You have to consider a lot of things, by default I recommend Nissan Micra... check this link out for some things to consider http://www.gotoguyng.com/2016/08/buying-car-consider-these.html |
Nah only me waka come? Nah so dem dey send such to several people nah... |
MPVGoddess:I'm an outsider oh... All these awards for only me? Ayam honored! |
For me- speed is subjective, let's be more watchful and note how many commercial vehicles are able to overtake private vehicles at speed of 100kmph. Most times, what commercial vehicle drivers do is just to accelerate terribly, causing a lot of noise and the high amount of drag due to open windows in most cases gives a perception of high speed, but then they hardly ever clock speed of over 100kmph. They are reckless, intoxicated and capable of lots of other vices, but their vehicles rarely have the capability to move at break neck speeds (for me that's over 140kmph) and most roads in this country don't have long enough stretch for you to move at such speed for over 5km without an obstruction in form of Potholes or ditches or congested traffic. Here's a scenario of conversation I feel birthed the speed limiter device idea. Politician: There are lots of terrible roads but we can't afford to fix them because we have party convention coming up and my kids college funds all have to be paid in advance amongst other things, all I want now is how to avoid repairing those roads... P.A: Those drivers too are very reckless, they don't use common sense, and hardly slow down enough at the bad patches. Businessman: I heard of a device that can limit speeds oh, if FRSC can enforce vehicles to install them and I get contract to supply the device, you get 2% on every sale. Politician: *calls FRSC oga at the top who happens to be his godson* hey man, I've found the solution to your accident problems, present before the Senate and assembly a law to limit speeds of vehicles... Do your home work and do the presentation well oh, I'll make some calls so you have support of some people before you talk sef, I have a friend who manufactures them in China and is ready to ship a million units in, your work will be easier and everyone will praise you for introducing the device, and you will smile to the bank my son... *calls his lawmaker friends* FRSC will propose a bill soon, accept it for the good of our party... We'll talk more about it when we see... The above illustration is how most of our policies sound to me- like parlor ideas enforced by power drunk politicians only after their personal interests. The realities of the device 1. Everyone has to purchase an aftermarket tuning device at a cost to self 2. Even in circumstances such as terrorist attack, medical emergency and robbery the final outcome is not in your hands as all efforts have been pegged by a dummy device. 3. The government won't be held accountable for not providing car worthy roads, but taxpayers' cars have to be limit to be worthy of the unworthy road (no pun intended) 4. In a situation the limiter fails and makes the maximum speed lower the time taken for a journey and fuel consumed will be a liability of the vehicle owner. Speed limiting is unheard of and unreasonable, first fix roads and study the dynamics, then recommend speed range on various roads and probably have regular law breakers install the device on their vehicles, not just have a blanket covering on all vehicles. |

I was checking through nairaland, so I came across a thread where a guy post his reply to a scammer. So I decided to share screenshots of such messages I've seen and received, please share yours so their numbers and email addresses can be seen by all.

Good attempt, but you didn't state important points/ data (for each vehicle) which would show that you did proper research. The prevalent conditions that made you recommend the vehicles. Such as: Road network Traffic pattern General topography Presence of potholes and ditches Income class that article is meant for The characteristics of the vehicles: Ground clearance Engine sizes and fuel consumption. Average tonnage Torque, HP, RPM and maximum speed of vehicle Vehicle length Fuel type How much legroom and number of occupants Trunk space... To me the list looks like "Top ten luxury on and off road Sport Utility vehicles" Atleast one of the following would be on my list: Land Rover discovery Hummer H1 or H2 G Wagon 6*6 FJ Cruiser. Looks like a copied list which you are trying to adapt to Nigerian condition |
Not anymore sir, that's as far back as 2014. I'll help you ask around, what's your location?

