My people, A wise man once said Talk is very very cheap and he has not been disproved; check out this news; The Deputy National Secretary of the CPC, Mr Okoi Obla, said the All Progressive Congress(APC) was committed to stopping insurgency and corruption if registered as a political party. Obla, a member of the APC Merger Committee, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that APC would win the 2015 general elections. He said that APC would wage war against indiscipline in the country if voted into power in 2015. more on ; http://www.punchng.com/news/apc-to-end-insurgency-corruption-if-registered/ |
Thank God the project had been commissioned, its good for development well done Fashola/Lagos, However, Why am I not surprise at the rate of praises here for Fashola, even when I will be made to pay through thick skin for it. I have come to know that some Nigerians are just sycophants….. QED. What’s the benefit of collecting monthly allocations and sharing of excess crude oil free fall for the states, collecting monthly tax payment and all other irrelevant dues, when they will use it or part of it or even ignore it as was the case most times here in Lagos and build projects for use by the people and the state will still ask me to pay heavily for it. If I pay for water, light, transportation, medicals, for doing my birthday or wedding party or whatever party and even using a road, then of what use is my tax payment for ??.hmmm, lets trade softly and be careful what we wish for, we might after all get it unknowingly and then it will be too late. |
Talk about double standard, They were part of the team that agreed on the state fund issue, now this. I hope Senate won't toll this line of betrayal, and its what it is, I never like this House of Rep. Bunch of hypocrite. While didn't they also suggest that the security fund given to this state Govs. be used instead, at least it would have made some sense instead. |
…To receive monthly allocation “only for salaries,” as instructed by Jonathan ABUJA — The Senate and the House of Representatives, Thursday, formally blocked the governors of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states from having complete access to their states’ funds. The action by the two chambers of the National Assembly was upon the adoption of the conference report of the two chambers of the details of the state of emergency proclamation announced by President Goodlcuk Jonathan penultimate Tuesday. Under the arrangement agreed by the two chambers, the governors and elected council chairmen will also not be entitled to the money for developments in their respective states and local governments except for payment of salaries to workers, as the money will be channeled towards the maintenance of security men deployed to restore peace in the troubled states. more on; http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/emergency-rule-borno-adamawa-yobe-governors-lose-power/ Now this is more like it my people; Good job GEJ/NASS |
Mod, I wonder why it takes ages to get this pose outer front page. This observation is good enough lesson for everyone. reality check is the rule of life. |
Mod. I do think this is front page worthy. |
You know, whatever measure you meted on another will be meted on you so said the Holy Bible, and what is good for goose is equally good for the gander.... another good saying by the wise men. when a corpse (dead body) which is not related to you is been carried across the street, it looks like a bunch of fire wood. That's why everyman shall be judged by that which he says/do.....My bible tells me so. This case is another good sample and ACF members, its exactly 3 years now when what you cooked/said is been pass through the refining fire to determine its worthiness of implementation. Case close my good people. |
Dear All, I will need an expert to advice on Ford cars (esp. Ford Escape 2003-2005) in relation to its price, fuel comsuption, reliability, maintenance and parts aviabliltiy in Nigeria. Can you advice if it can be use in Nija relatively well? Thanks, |
Bros, ANy idea on ford escape (2003 - 2005 edition) generally you can give us? Price, Maintenance, Fuel consuption, reliability etc. |
And my people are here clapping and praising the idea. So I ask, how will wearing a uniform help the Driver or his assistant and the passengers they carry on the bus in motion. Maybe the uniform will help them see clear, get the buses in good condition, not insult passengers, avoid accident, drive carefully, get proper driving lessons, obey traffic rules, not hit or scratch other road users and get unhurt (Odeshi) in event of accident, etc. They say it's a good move...... and I say, pls seek for better advice as @Madcow suggested above. |
Guys, This is what we get from the country that we live in, steal billions, say yes you did it and get to pay 1/1000 of the money and free you go. or steal any other commodity worth less than 20K and you get no option but a 5 years Jail sentence,, even with the same law in action. more on ; http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/02/man-jailed-5yrs-for-stealing-gold-earrings/ is this really poverty, decadence or just injustice?, your guess is not far from mine. |

