Romance / 6 Qualities You Must Have To Attract An Independent Woman by tinziemaine(m): 6:27am On Oct 29, 2015 |
An independent woman first loves doing her own
thing, hence the name. When it comes to
relationships, dating a woman who’s independent
is a different ball game.
Not many men can handle an independent
woman , some feel overwhelmed by her qualities
and may walk out at the end of the day.
But if you think you can handle an independent
woman and are willing to have one in your life,
here are some top qualities you must possess,
according to Lifehack.
1. You shouldn’t feel threatened : Some men
feel intimidated and threatened by independent
women. You need to understand that her
independence doesn’t make you lesser than she
is.
2. You should know that her life goals are
more than just settling down with a
partner: She wants more in life and great ideas
on how to achieve that feat would be welcomed
from you.
3. You should be there in her time of need:
Not like an overbearing father, but as a pillar to
lean on, source of encouragement, listening ears
and source of good advice.
4. Learn to give her personal space:
Everyone loves to have a ‘me’ time. A private
time for your woman would make her cherish the
times you are together more. Pestering her with
calls and messages in her alone time would drive
you both apart with time.
5. You should know that your relationship
isn’t a show of power: There’s no need to
prove you wield power over her, she understands
that. Your relationship should be more of a
partnership than a power struggle.
6. Communication is key and king: Be an
effective communicator, concentrate on the
future and don’t dwell on the past. This will help
in understanding yourselves better. |

Education / The Difference Between Being Rich And Being Wealthy by tinziemaine(m): 5:21pm On Oct 27, 2015 |
Being rich and being wealthy seems to be
synonymous as both involves having a lot of
money. However, there’s a big difference
between the two. If you notice, there are a lot of
so-called ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes but there are
no ‘get-wealthy-quick’ schemes.
The main difference between being rich and
being wealthy is knowledge. Wealthy people know
how to make money while rich people only have
money. Rich people are motivated by money but
wealthy people are motivated by their dreams,
purpose and passion. Most rich people make a lot
of money with their paychecks but the moment
they stop working, they also stop making money.
Being wealthy is defined as that status of an
individual’s existing financial resources that
supports his or her way of living for a longer
duration, even if he or she does not physically
work to generate a recurring income.
For example, if a person’s monthly expenses
amount to N 25,000 and he only have N 100,000 in his savings, his wealth is
approximately four months or 120 days. Wealth,
therefore, is measured in time, and not in amount
of money that you have. It suffices to say that
wealth is dependent not only to the amount of
income but also to amount of expenses one
makes.
Wealthy people can build sustainable wealth that
can last for years through asset investments
producing multiple streams of income.
Rich people, on the other hand, may get money
in an instant such as inheritance or winning a
lottery. However, because of lack of proper
mindset and poor money management skills, all
of it can be lost in a short period of time. It makes
sense that if you did not work hard to earn and
build it, then it can just easily pass on your hands
and splurge it on things which are not important.
Some of these people are more commonly known
as ‘one day millionaires’. Now they have it, the
next time they don’t.
Wealthy and rich people both may experience
downfalls and failures in their ventures. However,
because wealthy people are knowledgeable when
it comes to money matters, they can start all over
again and build wealth over time. In contrast, rich
people may find it hard to attain what he or she
previously has. In essence, wealthy people are
financially free while rich people are not. Cc:lalasticlala |

Religion / Is Smoking A Sin? by tinziemaine(m): 2:55pm On Oct 25, 2015 |
Nearly one third of all adults smoke tobacco, even
though, thanks to education programs, it is now
common knowledge that smoking is harmful.
According to the World Health Organization,
smoking is the leading preventable cause of
death. Nearly one tenth of deaths worldwide are
attributable to tobacco; one fifth in the United
States. Knowingly damaging our body flies in the
face of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, which states that
our body is the temple of God and has been
bought with the blood of Christ. We are to glorify
God with our bodies, and to do otherwise is sin.
But is this the only go-to verse that relates to
smoking?
"'All things are lawful for me,' but I will not be
dominated by anything." 1 Corinthians 6:12b
This is a hard verse because it means not only is it
a sin to voluntarily start a habit that is addictive,
it is a sin to continue under the influence of an
addictive substance. Addiction is measured by
several characteristics, including the severity of
withdrawal symptoms, inducement to continue
use, the need for more drug to reach the same
effect, difficulty in quitting, and the degree of
intoxication. Although studies vary—heroin,
cocaine, methamphetamine, alcohol, and caffeine
often fighting for the #2 position—the most
addictive drug is nicotine—the active ingredient
in tobacco.
"Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry." 1
Corinthians 10:14
People do not start smoking because they want to
get sick and waste a lot of money and smell bad.
Most smokers started smoking in their teens. And
most started because of peer pressure—they
valued the opinion of their friends more than they
valued biblical principles. They also may have
sought the image of being rebellious and cool
more than they sought finding their identity in
Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17). The opinion of the
world is a powerful idol, but we are exhorted to
flee from it.
"'All things are lawful,' but not all things are
helpful. 'All things are lawful,' but not all things
build up." 1 Corinthians 10:23
To edify is to encourage intellectual, moral, or
spiritual improvement. In no way does smoking
accomplish this. It insults the intellect by insisting
that "looking cool" is more important than good
health. It rejects morality by encouraging others
to become enslaved. And it definitely harms the
smoker's spirituality. An ungodly influence creates
a stronghold that can weaken a believer's
relationship with God.
"Let no one seek his own good, but the good of
his neighbor." 1 Corinthians 10:24
The American Cancer Society estimates that, in
the United States, 50,000 people die from
secondhand smoke-induced ailments each year.
Up to 300,000 children get lung infections (like
pneumonia or bronchitis), and up to 1 million
develop asthma because of secondhand smoke.
These are victims that are close to the smoker,
whom the smoker presumably cares for the most.
We are called to love each other. But smoking,
like many other sins, hurts those around us.
The Bible is not meant to be a list of dos and
don'ts. It is the living, active Word of God that
equips us to determine the best way to love God
and love others. Although the Bible does not
address smoking directly, it's clear from several
verses that smoking does not accomplish the will
of God. In that, smoking is a sin. |