Not anymore sir, that's as far back as 2014. I'll help you ask around, what's your location? |
captainking:If you stated to the mechanic that you suspect the catalytic converter is absent and you want him to check for you, it's very likely he cashes in on you not knowing the exact location if he's not a sincere person, get an alternative opinion or diagnose the car. |
DMerciful:Using solar panels without batteries required the installation of buck converters to step down voltage and step up the current thereby nullifying fluctuations. |
samuelson06:Sun is the power source Batteries are power tanks Panels are funnels with which you channel the power from sun into your batteries. The type of funnel needed to put water in a 1liter water bottle won't be as effective for a 50liter keg. Therefore the same applies to energy generation, the more you want to tap from the sun, the more panels you have to expose to the sun. |
This sells for less than $4 on AliExpress nah... |
kolomax:Comprehensive as in Refrigerator 150w for 10 hours daily TV 100w for 20 hours daily Phones 5 pieces for 10 hours each Bulbs 30w 24 hours each... That's just an example of what I'm referring to as comprehensive, the above is too vague if you want an accurate analysis/ estimate. |
kolomax:Comprehensive list of appliances, Watt consumption and proposed time each would work per day is the info to work with in designing a system, that's how you will get a relevant recommendation. |
What's his daily commute distance? How much does he spend taking public transport? What responsibilities does he cater to now (parents, siblings, gfs...) Any untarred stretch of road on his daily route? How much is he ready to spend on the use and maintenance of the car monthly? All the above are more important than the type of car he likes. Logic over sentiments. If in his shoes I'll get one of these cars: Hyundai Accent or i10, Kia Picanto or Rio, Nissan Micra or Primera or Almera, Toyota Starlet or Corolla Volkswagen Golf3, Audi A3 Anything with less than 1.6l engine... He shouldn't even price anything from year 2000 till date. An income earner of less than 100k and first time car owner should be more concerned about affordability maintainability, ruggedness and peace of mind than prestige. It's better he buys one of those to perfect his driving if he doesn't know how to drive yet, also to have his to be wife too learn to drive with it, if she doesn't drive yet too. Then sell off after sometime and add his new savings for a car he considers befitting in a few years time. Besides Kazeems go dey price him based on the car model and level of knowledge; him salary no concern them oh... Best of luck, and may the odds forever be in his favour. |
When the value of a thing is not known (in this case life) abuse is inevitable. Nigerians and overdo are like...

Cargoed:Can you give me details of the set up with the water pump capability? My whatsapp number is on my signature if you don't wanna discuss it here. Thank you |
Cargoed:10kw is not for the poor, in fact, it's more than the load of an average household. Much more. |
PstSho:Nothing lasts forever... |
cooldipo:You are welcome. 7k5, Ibadan. The maker is Lontor |
adiosgracias:You need to connect 6 of such in series to get 12v, a 12v 150a charger will do, I don't know if that charger rating is in circulation... Or in d alternative, just get any 12v smart charger you can afford... |
. |
adiosgracias:The picture isn't clear enough for me read the details, please state the voltage and Amphour, the charger should stl about 10% amp of the battery rated Amphour and should be of the American voltage rating. Eg a 12v 200AH battery will need a 12v 20A charger. |
cooldipo:This table fan is 20w with 6v batt and it rotates.
|
Penuelseun:It was ruined before you got it. A new 12V 200AH battery should hold 2400WH but it was lasting less than an hour on 230W... Which is less than 230WH. New battery loading 99%. |
Penuelseun:Are you the one who got a battery gift and poured rain water in the cells sometime ago? If yes, what exactly is the age of the battery? Sounds like your battery has a ruined cell. |
On geting to the round about close to Access Bank at Ojoo, there's a road almost opposite the one coming from the Barracks, it that leads into the neighbourhood on the other side of the road. Enter into that road and take the first left turn on that road, the paintshop is along that road. I hope this helps. |
I know a place at Ojoo, close to Access bank/ Sabo area. |
Lanjonath:What of price of an MPPT? I've come to realize the 192v charge controller isn't usable as the batteries are 26ah, meanwhile smallest charging current for that voltage rating I saw is 30a. |
DMerciful:Okay thanks... |
Lanjonath:Do you have any idea about the cost of a 192v charge controller? |
1kinggy:What's the proposed runtime and budget? |