THE public may not have heard the whole truth in the much-publicised employment of 373 medical doctors by the Lagos State government. From information available to The Guardian, the exercise is one huge web of curiosity. Reason: The doctors are casual workers in plain language as their engagement is classified as an “assignment.” Worse still, they can neither embark on industrial action nor resort to protest to seek redress. All grievances shall be resolved through mediation COntract/Agreement of Offer as follows: 1) The state government issued the letters through the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Board, the doctors’ employers, which declared that they are “self-employed” because the “terms of agreement shall not give rise to a contract of employment.” 2) “The Locum/doctor is not entitled to receive payment from the Board for time not spent on assignment, whether in respect of holidays, illness, maternity or absence for any other reason. 3) Doctors expected to perform all professional services, pursuant to the agreement in conformity with the prevailing professional standard of care and in conformity with all applicable federal and state statutes and regulations in the healthcare industry 4) shall have no right to protest or embark on industrial action. 5) Any dispute or controversy arising under this agreement shall be determined and settled at the option of the party initially seeking relief, either by mediation or by arbitration. 5) “Payments will be made to the Locum per session worked. Each session constitutes four hours work period at the rate of N5,000- N7,000 per session, depending on the Locum’s year of post-National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) experience. 6) “For the avoidance of doubt, the Locum is not an employed salary civil service earner for the purposes of claiming any pension or gratuity benefit from either the Board or the Lagos State Government.” more detailed info can be found below; http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=86774:lagos-engages-new-doctors-as-casual-workers-bans-strike&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 Isnt this a show of shame for the profession of the medical doctors................. and we expect such a one to work to their best of ability. I weep for this state. |
It is dishearten to say the least, to see people clapping on this kind of action. I don’t support Doctors or any professionally based persons to neglect their duties especially when it’s critical, however if there's an agreement between 2 people, Mother Nature requires both parties to keep to their terms of agreement. The governor has quickly replaced the doctors and brought in new ones, who will act as zombies, even when things are going wrong because they can’t shout or whistle for fear of being sacked, and we are clapping for him, when this issue will escalate to other areas, which I envisage will happen at tine “T”….and probably many people who are closer to us are affected, then our views will change. The doctors we see today replacing others, will be replace in a short while with another, once the hit comes on, because it will surely come. Before you say, its because he is a doctor, am not one..............and also don’t have any relation of sort working for Lagos Govt, but equity is key when handling issues btw 2 parties. |
Why do this ACN ranting person(Spokes Man) always coming out negatively........... whenever there's an issues with his party, he will rush to make a statement to divert peoples mind. Am still waiting for ACN to explain the hugh sum of money they raised via each ACN state to sponsor the bairthday bash for Tinubu. |
Why won't SLS predict increase in poverty level, when his Banking "transformation" only leads to laying off of bank workers. yesterday Access bank sack 1500 workers, today Ecobank is on point sacking another bank workers of similar magnitude, tomorow Mainstrret Bank is warming up to sack yet another bank workers of the same number. All this sack he already knew as such , his prediction is not prediction per say, but stating the obvious. why am I not suprise prediction indeed, please pass me the pop corn jor |
@Afam, I guess you did not read my post very well for proper understanding. I never said he did not do his calculation, what I said is that "I DO THINK" which means I assumed he had done his calculations. Bros, na whoaa for you o!!, the smart guy. |
I do think, the Governor would have done his calculations and estimations before makeing the annoucement, Recall, when he did same for the primary and secondarys, even to the extent of providing uniforms and canvass for pupils of primary school, there were doubts of how this will play out, and uptill now, the program have continued. I guess he will push this well also, and am happy for him. he is doing something that will help his people, thats the spirit, |
I asked myself the saem question, but I do know when someone said to his friend he is going to the market to buy a shoe, it only means he already have the capacity finacialwise to by the shoe. let watch and also pray for him. |

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday said a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, and his erstwhile deputy, Bayero Nafada, had no case to answer in connection with a N40 billion misapropriation charge; More on http://www.punchng.com/news/court-acquits-bankole-nafada-of-corruption-charge/ As can be seen, these guys are free as it were. The topic or headline is not misleading anything, its correct. He has recall sack workers who are not from the south east, however, I still think, the man is not feeling too good, it wont be long and he understand that he who kills by the knife does not allow machet to cross over him. |
Guys o this story, am still wondering how it all started, information is power if we can get the real gist. "GOVERNOR Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has denied appointing a bloated cabinet of 250 officials and sacking 10,000 workers in the state. Speaking with The Guardian in Lagos yesterday, the Special Assistant on Media to the governor, Chinedu Offor, said that what people referred to as a bloated cabinet was a group of volunteers who agreed to wok for the government and were formed into various committees. “It is unfortunate that people simply saw the list of the cabinet members and without asking questions went to the press and started to cry bloated cabinet,” he said." http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=57115 whats you take on this people, \ |
