PoliticsReason Why Igala Won’t Vote For Yahaya Bello by TITOPE(op): 1:52pm On Jul 22, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/kogi-guber-cultural-group-gives-reasons.html

Ahead of the November 2019 Kogi State governorship election, an Igala socio-cultural organization, “Ukomu Igala”, Kaduna State chapter, have rejected the ambition of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to serve a second term in office.

In a statement on Monday in Kaduna after the inaugural meeting of the group,
Leader of the group, Mr. Samuel Salifu said the decision to reject Bello was a collective one.

The group also warned that Gov. Bello should not set their paramount ruler, Atta Idakwo Ameh Oboni, against his own subjects with a view to divide the people because of political interest.

Salifu said, “The Ukomu Igala therefore, rejects in its entirety, the present situation where the Governor of Kogi State would hoodwink our traditional rulers to go and endorsed him before the Nigerian president. We are equally grateful for the president’s response.

“How do you expect the Igala people to endorse a governor who styles himself as the white lion, who has refused to pay workers’ salaries for upwards of 28 months, who goes about boasting that the average Igala man’s wife can be purchased for as little as N6.000.00, or a governor who brutally and senselessly boasts that no Igala man can contest the governorship with him.

“A governor who cannot fix the streets of Lokoja – the state capital, who has no respect for the elders, and whose antics are known all over the country

“We won’t vote for someone whose ethnic roots complain daily about his highhandedness, whose only credential is the strange claim that he is the son of Mr. President!

“Therefore, “Ukomu lgala” does not endorse the aspiration oi the present governor for a second term even if he sends and monetizes 10,000.00 thugs.
The potential thugs should also be ready.

“The Attah and our other traditional rulers should rest assured that we are aware of what prompted them to go to Abuja and masquerade before Mr. President. Let the Agaba Idu be rest assured that he is our Attah – we cannot deny him.
Our kingmakers enthroned him and he has our support.

“The governor or any governor for that matter can only remove him if the Igala people endorse such an action. After all what happened in Kano should be a lesson as the governor of Kano could not remove the Emir of Kano because his people refused. Secondly, the presidency’s plot to remove the governor of Benue flopped simply because his people were with him.

“The Igala people did not appoint our Attah for governor Bello to rubbish the collective will of the Igala people. The governor should please, leave our Attah for us and stop his pranks.

“A word should be enough for the self-styled white lion! Komu Igala will endorse anyone who identifies with the aspirations and values of our collective will and not necessarily some one who could not perform as he could not identify any practical projects to show to the world.

“Ukomu Igala is looking for a man or woman who respects, understands the collective value of Kogites, whose antecedents are known to Kogites, whose star is in the hearts of the young and old alike, the male and the female, the educated and the uneducated, tested, tried and trusted. A man whose father is in Kogi and who does not borrow a father from somewhere else!

“Ukomu Igala is looking for a man of integrity, stamina, who will stand for his base and Kogites.

“If people are going to aspire from Kogi East, such persons must appreciate our values, bear the burden of the entire state, be chosen by the collective majority will of our people. Such persons must be ready to pay salaries, plan for the future of our youths, respect our elders, build on any sound foundations and lay new healthy foundations, develop our roads, resuscitate our schools, bring health close to the people, patronize our farmers, be a friend to all and an enemy to only evil men.

“Such persons will be known, recognised and approved by Ukomu Igala. Our leadership organisation recognises the appointment of an Atta (father) of Igala by the kingmakers who have the blessings of the Igala community. The Attah is the Attah of Igala.
He is the Attah, who speaks the voice of the Igala people. His primary constituency is the Igala people. Atta also has some other traditional leaders representing all strata of Igala community. This is important for the attention of both our political leaders and traditional rulers,” Salifu said.

PoliticsGani Adams Tells Buhari What To Do With Obasanjo’s Letter, Jonathan’s CONFAB by TITOPE(op): 1:27pm On Jul 22, 2019
The Aare Ona Kankafo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams has stated that the way out of the myriads of security challenges confronting Nigeria at the moment is for President Muhammadu Buhari to adhere to the advice contained in the open letter recently written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Gani Adams, who spoke at this year’s celebration of the annual Okota festival held at his home town of Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State, also emphasized that most of the solutions required by Buhari is already contained in the contained in the 2014 CONFAB which was put together by then President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Aare, who is regarded as the generalissimo of the Yoruba nation, described the level of insecurity in the country as worrisome, particularly with the recent killing of the daughter of the National Leader of the pan Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

“Let me say this for emphasis that in as much as I am not keen to bragging or blowing my trumpet, I have always had my reservations for whatever comes from ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, but I think his recent letter to President Muhammadu Buhari speaks volume of the danger ahead and it really expressed the minds of Nigerians and the world at large.

