Christianity EtcRe: See Why You Can't Argue With A Christian by timifakay(m): 11:40pm On Aug 20, 2014
hifaif: Atheist. Let us reason, bro

Christian: OK

Atheist: Do you know that God created day and night before the sun?

Christian: Yes, indeed

Atheist: And you think that is possible

Christian: Well...

Atheist: A straightforward answer, please.

Christian: Well God created everything so he probably made it so from the beginning.

Atheist: You are not been sincere

Christian: You want me to challenge the bible?
I thought atheism is about a total disbelief in the existence of God. This post says otherwise... correct me if I'm wrong.
Here's Pascal‘s wager:

Pascal's Wager is an argument in
apologetic philosophy which was
devised by the seventeenth-century
French philosopher , mathematician ,
and physicist Blaise Pascal (1623–
1662). It posits that humans all bet
with their lives either that God
exists or not. Given the possibility
that God actually does exist and
assuming an infinite gain or loss
associated with belief or unbelief in
said God (as represented by an
eternity in heaven or hell), a rational
person should live as though God
exists and seek to believe in God. If
God does not actually exist, such a
person will have only a finite loss
(some pleasures, luxury, etc.).

Then this puts the question to what the true mode of worship is, and so far Christianity has been the best way for me it preaches love and objectivity.
Yoruba, Traditional religions are simply confusing.
Islam has several concepts i don't understand.

When did this thread turn to one in which we look for places better than another in order to defend the stark reality of our Nigeria‘s failure?
Every sector in this country has failed, and i wonder why people are laying emphasis on pyschos who shoot at random than they are on the following people:
1) Private and commercial drivers and Motor bike riders who are constantly in a chemically induced state.
2) Petrol attendants who make and receive calls while dispensing fuel.
3) Crazy and illiterate law enforcements agents, some of whom don't even know their jobs.
4) Irresponsible parents who send their wards hawking on busy roads.
5) Pot hole ridden roads.
6) Heavy truck drivers who believe all other road users must give way to them because of the size of their vehicle.
7) Expired and fake drugs producers and sellers.
cool A sect who claims to have been ordered to abduct and sell girls by “god“.

These and many more bring sudden death to the lives of several Nigerians annually.

Nigeria is so failed a country to the extent, primary school teachers help their pupils cheat, a method i know they use is by writing answers on the back of wooden rulers they enter into the common entrance exam hall with.
Instead of reading, WAEC candidates surf the internet for websites they can view the qnswers to theor next paper, they google questions right inside the exam hall.
Secondary students will find it easier to narrate 5 series to you than stating the 5 laws of motion. The list goes on but i will pause here.

The youth and middle aged prefer their lives and future in the hands of senior citizens (age 60 and above) who won't live long enough to experience the full ripple effects of our future that‘s being mortaged, than having the power to make decisions in their own hands.

Nigeria and Nigerians are just a typical example of a failed society.
We are suffering and smiling.

RANDY1: even if you have uninterrupted power supply ,good roads ,organized housing , hospitals and schools in Nigeria,in fact that would be the beginning of Nigeria's Woes .Nigeria will still be a shiithole like Detroit,West Philadelphia,Camden,Toledo,Mississippi and the rest of the black shiitholes which all have constant power, good roads, organized housing, hospitals and schools .

I have a test for black people , Here's a brand New city. it's got all the infrastructures you'll ever need ,everything is intact . take it and live in it , I'll be back in 5 years to check up on you .

no whites allowed in the city. let us see the wonders black people are capable of . give every black person in the city 200,000 dollars as a head start . I'll be back in 5 years to check what's up.
Are you talking about adults or babies?

First i have never been out of Nigeria, but i know i have seen too many ills to last ten (10) life times.
Do most people talking about crimes like shooting spree realise that if in Nigeria majority of those shot won't have lived to that age? (malaria, thyphoid, yellow fever, diarrhea, cholera, malnutrition, road accident, fire accident, building collapse, flood are a few preventable things that cut lives short)
Polio has been cured since God knows when, it only occurs in less than 10 countries, of which Nigeria is one.
Our sense of reasoning is so warped, to the extent 90% of crimes appear as normal day to day activities to the average Nigerian.
It impossible to live in this country for 6 months without seeing a corpse spending atleast 2 days by the road, you can't travel 50km without seeing an accident that occured within the last week.
Novalgene (a strong pain killer has been banned since 2004) yet you can still get it over the counter in lots of medicine stores.
Everyone knows atleast five unemployed graduates and countless under employed graduates.
Our mindset is so corrupt the average youth uses silly, annoying, unreadable fonts on their mobile and yet expect to be taken serious. Getting a new accessory to project a rich image is more important than getting an income to most youths.

Here is something i once heard. “Anyone who runs a home successfully is good emough to be a state governor because he needs every ministry in his home“
Ministry of power- generator
water works- well or bore hole with pumping machine
education- lesson teacher
armed forces- mai guard, vigilante, african insurance...
The whole system is corrupt, myself inclusive.
The average Naija person doesn't see anything wrong with all i have said, and yet says he is about the change the nation.
We do not even know what needs changing.
Will continue later as my phone's battery is low... we all know why...

Ajimobi has achieved in two years what two pdp governors in 8 years couldn't!

I hope he'll get around to building schools soon, you'll see just how better he is to those two.
Do you know the last time some school got new furniture was during Ladoja's regime? Why pitch parties against each other?

