Medical lodge was #15k as at last year Sep, I stayed on Lagos street @Papilon hotel for #7k .

Good evening mums, please I want seek l professional opinion from career moms here.
I applied for an experienced role that involves training that spans more than 12 months in a reputable organization.
I have been successful and awaiting the final meeting with the execs. I am preggo and found out they don't accept them due to 3 months maternity leave.... I want to make a case to be considered but at the expense of forfeiting 3 months leave as I want to ask that 1 month to recuperate is enough as I'm no FTM.
I want to make the case during the meeting with the exec and not wait to be dropped after medicals before making my plea.
What do you guys advise?

It's going to be a tough one especially on the baby but I will advise you go ahead especially if the offer is hard to come by . My sister had to put her baby in crèche at 2 month , it was her 2nd baby . I also know a friend's sister who never breastfeed her twins ( got pregnant as a banker without the consent of the management) , it wasn't a good one but the twins are in the university now .You just need to sacrifice a lot for this to work .

I have my evidence, my baby girl was delivered via emergency CS due to fetal distress while I was contracting.she was born on the 14th of July 2023.
The pregnancy certainly had some complications and I was rushed to the emergency twice, I was on progesterone till past 5 months.
Above everything Jesus saw me through and I did not have lose my baby.
She is so pretty 😍 Our name has changed to mummy and daddy girls.
After 7 years of having one child , the Lord has remembered us and blessed us with another girl.

Go to any of farm store (where they sell farm equipment and herbicide) sometimes they hawk it in market.
Ask for cockroach powder, it's just 100naira per sachet, buy according to the coverage area. Pour by the edges of your wardrobe or any other place cockroach is seen. If you have to put in ur wardrobe don't forget to put newspaper on top as a barrier so it doesn't come in contact with ur babies clothes.
Its potency is abt 3weeks /1month. You can always add more powder monthly.

I actually have this at home, maybe I will remove all the clothes then put the insecticide. Then transfer the clothes back to the wardrobe.

Hi mamas, please ensure your baby is fed as soon as possible after delivery. In fact add a tin of formula, plate, spoon to your hospital list and ensure who ever is with you feeds your baby if u are unable to. Do not listen to fake nurses and doctors who say baby should not be fed and also do not allow the baby sleep for hours before feeding them to avoid hypoglycemia and possible brain damage. Don't allow them create problems for your baby. If you intend to do exclusive, u can always start when u lactate well or strong enough to do so or discharged.

True , I couldn't feed my baby after birth . I was told to get formula and feed . Baby's blood glucose was checked every hour to check if it's improving, if lower than previous reading food it's given immediately. She was monitored throughout the 3 days we were at the hospital.

Chai! It was SO frustrating as oga likes food, it became more frustrating wen one 60ml bottle no dey satisfy him @ a feed, so expressing frequently was really a big deal for the just recovering me... Night feeding nko!
Infact, I almost fought my mum for always suggesting we gt formula, I cudnt let anything not too serious jeopardize my EBF plan
To cut the long story short, just wen we wr considering getting bigger bottles,all of a sudden, baba started refusing bottle 🍼, he wl suck till he's sweat drenched, sigh, den smile
His grandma wud say; ehn en, now u know d difference....

Mama, calm down, I was also in your shoes six months ago, delivered through CS and baby must eat, so syringe to the rescue, eventually, she refused to suck, if I put her to breast, na sos so cry cry. She didn't want to exercise her cheeks muscles. A nurse actually helped me out one night in the hospital, we sat down at it, she cried and cried and I was also sweating. But eventually she cooperated, so I will still recommend you putting your baby to the breast, it's better like that, or get a breast pump and bottle feed. But when he's not so hungry, continue to put him to the breast and don't let anyone make you feel less than the best that you are. You two will be fine

I was feeding him with syringe but I had to switch to feeding bottle recently.

Am facing similar challenge, gave birth on the 30th May via CS , my sister started using feeding bottle to feed the baby despite the nurse's admonition. Now , baby prefers bottle to breast and am still not 100% lactating.

Dr advise constant putting of baby to breast before feeding with bottle .

The young man who seek counsel has the knowledge of by-passing the evils of AS via IVF. Now we were supposed to state the pros and cons of the decision.Before now , HIV patients would have been afraid to marry not to talk of having children but I have seen ( close family member) who had 2 kids despite living with HIV. The kids are free from it. I also know someone who called off an engagement because of blood group issue , she is married now to someone else with 3 kids but not happy. Science is here to make our lives better .

Ouch that's a lot , pls check any general hospital around you , a family member spent #100k at Epe General Hospital in March for hers . It's very important you do it and fast.

today at my current hospital, I was informed that Cs money is now 500k instead of the 350k I was told at the time I registered for antenatal.

Waooo , that's quite high oooo. I paid 280k for a private room in Ibadan . #250k for general room . Port Harcourt is quite pricey though .
