. 23, Coate St., Ebute Meta. She said the accused went into the shop of one Mr Silva Chinemadu and stole the spare parts. Onaiwu noted that the offences contravened Section 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. The accused may be sentenced to three years imprisonment, if convicted, under Section 285, while conspiracy attracts a two- year jail term. The Magistrate, Mr F. J. Adefioye, adjourned the case to May 6 for fact and sentence. (NAN) |

Sports / FIFA Honorary President,havelange, Resigns by Timcy01(m): 3:33pm On Apr 30, 2013 |
ZURICH (AFP) – Joao Havelange has resigned as honorary FIFA president over claims that he had accepted bribes, world football’s governing body announced on Tuesday. Havelange stood down after being targeted in the findings of an Ethics Committee set up by FIFA to investigate a scandal involving the now bankrupt Swiss-based marketing agency ISL and World Cup television rights. The Brazilian’s conduct was described as “morally and ethically reproachable” in the report into the affair headed by the head of the committee, Hans- Joachim Eckert. Havelange, now 96 and in poor health, is alleged to have taken improper payments during his time serving as FIFA’s seventh president between 1974 and 1998. His successor, Sepp Blatter, is said to have known about one payment to ISL destined for Havelange of 1.5 million Swiss francs ($1.6 million), with the report concluding that Blatter’s conduct was “clumsy” but not “criminal”. Blatter welcomed the report’s findings. “I have taken note of the report from the chairman of the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, Hans-Joachim Eckert, regarding the examination of the ISL case,” Blatter said in a statement. “I note in particular that, in his conclusions, chairman Eckert states that ‘the ISL case is concluded for the Ethics Committee’ and that ‘no further proceedings related to the ISL matter are warranted against any other football official’. “I also note with satisfaction that this report confirms that ‘President Blatter’s conduct could not be classified in any way as misconduct with regard to any ethics rules’. “I have no doubt that FIFA, thanks to the governance reform process that I proposed, now has the mechanisms and means to ensure that such an issue, which has caused untold damage to the reputation of our institution, does not happen again.” |

Celebrities / Why I Chose Hinduism Overchristianity- Biola Ige by Timcy01(m): 7:34am On Jan 04, 2013 |
Biola Ige is an epitome of beauty. She joined the industry about four years ago and already she has become one of the most- sought- after actresses in Nollywood. Recently, she suffered a terrible growth of her thyroid gland that affected her neck, tongue, complexion and ultimately her budding career. Then, it looked as if, all was over for her. But with divine intervention, she was flown to India where an operation was successfully carried out on her. And today, Biola can live to retell her story. In this interview, she talks about the operation, the rumoured controversy between Tonto Dikeh and her new-found faith- Hinduism. Enjoy! How did you become an actress? I have always wanted to be an actress since I was a child. Then, I wanted to star in Hollywood movies because my dad was a movie person. As a child, I had the opportunity to watch all the hit movies produced in Hollywood alongside my elder brother. My dad also supported my dream, but he wanted me to travel to America after my studies. Unfortunately, when I completed my secondary education, my dad was not as wealthy as he used to be. He couldn’t send me to America again as he promised. As a result, there was nothing I could do. Like I said earlier, I fell in love with acting, but l wanted to act in Hollywood. When it didn’t work out because of lack of finance, l moved to Lagos after my University education. I went for auditions in Lagos and landed my first role in “Blindfold” produced by OJ Productions. How many movies have you done to date? Acquiring experience in whatever job you are doing is very vital and my experience has helped me star in more than fifty movies and I am still counting. Yes, I have been in the industry for about four years. I am proud of my achievement. I would have starred in more than fifty movies now, if not because of my sickness that took me to India. I am back in the country though lam not looking the same again. I am grateful to God for giving me my life back. Which role has been the most challenging in your career? The most challenging role for me was the one I played in the movie “Blackmail”. In that movie, l played the role of a model who married a rich man. Complications set in when the model’s old flame showed up as an employee in the company owned by her husband. And the situation became more complex when she fell again for the old flame who was already married to another woman. The intiruges at play were very challenging. Which of your movies has been most financially rewarding and how much did you rake in from it ? The monetary compensation is good, but it is not the most important thing