Romance › Guys pls advise me on this Bread Seller Girl by Timekeeper(op):
Recently there is this bread seller I met and I have little interest in her. I do meet her sometimes when she is hawking her bread and later I collected her number. We talked and she agreed to come meet me at my house today... Well, she came but imagine she came with her friend.. Honestly I wish her met her friend, she is also a bread seller.. She is kinda short but fair and beautiful unlike the one I invited... I thought of even telling the one I invited if we should just do that things since they are two but I thought it was crazy, how can i bed two friends, mba... Anyway I could not do anything and I just entertained them. Though my eyes was just going to her friend coz she is prettier than the one I invited but I was still concerned about the one I really know... But my problem be say, all this bread ladies that works for factory guys, hope it's not complicated coz me don't have it in mind to date her, just to invite her over when I need that thing and I think it's gonna work.. I took action bitters before she came and as I couldn't do anytin, the bitters was just making my eyes turnioniown. I could have Bleeped this lady today if not that she came with her friend.. Anyway I asked if she would come later if I invite her, she was positive but I'm sure this time it wunt be with her friend..

My issue;
All these bread girls that came from afar to hustle in lagos, hmm with all those bakery guys dey make me rethink... Although I have condom Cox I don't intend going raw on such lady... Is it safe to Bleep such lady sha Cox i no wan hang for one lady wey I no get love interest for ooo. I'm kinda choosy and I no no if I shud just go ahead Cox I fear those bakery workers wey dey always Bleep themselves.... Though I can't judge sha but I fear those girls

Education › Strike: ASUU Still Consulting, May Meet FG This Week by Timekeeper(op): 6:41am On Jan 27, 2019
The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, has said the leadership of the union is still consulting its members on the Federal Government’s offer.

He said the outcome of the consultations would determine what ASUU would be presenting to the government’s team during their next meeting within the week.

Ogunyemi said this in a text message he sent to SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday.

The union leader was responding to enquiries about ongoing negotiations with the Federal Government and the possibility of ASUU calling off its three-month-old strike.

He said, “All I can say for now is that we’re still consulting on the latest offer by the government. We hope to get back to them in the coming week.”

He, however, said the government had yet to show enough commitment to warrant calling off the strike.

Ogunyemi also said the leadership of ASUU had done enough to lower its demands from the Federal Government.

He was however hopeful that a resolution would be reached when ASUU and the FG would be meeting during the week.

According to him, while progress had been made in two areas of discussion, the government had yet to convince ASUU that it is ready to deal with the issue of the infrastructure revitalisation fund of N220bn.

He said, “Progress has been made on the issue of earned allowance but we need to meet our members on how the FG wants to pay the balance. We have agreed on the FG’s proposal to pay in instalments but we have to also agree on how much will be paid per instalment.

“Revitalisation is a major issue in the discussion. We have given our proposal that the remaining N200bn should be paid four times at N50bn per tranche. That is what we are yet to agree on as it concerns revitalisation. We hope the government will have a rethink on this before the middle of next week so that we can meet again and sort out the grey areas. I cannot determine when the strike will end. If government comes up with a proposal that is agreeable to our people, it will be easier for us to tell our people that government has tried its best.”

Recall that ASUU is insisting that until the Federal Government accedes to its demands as highlighted in the 2009 agreement, university lecturers will not return to the classroom.

The union is also demanding that government should resume negotiation on the 2009 agreement regarding the decay in public universities.

It decried the decay in infrastructure and equipment in public universities, and is asking for N1.1tn to fund the university system.

Besides the 2009 agreement, ASUU is accusing the government of disregard for the agreements it reached with the union in 2013 and 2017, as well as the failure to pay the arrears of the shortfall in salaries, even after the presidential initiative on continuous audit verification.

It also accused the Federal Government of failing to release the operational licence of the Nigeria University Pension Management Company to serve as a pension fund administrator for universities’ staff, as contained in the 2017 Memorandum of Action.

Education › 7 Top Professional Courses To Study In Nigeria by Timekeeper(op): 10:12pm On Jan 26, 2019
Inasmuch as the rate of unemployment in Nigeria and other African countries is way high, there are still many ways to build a successful career in the country.
In a previous post on how to build a successful career in Nigeria, we outlined many tips on how to become a successful you and one of them was to study a professional course. Whether you graduate from a university, polytechnic, monotechnic, college of education or any other tertiary institutes, you can still come out with a professional certificate, depending on the course you studied. There are the four-years short professional courses in Nigeria such as banking and finance and the five, six and even seven year courses like law, medicine and engineering.

