PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s Foreign Policy Under Buhari’s Administration by Timibabaj(m): 6:31pm On Jul 03, 2018
Quite a lot of improvements in just 3 years
Chi12baby:
1. June 3 and 4, 2015 – Shortly after his inauguration, Buhari on June 3 and 4, 2015 travelled to the Niger Republic and Chad Republic for consultations on how to tackle terrorism in the country and the region.

2. On June 7, 2015, he travelled to Germany to attend the G-7 summit and proceeded to South Africa on June 13, 2015 for the African Union Summit in continuation of talks on anti-terrorism fight.

3. In July 2015, the President embarked on a four-day official visit to the United States of America on the 19th and proceeded to Cameroon for a two-day visit on the 29th.

4. On November 22, 2015, the President travelled to Tehran, Iran for the third Gas Exporting Countries’ Forum; on November 26 he proceeded to Malta to participate in the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting while he travelled to Paris, France on November 29 for the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

5. On December 3, 2015, Buhari went to South Africa to participate in the Forum on China/Africa Cooperation in Johannesburg while he travelled to the Republic of Benin on December 10 for the funeral rites of late President Mathieu Kerekou.

6. He Was Out of the Country 4 Times in January 2016 – The President travelled out of the country four times in January 2016. The trips included the one he embarked on January 8 to Cotonou, Benin Republic for a meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the Niger Basin Authority; his January 17 three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates; his January 27 three-day official visit to Kenya; and his January 29 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s trip for the 26th Summit of African Union Heads of State and Government.
PoliticsGroup Endorses Buhari For 2019 by Timibabaj(op): 5:39pm On Jul 03, 2018
A non-governmental Organization; Savers Empowerment Ambassador Initiative has thrown its weight behind the re-election of President Buhari for 2019 and want Nigerians to support the president in the elections.
In a release by the chairman, Frank Ramsey, the group said the endorsement came for the president because of his fight against corruption in a manner that no previous government has done before and this has redeemed the image of this country within the International community.

Speaking further, Ramsey noted that abandoned projects that litter the country, especially roads, have been rebuilt by his administration, while contractors now deliver jobs on schedule.

Group Secretary, Isa Faiza Mahmood said his group would volunteer to work tirelessly for Buhari’s re-election, as he is the only one that can take the country to greater heights.
PoliticsRe: Is The EFCC Winning The Anti-corruption War At Last? by Timibabaj(m): 5:33pm On Jul 03, 2018
I think they're winning. Buhari has given them all the support.
Okonsyourguy:
Is the EFCC winning the anti-corruption war at last? The apex corruption agency claims yesterday it secured 139 convictions in the first 6 months (January-June) of 2018 alone! Wow! Ibrahim Magu's too much mehn...

For the first time in Nigeria's history, 2 former governors, Jolly Nyame and Joshua Dariye of Taraba and Plateau state, have bagged 14-year jail terms each. In this same Nigeria where former governors and the corruption cabal claim to be untouchable, 2 of them can get canned within 6 months of the same year while the rest are catching cold.

Can Magu come out and collect his handshake? Can President Buhari get his accolades for supporting the anti-corruption agency? Do Nigerians now see Buhari means this anti-corruption battle as promised in 2015? Can you see Buhari is justified for keeping Magu in the EFCC and is delivering on the promise to kick corruption out of public office in Nigeria?

Is EFCC's unprecedented feat in the war against corruption worthy of applause? I don't fail to knock him when he gets things wrong, so Buhari chop knuckle for fighting corruption abeg. What do you think?
PoliticsRe: APC And Oshiomole by Timibabaj(m): 4:12pm On Jun 25, 2018
The Buhari effect I suppose grin
Chi12baby:
It can not just be that no one noticed how relateively peaceful APC’s Programme went yesterday. From elections to deliberations, everything went smooth. Unlike the opposition whose Nation convention put the whole Nation at the bank of war. Charity they say begins at home. Buhari and Oyegun have been able to put things together, I am sure that Oshiomhole’s presence will make things even better.
BusinessRe: Technology Start-ups To Get Tax Holidays - Vice President Yemi Osinbajo by Timibabaj(m): 7:41am On Jun 25, 2018
This is a good time to start my own 'start-up' oh.

who doesn't want tax holiday? grin

Well done Buhari, Osibanjo,.. infact all of you.
Okonsyourguy:
If you're a techie and interested in getting tax holiday from the Buhari administration, this information is for you.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said the Federal Government is including technology start-ups and businesses in the list of businesses eligible for tax holidays.