when it comes to growing in your craft. Yes, l was rewarded for some of my jobs, but l cannot tell how much was given to me. I remember, “Blackmail”, Grand Player”, “Shakira”, “Darkest Link” and “My Fantansy”, were quite rewarding. Is it true that you went to India to undergo an operation? Well, I was very sick at some point in my acting career. I ran different tests because l didn’t know what was wrong with me. The test results showed I had thyroid problem. So, I travelled to India for treatment as well as to worship. I am sure people would think I went there for spiritual powers.I am sorry to disappoint you guys because I am not that kind of person. What do you mean, you had a thyroid problem? Having a thyroid problem is a grave disorder and illness. It is as a result of the expansion of the neck. It occurs when your thyroid gland over works itself or under works itself because of lack of the nutrient known as iodine. When you said to worship, what do you mean by that? It was an avenue for me to worship my God and yes, l worship as an Hindu. I know what you may want to say. I do not see anything wrong with following any religion of your choice. It is a free world. And I choose Hinduism. What is your view of women who do body-enhancing jobs? It is all about choice, so if you don’t feel good about your body and you have the money to do body makeover surgery, then do it with joy. As for me, I am good with the body God gave me. If a man doesn’t like me the way l am then he is on his own. But my only advice is that you should love yourself the way you are, there is nothing wrong with the body God gave you. What would attract you to a man? The way l carry myself is unique, but you can never tell what these men see in the ladies that attract them! Moreover, we all have something that should attract different men as the case maybe. Most men see things we don’t even know we possess. So, I would leave that to the men to decide what they see in me. Did you become an Hindu when you travelled to India or while you were in Nigeria? I was a Hinduist before I travelled to India. I was a Christian before I changed my faith and I must tell you I have found peace in Hinduism. And in India, I felt at home. I didn’t feel like returning to Nigeria again because everyone was so nice to me. What is the controversy between Tonto Dike and yourself? When I was sick, there were a lot of stories flying here and there that Tonto Dike was responsible for my sickness. But l didn’t believe it because we were not even friends before I fell sick. And why would Tonto Dike want to harm me when she has made a name for herself? Are you in a relationship? I don’t have time for that at the moment. I have just returned from a long break of illness and l need to make up in my career for the time I have lost. When are we hearing the wedding bells for you? Marriage comes naturally in the course of living and meeting people. I am not in a hurry to tie the knots. In fact, I am taking another three years to grow myself before thinking about marriage. Some of your female colleagues are getting married to married men. Would you marry a married man? When I am in a relationship, it takes my whole being and life. So if I am in love, l fall hopelessly in love, hence l cannot see myself loving another woman’s husband. I cannot share my man at all with any woman as I do not share my love. Who are those people you admire in the industry? I admire everyone I have worked with and my colleagues in the industry. I cannot actually mention one person as being more special to me. They are all different and special in their own ways. Before you take up a role what do you consider first? I picture the role and character in my mind’s eyes and how it is going to play out. I also consider what people would say when they see the movie and the character I played. If it will boost my image then the role is mine, if it is not good for me then l leave it. Do you have any regret since choosing acting as a career? I regretted not having my usual childish yearnings. I hate it when people discuss you, when they don’t even know you to guide their judgment. I hate that l cannot join the regular bus, but l don’t care what people say when l park to buy my regular roasted plantain known as boli. When it comes to that l don’t care what people say again! Tell us a little about your childhood? My childhood was awesome! I was a kid who loved to play football when I was growing up with my siblings. We went swimming in the river, climbing mango trees to pluck mangoes and all that. I was a tomboy while growing up, I never did girls stuff at all. Are you related to the popular late Bola Ige family? No. It is just a case of name sakes; late Bola Ige was from Oyo state, while l hail from Osun state. Which part of your body do you consider sexiest? Most people would say they prefer my boobs, shape and all that, but to me, I prefer my eyes. They are the mirror to my soul. Nollywood is really evolving, with more sensual scenes. Would you take a role that involves you having sex on set? I won’t describe it as having sex because it is drama- a make- believe world; hence everything done is not real. I would describe it as pretending to have sex. And yes I have done that in many movies, but they were never real. How do you describe Nollywood love-making scene? Nollywood love-making scenes are not like Hollywood where boobs and bums are exposed. In Africa, it is not in our tradition to do stuffs like that; hence the producers, directors and actors themselves are careful how they interprete such roles. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/01/why-i-chose-hinduism-over-christianity-biola-ige/ |
