as regards the bolded, please if you dont have cash in card dont say you do. my wife's host was giving us a gist about someone who was escorted to an atm to confirm and was denied entry when they dint see cash.

BE WARNED!!!

reniduke:

4. Then I got sent to secondary check where i was getting nervous for nothing. Officer said he just wanted to tell me I had done well by notifying the embassy in Naija and then he calls two of his colleagues to read the email the embassy sent them about me, then he starts to gist me about two other women who lied about pregnancies and how they were denied entry. I make all the right, "ehn ehn", "oh my" sounds and he says i should keep it up, honesty and all and ensure my hospital gives me a clear bill before i leave. He Asked how much i had but did not ask to see any proof even when i told him i don't have cash only card (must be my angelic face).

Time to give back on our second POE and child birth:

DW got fit to fly from a Govt hospital and also did port health at the airport, paid 1500 Naira at MM1
On the 2nd of March, DW flew Qatar airline with 14 months super active son and mom to Dallas, had a lay over in Doha accompanied with a hotel.
Got to Dallas about 15:25hrs

DW: Good day sir,
CBP: U welcome to America, how was ur flight?
DW: Fine thank you
CBP: can i have your passport?
CBP: what are u here for?
DW: to have to baby, (CBP was surprised)
CBP: How much do u have
DW: $8k
CBP: Make sure ur pay ur bills and keep your receipts, gave her passport without stamp

While exiting the terminal another CBP intercepted her can i see your passport? DW gave him her passport then told her to follow me (secondary inspection).

CBP: What are you here for?
DW: to have my baby and vacation
CBP: why are you always coming here to give birth? infact i will write to the embassy.
DW: told him it is not a crime to give birth here.
CBP: How much do u have on u?
DW: $8k
CBP: how much is your bill?
DW: about $6k
CBP: That is too little
DW: because i am a self pay patience. Now asked him (CBP), How much did u pay for your childbirth
CBP: about $12k
DW: Because your are using insurance right?
CBP: oh...yea that is true
CBP: stamp her in for 6months.

After getting Tarrant county temporary ID, becos DW sis leaves there. However, she was able to get two Doctor's appointment, check up and also paid for the VD hospital & Doc's fee at (JPS) $4,500.

During one of her routine check up they noticed she has High blood pressure and wanted to admit her, she refused and signed against medical advice. DW told them she knows the reason, that she needs to rest a little. Thereafter, the result was okay.

On the 28th of march the hospital Director saw her records and called her to come for delivering of the 30th which was against what she agreed with the other doctor's to come at 37 weeks. She went on the 30th and was 3cm dilated, she was given oxytocin which now helped her dilated upto 5cm for more than 7hrs. On the 31st of March DW gave birth to twin girls miraculously at 36 weeks plus 2 days, she gave birth thru VD when they were about taken her into the theater for CS. DW and Lo's are doing great, they were discharged on the 2nd of April.

i give thank to the Almighty God who made it possible. No Pre-nursing, No NICU, No CS, No Epidural. Baba God thank you.

Expectant mom, Your case shall like the Hebrew woman in the Bible.

Breakdown of the other bills, will be coming in soon. paed, lab work etc

Hi Mrs sugar, im in houston too. got in on wednesday. the flight via emirates is looooooong. i have never experienced such in my life, my last US trip was on United airlines so 17 hours direct from Lagos, while this one was 30 hours total, abeg it was a lesson in endurance, food was pfft. I'm just 32 weeks so ds your KLM must have been sweet for una with 36weeks belle.

Anyway, our POE story is similar and since i cant figure out how to type on nairaland unless Im replying someone, lemme just state where mine was different from yours.
1. I flew emirates, They asked for my fit to fly on emirates.
2.when i landed in houston, no body asked for a single document, not doctor's records, evidence of payment, like nothing, all my papers stayed in my bag, and i found myself asking them, sorry, is that all?
3. First officer asks what im here for, i say maternity leave, he says ure pregnant?!?, (cos i dont look it, if you're not looking for it), he asks if anyone is joining me later, i say husband, he says cool. any food, i say no, he says- not even egusi, I say not even that. Then i ask him if he's had egusi before, he says- does it taste like mangoes? i laugh, i tell him what it is, he laughs and says, sorry to keep me further, but i just need to see one more officer.
4. Then I got sent to secondary check where i was getting nervous for nothing. Please anyone with accommodation ideas in Chicago?

Preparing to travel in a few weeks. What are the things I can buy from here that will help me during my stay in the US.

What baby things are preferably bought here and which are preferably bought in the US?

What food stuffs are allowed and which aren't allowed please?

What outfits and shoes can the mother get for the short stay?

How do one get a fit to fly from port health and what procedures are carried out at the port health?

Thanks

justwise.. what I do? you don't ask of me sad

*clears throat*
ladies and gentume

mama twins wanted to run away to america for sometime to get her sanity back after the twins has showed her two years of endless pepper.
I applied for visa via Dropbox. my passport was sent back asking me to come for follow up interview.
I packed all the burden of proof I could, from land to sky. I carried three full folders while wondering if they just wanted to know if I was going back for childbirth.

I got to the embassy (abuja) and noticed there was tension everywhere o. then it was my turn

"passport please" in my mind I was like shu! no good morning and fake smile again? I gave him.

"how many times have u been to the u.s"
"when you travelled you had a baby?"
"how much did you pay"
I told him,
"3600 for Dr, 4000 for the hospital cos its twins, and some other bills and I have the bills and receipts here"
and he stretched his hands to collect it. he checked for like 15-20mins, calls his fellow officer, talked to him off the mic. turned back, checked again carefully from page to page"

me: "I also have my invitation......"
him: "okay your visa has been approved.... "
I din't hear the rest again

bottom line. KEEP YOUR BILLS, RECEIPTS, AND ZERO BALANCES WELL.

Hi peeps,

I would like to have an idea of baggage allowance allowed for infant on emirate when you are coming back.I seem to be confused on their weight and piece concept for infants baggage allowance. Which one applies?

Weight Concept:
FAQ Baggage_content_briefcase Up to 10kg (22 lb) additional baggage, in addition to your usual baggage allowance.

Piece Concept:
One extra piece of baggage in addition to your usual baggage allowance, regardless of cabin class. This extra piece must be 23kg (50 lb) or less, with total dimensions (length + width + height) not exceeding 115 cm (45 inches)

Thanks

Its not the generic reply i had in my correspondence with us embassy. Its a separate email telling them i have written to them and asking them to offer me necessary assistance. I wouldnt have known its different if not that He read it out to his colleague.
