Health / What If I Show You 7 Secret To Prevent Arthritis by timmythorller03(m): 10:45pm On Jul 13, 2018
Arthritis is the number one cause of disability in Nigeria today, impacting approximately seven million people. It is now one of the most prevalent chronic health problems.

With over a hundred variations of arthritis, the most common one is osteoarthritis. It is a degenerative joint disease which is related to aging. The deteriorated cartilage that covered the ends of the bone in the joint causes loss of movement as the bone rubs against bone. It causes the bones to change shape, the muscles to weaken and the reflexes to slow.

Osteoarthritis most commonly occurs in the weight-bearing joints. Severe trauma to a joint can precipitate arthritis, sometimes years after the initial injury. Painkillers are effective for a while, but when the drugs no longer ease the pain some physicians recommend surgery. Nigerians undergo lower back surgery, knee and hip replacement surgery mostly because of osteoarthritis.

Another common arthritis known as rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease. In autoimmune disease, the body's immune system actually attacks its own tissue. The joints and cartilage are normally surrounded by protective tissue called synovium which produces a fluid that nourishes and lubricates the bones and cartilage.

A rheumatoid arthritic patient's immune system produces white blood cells that attack the synovium. This is what causes the inflammation, and painful swollen joints. When the inflamed synovium attacks the joint, bone, and cartilage, it causes the muscles around the joint to become too weak to support it properly. Therefore chronic inflammation is the culprit that may eventually cause damage to the cartilage and bone.

Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the most serious and disabling types of arthritis. Severe joint pain, fatigue fever, and inflammation are the first symptoms most people notice. In more serious cases, the autoimmune response involves other areas of the body such as the heart, lungs, kidney or liver.

Gout is characterized by monosodium uric crystals in the joints or tissue. It generally occurs in patients 30 to 50 years old after many years of eating an over rich diet of purine foods. When the kidneys can not eliminate the over production of uric acid from the body, levels build up causing the needle like crystals to form on the joints.

This painful disease mostly attacks small joints. The frequency of subsequent acute attacks of gout arthritis usually increases over time. A diet of fatty protein rich foods, excessive alcohol consumption, and obesity are contributing factors of gout attacks.

It is important that you take an active role in the prevention and treatment of joint damage. There are many steps you can take to lower your risk for developing arthritis, as well as natural remedies to help reduce inflammation, and other symptoms.

The conventional treatment includes the use of painkillers, and anti-inflammatory drugs. While these drugs are often helpful in alleviating arthritis pain, they may accelerate the degeneration of particular surfaces thereby destroying the body's ability to repair cartilage. Several thousand patients are admitted to hospitals every year for complications associated with anti-inflammatory medications.

Now that you understand that controlling inflammation is the biggest step in combating arthritis- here are my 7 secret to prevent arthritis:

Health / 6 Snoring Treatment Tips by timmythorller03(m): 11:49am On Jul 08, 2016
Sleeping and snoring can be a great challenge to anybody as it can become a barrier when you have to sleep out.

If you have been looking for antidotes to snoring, if you are sleeping and suffers being woken up every hour either to the sound of your own snoring, or being dug in the back and told to “Roll Over”; or if you are the long suffering sufferer of a snorer, then the following five tips to snoring treatment can be of help to you.

SNORING TREATMENT TIP 1

A time proven and workable tip to avoid snoring is to sleep on your front or side . It might not be easy though, because it’s hard to control your sleeping position when you are asleep! However, there is an old trick that may be worth considering. You could sow a walnut, table tennis ball or similar size object into the back of a shirt and wear that in bed. Each time you roll on your back it will dig into you, thus signal a measure of caution to you, hence causing you to roll back again – provided you don’t take your shirt of in your sleep.

Health / Battle Of The Menstrual Migraines by timmythorller03(m): 11:29pm On May 14, 2016
If you battle the menstrual migraine monster, you’re definitely not alone. In fact, according to a paper released just last year, “Menstrually related migraine (MRM) affects about 20% of female migraineurs in the general population.” In other words: menstrual migraines are no joke.