One of the major advantages of studying any of these professional courses is that you do not have to compulsorily pass through the stress of looking for a job. No matter where you stay, Lagos, Owerri, Abuja, Adamawa, Calabar or even outside Nigeria, you can always get yourself a job. If there aren't any waiting jobs for you, it will be so easy to create yourself one in your field of study. Self-employment is presently the best way to survive in Nigeria and you should adapt to that.
Aside the above advantage, it is also more stress-less to come out of university with a direct professional degree or other certificate. You get into the same university with others, and you all are graduated with the same degree after the same duration of studies, yet you are a step above them.

Accounting

Accountancy is a four-year course, just like many other courses but accountants do not have the same opportunities with the others. It is one of the 15 most popular courses studies by Africans and possessing a certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, better known as ICAN, you really will be a hot cake in the job market.
It is best to enroll for this ICAN examination while still an undergraduate, so that you can be immediately become a chartered accountant immediately you graduate if you pass the exams.
You can even start your own business, check out these 10 best business opportunities for Africans.

- Banking And Finance

Banking and finance isn't one of the most popular courses now, but with a certificate from the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria, you can pave a great way for yourself in the job market.
The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Nigeria (CIBN) certificate not only keeps you ahead of other banking and finance degree holders, but also increases your chances of getting a good job and making a better reputation in the job industry. Studying in a foreign country like France no doubt also boosts your CV.

- Engineering

A normal degree in engineering runs for 5 years, but you can extend your own study to keep a head above the millions of other engineers out there. Engineering is among the7 courses which pay higher than medicine, and shouldn't be toiled with. If you intend studying outside your country, why not check out these top engineering colleges Africans attend in India? There are so many telecoms companies, oil and gas firms, huge manufacturing companies and IT establishments where you can get a good job as an engineer.
Some engineering courses you can pursue include:
- Petroleum Engineering: Petroleum engineers learn how to handle the mining or extraction of oil from under the earth. It is a lucrative course especially following the fact that so many countries in the world such as Libya, Venezuela, Algeria, Kuwait, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, Sudan and Iraq are dependence on petroleum products.
-  Mechanical Engineering: This is the branch of engineering which deals with the designing, constructing, and usage of machines.
- Mechatronics Engineering: This is also another option for the hybrid engineers, and has to do with mechanical equipment. It is not a very popular course but I have a friend studying this in one of the Nigerian universities.
- Computer Engineering: This is no doubt my favorite and is all about both electrical engineering and computer sciences. After graduating successfully, you can get a job in the networking, Software application development, telecommunications, cybersecurity/ network security, cloud computing, web development and so many others.
-  Aerospace Engineering: This is all about the study of space and air travel. Aerospace Engineering might also include military aircraft development and design, together with the satellite technology and commercial airline design.
-  Biomedical Engineering: Biomedical engineers combine the studies of biology and medicine.
-  Biomechanical Engineering: Biomechanical Engineering involves the study of mechanics and organisms and also how the two of them solve issues in a combination.
-  Automotive Engineering: From the name, we can see that it involves the creation and designs of automobiles.
-  Civil Engineering: Civil Engineering is all about the building and development of infrastructure such as bridges, buildings, roads construction, railways and other general constructions.
- Structural Engineering: Structural Engineering is also a branch of  Civil Engineering and involves the erection of structures.
-  Architectural Engineering: Architectural Engineers plan, construct and design different phases of projects.
-  Electrical Engineering: Electrical Engineers study about energy and how to bring the best out of it.
-  Electronics Engineering: We all use electronics everyday, from our mobile phones to the electric cooker and electric bulb, so an electronic engineer studies about all these.
-  Robotics Engineering: This is about the automation of machines and their usage to assist in our daily activities, and the study of how to do this.
-  Microelectronic Engineering: This is a form of  Electrical Engineering too.
-  Chemical Engineering: This is all about the study of chemistry and it's practical application.
- Environmental Engineering: Environmental Engineering is a very popular form of engineering and is about the studying of science and engineering in order to learn how to improve our environment.
-  Materials Science Engineering: Materials Science Engineering is about the study of different materials and why they behave and react the different ways they do.
-  Agricultural Engineering: From the name, we can almost know what Agricultural Engineering is all about. It involves studying and knowing how to apply engineering techniques to agriculture to assist in different areas such as ground preparation, soil conservation and salinity, farm machinery design, irrigation and also effective harvesting strategies.
-  Paper Engineering: Paper Engineering involves the studying of things related to paper production.
-  Sustainability Design: This studies the three major areas of sustainability, which include environmental impact, social considerations and economic considerations.
-  Industrial Engineering: Industrial Engineers work for different industries and establishments.
-  Systems engineering: This is a multi-disciplined course.
-  Manufacturing Engineering: Manufacturing Engineering focus mainly on manufacturing machinery, processes and quality control.
-  Geological engineering: The Geological Engineers study how to combine engineering skills together with research skills for the different mining and construction projects.
-  Nuclear Engineering: Nuclear Engineers all have to do with the fast-growing nuclear energy.
-  Marine Engineering: They study how to develop marine technologies.
-  Engineering Physics: Engineering Physics combines physics with engineering.
-  Photonics Engineering: Photonics Engineering is all about the exploration ofphotons, which is a form of light.