FSU: Lagos school where students study under trees
On May 8, 2013

By Bose Adelaja

In case the Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola or his aides, are reading this piece, their attention is urgently needed at Community Secondary School, Bayeku in Ikorodu area of the State. Reason? The school is an academic embarrassment.

The Governor has repeatedly promised qualitative education to Lagosians with ‘’Adopt a School Project’’ initiative where private organisations and individuals are encouraged to give public schools a facelift. Since the inception of the initiative, many schools have benefitted immensely.

Examples are Community Senior Secondary School, Tafawa Balewa Crescent; Sari Secondary School, Sari Iganmu; Dolphin Senior High School, Lagos Island and Senior Secondary School, Keffi Ikoyi which can now compete favourably with their private counterparts in terms of basic amenities like functional laboratories and information technology, modern classrooms and toilet facilities, among others.

Please do not disturb!…. Open air class study in progress

During Vanguard Metro’s visit to Dolphin Senior High School Lagos Island and Sari Secondary School, Sari-Iganmu, students and teachers were seen carrying out the day’s activities without stress as academic activities took place under a conducive environment; also, there was regular water and power supply in these schools.

But the reverse is the case at Community Secondary school, Bayeku in Ikorodu. The school is bogged down by challenges ranging from dilapidated school buildings, inadequate classrooms, non-functional library, laboratories, lavatories to late attendance of pupils to school.

Also, some structures in the school are so badly damaged that the urgent intervention of government is required to avoid further damages to the school.

The school which was founded on September 5, 1983 is dilapidated and no longer conducive for learning. With the recent 2013 weather forecast, the threat of rains has become a serious concern to students, parents and teachers, especially as learning and other activities usually come to a halt each time it rains.

Makeshift structures

Teachers and students still cannot forget the downpour of Sunday July 10, 2011 which caused the collapse of the perimeter fencing of the school, exposing them to the menace of street urchins. The school has only two buildings with leaking roofs. The buildings are complemented by some makeshift structures with few chairs and tables which cannot serve the number of students in the school. Due to shortage of classrooms, all JSS 1 and 3 students are forced to receive lectures under a tree, except during examinations when they have to swap with JSS 2 students who are entitled to some of the classrooms.

The rains have made learning very difficult for the students. Some students who spoke to VM said the last time it rained, both the students sitting under the trees and classrooms were drenched, leading to the suspension of academic activities for the day.

‘’In fact, some of us were moved from one ‘classroom’ to another which disrupted learning. The teachers were helpless as the situation forced them to stop teaching. Temporary respite came when some concerned citizens donated some building materials for construction of more classrooms but the effort was jeopardised due to inadequate fund.

As at the time of filing this report, the perimeter fencing of the school is yet to be reconstructed. Some neighbours who spoke with VM complained that some students now indulge in nefarious activities in and around the school. ‘’Their hideouts are uncompleted buildings and they use dangerous weapons freely,’’ said Mr and Mrs Segun Ayilara.

A proprietor of a private school, who pleaded anonymity, said some students of this school are cultists who visit his school with dangerous weapons to distrupt academic activities. ‘’We have reported them to the school authorities but the teachers are helpless as they are beaten up by the students at slightest opportunity,’’ he said.

When VM spoke with some of the students, they said they were already used to the situation as the school is the only high school in the community. Some of them also complained of sharp practices on the part of teachers which they said has added to the existing problems.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/lagos-school-where-students-study-under-trees/
I almost thought the students are bad because the school buildings are bad.
Why didnt this report recognise the extra efforts of the students and teachers who manage such pitiable condition (im sure their number is larger than that of the truants) hammering on the problems caused by lack of or improper upbringing like bad school building caused them.

salaksmana: Stop lying, it is not good or maybe you mean ''will be distributed''. You said it can never be jailbroken I said it can, so what makes me a pessimist or opposition. In case you all don't know, almost a month after commissioning Odidere fm, the radio station is yet to operate for just a second. All we are saying is stop making NOISE and telling LIES, do whatever you want to do and leave.
If you ask me i‘ll say what makes you a pessimst is being more concerned about those who will jailbreak than about those whom it will help study harder and perform better in exama then make it big in life nd comw back to build up their alma matter if well brought up by their parents to give back to the society.

Ok so some people think its not good to buy them cheap China laptops because the classes they will be used are not good and its best just to leave everything the way it is and line only their pockets which does not need as much rejuvenation as the educational sector of our dear country.
What is being done which is not enough is worse to what was not done at all. Sentiments?

Shut up. Rome wasn't built in a day but after 14yrs with less than $1mill annually , the Roman empire had started taking shape and conquering other empires. Lagos state has spent $3.2billion annually for 14yrs and we still see these kind of schools in their domain. Not only should the governor be hanged by the balls, you should be shut in the eye for spewing such rubbish defense for a fraudstar
Yes because the rate of exchange, cost of labour and challenges back then are exactly the same as those we face today, we can make a direct comparison of what was done then and now.
Your tantrums on all these threads make me wonder how much good you will do and how many people whose lives will be lost for having opinions different from yours if in position of authority.

BTW i wonder what goes on in your home with the way you have been shutting everyone up wanting your voice to be louder than theirs.

omongbatic: Lam Adesina (AD/AC/ACN) was also there for 4 years. What did he achieve?
So its about what the parties did not what the governors did, last time i heard only the governor received the state allocation not his political party.
From my own understanding presently: governors from ACN are better than governors from PDP. Not ACN is better than PDP, i dont know what goes on behind closed doors of any party.