"The Lagos State’s debt profile, as of April 30, 2011, stands at N124.188billion, according to data released by the state’s ministry of finance. The figure was contained in an address presented on Thursday by the state finance commissioner, Rotimi Oyekan, during the ministerial press briefing held to commemorate the fourth anniversary of Governor Babatunde Fashola’s administration. The breakdown of the debt profile showed that the state government has a multilateral debt loan of N62,426,899,007.40 (calculated using an exchange rate of N156.50) and domestic loans of N61,761,172,731.97." more story: http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5702607-146/story.csp If Lagos is owning this much, where are the taxes going to: Guys I need your thoughts on this, |
The election is considered inconclusive at the moment, since 3 LGA's are still pending. The returning officer said he will consult Abuja Inec for further action. I think there might be a run off election for the 2 strong parties (APGA and PDP). |
I culled this from a post in my alumni forum, honestly guys, if there's a situation like this, what will be your take, Check out the write up below; Some people have suggested that Rev Chris Okotie & Hon Patrick Obahiagbon should run on the same ticket, but these are the implications: 'Beyond the pedantry that the two emanate from contiguous geographical entities in the national configuration which is considered antithetical to the spirit of political fair-playism, their prodigious proclivity-cum-propensity for grammatical obfuscation may not only precipitate an apocalyptic psycholinguistic disequilibrium among the proletariat, it may also emanate a pitiable dysma-pisma, a cataclysmic and lugubrious descent into a psychosomatic and syntagmatic convolulus, where highfaluting, harum-scarum grammatical coinages are employed as ballistic projectiles, thereby spreading cantankerous megalomania and linguistic malapropism of catatonic dimensions which is capable of synthesising a directionless and amorphous country for Nigerians'. You still dey laugh ![]() ? |
@ OP and All, If a Man and a woman that are married can not be open to each other, why marrying in the first place. There's nothing like respecting one's privacy in marriage. For those who that are Christians, the holy book says Both the man and the woman were unclothed and not ashamed. The interpretation of that means no privacy in marriage, everything between them should be open. If I can not go through my wife's phone or Laptop for whatever reason it is, it doesn't matter, who else should do that ![]() Whosoever wish to get married should be prepared for it if not just hold your self. It isn't a sin if one remains single. My take shaa. |
Isn't it obvious, once election time is near, we begin to hear sympathetic words to soft pedal the angry mind of the populace. And once the election is over, the Lion that assumed and or wear sheep clothing's resurface. Am not surprise at all to say the least as more revelations will come up as election day draws more near. |
LAGOS State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Saturday said that officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority were not empowered to arrest any traffic offender in the state. Instead, the governor said they were expected to take photographs of traffic offenders which would be produced in the office where arrest could be initiated, More story via this link; http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2011031512105029 Guys what's your take on this. |
It goes to show that what some people may call educated can turn out to be of no value to the system. a simple pidgin English by a wafi guy is far understood than what this man displays each time he's given a chance to say something. isn't it useless after saying something, you end up making no impart. |
But I wonder, what communication is all about, pls read below, Hon. Obahiaghon is the greatest comic relief in the country and he makes the comedians like Ali Baba and Klint the Drunk look like Sunday school teachers. Take his condolence to the Enahoro family on the death of the icon, Pa Anthony Enahoro, for a sampler. “Certainly the fall of another titan. Chief Anthony Enahoro’s modus vivendi, while he peregrinated through this will-o-the-wisp of a three dimensional world, resonated with a divine halo of an iconic personage who was propelled by the PIRKEAVOTHIAN apothegm which urges man to realize “that the day is short and the work is great.” No wonder that from a very young age, he engaged in self-abnegation and mortification of the flesh in a Spartan, clinical and cerebral bid to salvage the Nigerian project even at the expense of his health infrastructure. He ceaselessly fulminated against vagabonds in power whose primus mobile had Philitinic anchorage on a depreciably mindless crave for vacuous hedonism and ingratiating political megalomania. He must have been viscerally pained to note while he was at the departure lounge, that the ship of the Nigerian State was still nose diving and sliding into an eschewable oxbow lake and cataract and he must finally have wondered if the zoning debate currently going on is not another egregious insult by our elitist political class on the pauperized, sissified and ossified sensibilities and sensitivities of our lumpen proletariat. The only way we can honour this great man who gave his all for Nigeria is for all progressive forces to extricate themselves from the arms of Morpheus, with a view to continuously demystify, explode and pulverize the Machiavellian, Mephistophelian, primitively accumulative and rabidly sybaritic propensities of our political class, be it at the level of executive suzerainty or parliamentary Olympian aloofness. Adieu Pa Anthony Enahoro.” for more check this link below; http://independentngonline.com/DailyIndependent/Article.aspx?id=26404 |
@ etranex, I guess the instruction says something like submitting it to their office, maybe try that and if they said otherwise then you can do by post. @ drumma , Am not sure this will fly with you, however you never can tell, maybe you can give it a try. |