Osinbajo speaking in Lagos while inaugurating Vibranium Valley, a hub for technology and innovation start-ups described as the largest in sub-Saharan Africa. The Vice President said Vibranium Valley, established by Venture Garden Group, could become Nigeria’s next innovation cluster housing tech firms devoted to talent, data and entrepreneurship.

Vibranium Valley, located within the expansive grounds of the former Concord Newspaper Headquarters in Ikeja, consists of world-class office spaces fully furnished to meet the needs of up to 50 tech start-ups.

So now that you know where to go, do you think this tax holiday plan by the Buhari admin is great for small businesses?
PoliticsRe: Oshiomole's Emergence As APC National Chairman. What Do You Make Of It? by Timibabaj(m): 2:58pm On Jun 24, 2018
Buhari + Oshiomole. Love it!
Jakinola01:
I've always liked Oshiomole ever since he fought for laborers during the Obasanjo administration. He has always proved to be a strong man and a man of integrity. I feel his emergence as APC national chairman would help strengthen the party and help President Buhari with the good things he's doing.

What do you think?
PoliticsWill Oshiomole-led APC End Pdp's Reign In Delta State? by Timibabaj(op): 10:46am On Jun 24, 2018
An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Delta, Mr. Hope Abijor, says the emergence of Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s National Chairman will end Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reign in the state.

“Whether you like it or now, Oshiomhole is a formidable political force in this country, besides being a man of high credibility.

“Again, he has good friends and strong influence in Delta, and I strongly believe that with him as national chairman, APC will take over the state in 2019.’’

Awesome
Chi12baby:
As they say, it takes two to tangle. In this case, it takes all arms of government to tangle. Next time the thought of accusing Buhari comes to mind, say this 'Get thee behind me satan'. Then you can start by accusing NASS, State Governors, SHOA, LG chairperson and the likes. It takes all these people to make governance fruitful. It does not take one man to rule a country, i thought that was why the concept of checks and balances emanated from. It so happens that the watchdogs are now the ones padding and manipulating Budgets. God dey.
PoliticsWhat Do You Think Of The Second National Health Plan Launched By The FG? by Timibabaj(op): 3:46pm On Jun 22, 2018
The Buhari-led federal government recently launched the second National Strategic Health Development Plan (NSHDP) to deepen healthcare service delivery in the country.

The new NSHDP was initiated after the first plan came to an end in 2015 after a five-year period.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, explained that the five-year plan will help to foster efficient healthcare services across the country.

The government also gave official approval for the establishment of traditional and alternative medicine department in the Federal Ministry of Health.

The approval for the establishment of the department, which was given by the Office of the Head of Service (HOS) will for the first time give official recognition to traditional African medicine in the country.

I personally think this is great. As Africans, most of us cannot do without the traditional medicine but there has never been any regulation to ensure its safety.

With this recent development from Buhari's administration, traditional medicine would be properly regulated.

What are your thoughts guys?

PoliticsBudget 2018: How Greedy Can These Our Lawmakers Be? by Timibabaj(op): 4:33pm On Jun 21, 2018
So because the National Assembly felt that President Buhari needed to be taught a lesson in proper lobbying and 'Checks and Balancing, They decided that the 2018 budget process had to be weaponized against him.

What kind of humans do we have as lawmakers in this country?

While amending the 2018 Budget is their constitutional duty, where does it state that the Legislature must frustrate the Executive to have their way to arbitrarily pad up the document?

What the national Assembly did with the 2018 budget is totally immoral, disturbing, disruptive and antithetical to the direction of growth of Nigeria.

It's nothing short of Budget padding, usurping the executive's function and this must not stand.

Nigerians may not be able to start a total recall of the National Assembly because it's too late but we can make sure that these dubious characters don't make it back to the Green and Red Chambers in 2019.

For the elections, we can't wait.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Breaking: Saraki, Dogara Absent As President Buhari Signs 2018 Budget Into Law by Timibabaj(m): 2:47pm On Jun 20, 2018
This is good. Let the work fully commence!
Okonsyourguy:
Fellow Nigerians, after spending 6 agonizingly long months in the National Assembly, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally signed the 2018 Appropriation Bill into law. Conspicuously absent at the signing of the 2018 Budget were the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Reps, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

President Buhari while explaining the reasons behind the long delay in signing the budget said, "I am concerned about some of the changes that the National Assembly has made to the budget proposals that I presented. The logic behind the Constitutional direction that budgets should be proposed by the Executive is that, it is the Executive that knows and defines its policies and projects.