While there’s still quite a bit of research underway, doctors have been able to pinpoint some of the causes and, consequently, some treatments. We spoke to Dr. Linda Girgis and Dr. Curtis Glade to get the run down.

The When

While it’s not always the case, menstrual migraines often occur about two to three days before your period starts (PMS). Once your period actually starts, you’ll usually experience relief, especially several days into menses, says Dr. Glade.

The timing, of course, varies depending on the individual. You may also experience headaches during ovulation, which is about a week before PMS and two weeks before menses. Read further @>>>> Tips On Health
Health / 30 Year Study Finds No Link Between Using Mobile Phones And Brain Cancer by timmythorller03(m): 12:54am On May 14, 2016
A study carried out by the University of Sydney has found there is no link between the increase in usage of mobile phones and brain cancer.

Researchers carried out the study titled, Has the incidence of brain cancer risen in Australia since the introduction of mobile phones 29 years ago?, from 1982 to 2013 and found there was no statistical evidence to support claims that using mobile phones can lead to brain cancer.

According to the study published on Cancer Epidemiology, researchers examined the cases of 14,222 women and 19,858 men who had been diagnosed with brain cancer since 1982.

The study found that despite massive increases in mobile phone usage throughout the population in Australia, there was not a major increase in cases of brain cancer.

“With extremely high proportions of the population having used mobile phones across some 20-plus years (from about 9% in 1993 to about 90% today), we found that age-adjusted brain cancer incidence rates (in those aged 20-84 years, per 100,000 people) had risen only slightly in males but were stable over 30 years in females”, the study read.

However, the slight increase in cases that researcher found were only in the over 70 age group and started in 1982, which was before the introduction of the mobile phone in 1987. Researchers concluded that this increase in number of cases was likely to be due to improvements made in diagnosing the disease.....More at>>>> Tips On Health
Health / Why Wearing Underwear To Bed Is Bad For You by timmythorller03(m): 12:45am On May 14, 2016
It is better to let your private parts breathe at night time

Most of us will drift off to the land of nod wearing a cosy pair of jammies and many of us will also go to bed wearing our undies. Fairly harmless right? Wrong! Wearing underwear to bed is actually bad for you.

It turns out wearing underwear to bed leads to irritation and infection of your nether regions.

As a result of wearing your undies in bed, your body may become sweaty in certain areas and that can cause a build-up of nasty bacteria.

Dr Alyssa Dweck, a gynaecology specialist in New York State has warned patients to sleep minus their underwear.

“If [the area] is constantly covered – especially by a fabric that’s not moisture-wicking or absorbent- moisture collects, creating the perfect breeding ground for bacteria or yeast.”.........More at... Tips On Health

Do you know that several research work has shown that cultivating the habits of eating green vegetables such as: beans, tofu, sesame seeds, and even oranges which contain lots of usable calcium, taking into cognizance the problems associated with dairy can help you develop proper growth and development of your bones? Keep in mind that you retain the calcium better and just do not need as much when you don't consume a diet heavy in animal products and sodium, sugar, and caffeine.

Another notable fact is that all green vegetables are high in calcium. Therefore, many green vegetables have calcium-absorption rates of over 50 percent, compared with about 32 percent for milk. Allergies can produce a great deal of suffering. In America alone, around 28 million people suffer from hay fever, and that does not include all the individuals who are allergic to pet dander, dust, foods, and bee stings.

Allergies are the result of an immune response gone overboard. Substances like dust, pollen, dust mites, and so forth are not harmful like pathogens. But in the allergic individual, these substances produce an extreme immune response. From debilitating to a mere annoyance, allergy symptoms are no fun.

Thankfully, there is a place for natural remedies in allergy management. Here are some natural approaches that may help reduce allergy symptoms.
