Hello Mamas in the House. Today makes it 5weeks I had my Laparoscopy surgery at OAUTH to remove Ovarian Cyst. The cyst was discovered in Feb 2016 when I had an Ultrasound scan before taking Clomid. Since then, I've had my period but some pain and some digestive disturbances. After taking different remedies, I made up my mind to have a surgery(first in my life) this year after another ultrasound showed another cyst on the left ovary(although after the surgery the Dr told me it was just one on my right ovary but it was big and joined to the left ovary) and I was just tired as I was not ovulating and can't be stimulated. I decided to have a Lap because I couldn't get a month off work;I just got a new job, and I did not want to be cut open . I checked at Lasuth but was told they don't perform Lap surgery only diagnostic. Private hospital was not an option because of the cut throat prices. I started my investigation and came across Oauth website, got the contact(on the website) and went for consultation and afterwards the surgery. I thank God for how everything worked out. I was favoured and helped by God. Left the hospital by noon the next day back to Lagos( my Husband drove). Rrecovery was gradual and not too painful. A 43 yr old woman also had a myomectomy that same day and was already sitting before I left. .consultation holds on Mondays in Ife Oauth and on Thursdays at Wesley hospital in Ilesha, but the surgery holds in Ife Oauth. Total cost of the surgery I would say just budget like 100k(you probably won't spend more than 80k, but just factor in extra cost).
The only downside is the stress of govt hospital if you are used to private hospital, you might find this stressful and sometimes annoying....you just have to be patient.....very patient E.g payment of bills and dropping lab samples. The Drs were very professional and they seem very competent to me.....infact some of the complain some oyinbo pple complained of on the internet, I just had a short episode of those complaints . My incisions have healed and closed and On the way to full recovery. I thank God for a smooth, successful surgery and of course safe journey to Ife and back to Lagos. You can visit any stanbic branch near you to get started. You don't need to open an acct with them.

I noticed stanbic did not add any interest to my money market acct today. I think it's because of the public holiday but is this how others operate or just stanbic?

those ones have been consistently under 20%. Even when others are giving 21+. A worrying wonder it is.

Pls I funded my stanbic money market acct with 100k and decided to withdraw 5k after few days just to test run the app and I was paid the next day. My question is, will the 20% penality come the interest 100k will give me after one month or what the 5k would have given me after one month?

Concerning stanbic money market. Since if one pays in money during weekneds it won't reflect til Monday does it mean that interest won't be added until that money reflects on Monday?

I don't know why most men are like this. You started the divorce threat first and now you are complaining. Do you think it's easy for her. Being without a child is emotionally &physically draining. I'm talking out of experience. At this point she needs more love from you that's if you still love her.You can't use because of this and conclude that she is cheating unless you are already tired of the marriage.

From experience and research, endometriosis won't allow pregnancy unless you dry the endometriosis cells a bit,I don't really know how to explain what I mean.

Many people use Zoladex for a while... maybe 3 months if it is short term or long term(6 months). I don't know which your doctor will advise.

But it is important you use an expert who has dealt with endometriosis successfully several times.

The inflammatory nature of endometriosis doesn't allow implantation so it is better you deal with the endometriosis first.

When you take the Zoladex,it ceases your period for a while. When your period returns, depending on the duration,I used 3 months.... Then you can start your IVF journey.

Yes I removed chocolate cysts (endometrioma) 2 years before IVF via open surgery, I also removed uterine polyps via hysterescopy a month before IVF.

HSG or Hysterescopy? They are two different things.

If it's HSG you can do it at Clinix, ilupeju.

Hysterescopy is of two types.
Diagnostic and Operative.
Luth does diagnostic hysterescopy only.
Omini does both the diagnostic and Operative but they are on the island. PF surulere does the both too, if I'm not mistaken.

@ MummyNeto, how are doing? I want to know if you had surgery to remove the endometriosis/ endometrioma you had before you did the ivf that gave you a positive result. I sent an email but you are yet to reply.

Keep doing what you are doing diligently while making sure you do your own research. Infact go for consultations with enough knowledge like a doctor to ensure that you understand what the doctor is aiming for and give proposals as well if necessary.


I highly recommend endometrial scratch in your cycles. I did 5 IVF cycles and the only difference I made in the last two cycles that worked is doing an endometrial scratch and taking prednisone. Someone from this forum recommended it to me and I will say it worked because after 3failures, the change gave me 2 successes.

Let me give my testimony and what I did differently.


So, my hubby and I have been trying to conceive for close to 5 years. We went to the hospital and they told us to run some tests which we did... Prolactin levels were high, tubes were okay, adhesion due to right ovarian cyst, fibroid seedlings and they said there is a possibility of pcos but they were not certain cos they found multiple follicles during transvaginal scan and I told them that I don't have pcos cos I had faith. They still went ahead and placed me on metformin for 3 months, cabergoline for a month and letrozole.. I took metformin and letrozole for 4 cycles but nothing(went back to the hospital every month and they kept on giving me metformin and letrozole) ... So, I decided to take a break for 2 months then on my own decided to continue taking cabergoline for at least 2 months, I bought vitamin E, ovaboost, omega 3... I said I was going to start taking those supplements when I'm done with cabergoline but never took them cos I wasn't even done, still had 2 weeks left.

I joined streams of joy 21days fast, joined the morning and evening prayers. I was very consistent with it, did everything pastor Jerry asked me to do cos I believed he was praying directly for me. And God did it, I missed my period the first day but decided to wait cos I've been 2days late before. The 3rd day came nothing but and the fourth so, I decided to test and God showed us Mercy.

And not forgetting oh, when I and my hubby did the do, I laid on the bed, prayed and spoke to the s**rm, my egg and womb with all my heart .

Exactly what the fertility specialist told me cos according to him the equipments used doesn't come cheap. And the also pay their staff good salary. They don't normally do free medical program in this my case probably cos many people aren't affected. Right now I'm not even looking for free treatment but a good fertility specialist not a gynecologist that can do it at a good price.
