msb247: Guys, my Applicant ID in the profile is in the form of NNPC/EHS/****** but I noticed that the application confirmation slip I received via email in pdf format has the Applicant ID in the form of NNPC/EH/****** though the unique number remains the same.
Did anyone notice this? (pay attention to the bolded and compare). What could be the issue? Which one is correct?
I suggest you all check yours too and compare the ID on your profile and that in the email sent after submission. (see attached image) Hello I checked mine. Both confirmation mail and application slip was /EH...... |

He he he he he he he... congrats. I will be using Same POE, same airline. olajay5: Good people of Nairaland,
Thank you all for the wonderful contributions to this thread. I am sure we are learning one thing or the other. How I wish I know about info like this earlier, guess I would have done a lot of things differently. My DW embarked on a missionary journey to Houston, so I wish to share her POE experience. She left aboard a Turkish airline and landed around 7:30pm Houston time and below is her encounter with the CBP officer.
CBP: Good evening, may I have your passport DW: Evening madam, here please (extending her hand to hand over her passport) CBP: Why are you here? DW: To have my baby CBP: Looked up, frowned her face and murmur something like "why are many people coming to have baby in the US lately?" (at this level, DW said she almost passed out because the same woman has sent 4 of the last 6 people who she attended to for second interrogation/screening) DW: Kept mute as though she didn't hear what the woman said. CBP: Any Doctor's correspondence? DW: Quickly forward the appointment letter from Dr. E CBP: Threw the letter aside and said this is unacceptable. Any other correspondence? DW started scrambling through the envelop with her to get out the mail exchange between her and the doctor. Then the CBP said, just bring the whole envelop. She collected the envelop, remove all the documents and started looking one after the other. She saw my DW's mail exchange with the doctor, read through it, read through the change of intent letter, my own documents such as bank statement, she looked at the bank statement from page to page, read our Nigerian's doctor's letter and started the questions again. CBP: How much cash did u have with you? DW: $$$$$ and have more money in my card (brought the cards) CBP: Who is responsible for your bills DW: My husband CBP: Where is your husband working? DW: Bla bla bank CBP: If you are having an elective CS, how come nobody accompany you? Why is your husband not coming with you? (CS was stated in the doctor's correspondence) DW: My husband is busy at work as well as taking care of the children but he will join me later towards my EDD CBP: Will your husband be coming? U need to confirm that DW: Yes please CBP: Looked at Nigerian doctor's letter again and said, Oh! Your doctor recommend quality medical for you DH: Yes CBP: Make sure u pay all your bills and welcome to America DW: Thank you
So she went to pick her luggage and zoom to town as a friend was already waiting for her.
My DW however have a challenge with Dr. E. I will come back to you on that. |

Congratulations dear. I am of the opinion that this US immigration policies are not same for everyone. What I mean is that, the fact I had this case and was treated this way does not mean that if someone else has a similar issue the same measure would be applied. Following your mind is equally as important as being truthful. Congrats MrsSugar: Hello all Just want to thank you all for the tips i read on here.I want to share i had a successful interview today at the U.S. Consulate after declaring i was going to birth in Houston and to the glory of God was granted my visa I don't know if anyone remembers my story from the first time i applied for visa and said would like to spend 40days on tourist visa just in feb last month but was denied?I posted my transcript. Well i applied for a tourist visa then to go for a graduation being pregnant but concealed nicely in a big dress though wasn't asked if i was and didn't declare even though truthfully i wanted to travel for the purpose of birth.I was given an almighty blue rejection slip lmao. So barely a month later i decided to apply again but sought advise here first though everyone who commented after i posted the transcript adviced me not to bother, telling me i would definitely get a no.That i should have my LO here wait a year b4 reapplying, others said it would seem desperate others said its a hopeless case and truly my case was a mess. Regardless,i was convinced in my heart to give it another go.This time applied for a medical visa ,armed with correspondence with doctor plus her letter of acceptance hubby and i already made a small deposit for doctor's fee and went there for interview and 2min later came my white paper. It was only God because i had truly just 2.8M naira in my account!yes o They didn't ask for a single document!God showed himself to me today like he has never before!I'm still shaking even now. This just goes to show if you're convinced in your heart about something especially when you believe God has directed you, follow through. He always sees you through |