Politics / First Plane Crash Site In Nigeriato Be Made Tourist Centre by Timcy01(m): 7:14pm On Dec 19, 2012 |
Ikogosi-Ekiti, (Ekiti) – The location in Ikogosi in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti where the first plane crash was recorded in 1942, is to be converted to tourist centre. The Special Adviser to the state Governor on Tourism Development, Mr. Segun Ologunleko, who inspected the crash site on Wednesday in Ikogosi-Ekiti, said the decision was to turn the state into attractive tourism destination in West Africa. The Ikogosi town is also famous for being the home to warm and cold water co-existing together on the same spot. He said government’s determination to make the state a place where people could visit and see the relics of the airplane would complement the appeal of the warm spring in the area. Speaking on the crashed plane, one of the elders of the Community, who claimed to be an eye witness to the incident, Pa. Olu Adeniyi, recalled that the plane crashed on April 12, 1942 at about 8.15 p.m. According to him, it was a war plane that contained arms and ammunition, including explosives that went off with loud bang throughout the night. Visible at the site, were the relics of the two engines of the plane and other aluminium and metal materials. Politics / Security Beefed Up At Azazi’slagos Home… As Soldiers Chaseout Journalists by Timcy01(m): 1:21pm On Dec 19, 2012 |
Security situation at the Ikoyi, Lagos home of the former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Owoye Azazi, who died in a helicopter crash in Bayelsa State on Saturday was yesterday beefed up as stern looking soldiers barred access to the house. Even journalists from various media organisations were turned back by the soldiers and security operatives. Some of the journalists reported as early as 9.00 a.m. waiting for ‘clearance’ to take pictures and interview dignitaries who visited to pay condolence to the bereaved family but around 11.00a.m., a plain-clothe security personnel asked them to leave. The soldiers who claimed to be acting on instructions from above, threatened to deal with any of the journalists who either took photographs or conducted interview with any visitor to the house. Among the dignitaries sighted before the development were top military officers, both serving and retired such as General Gold Eburu, Group Capt Disu, Colonel CP Izuorgu, among others. It has been reported that the ill- fated helicopter, in which the former governor of Kaduna state, Patrick Yakowa, a former National Security Adviser, Owoye Azazi, and four others, were traveling in, burst into flames, before plunging into the creeks. The chopper is owned by the Nigerian Navy and was said to have been shuttling repeatedly between Port Harcourt, Yenogoa and Okoroba, the town where an aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Oronto Douglas, was burying his father over the weekend. The governor and the former Security chief, were on their way to Port Harcourt, en- route Abuja. Multiple reports say the carrier wobbled shortly after it stabilized in air and then plummeted into the swamps around 2.30pm. There seems to be no end to insinuations that there was more to Saturday’s crash than meets the eyes. The Federal Government has however begun investigation into the crash. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/security-beefed-up-at-azazis-lagos-home-as-soldiers-chase-out-journalists/ |
Politics / Traffic Gridlock As Jonathan Attends RCCG Convention by Timcy01(m): 11:57pm On Dec 14, 2012 |
Hundreds of commuters in Lagos, Friday, groaned for hours in traffic snarl on the Lagos-Ibandan expressway following the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Congress. Commuters were stranded at different Bus Stops for several hours, as security officers attached to the President closed the roads from the Marina axis to the Lagos- Ibadan expressway. Speaking to Vanguard, Mr. Adewale Adekoya, a motorist, lamented, that ” I closed from work early today but to my surprise, I was told that I cannot make use of the road now because the President I elected into office want to pass. This is appalling.” Adekoya explained “I have been in this traffic for hours and due to this, I am hungry here now because I did not eat at work hoping to get home early and eat.” Vanguard observed that the right side of the road was closed completely to resist the movement of motorist and commuters for the president to have easy passage thereby