-  Mining Engineering: From the name, Mining Engineers study how to extract mined resources from the earth.
-  Ceramics Engineering: They learn how to produce different objects from ceramics.
- Metallurgical Engineering: Metallurgical Engineers study how to extract and purify metals.
-  Geomatics Engineering:  Geomatics Engineers learn the exact measurements for the mapping of the earth's environment by the usage of advanced techniques and equipment.

- Estate Management

It is advisable to enroll with the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers after studying your normal four-year degree, because it will give you an edge over your colleagues who may just have the normal degree in estate management.
Moreover, if you have a degree in estate management and the Nigeria Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, it increases your chances of getting a better employment with the degree, especially because so many other valuers and estate surveyors are not presently working with this prerequisite certificate .

Education › End In Sight For ASUU Strike As Govt, Union Agree On Seven Areas by Timekeeper(op): 2:27am On Jan 22, 2019
The strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities may be coming to an end as the striking lectures and Federal Government have reached an agreement on seven key areas.

Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, after the meeting with ASUU officials led by its President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi stated that the government had made “substantial progress” in its discussion with the union.

He said the government has released N163 billion from Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) to satisfy some of the demands of ASUU.

Ngige said the union and government had resolved most of the issues, adding that ASUU would need to consult its members and then inform the government of its decision.

Ngige said: “Today we have agreed to fund revitalization. Government has released from TETFUND account about N163bn. The meeting will reconvene at the instance of ASUU. FG is not weak in the negotiation. The strike is not slipping out of our hands.

”We did not take a long time than we anticipated. We have other commitments but the important thing is that we have made substantial progress. We have reached some agreements in seven areas.

“We have reached some agreements in seven areas. Most of the issues have been resolved but ASUU will need to consult its members and come with what they think. If you aggregate the total amount of money involved, it is beyond N50bn.

“We are paying in several compartments and these are debt from 2019 to 2012. We have started defraying the earned allowances there and released N15.4bn for shortfall in the payment of salaries.

Prof. Ogunyemi said discussion with the federal government will continue at a later date.

He said the union had not called off the strike.

Mr Ogunyemi said before the strike can be suspended, the government must address the issue of revitalization.

He said: “We have not suspended the strike, the discussion will continue at a later date.

“We are going back to our members for further consultation. FG gave us reaction to our proposals but there were still grey areas that we are trying to sort out.

“Before the strike can be suspended, the most critical area that FG must address is revitalization. It is central to our academic work, unless that area is addressed, our members will still have issues.

“We are not demanding for N50bn, we are saying that the minimum that Fg can release to reactivate revitalization fund is N50bn,” he added.

President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier ordered Mr. Ngige, to end the over two-month-old strike by Nigerian university teachers before the meeting with the university lectures commenced.

However, one major issue that keeps dragging the negotiations back and forth is the revitalisation of universities.

At present, the government is yet to release the N1.1 trillion it agreed to release as part of the funds for the revitalisation project.

The 2013 MoU stipulated that public universities needed N1.3 trillion for a modest revitalisation.

The fund was to be released in tranches of N200billion in 2013, N220billion 2014, N220billion 2015, 220billion in 2016, N220billion in 2017 and N220billion in 2018.

Although the previous government of Goodluck Jonathan released N200 billion in 2013 nothing has been released since then.

Business › Re: What Happens To My Money If I'm Robbed In A Bank While Waiting To Deposit? by Timekeeper: 8:15pm On Jan 20, 2019
uchennamani:
That would be dependent on lots of facts. If the money is already deposited, the bank is 100% liable to pay back. Theoretically speaking, the bank will still be liable if the money hasn't been deposited but the customer could prove that he has the money with him before the robbery occurred. This is simply because the bank owed the customer a duty of care to prevent occurrence of robbery in its premises. The court would resort to evidence to hold the bank liable. I believe there is no straight-forward answer here. They may be liable, they may escape liability.

Still, the general rule is that the bank owe it's customers a duty to prevent occurrence of robbery in its halls/premises. The rule here is to do everything reasonable foreseeable to prevent the robbery from taking place.
Lemme share, the bank may pay and may not pay in these cases;

1. Bank may pay : bank may just accept to indemnify the customer and give them some amount but not to the full extent of their losses so as to maintain their customers trust and patronage

2. Duty of care: bank will pay if and only if they failed to act in good faith concerning their customer security but in the case the bank acted in good faith and did all it could have done with no negligence to have avoided the robbery and yet they were still robbed, the bank may not pay the customer if she or he haven't been issued a receipt...
