Na season film, e go long.

Speaking on his future as a member of the LP, Otti said, “ I’m not God to also say that I will remain in Labour Party or leave Labour Party.

“As we speak, the objective conditions today do not make it for me to leave Labour Party. Tomorrow, anything can change.
Otti is already singing in parables.

PoliticsLP Crisis: Otti, Others To Face Disciplinary Panel, Says No To Coalition by TimeManager(op): 3:47pm On May 03, 2025
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party (LP) under the leadership of Comrade Julius Abure, has set up a five member Disciplinary Committee to investigate the alleged anti-party activities of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti and “other errant” party members.

This was part of resolutions taken at an emergency NEC meeting of the party held at the party’s National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Friday.

Members of the Committee are: Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi (Chairman), the party’s National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim ( Secretary) and National Legal Adviser, Barr. Kehinde Edun.
Others are: Mrs. Dudu Manuga and Barr. Callistus Ihejiagwa.

The embattled LP. National Chairman, Abure who read the outcome of the NEC meeting, said, “NEC reviewed the anti party activities of Dr. Alex Otti, the Abia State Governor and other erring members and consequently sets up a disciplinary committee, the committee is given two weeks to submit its report.”

Abure further said, “NEC Confirmed its directive for the issuance of NOTICE of the 2024 National Convention of the Party which notice was given to INEC on 04/12/2023. NEC equally confirmed its directive for subsequent Notices of change of date and venue for the 2024 National Convention which held at Nnewi on 27/03/2024.

“NEC confirmed its ratification of the list of ADHOC delegates, elected from the Congresses in the 36 states and the FCT, to the 2024 National Convention which ratification was granted at the NEC meeting which held in Asaba on 20/03/2024.

“NEC confirmed that the 2024 National Convention was held in accordance with the CFRN, 1999, the Electoral Act, 2022, the 2019 LP Constitution, INEC Regulations and Guidelines for Political Parties, 2022 and the LP Guidelines for the 2024 National Convention.

“ NEC confirmed the validity of the 2024 National Convention and stands by its outcome.
NEC reiterates its support and confidence in the NWC elected at the 2024 National Convention and its belief in the competence and capacity of the NWC elected at the 2024 National Convention, led by Barrister Julius Abure as National Chairman, to continue to steer the Party towards unity, progress and victory in the coming elections.

“NEC commends Nigeria’s Apex Court for standing on the sound principle of the supremacy of political parties, and the sanctity and bindingness of decisions taken by the validly convened recognized organs as created by the Party’s Constitution, in its decision delivered on 04/04/2025.

“NEC expressed its commitment to continue to seek peace and reconciliation within the ranks of the Party and again extends an olive branch to all aggrieved members of the party to sheath their swords in the overall interest of the Party and our dear Nation.

“NEC reiterated its belief in the Nation’s Democracy and the party’s commitment to its growth and deepening as the only means to national development.”

Count LP out of coalition of opposition parties

Speaking about the much talked about coalition of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections, Abure declared that, “the Party is not and will not be part of any coalition towards the 2027 General Election.

“The Party will rather continue to rebuild, reposition, re-strategize, reconcile, strengthen, drive its programs and policies, win more members towards winning the 2027 General Elections.”

Abure also announced that the party’s NEC congratulated Chief George Moghalu who emerged winner and the Party’s candidate for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election at the Governorship primaries held in Awka on 05/04/2025.

According to him, the party’s NEC is already rallying all members and Ndi Anambra to support Chief George Moghalu for the Anambra State Governorship Election election for a greater Anambra State.

Earlier, Abure took a swipe at the party’s only Governor, Alex Otti of Abia State whom he described as a physical and intellectual “dwarf”, whom he said has spent his time in office playing divisive politics.

He said, “Without sounding immodest, we made Governor Otti and all those elected party members who are fighting us today. Otti went on national Television and tried to mislead the public about the Supreme Court judgement.

“He used derogatory words to describe our executive and even went to the extent of saying we were ‘masturbating’. I’ve never seen such an ingrate.”

Abure said, the party had expected Otti to meet with the NWC after he was elected to express gratitude for its massive support and sacrifice made to ensue he not only got the party’s ticket but also won the election.

Abure spoke in response to Governor Otti’s comments in an interview he granted Arise Television.

Otti had in the interview in question said among other things that, “The issue is that the party that brought me to power is Labour.

“Okay? And today we have fought and retrieved Labour. So, and I said I will send you the Supreme Court judgment. When you finish reading it, you will know that Abure is just masturbating. He’s out.”

Speaking on his future as a member of the LP, Otti said, “ I’m not God to also say that I will remain in Labour Party or leave Labour Party.

“As we speak, the objective conditions today do not make it for me to leave Labour Party. Tomorrow, anything can change.

