Since we're incapable of deploying earth-moving resources, can we at least send down able-bodied men-of-steel like Dejo Tumfulu to help transport the goods? Doctors and other volunteer workers? |

Most African countries are ruled by THIEVES! Our so called rulers don't give a damn about their own people so how can you expect them to give a damn about Haiti. All they are interested in is sending their stolen money to Swiss accounts, sending their children to school abroad, buying mansions abroad, going for medical check ups abroad and like our Presidon in Naija and IBB's late wife the latest craze is to [b]DIE ABROAD. |

The UK and China each have a team of 60 in Haiti, Nigeria has a team of 120 helping with the effort. Nigerian civil society is also playing its part. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/guest-articles/announcing-a-nigerian-diaspora-fundraising-effort-for-haitis-earthquake-victims.html |

SapeleGuy: This will at least help to exonerate us (Nigeria). The rest of the world think we always want but never gives. Kudos to who ever sanctioned this gesture. |

the list has been updated though people are afraid to put Nigeria's contribution there. Many other black African countries including Ghana, are promising future contributions. Senegal is offering free land to Haitian refugees, according to that wiki page. That's an interesting development. Shouldnt Congo follow suit with something of that nature? Just wondering, but they do have ties to haiti. The situation in Congo may not allow that sha- its probably more dangerous there. |

Response by national governments http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Response_to_the_2010_Haiti_earthquake the page will be updated further in coming days, (I assume). Hope the information there is accurate and not another attempt to glorify some and villify others while people are dying and in dire need of help in haiti. |

Tippy Top: Who knows tomorrow? I may die abroad, I may die in Nigeria, for goodness sake I may even be blown out of the sky by another Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab! Where I die is irrelevant. What is relevant is a country of over 120 million people with billions of dollars in oil resources yet majority of our people don't have access to basic healthcare and where the wealthy, ex presidents and our current Presidon run ABROAD for the healthcare of themselves and their families. Shameless idiots! Those of us wey dey abroad wey dey work hard and earn honest living, no be us steal and waste the billions of Naija money wey ordinary electricity, water and healthcare no dey. I love Nigeria and our ordinary citizens but I HATE our useless and brainless government. |

Re: While The World Helps Haiti, Not One Black African Nation Has Helped by bluespice(f): 12:00pm On Jan 17, 2010 |
paddy_lo:when we said presence, we were referring to an official representative pre-earthquake i.e an embassy or chancery. |

Nigeria has done the most for Haiti, but the world and multinationals don't want people to know! Nigeria contributed over 14 million barrels of oil to be sold and funds distributed for people in Haiti. in the news I cant find a thing, Why? where did the money go? where did the oil go? this is something people and the world needs to know! The shadow governments are not telling whats going on! Let's as people and researchers find out where 1.2 Billion dollars of oil has gone! Find the truth and you will see that Nigeria (A Black Nation) did the most, however to what pocket did it go. Who or (WHO)(UN)(NATO)(FEMA) or One World Order in general have something to do with this, because you can not move this much "Donated Oil" without Banking and oil processors. |

Well, apparently, Nigeria has sent a cash donatuon of $1.5 M already to Haiti, and has since pledged a further $5m for the reconstruction of the country. plus a further pledge of $3.5m for medical supplies. http://www.apanews.net/public/spip.php?article121333 |

What about TB Joshua and his Emmanuel TV partners who have opened a clinic there and have donated clothes and assorted items. The Emmanuel TV team also helped to clean up heaps of waste usually left behind in market places by our Haitian brethren who are apparently unconcerned about health hazards from decomposing left-overs. TB Joshua is from Nigeria. |

people helped out in Haiti becos it was an emergency and Haiti did not and still don`t have the capacity to cope with a natural disaster of that magnitude. That said, African countries do not need help from other countries, the natural resources and man power required to turn around the fortune of the continent is available right here. what we lack is inspired and credible leadership. maybe the day we start demanding more from our leader then we will see prosperity in the continent. |
