kemmyk: Hello Superwomen
Whew! It's been almost 5 years since I last posted here ..I had to scroll waaaaay back just to catch up (my thumb deserves an award at this point), and I still have lots of updates to read. I’m so overjoyed seeing the miracle babies on my timeline... big congrats to the mamas 👩🍼. And to those still on the journey, may your testimonies come soon, amen!
As for me... I’m still TTC. Yup. After 5 failed IVFs and 3 IUIs, I had to take a mental health sabbatical (because girl, this TTC journey can humble even the strongest warriors). I needed time to heal, recalibrate, and remind myself that I’m more than just follicles and two-week waits.
So here I am at 37, returning like a TTC learner (even though I once knew more than my doctor 😂 blame it on Dr. Google). Diagnosed at 30 with low ovarian reserve and blocked tubes, and now I’m here wondering what’s left of the reserve . Probably just sipping zobo and refusing to ovulate. .
I have a few questions for you amazing people:
1. Can anyone recommend a solid hospital/clinic that handles low ovarian reserve cases really well? I’m ready to do some egg banking if this might take more than one cycle (my ovaries don’t believe in overachieving anymore).
2. Any tips on hospitals that offer affordable surrogacy options? My bank account needs to survive this TTC mission too.
3. I have recently been researching more on OVARIAN PRP apparently, it’s the Beyoncé of fertility treatments now. Lots of women are swearing by it, saying it boosts egg quality and even makes your ovaries do backflips. There is someplace in Lagos that offers it but they are quite expensive...And then there’s Red Light Therapy, not just for your face, but now your womb! Specifically the near-infrared 830–860nm kind (yes, I’ve gone back to Googling....forgive me). I am currently using this and I will encourage you to do so...its so good
Ladies, please let me know what you’ve heard, tried, or seen work. I’m here with an open mind, a hopeful heart, and just enough sarcasm to get through another cycle.
Much love and baby dust! Hello dear , I can't just imagine what you might have gone through. While seeking possible solutions to the low ovarian reserve , you can consider egg donation too . I hope and pray you achieve success this time around . |

AmakaRuby: My last pregnancy, I was placed on duphaston nd bed rest for a month, I lost the pregnancy at 6months nd was queried for not using teaching hospital dat id have been on close watch nd taking it till 22 weeks nd sometimes be on bed rest in the hospital since there was threatened abortion at the early stage. So, she told me cos of the past experience, I should start taking it immediately. The more reason why you don't need anyone's advice except a Dr's . This one has come to stay , congratulations 👏🎉. |

prettyamebo: Hi mamas and expectant mamas. May we all carry our babies to full term. Please I need your opinion on something. My sister inlaws are putting pressure on me to go for massage by ijaw women, I'm in my 5th month of pregnancy. They tend to believe so much in it because they have gone through this procees before. Hubby on the other hand doesn't mind me going because his sisters did it and it turned out fine. As for me, i want to stick to the english/medical way. I do not want to do both medical and traditional. Besides, it's not like anything is wrong with me or the baby, we're both fine so why looking for wettin no loss. Just wanted to rant a bit jare. My spirit doesn't just agree with it. Follow your mind . I did but no message of baby bump till 6th month. Did it once weekly throughout because I wasn't going out much . |

tiwatope15: Hello everyone
For people that have done hysteroscopy what anaesthesia was used for you?
I was supposed to have mine last week but I cancelled it because I was told it will be general anaesthesia..
I was thinking it will be local anaesthesia or conscious sedation. Can someone please throw more lights?
Thank you. I did mine last month with local anesthesia. I was actually jittery and teary thinking it will be painful but didn't even know when the Dr finished until he said he was done . |

ganis05: March Mama,
I induced on Friday, but when the labour didn't start within 24hrs, I was scheduled for emergency CS.
Few hours after the surgery, they noticed the baby heartbeat dropped and he has low blood sugar. He was transferred to a general hospital to get fully medical attention. He was put on oxygen for 24hrs, and peaceful passed on yesterday afternoon.
It was painful to me, in all situation God still remains God. As a first time I really looked forward having this wonderful gift.
To all my March Mama's, I pray for safe delivery to you all May God comfort you at this period , may it come with ease and speed only God can guarantee... In Jesus name |

I am yet to receive your email. Kindly send me an email please, I want to clarify some things. Thank you.
I was supposed to have hysteroscooy at Nordica in November but it was cancelled a week to the procedure because the doctor was unavailable.
I was disappointed because I don't live locally and I already took my annual leave purposely for this.
Can you please signpost me to prime hospital in Abuja as their review here seem good.
Thank you Did mine in Prime Care last month. I hardly felt any pain , local anesthesia was administered. |

I will plead with my doc this time so I will sleep or any other option instead of that spinal stuff. May God help us all, Amen
My sister I was very still o during mine. I guess it is the movement from downstairs to upstairs after the cs that always causes that stuff for me or maybe just my body. Chai , sorry mama |