causing the traffic gridlock on the roads. Some of the roads visited by Vanguard were: Lagos Island through Lagos – Ibadan Expressway to Lateef Jakande Road, Nurudeen Olowopopo, Amara Olu and Ogunnusi roads, among others. Visit to these roads by Vanguard, further revealed that there was long queue of vehicles which ran into adjoining streets and highways. As this traffic snarl increases, commuters who could not bear the stress of waiting at the Bus Stops for vehicle resorted to an endless trekking because the vehicles were trapped in a ‘bumper-to-bumper’ traffic. Mr. Simeon Anthony, a commuter, said “I had no option than to trek because I cannot say when the traffic would subside. And for me, I cannot wait at the Bus Stop for a commercial bus that I do not know when it would arrive.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/traffic-gridlock-as-jonathan-attends-rccg-convention/ 2 Likes |
Politics / N10M Ransom Paid For Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother - Vanguard by Timcy01(m): 8:57pm On Dec 14, 2012 |
How Okonjo-Iweala’s mother was released…N10m ransom paid SIX days after a 10-man kidnap gang seized Professor Mabel Kamene Titi Okonjo, mother of the Minister of Finance, Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, at Ogwashi-Ukwu, Delta State, the 82-year-old retired professor of sociology, University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka, was released, Friday morning, by her kidnappers in Benin City, Edo State, after collecting between N10 to N11 million ransom. Suspect arrested A young boy, suspected to have been used by the kidnappers as a “sacrificial lamb” to lead the old woman to safety after the ransom was delivered to them on Saturday, has been arrested by security agents to help in their investigations on the identity of the hostage takers. Prof Okonjo flown to Abuja Professor Kamene Okonjo was shepherded to her Ogwashi-Uku home by security agents, who kept the information secret. Journalists, who mounted siege in the country home of the Okonjos waiting for her to be brought home did not know that she was already inside until about 1.56 pm when they noticed movement in some the compound. It was only then they found out that she had come back. Unlike December 9 when she was forcefully taken away, she was quietly led, yesterday, from the house, to enter a vehicle for the airport, evidently on her way to Abuja, to reunite with her daughter, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The chartered flight that took her Abuja from Asaba Airport departed at about 2.29 pm. Her son, Onyema, accompanied her. Soldiers, Police and Customs officials prevented photographers from taking pictures throughout. Prof Kamene Okonjo mother of Minister of Finance, Prof. Okonjo-Iweala It was gathered that because of the situation at home, her husband and monarch of Ogwashi-Uku, Obi Chukwuka Okonjo Agbogidi, who travelled 24 hours before the queen mother was abducted, was advised not to return home yet. As it is, security would be beefed up in the palace and security agents, including soldiers deployed to the palace before the monarch would return to Ogwashi-Uku, a family source confided in Saturday Vanguard. Jonathan, Okonjo-Iweala thank Uduaghan Her elated daughter, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, reportedly called Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State to thank him for his immense support towards the release of her mother. Saturday Vanguard also gathered President Goodluck Jonathan was alerted as soon as Prof Okonjo was released, Friday morning. A source said President Jonathan was also happy with the news and commended the governor for a job well done. Negotiation for Professor Okonjo’s release was carried out by her son, Prince Onyema Okonjo, who spoke various times with the kidnappers on phone between Sunday, December 9, when she was snatched and Friday morning. Security agents monitored part of the negotiation with the kidnappers, but could not trace their exact location until ransom was paid. ……. Vanguard confirmed if the security agents were put in confidence in the payment of ransom to the kidnappers, but it was obvious that they were not, as the ransom was dropped and coolly collected by the hostage takers. Finally, between N10 m – N11 million ransom paid Our source was not emphatic on the amount paid, but he said, “Between N10 million and N15 million was paid as ransom” We gathered that it was after the kidnappers satisfied themselves that the Okonjos kept to their side of the bargain that they released the family’s matriarch on Friday morning in Benin City. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/how-okonjo-iwealas-mother-was-released-n10m-ransom-paid/ 2 Likes |
Politics / There Is More To Boko Haram Than Seen by Timcy01(m): 10:56am On Dec 11, 2012 |
