Ahead of the 2015 general elections, Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo has told the Independent National Electoral Commission that his Bachelors and Masters degrees certificates in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, have been consumed by fire. The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party’s papers were received and stamped in INEC headquarters between December 10 and 18, 2014. The VP’s declaration was validated by two letters from the ABU. The first letter, signed by one Alhassan Garba for the institution’s registrar under the title:

“To Whom it may Concern: Mohammed Namani Sambo,” read, “I certify that the above-named person having completed an approved course of study and passed the prescribed examinations was awarded the Bachelor of Science (Architecture) with Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in 1976 by the Senate of this University. His original certificate got burnt. Please treat his case in view of this certification. Thank you.”

The second letter, also signed by Garba for the ABU registrar, read:

“I certify that the above-named person having completed an approved course of study and passed the prescribed examinations was awarded the Master of Science (Architecture) on May 25, 1978 by the Senate of this University. Wow! I am so excited! This morning while I was on air (Nigeria Info 99.3 FM) on Morning Crossfire, a man, Ajibola, called and was lamenting on his challenges – his friend whom he was living with gave (him and his family) till December 31st to move out of his house. This puzzling situation made his birthday, yesterday, unbearable for him. I was moved by his story …

Usually I do not permit callers to give out their numbers on air but for some strange reason, I let him. After he gave it out I remember telling him that he should not give up, that God is never late. I encouraged him that God can still do it even if he just has a five days before the deadline and even at the last minute, God could still perform a miracle in his life.

A few minutes later, he called back elated that after he dropped, a certain woman (whom he named Angel) called him to offer him a 3 bedroom apartment! Yes, just like that! He was so happy and I was happier that I heeded that inner voice that made me permit him to call out his number on air. I have since closed and I am already at home and he’s still calling to talk about it on the radio!

Just like Ajibola, its still not too late for God to work miracles in your situation! Just trust Him. He is never late!!! May God richly bless the woman wherever/ whoever she is!

International students Anastasia Tutik, 19 (right) and Miguel Ramos, 18 (left), the son of a prominent Mexican politician, died after falling from a flat in Deptford, south east London, where they had met earlier the same evening in June at a party. An inquest at Southwark Coroners’ Court was told they were seen ‘kissing and cuddling’ moments before they fell off the balcony (inset). Neighbour Blessing Adedoyin told the hearing:

‘She was sat and the man was in between her legs, which were open. Nobody would ever sit on the ledge, it’s dangerous and I was surprised that they were. Nobody who was sober would do that.’

Coroner Dr Andrew Harris said alcohol was chiefly to blame for what he ruled was a ‘tragic accident’.

A 44-year- old woman, Clara Dominique, who had been childless for 18 years, was last Saturday delivered of quadruplets. The quadruplets are three girls and a male. They were delivered at the Graceland Medical Centre in Benin City, Edo State. Mrs. Clara, who got married in 1996, said it was God’s grace that kept her and her husband through the trials of childlessness. She said they refused to keep friends because of the problem.

“I am happy that my husband and I were able to stay together to this day to witness the blessings of the Lord. My husband has been encouraging me that God will do it for us. My husband never contemplated driving me away.

“I was happy when the scan showed it was four. Sometimes I think of how I will carry the four of them. I have not seen somebody delivered four babies. It was not easy for me to carry the pregnancy. At a time the weight of the pregnancy was too much for me.”

“I was the one dedicating children at our church every last Sunday of the month. I was the first to visit anybody that I knew that gave birth so that I can give them what I have. I am not the jealous type.

“It was my husband’s cousins that tried to take the matter up but my husband stopped them. My parents were also there to encourage us. That was what kept us together because the family pressure was not there. They knew we were Christians and nobody could penetrate my husband and I.”

One of the doctors at the hospital, Dr. Oni Samson, said the babies were delivered through cesarean section. She said,

“You don’t expect a woman that is having multiple births to do that through the vaginal. This is the first time we had quadruplets in this hospital. The children are okay. The ante-natal was uneventful. They are still under care for them to be stabilized.”

In Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim majority country, thousands of Indonesian pilgrims travel to the Gunung Kemukus, otherwise known as ‘Sex Mountain’ in Central Java, to have sex with strangers as part of a religious ritual. Dateline video journalist, Patrick Abboud, whose story is set to show on SBS, got to uncover the incredible life on top of the mountain, given unusual access to what goes on. Mr Abboud says every 35 days you have to perform sex seven consecutive times for the ritual to work.

‘It’s a pretty bizarre story. A few years ago I read a piece about it and looked into it, it took a while to get there,’ he said.

And what he found he described as ‘incredibly surprising’. He further said …


‘More shock of the sheer size of the place and thousands of people, up to 8,000 on a busy night. It was hard to make sense of it, after being there it took a few weeks to digest.’

The ancient ritual dates back to the 16th century and is a regular meeting of ritual believers participating in sexual acts, with the view that it brings good luck and fortune. From married men, housewives, government officials and prostitutes, there’s a variety of people who participate. And for a country and religion where sex out of wedlock is taboo, Mr Abboud says the idea of a mountain top sex ritual for Muslims in Indonesia seems very strange.



‘Back in the 16th century, a young Indonesian prince had an affair with his step mother. They ran away to the mountain and had sex and mid coitus they were caught, killed and buried.

‘There is a shrine there now and because they didn’t get to finish the act, others believe that if you do, fortune will come to you, most people like poor farmers who want to get ahead in life.’

He says he saw no Westerners there but people come from all over Indonesia to see if their luck would change.

‘It’s a Javanese ritual which is very different to the Muslim world, very different to everywhere else in Indonesia, the beliefs are a blend of Islamic, Hindi and Buddhism,’ he said.

So popular the ritual has now turned into a tourist attraction for locals with the government charging people to go there, with stalls and even buskers.

‘It’s a bit of a carnival. It’s contradictory, the government knows adultery is happening yet they’re preaching something different and turning a blind eye,’ he said.

While Mr Abboud, who was fascinated by the ritual, said the only problem is that there is more men than women and in turn it has become prime territory for commercial sex workers. He even got propositioned himself by a sex worker whilst filming but said he quickly declined the offer. He said seeing inside doings of the religious ritual, it seems very controversial.

‘I think there’s a growing contradiction with Sex Mountain, there’s the prostitution, so how it is possible this is all being condoned by the government and religious leaders.

The one thing is the problem of sexually transmitted diseases, there’s health clinics set up at mountain. I talked to a doctor and he said most sex workers have sexual diseases and men don’t use condoms, so HIV is on the up.’

The Dateline video journalist was lucky enough to follow some pilgrims to the mountain and talked to them about their experiences.

‘It took a lot of convincing, as it is adulterous, I followed them, some came by boat or motorbike, from right across Indonesia and I had access to friends and people before they got there.’

Mr Abboud followed a female pilgrim called Mardiyah who was a widow and for two years had struggled financially. Living in a small Javanese town, she had just completed her mission of having sex seven times when he was there.

‘She said business become better and made more money, it’s maybe proof it does work. I met a male pilgrim called Gepeng, and his friends but he didn’t want to kiss and tell.’

‘One of his friends said they went for fun and karaoke, another said he does go for the sex ritual but didn’t want to say too much because he didn’t want his wife to find out, but felt his life would turn around.’

He also described another pilgrim he met that also didn’t want to talk too much about it in fear of his wife finding out.

‘It’s Incredibly hard to get women talking, obviously cheating on their husband.’

While he found the incredibly bizarre sex ritual confronting and rather ‘awkward’ to film and talk about, he said there was nothing unsafe or dangerous about it.

‘Quite beautiful prayers, they give beautiful offerings of flowers, at the grave of shrine people get teary and pray for hours on end. Never felt in any threat, it was a nice environment.’

He did however feel what needed to be mentioned is that the religion was not specific of Islam.

