Hi all,

is it possible to apply for a student visa without a copy of the reciept of payment for tuition fees. I have paid but still waiting for my reciept from the school. Someone told me i can use the telex copy from the bank to apply but i dont want to risk it. i called the school and they said it might take up to 2 to 3 weeks for them to send the reciept.
What can i do?

@Vicjustice, @ funkybaby, nairalanders

I just want to ask a question. Is it wrong for one to use a company account for a visa application? Some people have told me that it i can while others said it wont work. The company is owned by my father and i have proof to show for that and he is the sole signatory to the account. Please i need info on this.

@funkybaby,

Have you also paid the 300 pounds accommodation fee?Answer - i'll be paying as soon as i have been allocated a place which the school will inform me about.

What is the amount projected by the school for ''living expenses''?Answer-- 5,000 pounds but i also have a fixed deposit of 2.5 mill which i will be presenting the docs

What do you think will be the total sum of your parents'(mum and dad) personal account (closing balances) say a month from now when you submit your application? Answer --- it wont be much cos my Dad operates the personal account mainly to collect pension, so that of my mum and me Dad wont make much of a difference.

What is the closing balance of your dad's company account? Answer --- around 6Mill

If my uncles account is not bouyant enuff is it possible to use a joint account in my application. i.e my uncles statement + property docs + (my pops company statement + board resolution + propert docs + cert of inc + tax clearance + pops cscs investment documents). The company will state that in case my uncles falters in payment the company will take responsibility of payment. Is this a wise decision? i'll like to have your views on this issue cos im seriously weighing my options

@funkybaby, @ all

Does the ECO concentrate on the closing balance of the sponsors account? i have an uncle that wants to step in for me but he has like 2M in that account but it is well run because he works in an oil company. He has numerous property investments. Since ill be paying a greater part of my fees will my uncles closing balance affect the ECO's overall decision?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by timx(m): 12:53pm On Jun 03, 2008
@funkybaby

My Dad has a personal account but it aint fat. I guess his pension gets into that account. But he has lots of stock investments and i do have quite a few myself ans so does my Mum.

@ funkybabay

Thanks for ur reply. Do u think i stand any chance of being issued a visa if i submit a companys account statement acting as a sponsor. Its a family business and it seems the ECO did not see that i was listed as a shareholder. Ill be paying more than 50% of the fees and also accomodation. My Dad is the sole signatory to the account. I will be presenting a board resolution stating that the company has resolved to sponsor me. WHat more do i have to do to be issued a visa. Last year , i was refused when i submitted the companys bank statement along with my application

Hi, i am about to drop my visa application at the lagos vfs centre but someone advised me to submit at the abuja centre 'cos i was refused a visa last year. The ECO said he had doubts over the availability of funds. Is the abuja centre a better option for submission 'cos i stay in lagos.

Thanks a lot for the post. You r highly appreciated. After reading your post, i guess ill try n see if full payment can be possible 'cos the school issued a payment plan and i thot i'd stick to that initially. what do u think?

@ funkybaby

Hi, still waiting for ur reply on my last post

@ all

I am about to submit my application for student visa. I have 2 options to choose from and will want advice on which will really convince the ECO on the finanacial point of view

1. My Dads company statement of account ( board resolution inclusive to sponsor me inclusive) + proof of numerous stock investments + Dads personal account ( though he doesnt have much in it) + My statement of account (current account) - not too much in there o!  + accomodation & tuition fees reciept + Tax clearance certificate + Property Deeds(dont know if i should include pictures of properties) + Company certificate of Incorporation

2 Secondly, i work as an engineer in an engineering firm and want to show the Company acting as a sponsor and company financial documents submited with my application + letter from director stating the company's resolve to sponsor me with reasons for doing that (i will be studying an engineering course) but my Dad will be paying the fees!

Please do give me your candid opinion on which will really convince the ECO

@funkbaby, Viviko

Thanks y'all for the hint. i really appreciate it. I work in an engineering coy is it possible for my company to act as a sponsor while my Dad actually provides the funds. I mean my company fronting for me
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by timx(m): 1:09pm On May 02, 2008
@ Viviko

My Dads personal account has little in it. How then can i use it. It would have been easier for me to just use the personal accnt if it had enough money in it rather than beat myself up with questions on using the company account. What other alternatives do u suggest?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by timx(m): 11:46am On May 02, 2008
@funkybaby

Thanks for that post it was really incisive. Do you agree with the ty4real's post 'cuz for now my Dad operates fully with the company accnt. His personal accnt doesnt reflect much. i think his pension is always paid into that account. But to be really sincere all other things are on ground. I will soon pay 50% of the tuition fees next week and also accomodation fees to show sign of commitment. He also has lots of investment in stocks too. I have been employed for close to 2yrs, should i present copies of my payslip too? Pls. i just need you to confirm this

Hi all,

I really need help concerning this issue and will appreciate a response. My Dad is willing to sponsor my Msc programme in the uk. i applied last year but was unsuccesful but i am applying again this year. He wants to use his company account and not his personal account to sponsor me due to the fact that the personal accont is not bouyant enough. I will like the house to tell me which what other documents he will need to add to his company account to convince the ECO.

@ funkyaby, e.t.c,

Hi, i was refused a student visa last year and also lost out in the appeal but i am starting a fresh application which i want to submit by june. I want some clarification from you concerning this issues,

1. In the new visa form, there is a question that asks if the applicant has been refused visa to uk.
My question is what do i fill in there since i was refused visa (based on doubt over availablity of funds)

2. Can i pay some money into my account and submit the statement along with the application, since i was also refused
the last time based on the fact that i presented a (family)company account of which my Dad is the Director and the children are shareholders in the company. ( The board resolution to sponsor me was even included)

I really want to convince them of my genuine intention to study and will want your assistance

@funkybaby, Akolawole,

My people it hasnt been easy anticipating the outcome of my appeal. Just cant wait to ease out my work stress. I'm awaiting my determination letter which is due anytime soon and i am ferverently praying for good news. Please pray that God favours me. This is the 8th month now and my hearing came up after March 19th. Should i still hang on and wait for the letter or should i mail AIT and make enquiries about my case. Your responses will be highly appreciated,

Hi, i have been sent a notice of pending appeal. The bundle from the ECO would have reached the AIT since it was dated on 11th January 2008 ,though i am yet to recieve any hearing date. Do you have any idea how long it might take before hearing comes up? How will i be informed of the outcome of my appeal? undecided