Borno State has in recent years been in the throes of crisis. In the midst of the security crisis, Governor Kashim Shettima seems to carry on as usual with the art of governance aiming to deliver democracy dividends to the populace. The State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Inuwa Bwala in an interview explains how the governor is carrying about. Excerpts: H OW do you think the Federal Government can intervene to ameliorate the insecurity in the state? I have always maintained that itis wrong to isolate Borno as the worst case scenario in this crisis. Until we look at it as a national palaver, capable of affecting any part of the country, and where every Nigerian is a potential victim, we will be missing the point. It may have started from our axis, our people may have been most affected, and it may have lingered on for too long; again the frequency of incidents may be more, but even these indicators are not enough to warrant the often exaggerated reports we receive. We shall get out of it. We have a sensitive, responsive and responsible Government which shares in the anguish of our people. We see the problem more as our own problem than it is of the people, because we have personal attachments to the people. At every turn, we have always voiced out our concerns over theloss of innocent souls in the crisis. We have always come outto sympathize with victims, even as we often provide palliatives to some. His Excellency, the Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima is personally pained with the situation we find ourselves in. He has often been moved to tears, anytime he reviews the situation. The man has been so emotionally attached to the plight of the people, that he defies his own personal security to visit sites and victims of the crisis. As Government officials, we know we are also vulnerable, given the fact that it has been people who are in one way or the other related with this government that have fallen victims. That is why as leaders, we have been appealing to our brothers to sheath the dagger. We do nothave the instruments to otherwise compel a cease fire. We may have been collaboratingwith the federal Government, but the reality on ground is such that we have been virtually left to our fate, and knowing the enormity of the situation, we always appeal for peace to prevail. We are worried; we are concerned, because we are affected. Just when it was thought that it was fading away, the insurgency intensified. How has this affected you? What many people do not tend to understand is the fact that, there is more to the whole crisis than just an insurgency. While we cannot deny that we have that ideological problem that has snowballed into violence, greater number of the incidents these few days are purely cases of political intimidation from our opponents. If you look at the roll call of people affected, you will agree with me that there is a serious political underpin. We are also aware that armed robbers and other related crimes have often found a good alibi in the Boko Haram situation to wreck havoc on the state. The danger in all these is the possible extinction of our future productive force and the future effect can be better imagined. As a government, we are conscious of the fact that our citizens are being exposed to unwarranted dangers, whereby we have taken up arms against each other. While some people have hijacked the crisis and converted it into a political tool, we cannot on our part afford theluxury of playing politics with the lives of our people. We believe that, in the fullness of time, the truth about the whole thing will come out, and our state and indeedNigeriawill be freed from this entanglement. While we appreciate the plight of your people, we also need to know how you feel about the reported excesses of members of the JTF? The JTF is a sort of necessary evil, and our people must understandthe situation, to the effect that their coming has attendant inconveniences. It has its own structures that can respond to such allegations. They operate on strict orders from the Federal Government, and we are not in aposition to give contrary directives on what they need to do. We have heard of the allegations of excessive use of force in certain situations, but I think it is left for the agency responsible for their actions to explain. On our part, we have been telling the citizenry to be law abiding and to avoid making troubles. We tell them to tolerate whatever situation we find ourselves in believing that itis temporary. One fact I would like to point out however is the fact that the situation in Borno is often exaggerated, and the world outside tend to draw conclusions that are very often erroneous. We are trying our best to correct the wrong notions people have about our state, to the effect that we are not a dead end. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/there-is-more-to-boko-haram-than-seen-bwala/ |