‘It’s not something to demonise the religion,’ he said, ‘it’s not strictly Islam as we know it. You’ll never find any ritual like this in any part of the Muslim world and Indonesia, Javanese interpretation is much more liberal.’

It seems years of drug abuse now have a lasting impact on Eminem's face. As the rapper spoke at the Wall Street Journal's Innovator Of The Year awards in New York on Wednesday, he looked haggard and gaunt. Eminem's drug abuse started during the filming of his movie 8 Mile, when he was on set 16 hours a day and could not sleep.

After being given an Ambien he sought out a prescription, and became hooked on the pills. This soon led to him taking what he calls a 'ridiculous amount' of pills - he has admitted to abusing prescription drugs Ambien, Vicodin and Valium. He went into rehab in 2005 and then took a three-year break from his career, before releasing the albums Relapse and Recovery. In a documentary, How to Make Money Selling Drugs, released last year Eminem revealed that he nearly died from his addiction when he was hospitalised following an overdose.

'Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died,' he said. 'My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. 'They were gonna have to put me on dialysis, they didn’t think I was gonna make it.'

After his release from hospital Eminem only managed to stay off drugs for a month before relapsing. But having spent time in rehab, and with the help of friends, the 42-year-old has his life back on track. He is gearing up to release his double-disc album ShadyXV featuring stars including Slaughterhouse, 50 Cent, Big Sean, DeJ Loaf later this month.

And on Wednesday his surprise appearance saw him honor his former mentor Dr. Dre and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine for their entrepreneurship.Taking to the podium, Eminem stated: 'Dre and Jimmy are like a force of nature.

A woman from Little Rock, Arkansas, is now recovering after a bizarre chain of events that led doctors to find the tongue of a deer lodged into her vagina. The Arkansas woman, who’s name has not been released, went to her gynecologist complaining that her discharge had a “very bad odor.” Her doctor performed a typical exam checking for several different issues that could have been causing this problem. All tests were negative.

The doctor was not at all concerned about her complaints, until the results of the pap smear came back. The report indicated that the cells taken from the pap smear, were not human. It could not determine the origin of the cells: all they knew was that they were not human cells. The doctor requested that the woman come back for a repeat exam, and to discuss the findings.

During the exam, the doctor inserted his speculum, and scooped out a large piece of loose, decaying flesh. The doctor was disturbed with what he had found.

“During the exam, I was utterly shocked with what I had found. Never in my 33 years of practice have I seen anything like this,” Dr. Lee told the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology.

“What I removed from the woman, looked like a long tongue, but certainly not a human tongue. Then, what she admitted to her husband after the exam, was even more disturbing.”

The woman finally confessed the dreaded details to her husband. After her husband’s recent hunting trip, he brought home a deer and gutted and dressed it in their garage. She admitted to seeing the tongue, admired its length, and had snuck off with it to use it as a pleasuring aid. She didn’t remember leaving it up there.

BBC reports that Cristiano Ronaldo claimed a hat-trick of honours after being named La Liga’s 2013-14 Player of the Year at the LFP awards on Monday. Ronaldo received the top gong in recognition of his stellar campaign last season that saw him score 31 goals in just 30 matches for Real Madrid.

The Portugal captain also took out the Best Forward award and Best Goal for his incredible backheel against Valencia in May.

“I have to thank my team-mates, Real Madrid, my family… it is a very good moment in my career. For me, the important thing is to win collective prizes, but I like the individual ones, too. I work every day, in training, to continue adding more to this.” Ronaldo said.

The 2013-14 Coach of the Year went to Argentine Diego Simeone after defying the odds to guide Atletico Madrid to the La Liga title last term. Atletico remarkably topped the standings ahead of fancied duo Barcelona and Real for their first league crown since 1995-96.

“I want to share this with my players, without whom none of this would be possible,” Simeone said afterwards. “Thanks to Koke, Gabi, Miranda, (Thibaut) Courtois… and everyone who made it possible to win the title.”
