It's a question of population...let's know it proportionally. |
He's being on the safe side...we're all crazy, or are we not all traumatized? |
Why would you? In what other field could you be seen to be relevant...business? |
...that's why he's your boss, I guess! ![]() Lighten up guy, God dey. |
sheedy407: U don see wen carpenter dey predict d duration of julius berger to finish road?Abeg make dat man focus on his congregation.I'm not entirely comfortable with men of God telling the outcomes of "unplayed" matches, but I believe you've missed it as prophesying is foretelling what through God they know would be as oppose to what you think will be. In prophesying you need not know anything about the subject matter. Sorry for the lecturing tone. I also believe there's nothing wrong with having an inquisitive mind but we should learn to draw the line...especially when we cannot factually disprove... |
Some Nigerian politicians will never learn or are programmed to remain stupid. How on earth will you believe in an agreement that is designed to deny somebody his constitutional right. One 'll really have to be stupid to enter into such an agreement knowing fully well it holds no ground in any court of law. |
Why Fashola? What can he possibly do in this case? Commendable though! |
What's the meaning of that.. |
Greatest Eagles! Enemies have been shamed. ............congrats Burkina Faso for putting up a good fight. |
...and there continue their descend into the abyss. Tomorrow shall tell of today. |
...and the party 'll turn PDP! Then the real PDP 'll become the new beautiful bride 'cos they'd say: the bad eggs have been expunged and trust Nigerians to be sympathetic. |
...hmmmm, some people and their obsession. |
What is that in barrel terms? |
There! I knew it and I so said Many a time have I been hooked In fear did I depart the thread 'Cos I dread my heart to be spooked Still my thoughts duel on the lines My fragile heart sparks 'n glows in them As the bee to the flower flies I yielded completely to its rhythm Back 'n behold their numbers increased And the streaming of their art seduced They beguile, excite, tickle and tease Why then should I escape from such a grip That led me through the nostalgia of my youth And opens mine eyes to see the beauty of a land A distant land that holds the promise The promise I so longed and eternally dreamed A dream of endless happiness and bliss Sweet is poetry to the gracious mind! |
...when this started their neighbours tacitly supported them. To them it was all about Jonathan. How true are the words: "...now they've come for us and there's none left to defend us" The Malians saw what was coming, they cry out to the world and help came their way. The Nigerian "core north" heard rumours of help coming their way, they swore they'll never have foreign troops on their soil...(scratching my head). |
What!? ....well if you mean as a Nigerian. |
Long I'd love poetry Long to it I feel drawn Like the moan of harlotry Lures the lonely at dawn The poet tells me of the hills Of the beautiful flowers on the plains And birds singing down the valley My heart he makes sing the melody Of even a stream flowing by Isn't poetry a sweet dream That leaves one cocooned in fantasy Isn't it only an ecstasy That harlotry cannot promise the chaste Yet I stop not to swoon at his words Eternally in hope of that abode A world where if firestar offers a hand That hand can be felt; its warmth embraced Oh how I wish the poet's world were real. tinkinjo 2013 |
Mynd_44: For your mind abi?Pls do acknowledge the source...it gives one power and all! |
Let them have a name first then I'll know where to stand. Let me quickly add though that I'm not impress with the names being bandied about. I even hear rumours of a polished party on the way. |
Congrats Nigeria. |
I hope CAN would not descend so low as them...Ignoring these tweets I believe would send a better message 'cos as the Lord says: The Battle is His. |
How I wish Nigeria have more of this moment...I feel joy going through these comments. At a time like this one notices the unity in the atmosphere... |
A collection of Nigerians each acting individually can. I don't like it when people talk as if elections are a forgone conclusion. Come to think of it, only he can stop himself - by not fulfilling his promises. |
Oh, so much for the suffering of women and children. After the onslaught by FG, after the attack on Emir of Kano, after the Mali campaign,...let's say the turf is longer a good playing surface. |
val_dee: El rufai, next time please use mohammed. He wouldn't dare! |