Politics / EFCC Asks Swiss Authority For Help Over $6.8 Billion Subsidy Scam by Timcy01(m): 6:49pm On Dec 10, 2012 |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed that it has sought Switzerland’s help in the investigation of a multi-billion dollar fuel subsidy scam, after some Swiss oil trading houses refused to cooperate with the authorities in Abuja. EFCC’s boss, Ibrahim Lamorde, confirmed to Reuters that a request was sent to Swiss authoritiesin October after some trading houses declined to provide documents. “They are not forthcoming. And mostof the information is not in their Nigerian offices,” Mr Lamorde told Reuters on Friday. He declined to name the companies which did not cooperate. The EFCC is trying to unpick a web of collusion between fuel importers andcorrupt officials that has led to the federal government, paying of nearly double the amount of fuel it receives. Asked if trading houses were themselves complicit in the fraud, Mr Lamorde replied: “We just want information to confirm some of the things the (Nigerian fuel) marketers have said … whether they sold such products to Nigerians or not.” The judicial authority for Geneva, home to many private trading houses, said Switzerland had requested additional information on the probe from Nigerian authorities. “This case involves suspected subsidyfraud on imports of refined products by Nigerian companies. They acquired the oil from companies based in Geneva,” a spokeswoman for the authority said in an emailed statement to Reuters. She added that Geneva-based tradinghouses were not directly implicated in the Nigerian investigation. She did not name the companies involved in shipments. Past suppliers have included many large Swiss-based private trading houses. Swiss-based Nimex Petroleum was suspended earlier this year by Nigeria’s fuel regulator for failing to provide documents for shipments. A source at a trading house said some international commodity trading firms had been asked earlier this year to provide paperwork of fuel shipments to Nigerian authorities as part of the probe. A probe by the National Assembly put the cost of the fuel subsidy fraud at $6.8 billion between 2009 and 2011, almost a quarter of the national budget. As a result of the probe some fuel importers have been charged in courts but no one has yet been convicted, and most of the targets have been relatively low level, rather than big players. The federal government opened an investigation in January into fraud in the administration of the subsidy scheme after an abortive attempt to remove it by President Goodluck Jonathan. Nigeria imports most of the fuel it consumes because its refineries are ill-maintained and run at a fraction oftheir capacity. The government buys the fuel then sells it to the public at cheap, subsidised prices. Private fuel marketers are thought tohave abused the country’s subsidy system by misreporting fuel volumes, for example by reporting the same cargo more than once in a practice known as “round-tripping.” Some of this fuel was sourced from tankers chartered by large trading houses anchored offshore Nigeria. According to him,his brother lived a good life, though he was still a young person at his death, his death is particularly too painful to bear. His words, “I always know that people will surely die. I always believe that people will live to an age where they make their names. Some persons die before they are born, there are a lot of still births. Some others die before they grow up to an age where people recognized them. He (brother) had his two sons fairly grown up; that, at least, will be with us. The circumstances of the death sometimes worries me. What worries me is the he died so suddenly. ”This was a young man I came home on a Friday, he came to my house, nobody carried him, he moved down just from his house across the road. We discussed he was a bit frail.I said follow us so that he could do medical check up. ”He drove himself down to Yenagoa to board the chopper toAbuja. He got to Abuja that Saturday and was admitted in hospital. The following Monday, his breathing changed. I said, ‘letus make arrangement to get him out to let him get treatmentoutside’. So an arrangement wasbeing made. Unfortunately the following he had cardiac arrest and inflamed heart at the State House Clinic. ”We were making arrangement to move him to National Hospital. It is a very sad thing. He had been covering the home front for us. He has a very humble person. He was a reliableand trustworthy person you could ask to handle things for you. He is dead, there is nothing we can do. I must thank all of you who have come to join the Jonathan family to give us this respect. In some traditions, I’m supposed not to be in church. It is tradition that you don’t bury your younger ones. Luckily for this community, we don’t have too many of these cultural and traditional things. It is quite sad, it pulled the whole Nigerians to the community to bury my younger brother.” Present at the church service were Mrs. Eunice Jonathan, mother of the president; Dame Patience Jonathan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; his Deputy, Emeka Ihediora; Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa Stateand his wife. Also in attendance were Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan; (Delta); Matin Elechi (Ebonyi), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers); Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Theodore Orji (Abia); among others.