Bennytwin: I don't have a choice at this point. I will definitely be booked for cs. Have had two previous cs.
But why can't I remember this cs pain you are talking about. Lol. Is like I have zoned out from the whole episodes. Lmao
The only thing I remember vividly which I can never forget is the spinal headache I had after those cs!!!!!!! U see that spinal anesthesia,if I have my way,I won't take it again. I will use general anesthesia or dissociative anesthesia. All I pray for is safe delivery and health of mother and child!
Who is our cappo...when are we checking sex! I pray for a baby girl. A cute, healthy, blessed, wholesome girl that will eat abeg . May God grant our heart desires Amen! Same here , didn't experience any pain at all, I drove half way home and even danced a bit during naming with people shouting I shouldn't. Not even the headache associated with the spinal anaesthetic because I made sure to be still when it was being administered. |

kokaiye: syringe or spoon... Which is better? Cs some mamas 3years ago said dey use syringe instead of feeding bottle My sister used syringe but she never breast fed the kids (twins ) syringe will be faster but I don't know the rate of adaption to breast when lactating |
Health › Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Timitoyo: 6:56pm On Jan 07, 2025 |
kokaiye: on dis table too... Just dt i cn lactate well but my son rejected breastfeeding just because he like bottle feeding than breastfeeding because i started lactating 4days after given birth.
Me too have being thinking on how to lactate before going to labour so that i dont hv to offer bottle to my baby to reduce d chance of baby rejecting breastfeeding... I dont hv strength to b expressing milk from breast at all..
So from my little research ooo... D only way to lactate b4 labour is d normal way of expressing after birth by hand massaging d breast ir get a manual pump... But mind u it can bring on labour... To lactate well as per ur question... U r not a new mom in dis forum n must have try d ideas given here... As i dont have new ideas apart from d ones we already know. Also ensure you don't feed baby with feeding bottle rather with spoon so the baby doesn't get use to the feeder . |

tiwatope15: Mummy Neto kindly give me you email address as I want to make some enquiries if you don't mind.
I have also battled with Endometriosis for many years and it has caused me lots of adhesions. During my 2nd IVF the transfer was difficult and I suspect that was responsible for the failure. I have been recommended hysterescopy at Nordica Lagos. I have had two fibroid surgeries as well. E-hugs to you sister , I can't even imagine what you must have gone through but all in all you will come out victorious. I will advise you look towards Abuja hospitals as they have the highest success rate (Prime and Joje precisely) according to popular opinion. Also try and pay for 2 sessions at once and go for them back to back ( praying the 1st one is successful) . Waiting so long before another one makes the journey tiring and discouraging . In all, be positive, purposeful and prayerful. It will surely end in praise . |

Lesbihornest: BS
Sorry I didn't do this earlier. As a first time mom, everything still dey shock me and I am in the newborn trenches.
I gave birth at 39 weeks and 6 days. Just one day left to be 40 weeks.
I read that first babies always take their time. In fact I was ready to go for induction if she reaches 41 weeks.
I started purging a day before contractions started and by the next day night, I woke up to contractions. They were not painful, just uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep. I assumed that since I was not crying and wailing, that it is not labour. I went about my day.
My mother finally convinced me to go to the hospital and when we arrived, they checked and said that I was at 3cm. That cervical check dey pain sha I used FMC Jabi and they said they only admit into labour ward when it's 6cm. So I was admitted into general ward. The contractions kept coming and I started begging to be checked. Nobody took me seriously because I could still laugh and crack jokes.
Finally they checked again and said I was at 6cm. They immediately got me a wheel chair. I laboured for hours and when I got to 7cm, the doctor augmented the labour.
Once the drip started, I was finally relieved to enter 10cm and be ready to push.
To me, contractions are the worst. Pushing was a relief. I almost bite nurse ear when the contractions got intense. I pushed maybe 5 times and I heard the doctor say my birth canal was too tight before giving me a lateral episiotomy. After the episiotomy, my baby slid out at once. I had a baby girl at 11pm. She weighed 3.8kg and she is perfect.
They spent hours suturing my episiotomy and finally I was taken to recovery.
It was a relatively easy pregnancy and easy birth but still, I rate the whole experience 3/10. Will not recommend and definitely not doing this again. I am still traumatised
Wishing all the preggy moms a successful birth Waoo congratulations 👏🎉 , wishing you and the baby the best . |

MummyNeto: HSG or Hysterescopy? They are two different things.
If it's HSG you can do it at Clinix, ilupeju.
Hysterescopy is of two types. Diagnostic and Operative. Luth does diagnostic hysterescopy only. Omini does both the diagnostic and Operative but they are on the island. PF surulere does the both too, if I'm not mistaken. Thanks, just seeing they are different ooo. I have done HSG . Dr dare not tell me it's hysteroscopy because the pain is out of this world . |
