Here's my story:
We started dating December 2011 after we hit it off at a mutual friend's birthday party. I moved in with him April 2013 so we could always be together. We've been having a nice relationship though we occassionally fight as expected. On the fateful day, I rushed back home after I forgot a vital document as I rushed off to work. There is an underground plans by the movie marketers under the aegis of Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, FVPMAN, to blacklist Mercy Johnson Okojie,, in what they call, “ Withdrawing of service from her.” A highly placed source who disclosed this latest move against the Actress to HVP, said, the association decided to take this action, following the ‘unbecoming attitude of the actress as it affects her work.”

According to our source, members of the association met last Monday, in Onitsha, Anambra State, to fine-tune plans to blacklist the actress who recently returned to Nollywood after months of being away in the United States, where she gave birth to her first child. Shedding more light on the reason for blacklisting the Actress, our source disclosed that the marketers accused Mercy Johnson of forming the habit of disappearing while on location after she has been paid for the job. She was also accused of given them difficult conditions.

However, the source further hinted that the marketers have vowed to sanction any member who disregard the decision to blacklist the actress. He also revealed that the leadership of the association has advised its members to release all the films that Mercy Johnson featured in, on or before January, 2014. Meanwhile, efforts to contact Mercy to react to the allegations proved abortive as her cell-phone was permanently switched-off. Recall, however, that upon her return to Nollywood,Mercy was bombarded with several scripts from different marketers and producers who wanted to get her on their movies.

Yang Hu was so fed up with not having a girlfriend that he chopped off his own penis -because he had no real use for it. A team of Chinese medics have given a teenage girl a new face after growing it on her breast. Xu Jianmei, 17, was left horrifically disfigured by a fire when she was just five-years-old. When three-year-old Ikeoluwa Olaniyi was playing with her friends in her grandfather’s compound in Ire Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos, on September 3, 2013, little did she know that death was lurking. PUNCH Metro learnt that a teenage motorist, Chinyere Wagbaranta, in company with her brother, Chisom, and a police corporal attached to Police Mobile Force 22, Felix Adebayo, in a Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle, drove into the compound carelessly, hitting the little girl and crushing her skull.
The victim’s grandfather, Adesola Elegbede, who spoke to our correspondent while fighting back tears, said Ikeoluwa was his first grandchild. He said, “Ikeoluwa lives with me and my wife. Her father works in a bank and her mother works with an accounting firm, which are both located on Victoria Island. Ikeoluwa attends a school in Ilasa, which is not far from our house. She stays with her parents during the weekend. “On the day of the incident, I came in and saw her eating yam just outside the main door and told her to go inside. A few minutes later, I wanted to go to my friend who lives a few houses away from mine and Ikeoluwa attempted to follow me but she met some of her friends playing in the compound so she joined them.

“A few minutes later, I heard a loud scream that Ikeoluwa had been crushed by a vehicle in the compound. I ran to the scene and observed that the side of her head had been crushed. I saw the vehicle that hit her but the occupants had fled. I carried my granddaughter to Good Health Hospital, where she was declared dead.” Elegbede said he immediately ran to the Isolo Police Division to report the matter and it was there that he met the culprits. He said Chinyere drove recklessly into the compound because she was on a mission to fight one of his neighbours. He said, “I was told that Chinyere and her brother hired the Police Mobile Force member, who is attached to a bank in the area, to escort them to our compound to fight one of my neighbour’s children.

“They drove recklessly from Ire Akari Road into my compound and after crushing my little girl, the armed MOPOL aided them in escaping from the scene.” The grandfather said four days after the incident, Chinyere’s parents, in company with the Divisional Police Officer, Isolo, Adamu Ibrahim, and a chief in the area came to apologise over the incident, urging him not to pursue the case. Elegbede, however, berated the police for not handling the case professionally. He said, “When they came to visit me four days later, I was shocked that the DPO escorted them to my place. Why should the DPO be pleading on their behalf, telling me it was the will of God? Anyway, I told them to go and beg Ikeoluwa’s parents because I am not her father.

“On September 9, the DPO called me again saying the Area D Commander at Mushin wanted to see all the parties involved but on getting there, the DPO told us to return to his own station. “When I noticed that the case was not being handled properly, I asked the DPO to transfer the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, but he refused to do this. “I am aware that Chinyere is 18 years old and is an adult. I have already started hearing that the police want to manipulate her age, get her a fake affidavit and give her a soft-landing. I will not accept this.” The victim’s grandfather said life had not been the same since the incident occurred.

While pointing to the spot where his granddaughter’s blood was shed, he said, “I cannot believe this. We are still in shock. Her mother has had to take leave from work and travel out of the country to take her mind off things. Imagine us losing such a pleasant and brilliant girl?” When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the accident to our correspondent. Braide said the matter was reported as a fatal car accident and that Chinyere had been charged to court.