“And I’ve told you, I’m very pragmatic and I look at things, and of course, if I’m going to take any decision, that decision is going to be taken through full consultation with the people.”

fergie001:
In the determination of this, what INEC seeks to question is:
1. Who are the stakeholders with? LP was founded by the Organised Labour - NLC & TUC. Infact, the Certificate of Registration of the LP is in the NLC Headquarters. On whose side are they?

2. Like I have argued many times, NEC can be called by two-thirds members of NEC, nobody says it must be the Chairman or NWC.

3. That the tenure of Abure has ended is not in doubts. That the Convention that birthed his "infamous self-declared second term" did not follow due process is unassailable. When the tenure ends, what happens knowing there is no vacuum in Government. A Caretaker Committee is set up.

4. That Abure did not follow due process in the conduct of his "re-election" was also affirmed by INEC.

5. That Otti is the only Governor of the Party is not in question, that Peter Obi is the leader of the Party is agreed and affirmed by both parties, who are majority of NEC/caucus members with?
I mean those like State EXCOs, Zonal EXCOs, Ward EXCOs, Stakeholders of the Party, former guber aspirants, leaders, members of State Assembly, NASS members and stakeholders of the Party.

INEC has the answer...... This is not new, it happened with APGA with Chekwas Okorie and Victor Umeh.
His reelection was not self declared, Otti endorsed it. INEC has the answer, right?. so we wait. I don't have a dog in this fight.

Reacting to the arrest, the Edo State chapter of the Take It Back Movement (TIB) issued a strongly worded statement, demanding Edokpayi’s immediate and unconditional release.

This is someone who called himself an activist, who prides himself to have fought against military regimes and who always say he is against military dictatorship yet soliciting for the release of some miscreants glorifying a military junta. If any miscreants want to rally for a dictator, they know the road to Burkina Faso. No miscreants will be allowed on Nigerian soil to celebrate another miscreant in far away Burkina Faso.

Legally Speaking Abure, you know you are out of there.....
Governors lack the power to sack a party chairman. If his tenure had expired, the party through convention elects a new NWC. The meeting which Otti summoned to select Caretaker Committee was illegal.

PoliticsRe: Otti Is Not Only Dwarf In Appearance, He Is Dwarf In Knowledge- Abure Fires Back by TimeManager(op):
I blame Peter Obi in all of these, as a leader of a party, the buck stops at your table. Rather than jaw jaw, Obi chose war war. This is the same Abure that offered his arms and legs to fight for Obi and Otti. Even when NLC wanted to hijack the party, Abure fought them off, Obi and Otti were behind Abure when all these happened. Otti approved of the reelection of Abure, his Deputy represented him. Nobody wanted to be discarded like a rag after what they had done for you, accepting you into the party when you were kicked out of PDP. Tinubu sent delegates to meet with Elrufai even when he had already made up his mind to leave for SDP, the President still sent people to dialogue with him. That's what a leader does. But Obi stands aloof watching the party burn. Too bad. Whatever he gets, he should accept it.

PoliticsOtti Is Not Only Dwarf In Appearance, He Is Dwarf In Knowledge- Abure Fires Back by TimeManager(op): 1:20pm On May 03, 2025
The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, on Friday, hit back at the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, stating that his leadership was instrumental in elevating Otti to the position he now enjoys.

Abure made the remarks during an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee at the Labour Party secretariat in Abuja.

His comments were in response to Otti’s appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show earlier that day, where the governor
claimed they had taken back control of the party from Abure, who he accused of “masturbating” over claims that he was still in charge.

Otti had said, “This is a democracy, and sometimes you must stand for something. I can’t say I wouldn’t leave the Labour Party; what if the party is non-existent tomorrow?

“The party that brought me to power is Labour. Okay. Today we have fought and retrieved the Labour Party. I will send you the Supreme Court judgment, and when you finish reading it, you will know that Abure is just masturbating.”

Abure, however, responded that Otti is who he is today because of the Labour Party leadership.

He said, “It is only appropriate at this point to respond to him so he doesn’t think he is the only one who can speak. As mature leaders of this party who believe in the development of this country, we made them.

“Without sounding immodest, we made Governor Alex Otti. We supported him, made sacrifices, rejected bribes and offers, just so he could become the governor he is today. Yet today, he goes on national television to misinform the public about the Supreme Court judgment.

“My major concern was his foul language, saying he was laughing at us for holding on to the party leadership and ‘masturbating’ over it.

Dwarfy and Lilliputian men were once considered men of great ideas. But Alex Otti is not only dwarfy in appearance—he is dwarfy in knowledge.”

According to Abure, the Supreme Court’s ruling clearly stated that party leadership matters are internal and fall under the purview of the party’s constitution.

Calling Otti a “jester,” Abure said he was embarrassed to see the governor join other party renegades in submitting the court ruling to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

He said, “It is clear. When the Supreme Court says leadership is a domestic affair of the party, what does it mean? Even a layman knows that the party’s constitution is supreme. For him to go on national TV today, after parading himself like a cricket to INEC, is disgraceful.

