Congratulations! So which session are you coming for now? IF it is Sep 2023, relax and wait toward July/August 2023 because you can't work without being enrolled here. You can work for 25/day as a student till the Govt changes that policy.

Good Day house, please I want to get some info about the new policy where international students are allowed to work over 20hours/week?. I applied for my study permit by November 2021 but I got approved by December 2022 due to backlog and delays, I'll be landing by march this year. will I be able to take advantage of the new policy because of the timeline of my application?.

Thanks for the messages, honestly I didn't have any issues with my medicals because my status was updated just a week after my medicals to show that I passed my medicals. From then onwards, it was delayed until now. I thank God for everything. It ended in praises.

Good Morning everyone and a Blissful Happy new year. This post will be long but I need you to help me pay attention. I am putting this information for people who are experiencing delays with their application and who've tried to communicate via email without having any progress. An acquaintance of mine showed me how to call ircc call center agents in Ottawa from Nigeria here using Viber app. Download the Viber app from Google or apple appstore and register with your number.
Before following the steps to make a call to ircc in Ottawa send a mail to these addresses individually;

In the email input your name uci and application number. Explain your current situation in the situation. When they get the mail a prompt will be placed on your application for the visa officer to look at it.
These are the steps;
Step 1:
Call this number with the Viber app: +1-800-267-6788, it's ircc client call center number.
Step 2:
Press 1 to use the service in English.
Step 3:
Press 2 to connect to ircc
Step 4: after connection to ircc, you would listen to a message for about 30 seconds just be patient till they tell you the buttons to press. You'll be asked to input your uci number if you have, just to save time press 2 that you do not have a uci. Although when you connect to the client call center agent he/she will ask you to provide your application details which includes application number, uci number and other relevant information.
Point to note: if you're calling in for someone you'll have to fill in the ircc imm5455 consent form.

Step 5:
after step 4, you'll listen another message again like step 4 be patient till they tell you which numbers to press. press 3
Step 6:
after that the next number you'll press is 1 to talk to make enquiry about your study permit application or press 2 to make an enquiry about your PR application.
Step 7: the final number to press is 0 to speak to an agent.
Point note : the client support center opens by 1pm. Nigerian time. So it's best to start calling them by 12:45pm so you can be in the queue and wouldn't have to wait too long. I tried this process and it worked for me after Months of sending mails and webforms. Even getting a gcms note now is daunting task because ATIP In Canada is finding it hard to give people their gcms notes, I feel they are understaffed and overwhelmed. When you get connected to the Call ask for an enquiry, they will give you details on the current stage of your application but don't ask when they'll make a decision on your application, they don't have any information about that and they wouldn't even tell you honestly. There it is guys I know this post is very long but please bare with me when this method worked for me I had to come here to spread the information, I hope you get your ppr sooner. Let me put a screenshot of my application to show you the how I got for my ppr, I hope it inspires you as well.

The cheap one's are united airlines but it's from Accra to Toronto. They also pass through America but you wouldn't need a transit visa, I made sure I checked that specifically

Good evening, which airline did you eventually use? I've been trying to look for affordable airlines from 10-16 January they're all going through USA and you need to have a Us visa for that.

Thanks for the update, all the cheap one's I have seen are all flights from Accra to Toronto or Vancouver. All within range of 880-900k

Happy Christmas everyone, Ircc delivered me a Christmas Package by sending me ppr on the 22nd of December, I've sent my passport to VFS Abuja where I had my biometrics. I am now waiting for send it back. Please house I want to get information on cheap flights, my school is in Vancouver so I want to travel from Lagos or Abuja directly to Vancouver as time no dey on my side. My school resumes on the 4th of January. Please how do I find and book affordable flight tickets ?

Good Day house, it's been 7 months after I did my medicals and I'm still yet to get any feedback from Ircc. I applied for my gcms notes. It said the application is still ongoing, also, the gcms note indicated that there are no refusal grounds. I wonder why it's taking this long. my people abeg make una help me. Im really tired of this canada thing, i am about to lose my mind, 5 months after medicals still no word from ircc. Now i have to defer again to january because my college contacted me that the september batch is full. What do i do please ?, i feel like giving up and asking for a refund of my tuition fees. I've sent a lot of webforms, they just come back with the same automated response.

Good Morning house, please I need some contributions to get some clarity about my application. About last year November 2021, I applied for a study permit. While applying my international passport was valid but will be expired by March 2022, after I submitted my study permit application I applied for a new international because I know the process of getting a Canadian visa is very lengthy and my passport would've expired before I get a feedback from ircc. Fast forward to February 2022, I got an invite by ircc to go for medicals which I did at IOM Ikeja. By march 2022 my status was updated to 'You passed the medical exam' . Since then I haven't gotten any feedback from ircc. I also saw on the CIC website that they have a backlog of medicals they're processing. I want to know if this delay is due to my passport renewal or the medical backlog ? Guru's in the house can also help me on this please.

Hello House, please I'm stuck in a limbo In my study permit journey,by February this year I got invited for medicals by ircc which I passed the medical examination. By march the information on my profile page was updated to "you passed the medical exam". Since then I haven't gotten any feedback from ircc, I have written a lot of webforms to the ircc to know the progress and status of my application but I only get an automated response. Please what should I do, this situation is affecting me mentally, I even had to defer my admission again to fall semester to wait for any news from ircc. Hello, You can use the Barter app by flutterwave for payment. Do not use any nigerian bank card you will risk blocking your account. The Barter app uses a virtual card that you can fund up to a thousand dollars. You can check the app store to download and check youtube on how to fund the app so you can make payments online. This should suffice. Goodluck on your application.