I think it's the branches you went to that do not have dollars. I don't think it's about the bank. I know someone who got PTA today from sterling bank. I enquired of PTA from GTB here in PH and was told only 2 branches in PH handles it. I think it's wrong for you to be turned back saying no PTA. CBN gave guidelines and that all request be treated within 24hrs. I will advise you check another big branch to tender your request. oyin3: I have been to 4 banks in all today(Gbt, Skye), No Pta, is this a new development? Anyone got pta recently, and where? |

Good evening
I have a question please. When I applied for visa, I did a reservation for an extended stay apartment. During my interview I was asked if I would be staying with a family and my response was no(since I did not have anyone to there aside friends). Now, a friend is willing to accommodate me at her house. What do I fill on my immigration card? My reservation address or my friend's address. My reservation has not been paid for. I was to pay on arrival. Kindly assist. |

I bought my ticket through wakanow. When I saw your message, I quickly, called Turkish airline to confirm, I Was told I could fly at 35weeks+ with a fit to fly report from my doctor. The wakanow agent that helped me get my ticket also said 32 weeks. I think you should contact the airline directly. kellylicious: It was in Lagos.
Is anybody having same problem as mine regarding flight booking? Wakanow said no airline will carry me if i am above 32 weeks. They said it is a new rule or so. I called airfrance and they also insisted on 32 weeks. Can anybody who recently flew at 33 weeks and above inform me the airline she used? |

Good Morning. Please is Houston North West Medical centre one of those hospitals? Because I asked for fee and was told 2k. Wasn't told if it was discounted or not. I only mentioned that I am a self paid patient. lomwe: I have been silently following this tread and wish to add some clarifications having lived and worked in America long enough. Please take every discount a hospital gives you for "self pay" or the one a doctor gives you for his service. A discount from a doctor is simply a shortchange on his labour to get more clients. Nothing concerns government inside. We all know by now that hospital and doctors fees are distinct and separate. We also know that Doctors don't deliver in their clinics only in Hospitals in which they are consultants.
However, i think the misunderstanding is going to some community clinics like Access Health, Hope Clinic, Ben Taub etc and getting a hospitaal dicount of the basis of "low income earner". This is where the problem lies for two major reason
1) When you declare a low household income to fit into a the poor American dicounted healthcare, you are invariably saying you are working and making income (those hospitals don't bother to check your immigration stauts) This voilates your B1/B2 visa. 2) It also means such individual has made a recourse to public funds. Remember these low income clinics will at the end of the year during tax file your name as one of those they provided healthcare to and ask government to make up for half of the money you did not pay. Government will then check you out and find out that it was a foreigner who has made a recourse to public fund. These process may a take up to a year or two but surely it will come out. So please avoid it except you don't mind a subsequent ban to US.
Thank you. |

Thanks for the information. I have not given birth in the USA before. That is good though. Meaning that the "first Visit" will be at the hospital. It's okay. Provision for extra cash is in place. I've been reading of many people getting crazy bills. So I am ready for them. I sha will not use the hospital's pediatrician of 675USD Shawbabe: Nope. U are wrong. You have to understand all the steps for this project so u dont get there and face bills.
All newborns are seen by a pediatrician. She meant getting one from outside the hospital schedule that day but affiliated with the hospital. Then it'll be cheaper. That's what I did with my first baby. And I paid $120 against the $1000 the hospital would charge if they give you one themselves.
Note when u get admitted for labor, you have to fill your pediatrician's info and contact on your admission form so they call him/her when baby is born, unless they'll give you one on call that night and bill you high. |
Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by titileps: 12:32pm On Feb 24, 2017 |
Of course it's after discharge. If your baby does not need NICU care I don't think you need a pediatrician. Babies are moved to Nursery after birth. Then you can take your child to see a pediatrician later. But if you want to use the hospital'so pediatrician, you will still have to schedule an appointment with them after birth. our babies will be healthy by God's grace. So there won't be need of using the hospital's ped Chanbaby: I don't think this ur paedritician story is authentic cos u are not allowed to bring ur paedritician from outside. Maybe it's after discharge u are talking about. |