“See how a whole governor reduced himself to carrying the Supreme Court CTC, thinking he could intimidate and harass INEC. But we know INEC is a civilised institution guided by law and procedure.

“I want to state clearly that Otti does not represent the values of our party. We told Nigerians in 2023 that the Labour Party would produce leaders who are different. We said a new Nigeria is possible. But today, what are we seeing?” he asked.

In a free and fair election, governors have ONE vote. Kicking Tinubu out is a task Nigerians must accomplish!
First, you have to kick out the delusion in your head.

Mr President will be commissioning projects in Anambra and Abia, he had commissioned some projects in Enugu earlier. When Kalu says the President will get 70% of SE votes in 2027, maybe we should take it seriously.

PoliticsAgain, Wike's Aide Slams Baba-Ahmed by TimeManager(op): 2:58pm On May 02, 2025
Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has criticized former presidential aide Hakeem Baba-Ahmed over his recent political commentary ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a post shared on X, Olayinka wrote: “One man from Mauritania is going up and down, telling real Nigerians in the North what should happen in 2027.”

The statement, clearly aimed at Baba-Ahmed, questioned his perceived influence over Northern political opinion, alluding to longstanding and controversial claims about his origin—an allegation that has circulated in political circles without evidence.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who served as Special Adviser on Political Matters to Vice President Kashim Shettima until his resignation in 2024, is a prominent voice in the Northern Elders Forum and a frequent commentator on national issues. He has been vocal about leadership direction and electoral expectations ahead of the next general elections.

Olayinka’s remarks reflect deepening tensions as political actors begin positioning for 2027, especially within the context of Northern political dynamics and national unity. His comments are also part of a broader pattern of exchanges targeting perceived critics of the current political establishment.

Dr Mgbeke is not done yet with the exposures because Natasha talked a lot and exposed a lot of people in her careless talk.....

Regina was one of the women who gave her voice and time to fight for Senator Natasha Akpoti on social media...

"Just did one of the hardest things - I tendered an unequivocal apology to my “Big Brother,” the SP, after watching that earth-shaking interview by Dr Duru.

The middle ground I had tried to maintain disappeared, and tonight, I ate humble pie.
I don’t know if Madam Senator can recover from this one. I wish her well, and extend my deepest sympathies to all women who genuinely endure sexual harassment.

Weaponization of gender based sympathies must be checked with the same energy with which we cry out against sexual harrasment. Thank you Dr Duru ( hopeful this is not another exercise on our collective gullibility.)
As for me, I’m returning to my sabbatical from social media. Let no one interrupt my leave again.
Thank you.''

PoliticsCourt Delivers Fresh Judgement In Defection Suit Against 27 Pro-wike Lawmakers by TimeManager(op): 1:21pm On May 01, 2025
A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has dismissed the lawsuit filed against 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who allegedly left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The case was brought by lawmakers loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara — Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, Hon. Adolphus Orubienimigha, and Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokarifor. They asked the court to declare the seats of the defected lawmakers vacant.

These lawmakers argued that the 27 Assembly members, led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, no longer had the right to hold their positions because they left the party that helped them win their elections.

The court, led by Justice Emmanuel Obile, had earlier delayed its decision to wait for a ruling from the Supreme Court. In February, the Supreme Court recognized Amaewhule’s leadership of the Assembly, a decision that influenced the Federal High Court’s latest ruling.

PoliticsCAN Condemns Media Blackmail Targeting Seyi Tinubu by TimeManager(op): 6:21pm On Apr 30, 2025
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), representing the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has expressed concern over what it describes as media blackmail directed at Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by Reverend John Joseph Hayab, Chairman of CAN in the region, the organisation emphasised the need for responsible journalism and cautioned against the spread of unverified information.

“Just because Seyi is Tinubu’s son, he should not become a subject or object of media blackmail and propaganda to destroy him. There will be life after his father’s administration is over,” Hayab stated.

He further highlighted the detrimental effects of disseminating false information, noting that such actions are contrary to cultural and religious values.

Spreading lies against anyone is not acceptable in our culture and religion,” he said.

CAN’s statement also addressed the broader implications of media misconduct on national unity and development.

“People who have found this pattern suitable to destroy others should please stop it because no nation can grow by people destroying one another,” Hayab warned.

The organisation urged media outlets to adhere to ethical standards by verifying information before publication.

“No media should write any story about anyone based on hearsay without investigation,” the statement read.

CAN called on Nigerians to reject narratives aimed at character assassination, stressing the importance of protecting the integrity of individuals, especially the youth.

“When you celebrate the destruction of another person today, you may be the next. Therefore, Nigerians should denounce stories that are meant for character assassination to protect our youths and future generation from thinking it is an acceptable practice,” Hayab noted.