Unfortunately, that has not been given much regard in what has been sent to me. The National Assembly made cuts amounting to 347 billion Naira in the allocations to 4,700 projects submitted to them for consideration and introduced 6,403 projects of their own amounting to 578 billion Naira."

Politics2018 Budget: What Are Your Thoughts On The Changes Made By NASS? by Timibabaj(op): 2:38pm On Jun 20, 2018
The 2018 budget has just been signed by President Buhari some few hours ago today. In the midst of the celebrations and all, the president has expressed his displeasure at the way The National Assembly tampered with the budget proposal he sent them.

Below is his statement.

"I am however concerned about some of the changes The National Assembly has made to the budget proposals I presented.

The logic behind the Constitutional direction that budgets should be proposed by the Executive is that it is the Executive that knows & defines its policies & projects.

Unfortunately, that has not been given much regard in what has been sent to me.

The National Assembly made cuts amounting to N347 billion in the allocations to 4,700 projects submitted to them for consideration and introduced 6,403 projects of their own amounting to N578 billion.

Many of the projects cut are critical and may be difficult, if not impossible, to implement with the reduced allocation.

Some of the new projects inserted by the National Assembly have not been properly conceptualized, designed and costed and will, therefore, be difficult to execute.

Such examples of projects from which cuts were made are as follows:

1.) At a time when we are working with Labour to address compensation-related issues, a total of 5 billion Naira was cut from the provisions for Pension Redemption Fund and Public Service Wage Adjustment.

2.) The provision for Construction of the Terminal Building at Enugu Airport was cut from 2 billion Naira to 500 million Naira, which will further delay the completion of this critical project.

3.) The Take-off Grant for the Maritime University in Delta State, a key strategic initiative of the Federal Government, was cut from 5 billion Naira to 3.4 billion Naira.

4.) About seventy (70) new road projects have been inserted into the budget of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works, and Housing.

In doing so, The National Assembly applied some of the additional funds expected from the upward review of the oil price benchmark to the Ministry’s vote.

5.) Another area of concern is the increase by The National Assembly of the provisions for Statutory Transfers by an aggregate of 73.96 billion Naira. Most of these increases are for recurrent expenditure at a time we are trying to keep down the cost of governance.

An example of this increase is the budget of the National Assembly itself which has increased by 14.5 billion Naira, from 125 billion Naira to 139.5 billion Naira without any discussion with the Executive.

Notwithstanding the above-stated observations, I have decided to sign the 2018 Budget in order not to further slow down the pace of recovery of our economy, which has doubtlessly been affected by the delay in passing the budget."

What do you make of these? Is the National Assembly right to tamper with the budget proposal the way they did?

Please share your thoughts.

Enough room for everyone to grow
Chi12baby:
Next time a young person complains that there is no job and that is the reason for involvement in internet fraud. Look them in the eye and say 'you are just lazy'. How about you try selling fairly used clothes or starting a poultry. No, we want the easy and fast way. Do we really expect Nigeria to change in less than 3 years. Please set realistic expectations. You would be the one to go to jail, not Buhari. Get a legit job and help Nigeria in your own way. Ever heard of snail farming, recharge card sales in bulk ? Wait, how about you learn a skill ? Tailoring, plumbing, hair dressing and all. Keep waiting for a while collar job and looking for who to blame. Until i made my nails for a ridiculous amount, i did not think Nigeria was a good place to make money.
Guys, Abroad you spend money on tax and bills. Nigeria allows you to grow, the market is large. 190 million people, somebody must buy.Registering a business in Nigeria used to take months, now you can do it in less than 48 hours. This is Buhari's way of encouraging Businesses. Well done to the hard working youths, well done to President Buhari.

PoliticsRe: Would Kaduna APC Miss Shehu Sani If He Leaves For Dumps Them In The Race To 2019 by Timibabaj(m): 3:26pm On Jun 19, 2018
APC won't miss him one bit. He's been against them
Okonsyourguy:
Senator Shehu Sani has dropped the much expected bombshell that he was leaving the APC when he lamented the inability of leaders of the party to address the internal crisis rocking the party in the past three years. Senator Sani's threat came in spite of President Muhammadu Buhari making good moves to keep Kaduna APC together by setting up a Reconcillition Committee headed by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The question is will the APC miss the fiery Kaduna Senator if he dumps them to seek his re-election ticket somewhere else? Your comments are welcome.