A 35-year-old woman has told how she has never felt sexually attracted to men or women. Julie Sondra Decker from Tampa, Florida, revealed that she started describing herself as 'nonsexual' at the age of 15 and when she became aware of the term 'asexual', she changed it. The outgoing blonde says that she's had more offers of sex than she 'wants to count' over the years but, 'without the feelings that usually go with that sort of thing, it's kind of gross.' Hmmmmmm! 'I have very close friendships but don't want a significant other. I don't want to find another asexual to be roommates with. 'As far as I can tell I'll be happy being single my whole life.' In a YouTube video, Miss Decker says that as a young teenager she kissed and cuddled both boys and girls. But she concluded: 'I never found anything that floated my boat.' She says that her family were convinced that she was a 'closet lesbian'.

Before she went to college her mother even took her to the doctors because she wasn't expressing 'normal' interest in the opposite sex. Given the all-clear she carried on with her studies, graduating from the University of Florida in 2000 with a degree in elementary education and psychology. She said despite there being more awareness about asexuality today, it still remains largely misunderstood. She's had male friends try and 'fix' her by kissing her against her will and many insist that she will 'wake up one day'.

Since opening up about being asexual on the internet, via YouTube and her blog, Miss Decker says that she’s received death threats and been told by several commentators that she just needs a 'good raping.''When people hear that you're asexual, some take that as a challenge,' she told the Huffington Post. 'We are perceived as not being fully human because sexual attraction and sexual relationships are seen as something alive, healthy people do. 'They think that you really want sex but just don't know it yet. For people who perform corrective rape, they believe that they're just waking us up and that we'll thank them for it later.'

Miss Decker says that asexuality presents itself in many forms. Some people, while lacking sexual attraction to any gender, may engage in purely romantic relationships. However, she defines herself as 'aromantic', meaning she does not have any romantic feelings either. Professor Bogaert, an associate professor at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, suggests in his book Understanding Asexuality, that around one per cent of the world's population - 70million people - are 'asexual. He believes that this demographic are 'under-studied' and that they can feel excluded from our 'very sexualised culture'.

Experts say a certain number of asexuals may have always existed but are only now starting to 'come out' as society becomes more liberal. To her ‘haters’, Miss Decker concludes: 'I'm not damaged, lonely or in need of a conversion because I'm not interested [in sex].' She hopes to raise awareness about asexuality through her writing and public speaking. '[I want] people who feel similarly to know they're not alone.'

Achieving legendary eminence never comes on a silver platter but that is what one of Nollywood’s icons has become. Olu Jacobs, often times referred to as the granddad of Nollywood has achieved great feats in the industry beyond standards he probably set for himself.
From the old days of the mid 90’s when he acted together with Omotola Jalade and Emeka Ike in “Day Break”, to some of his most current movies, the style and class he brings into his roles is second to none; from the trademark roaring voice when he is angry and intent on creating mischief especially when he gets offended or his child goes contrary to his commands, to the sweet and fatherly affection he displays when pleased, Olu has remained the same person and kept true to his core acting values that has made him beloved by many.

In the years that have past, some of his age mates who were legends in their own rights that to great Nollywood achievements including the likes of Sam Loco, Enebeli Elebuwa, Pete Eneh, and Justus Esiri, have all passed on. So it is worth at least recognizing his great feat over the years and bestowing on him an award deserving of his status.

Even before that happens however, the legend has already received a sculpted statue of himself and Olu can certainly take pride of this because he deserves it. Congrats, Mr. Jacobs.

Associated Airlines’ aircraft technician who was among the five survivors of the October 3 crash that left 15 people dead in Lagos has passed on. He died at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos, where he had been receiving treatment. The development brought to 16 the number of dead victims of the ill-fated plane which crashed while conveying the remains of former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Agagu, from Lagos to Akure.

Sources at the hospital said the technician, Mr. Samson Fatoye, died at about 7pm on Wednesday. Fatoye, who suffered severe burns from the crash, had been treated in many hospitals before he was finally taken to the Gbagada hospital. The sources said Fatoye died few hours after immigration officials from Abuja arrived in the hospital with electronic data capturing machine to prepare passport for the survivors to travel overseas for further treatment. Our correspondent however learnt that the remaining four survivors, including the two cabin crew members, were captured, using the machine.

The remaining survivors, it was learnt, might be flown to overseas any time soon. However, there were allegations that the survivors had been neglected by both the government and the management of the airline. There had been reports that one of the surviving flight attendants, Mrs. Quinneth Owolabi, whose 10 toes and five fingers were amputated days ago, had been in severe pains before and after the surgery. The National Cabin Crew Association had reportedly appealed to the Federal Government to fly her abroad for treatment to avoid the amputation.
Serving and retired cabin crew executives had expressed anger over government’s refusal to come to the aid of the victim despite the appeal made by NACCA and the family.

Spokesperson for the group, Mrs. Blessing Efe, had reportedly said that Owolabi would have been saved the trauma of amputation had government heeded her cries. Efe said, “It is unfortunate that no help came when Quinneth needed it most. Her toes and fingers were amputated three days ago (four days today). Imagine the trauma she is going through at the moment. “We want government to always support people who survive air crashes because the accident is not their making. “We are trying now to sensitise the public and government on the need to assist those who survive air crashes. It is not easy to survive air an accident.” The second surviving cabin crew member, Miss Toyin Samson, was said to be in a stable condition at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where she has been on admission.