...showed resolve! Kudos to him...misses Nadal though! |
If true, sad development. |
Absolutely Nigerian! ...the kits, the guns, ...but wait! How much do these guns cost? I mean the type the French are using. Meeehhhn I love those. |
aribisala0: FIRSTLY GET ONE THING CLEAR LAGOS STATE WAS NOT THE FEDERAL CAPITAL> A COMMON ERROR BUT WRONG.BEFORE IT WAS CREATED MOST OF THE STATE WAS IN THE WESTERN REGION.AFTERWARDS A PART NOT THE WHOLE WAS THE FEDERAL CAPITAL>THERE WAS STILL A WORKING STATE GOVERNMENT WHICH ACTUALLY BROUGHT JULIUS BERGER TO NIGERIA FIND OUTI don't claim to be a good student of history, but I know for a fact that the major dev. in Lagos only took place during the period it serve as the Federal Capital. A glance at the federal budgets (and what was allocated for dev. plus the projects undertaken in Lagos) during this period 'll give you an idea of what I mean especially knowing also what constituted (and still) federally generated revenue (80% oil revenue). I asked you a question which you are yet to answer. Let me ask another: Why don't we have the same hoteliers and estate developers attracted to say Edo state as Abuja? You can find out the nos. of businesses that have opened in Abuja and compare same with states that have existed before it. Before you borrow facts from your history books, what you have as the Lagos Colony was not the making of "Lagos people" but the whims of the colonialist and that led to it becoming...(ur guess). Just like Ogun state for instance shouldn't say that the companies springing up there is of their own doing (which actually 'cos of it nearness to Lagos), Lagos people shouldn't beat it chest for what they never set out to achieve; though I think they should be allowed to enjoy it. Again, while our economy requires diversification, we should thank God for His many mercies. Goodbye! |
aribisala0: When was the seaport and airport in Lagos built? When I say Lagos airport I mean MMIA. Please take no offense but I think you've totally lost me. Let me help you. 1. Lagos can now survive without oil money. (That was never in dispute). 2. Lagos can now survive because of the structures that oil money through federal presence have help put in place. 3. Without being the former federal capital, most of what give Lagos the leverage over other states wouldn't have been established in Lagos in the first place. 4. The companies, population, and the attendant commercial activities in Lagos all came by way of its attraction as a federal capital city. 5. ...and so on! Again the Kano and Port Harcourt airports can't be like Lagos' 'cos they aren't Federal Capitals. (Believe me had Nigeria practiced true federalism, there would've been places with better airports than the federal one in Lagos). And when I said industry I mean entrepreneurial spirits as exemplified in the mentioned communities. (note that these communities are almost 100% indigenous) |
aribisala0: THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON FOR LAGOS'S PROSPERITY IS ITS LOCATION BY THE SEA.A lot more has been put in Abuja and much quickly but Abuja will always be a financial burden taking rather than giving.Lagos's location by the sea is UNIQUE in Nigeria everywhere else from Ogun,Ondo to Cross River is hostile to Large Vessels.Lagos pays its way in terms of VAT,duties and Ports revenues(sea and air) to the Nation and was a huge earner of revenue before Independence.I don't think you've gotten my point. Granted Lagos have this and that, or is this and that,or pays this and that. But the point I'm making is: Lagos is what it is because of what it was. At the risk of repeating myself and FYI the seaport, airport, etc were built by the federal govt and with OIL money. Or would you rather list the things that Lagos have achieved with its own funds that other states have not or even more? I repeat all that Lagos is including its population is as a result of the attration it held as a Federal Capital Full stop. And to answer you question: Aba and Onitsha are more deserving because of their industry. And before you start it, I'm not Igbo. |
Sometimes ago I was always championing the cause of one Nigeria where the issue was discussed to the anger of most friends and relations. Today though all hope are not lost, after coming to terms with what happened before, during, and after the 2011 elections, I've learned to keep my tongue in check whenever and wherever the issue rears its head. And with statements like this, I've become the scorn of many and there's no point saying that so long would my tongue remain in check. |