PoliticsWhat Are Your Thoughts About Joshua Dariye's Jail Sentence? by Timibabaj(op): 12:47pm On Jun 19, 2018
Former Plateau State Governor, Senator Joshua Dariye, evoked an overwhelming emotion last week when he broke down at a Federal High Courtroom and pleaded that justice is tempered with mercy.

He had just been handed 14 years sentence over allegations of corruption, which started some years back.

His mortifying grief and regrets were palpable. He momentarily lost himself to the unexpected that had just hit him. He probably had a quick reflection on life and its vanity.

He must have wondered too how he walked by himself through the path of corruption that eventually landed him in the jail as the wages of his many choices.

His excuse that he was misled was as insipid as his hushed, albeit pitiful tone. Truth is, the buck always stopped with him as the governor and so, he made his choice.

We all know that in previous administrations, cases like this go underground and are forgotten obviously because of how influential Dariye is.

So now I'm beginning to think that Buhari's administration has taken the fight against corruption a notch further, which is super impressive.

What are your thoughts??

The speed with which President Buhari is converting his critics into supporters these days is becoming scary. Next line to those singing Buhari's praises for his stance on integrity is Senator Smart Adeyemi. The PDP senator who lost his seat in Kogi West district to the embattled Dino Melaye, has said it for all ears to hear that Muhammadu Buhari remains the best choice for President in the coming 2019 elections because nobody has questioned Buhari's integrity. Truly, has anyone linked Buhari to graft or any dirty deeds since he assumed office in 2015? None, baba is as clean as a new pin.

Do you agree with Senator Adeyemi's declaration or do you find yourself questioning his assertion?

People never want to put in the work at all
Babayero212:
After the dismal loss by our beloved super eagles in the ongoing world cup, numerous persons have come out to voice out their minds.

Many think our players did abysmally below par in their delivery method.

Others feel we could have done better.

My thoughts are mine. I just found it funny when Nigerians stated trending the Nigerian Pastor that was openly seen praying for the Nigerian team.

This is the issue I have with Nigerians. We attach too much sentiments and emotions to things.

Instead of training properly, we would rather be hoping on "prayer" to do the magic.

God blesses the work of your hands.

This means you need to have a work first. Then God will bless it.

For example, see the way Buhari has been lowkey making positive impact all over Nigeria.
But nobody will see all that. All they will focus on, are the small mistakes not caused by his govt.

Next thing you know, someone will trip and accuse the govt of making them fall. grin grin grin

Anyway, work the work Nigerians.

The same way Buhari is working the good work.
PoliticsJune 12 1993: How Old Were You Then? What Do You Remember? by Timibabaj(op): 12:39pm On Jun 18, 2018
Still basking in the euphoria of Buhari's declaration of June 12 as our new democracy day, I thought I should ask these questions because personally, I had this nostalgic feeling about it the moment the President made that declaration.

June 6th, 2018 felt like June 12th, 1993 all over again.

I wasn't eligible to vote at that time yet but I was old enough to feel the emotions in the atmosphere when it was certain that Abiola had won the elections.

There was genuine joy everywhere. It was a victory for Nigeria as a whole. It felt like an emancipation.

Unfortunately, that joy was stolen.

Most of us had moved on from that considering the kind of country we've become used to - a country where it seems like justice is a myth, but Buhari thought it wise to right the wrongs and serve us justice when we never even expected it.

What do you remember about June 12, 1993?

PoliticsJune 12: Do You Think A New Dawn Has Come For Nigeria? by Timibabaj(op): 10:22am On Jun 15, 2018
If there is a takeaway from the euphoria of celebrations that accompanied the June 12 investiture of honours on the presumed winner of the annulled 1993 presidential elections, Chief MKO Abiola, it is the fact that there is renewed hope in the positive destination of Nigeria.

For nearly a quarter of a century after the Ibrahim Babangida led junta annulled the June 12 elections, a majority of the Nigerian electorate lost faith in the country's leadership. Leader after leader, from the interim arrangement led by Ernest Shonekan to President Goodluck Jonathan, the masses longed for a leader they could believe in but sadly couldn’t find one.

