Atreides:That's one long a/s/s bini name! wow! @Atreides, do you speak bini? Omosigho - Child is greater than wealth (which is true! Children are huge gifts/blessings from God, ask a woman looking up to God for a child, ) Oghoghosa - The joy of the lord Osamagbe - God is good Osaretin - God is power Iziengbe (hope I got the spelling right) - Patience Nosakhare - What God has said/destined (No man can change your destiny but God) |

W Gemma11:Would you have been able to pronounce Xi or Qui? That aside, have you ever bothered to ask them if thats the name on their birth certificates? Trust me, the answer will be NO! There were some in my class at uni that had english names but whenever an attendance list was passed, Anne will write her name down as Xi Quang. why ![]() |
This is the same question I ask new generation parents. How many English people bear African names? I have heard of people adopting foreign names simply because their foreign friends can't/couldn't pronounce their names and if you ask me, that's the most stupid thing to do. How many Irish people will adopt Yoruba or bini names simply because their Ibo friends cant pronounce their names? Do you expect someone that bear Eoghan to change his name to Kola I bear a very powerful bini name which i write boldly in all my official documents but to make life easy for my foreign friends, I have shortened it as opposed to taking up an English name. And those who claim their English names are christian names, what happened to Osaigbovo, Oreofeoluwa, Chukwuma, etc? aren't those christian names to? Thank God my folks didn't give me an English name to say the least. |

God has been faithful. He's kept me alive thus far despite my inadequacies. He has provided for me financially, emotionally, academically and spiritually. I thank him for seeing me through my MSc studies and providing my dad with adequate resources to fund my studies, pay my rent and upkeep allowance. He's been really good to my family. Lord, i thank you and give you all the glory. I know you that saw me through 2009 will do greater things in 2010. Amen! |
unisex bini names -------------------------------------------- Osaretin = God is power Imuetinyaosa = I put my hope in God Osasenaga = God is worthy to be praised Osahuemwenwen = God loves me Efosa = God's wealth/gift Uyioghosa = God's glory Eseosaosee = God's gift is great Osahon = God hears Osamudiame = God is with me Osaze = by God's will Osamagbe = God is good |

I wont spend so much money in the first place. I have done my research in preparation for my future big day and i've decided to get my dress sewn in china as it costs very little ($150+). By doing this, it wont hurt to use the dress to mop the floor the day after the wedding ![]() |
