FashionRe: Picture: Omotola Without Makeup (beautiful!) by TimePiece(f): 12:06pm On Dec 21, 2012
Davedavy: Omotola without make up smiley
Of course, she's wearing one, but for a movie!
That's a movie set you have right there.
The dark patches are all signs of make-up.
To portray her character/role in the movie.
You know, make-up also does that!
PoliticsRe: Fashola Is Not Qualified To Be A Presidential Candidate by TimePiece(f): 7:28am On Dec 21, 2012
Methinks whatever Fashola has done well in, he did in his first tenure: and that's why I voted for him at the last elections.
But now, I truly see reasons with people who say that his reforms are ultimately elitist.
Also, I'm not so impressed with his careless making of laws.
I won't vote for him again if he came out for anything.
Regarding his performance level, I'll say that it's been more propaganda than anything.

The picture doesn't look like she's without make-up.
Though, she's always been pretty.
RomanceRe: Don't Know How To Tell Him That I Don't Like His Christmas Gift by TimePiece(f): 6:57am On Dec 21, 2012
I'll say, don't tell them.

I'd advise that you focus on the intention and the spirit behind the givin.
That way, you won't have any problems appreciating it.
Whatever your reason is for not "liking" it, be it the material worth, or the inappropriateness of it, one thing is true, we're not all skilled in "gifting".
Know this fact, and "sin no more" cheesy

I can't say I blame you!
But believe me, this one very much looks like the real deal. She's cute!
FamilyRe: Should Married Women Drink Alcohol? by TimePiece(f): 7:02pm On Dec 19, 2012
mrs flawless: The OP-Octavo is probably just getting out of school(imo). Let's fastforward his life by a couple of years: He gets a job at a multinational and at the end of year party, he sees his Head of HR with a glass of wine holding intelligent discussions with other members of staff, meanwhile this is a married woman, responsible with grown up kids who is acclaimed to be a genius at what she does. Octavo shakes his head in dissapointment and wonders why such a woman will be doing such an "iresponsible" thing.
Years later, Octavo is sent otside the country on a training maybe with one of his Employer's affiliate and he gets to interact with pretty, intelligent career women collleagues and one then says "do yo mind joining me and my family for dinner before you travel back to your country and he will of course accept the invitation. He arrives at dinner and get served wine by his colleague's husband who also pours a glass for his wife(octavo's colleague). They enjoyed dinner while having productive conversation about life, career, politicts e.t.c.
On his way bact to Nija, Octavo visits a duty free shop at the airport and buy Bailey's hazlenut flavour(people say women loves to drink that) for mrs octavo and says honey, you should try some of this while we watch movie togetther. he then remebers he once opened a thread calling married women that drinks irresponsible and quickly calls seun osewa to see if the thtread can be completely deleted.
I so love how you addressed it!
Nice!
FashionRe: Annie Idibia Goes From Sweet To Naughty Girl In New Magazine by TimePiece(f): 6:24pm On Dec 19, 2012
Goldieluks: She needs to get rid of her fashion designer asap. Pretty bad taste.
Honestly speaking! Terrible choice of dresses!
Even the photographer should be sacked too for those awkward postures(angles)!
Except she's that difficult to work on cry
Everything is wrong with those pictures!
I hate the backgrounds esp the one that has a standing fan sticking out of it; the indecent exposure of boobs and coarse-looking skin, the ugly facial expressions (smiles undecided) that didn't go with the supposed themes of the photographs.
The early posters put it right: she's not at all a natural, and as a result is trying too hard!
Annie, you are pretty!
Tho you're 2face's wifey, but you don't need all these or better still, get a professional!
EventsRe: How Do I Keep Uninvited Wedding Guest Away From My Wedding. by TimePiece(f): 6:37pm On Dec 10, 2012
Yomieluv: Its a good move jare,I see no reason why some invitees will still come with friends,as if the host is a father xmas. the RSVP on the IV is to enable the host plan, but not in the case with Nigerian.pls put "strictly by IV" on the IV,its high time we got it right in our way of life.
for gate-crashers, all they need is to know about it and that's all, even when it is stated that "admission is strictly by IV".
but i totally agree with you that it's got to that point when we should learn to do things right.

a lil' tip for the poster:

*In addition to stating that it is "strictly by IV',
have your wedding in a different town from where you and your spouse reside (let's say at least 150km away). That way, you'll have in attendance the people who really want to attend and you've invited. Parents will have less influence on how, where and who?

TV/MoviesRe: Ramsey Nouah Vs Emeka Ike: Who Act Love Movies Better? by TimePiece(f):
ItsModella: The thing tire me sef o. Comparing Emeka Ike to Ramsey Nouah is like comparing Vic O to Wizkid...what levels? Emeka Ike IMO is one of the worst things to happen to Nollywood, he's annoying to watch. He has been in the industry for more than a decade yet his acting still sucks.
i totally agree with you.
He just never gets better

So Ramsey for me!

LiteratureRe: How Do I Speak English Fluently? by TimePiece(f): 10:32pm On Dec 03, 2012
salam001: The best way to learn any language is by speaking it
exactly, frequent usage makes one better.

OP it's usually the case with learning a language formally.
you learn faster to write it than to speak it.
so' it's normal.
what you have to do is, brave up and speak it!
it can be challenging esp since you fear you'll do badly at it
but feel free and dive in, and you'll find it doesn't hurt that much afterall
RomanceRe: Must Your Spouse/Girlfriend/Boyfriend Know Your Phone Number Off Hand? by TimePiece(f): 8:26pm On Nov 30, 2012
it's advisable to have one's spouse's phone number by heart but i don't think its absence should result in one hanging up the phone on another.
that's being rude.

Nairaland GeneralRe: What Is Wrong In Asking Someone "How Was Your Night?" by TimePiece(f): 4:08pm On Nov 28, 2012
aribisala0: There is nothing Grammatically wrong with the expression "how was your night?" What rule exactly is it that is breached in that question?
You do not know what you are talking about!! You do not make your case by citing other examples of solecisms. WHAT EXACTLY is wrong with "HOW WAS YOUR NIGHT?"
We should distinguish social proprietariness from grammar. As far as grammar is concerned one may ask
"how was your day, morning night, week month year? etc" No harm done.

Actually Language is very distinct from Math Formualae and nobody climbed Mount Sinai and came down with any tablet prohibiting "How was your night" tell us EXACTLY which rule has been broken in this troublesome expression.

I fail to see the relevance here of your "Ice Cream " lecture .
LOL! @ "troublesome expression"

The rule of acceptability given the context, has been broken. and that's exactly the point i made in my first response.
Grammaticality is not the only rule or standard set in any language to attain appropriateness.
if it were just a case of grammar, like you put it, then an expression like, "colourless green ideas sleep profusely" would be just fine because by any standard English grammatical structure, it is correct. But is it acceptable? no! Why? because everything is wrong with the idea given.
just like it is wrong to ask your colleague how their night went as a form of greeting in English.

my ice-cream illustration was just used to buttress the fact that it is not okay for anyone to say that a form is right, just by mere reasoning or sentiment but should be by application of what obtains in a system.

and yes, language rules can be likened to Maths formulae because every language user follows a set of rules or formulae when he speaks except that they just don't know it. Linguists will tell you that.