While the right words come during presidential campaigns, the hope placed on the leader usually fizzled out when the president assumes the mantle fully, with accusations of cronyism and nepotism renting the air. Without a leader to carry their hopes, Nigerians, masses and elite alike, would after each election cycle return to their various domains, embittered and full of regrets for another four years.

The belief the country could one day become great again goes to the cooler for another 4 years. All that changed on June 12, 2018, when President Buhari gave out the special national honours to heal the wounds in the land, largely brought about by the injustice that followed the June 12 agitation.

President Buhari's graceful gesture not only rekindled the hope of a new Nigeria to Chief MKO Abiola’s family but to every Nigerian across the length and breadth of the country...

Maybe because we do not have the spots to take the pictures Or, what if we have the spots? DO we have highly competent photographers ready and willing to take the picture?

Anyway, as a photographer (still honing my skills though), I have been amazed by some of the places I have been to in Nigeria and how they value these locations. Maybe we can do more for our Nation. I think our President Buhari is doing all the best he can to make sure we have a very best to make sure we have great tourist locations. Most Nigerians are lazy yet expect magic. Nigeria just exited its worst recession in decades. After five quarters of negative growth, focusing on one resource (everything Crude oil). Most people do not know that this move was an impending disaster caused by the Good luck administration. Subsidising fuel was not the way out, because something esle would suffer for it. Thankfully, Buhari brought us out of recession and the economy bounced back. Agriculture was one of the stars of 2017, posting consistent growth levels even throughout the recession. President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated Africa’s biggest hatchery and feed mill constructed by Olam Grains at the cost of over 150 million dollars, in Kaduna. Emphasis has been on solid minerals and agriculture both of which in 2016, according to the President Buhari, grew by the last seven percent and 4.11 respectively. I ,hereby support the laudable move, Nigeria can feed herself. Wehdone Sir
SportsRe: Why I Think The Super Eagles Will Go Far In Russia 2018 by Timibabaj(m): 12:19pm On Jun 14, 2018
The NFF have actually been given a free hand to run the affairs the best without interference from Buhari's administration and I think this is awesome.

I also believe that with the freedom they've had so far, they have been able to get things right. I hope the Super Eagles team goes further than it has ever gone in the tournament.
Okonsyourguy:
The Super Eagles have finally arrived in Russia from their Austria training base for Nigeria's 6th appearance at the World Cup tournament. Already, Naija has made a fashion statement in Russia with our native white and green attire, with the Super Eagles jersey said to be the most dazzling design. Naija stay winning before the World Cup kicks off. The good vibes is a good way to blend in before the tournament but are the Eagles ready to play? Why do they usually crash out in the second round? The reason will surprise you.

Why do the Super Eagles usually crash out in the Second Round of the World Cup? The farthest the Super Eagles have gone at the World Cup is the 2nd Round and more often than not, they don't fail because of what happened on the field but what happened out of it. More often than not, the Super Eagles fail at the World Cup because of money, players' allowances and bonuses.

The Super Eagles' historic problem with playing bonuses and allowances is well documented. Bonuses and allowances helped create the mutiny against the NFF in France 1998 which led to the team fighting over money instead of preparing for the game against Denmark; the Eagles disgracefully fell 4-1. 2010 the same issue. 2014 no different. Every time the Eagles take their eyes off the ball and start chasing after money, tactical discipline suffer and we crash out. To be successful in Russia, therefore, the Super Eagles must have their final ingredient, their playing bonuses and allowances, has to be settled on time by the NFF or another tournament goes bust.

Thankfully, for the first time since the 1994 World Cup appearance, the Super Eagles have been financially settled by the NFF going into the tournament. No thanks to President Buhari non-interference and allowing the Amaju Pinnick led NFF to handle its affairs, all player’s allowances and bonuses have been provided. Now that financial distraction has been removed from the equation, how far do you think the Super Eagles of Nigeria would go in Russia2018?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Frank Donga's Table That Is Shaking by Timibabaj(m): 6:23pm On Jun 13, 2018
Buhari doing great with less! Kudos
Babayero212:
Frank Donga just dropped a new song titled "This table you're shaking".

God knows those on the table he is talking about.

But, the song sounds really cool though. I like the thought process that went into the song and I think Frank Donga should not venture into music at all.

Anyway, that is for jokes though.

Let us shake some tables. Has anyone seen some of the achievements of the Buhari administration?

Let me see if I can attach some pictures to explain what I mean.
