Talk of misplaced priorities.

Its the duty of the fed govt to donate and it has.
How come Fash is not helping poor peoples of Nigeria but saw it fit to donate to a country that the entire world is helping?
Who should donate to millions of Nigerians below poverty line?

Talk of misplaced priorities eh!

Another confused and irrational self promoting naija person. Why not just address the issue without launching an unnecessary attack on America. You're either so self-centered, or you just don't understand what the issue is here.
How can you accuse me of self-centeredness when I was supporting my homeland whilst you're supporting a foreign country.
Abi u be American? If you're American what the fukk are you doing in a Nigerian forum? Try American forums and see how many times they remind you of your "Niggerness".
I laugh in  Congolese language.

I have a feeling that most Nigerians know this but they have accepted the questionable term Hausa/Fulani. There is hardly any difference between that term and a claim that Igbo/Ijo is one ethnic group. Very erroneous.
They are known as the Hausa/Fulani and if they are not complaining who're you to complain.
Politics › Re: Was Awo "Omo Chicken"? by TippyTop(op): 9:34pm On Jan 18, 2010
There has always been and will remain 3 major tribes in Nigeria:
Hausa/Fulani
Yoruba
Ibo.

Am with chosen04  on this one.

Awo said IF the eastern region is allowed, Is that not a conditional statement? A statement of declaration was made but Gowon did not allow the East to Leave Nigeria.
Are you accusing Awo of naivety?
Do you want me to believe when Awo made the above statement he thought the eastern region would be allowed to leave the federation no questions asked?

Kenezi:
However, my stance here is, if homosexuals were to gain the right to get married or whatever, by following the same logic, incest, bestiality and other such must be legalised. Otherwise, it is an aberration and double standard of the law. I don't agree with the flavour of the week morality some places in the world have taken.
For foxx sake Children and animals can't agree to sex so stop comparing it to homosexuality where the individuals concerned agreed to be buggered. Get it?

In civilized society Omo chicken woulda resigned from politics and never to be heard of again.
In Nigeria he ended up leading the second largest tribe, what does this say of the Yoruba people?

"If the Eastern Region is allowed by acts of omission or commission to secede from or opt out of Nigeria, then the Western Region and Lagos must also stay out of the Federation, "

I had forgotten this quote until I saw it on a post by Sapeleguy or someone else,(can't remember).

Did Omo chicken  deliberately push Ojukwu to war, knowing the west would benefit from the war?
Is Omo chicken  an embarrassment to all Yoruba people?
How can he give an undertaking only to chicken out at the last minute?

And when the Eastern region seceded what did Omo chicken (Awo) do?

People stopped taken Yoruba people seriously on matters of secession since that statement was made.

Indeed, a US diplomat was last week quoted as saying that the mysterious absence of Nigeria's ailing President from the diplomatic scene at this critical juncture has been largely responsible for the impasse between Abuja and Washington DC. The veteran diplomat had asked rhetorically: "Where on earth is Nigeria's President in all this, "
America should butt out of our business, Nigerian diplomats don't go asking where's Obama.
Politics › Re: America Is Working To Destroy Nigeria by TippyTop(m): 8:16pm On Jan 18, 2010
Kudos to you my friend cos most Nigerians lack the brain to analyze anything, they see salvation in America forgetting the US does everything for its own interest. These mo'fukkers woulda destroyed the world if not for Obama. America is a rascist enclave.

Nigerian civil society is also playing its part.

4 Play:
You are a complete fool.
You're a bigger fo.ol if you can't have a civilized debate.

Whether the US funds the opposition is besides the point. The most important thing is that their cause is just.
What of other just causes like  Burma, Zimbabwe,Tibet etc?
I bet the above countries don't have oil for the US consumers and do not directly threaten the US satelite state of Israel.

A di*k head like you could not see the strategic importance of Iran to the US,  cos you're blinded by an embarrassing loyalty to a state that you have no real pedigree in.
You're a disgrace to your progeny.

@Mariory

I wrote
I'd rather they do it themselves
You replied thus:

Are you then trying to suggest those protesters who are dying in Iran are doing it for American dollars? Doesn't make sense.
Your reply was so way of the mark (I'd still answer it nevertheless).

People protest if they feel an election has been rigged e'g Zimbabwe and
there are protesters dying in Tibet, Gaza etc, I don't see the US showing as much zeal as they do here, do you?

Do yourself a favour visit bawomolo's link and you would better understand what am driving at.

I think there have been papers released that suggested the CIA did play some part financially just before the last revolution. Or something along those lines, I will see what I can dig up.

Personally, I have no problem if that will see a shift of power from the current Mullahs running the country at this point.
I'd rather they do it themselves. Iranians have a stake in the betterment of their country's future. The only stake the Western world have is for the steady flow of oil. They really don't care about Iranian citizens and you know it. Why didn't America interfere in Burma, Aung San Suu Kyi has been a virtual prisoner for years.

I trained as a Biomedical Scientist - and I am still training [It is one of those jobs where it is a life long training etc] - and given the lack of infrastructure at home, it is almost impossible for me to work effectively. For example, a basic analyser cost almost about £50, 000 and things like Micro assay can range from £10K upwards, then there are things like consumables that are needed daily to allow for analysis in the first place.
If you were serious in wanting a change you'd use  the equipment other Nigerian Biomedical Scientist are using.

You see under those sort of conditions I will not be effective and feel under achieved.
You won't feel underachieved because you would save more lives in Nigeria than in the UK. Your experience of the Western world would help in educating other Biomedical Scientist.

Anyway, you can see why people like me actually want a good Nigeria, but I am not so sure if Nigeria is ready for a Good Nigeria if you see what I mean.
Nigeria is ready but not enough heroes wanting to make the requisite sacrifice in making Nigeria a good Nigeria.

I second everything cap28 stated. The same leaders will destroy any sector that is thriving be it the Oil sector or the the Agricultural sector. Oil should be a blessing and not a curse.
Angola came fought a 27yr civil war till 2002, but take a look at what "Oil money" should do if used well.
This war ravaged country has bounced back on the back of oil money.

Opinions please? Oh I know a lot of people will gladly point fingers at America for "orchestrating" the violence there. Could this be true?
Are you funding it? Every one knows the US through the CIA channel's money to any opposition ready to sell their country to the highest bidder. Am no fan of Iran and it's revolution but the best the US/UK can do is to remain neutral. I didn't see the Iranians financially supporting John Kerry when G Bush stole the American presidency.