“I have always expressed my worries about insecurity and the senseless Killings across the nation and southwest in particular.

“The gruesome murder of the late Mrs Funke Olakunrin, along Shagamu/Ore road was a sad testimony of the terrible situation of the country at the moment.

“In all these, former president Obasanjo raised issues about mobilisation for national unity, stability, security, cooperation, development, growth and progress.

“He said government should open up discussion, debate and dialogue as part of consultation at different levels and the outcome of such deliberations should be collated to form inputs into a national conference.

“This, as far as I am concerned, is to help us come up with the solution that will effectively deal with the issues and lead to development growth, and progress.”

Adams maintained that the 2014 CONFAB report should be revisited, stating that, “I was a member and delegate of the 2014 national conference, and I have it on good authority that all these have been discussed in the 2014 national conference report, which to me addressed all the issues affecting Nigeria as a nation.

“Last Wednesday, former President Goodluck Jonathan also advised Buhari to adopt the reports of the 2014 national conference.

“I think this is the only solution that will give us a wholesome society and enhanced living standard and livelihood in an inclusive and shared society.

“We need unity of purpose and nationally accepted strategic roadmap that will not change with whims and caprices of any government.

“It must be owned by the citizens, people’s policy and strategy implemented by the government no matter its colour and leaning.

“But the president ‘s comments that those criticizing him on insecurity are unpatriotic is most unwelcome, particularly, from a leader whose citizens were being killed in their hundreds of thousands on daily basis,” he said.

BusinessBernard Arnault Replaces Bill Gates As World’s Second Richest Man by TITOPE(op): 12:36pm On Jul 19, 2019
Bill Gates has been unseated as the second richest man in the world, losing the position to Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of LVMH.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that in the latest ranking by Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, Arnault is in second place with Jeff Bezos still retaining the first place.

Arnault and his family are the majority owners of Christian Dior and LVMH, parent of such brands as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Fendi, Moët, Hennessy, Dom Pérignon, and others.

As LVMH’s share price has soared in 2019, so has Arnault’s worth. It now stands at about $107.6 billion, more than $200 million ahead of Gates, Bloomberg estimates.

The report also stated that Gates would had been ranked the richest person, even ahead of Bezos if not for his philanthropic giveaways which gave Arnault more room to climb.

The French entrepreneur entered the luxury industry in 1984, when he bought Boussac, a textile empire in the midst of bankruptcy that owned Dior.

The famed label by then had deteriorated by licensing its name out to companies producing sub-par products.

Arnault set about reviving it, turning it into a vertically integrated company that did its own production, distribution, and marketing.

He went on to buy up other brands, such as Céline, and in 1988 engineered the deal that made him the majority shareholder of LVMH.

Forbes currently ranks Dior as the world’s largest fashion brand based on sales, profits, assets, and market value.

Meanwhile, LVMH on the whole, keeps attracting customers around the world, with China being the latest highly profitable frontier.

PoliticsAkeredolu Yet To Fulfil Agreement Of Our Meeting With Tinubu by TITOPE(op): 11:30am On Jul 19, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/akeredolu-yet-to-fulfil-agreement-of.html

The leader of the Elders Forum of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State and former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi has disclosed that days after the reconciliation meeting by the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is yet to honour the agreement reached at the meeting.

According to Olanusi who is a member of APC Board of Trustees, BoT, part of the resolutions reached at the South-West leaders’ meeting which was held last week Tuesday was for the dissolution of the Ade Adetimehin led state working committee of the party.

Olanusi who spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Thursday during the group’s meeting also revealed that the last week Tuesday’s peace meeting by South-West leaders of the party was never for the second term ambition of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Tinubu had on Tuesday last week led other leaders of the party within the South West region to the State in a move to reconcile warring and aggrieved factions of the party.

The APC chieftain maintained that the meeting centred on the unity and progress of the party in the state and not the second term ambition of Akeredolu .

“We want to appreciate leaders of our party in the South West for calling last week’s meeting. What we discussed was that our party most move ahead in unity and progress.

“The leaders agreed with us that for the party to achieve the needed unity, the state executives of the party should be dissolved and caretaker committee be set up to run the party in the state pending the time a new congress.

“They never contested our position and they said they will look into it. We are waiting for the national headquarters of APC to do the needful because those leaders don’t have the power to dissolve party executives. We told them we have lost confidence in the Ade Adetimehin led state executives and they agreed with us.

“However, we want to place on record that Tinubu, Baba Akande and others did not call the meeting for second ambition of Akeredolu. In fact, nobody discussed any political ambition, knowing full well the party is still in crisis.

Meanwhile, a former Commissioner for Regional Integration in Osun State, Mr. Bola Ilori said window of peace had been opened with the meeting, adding that both parties must keep to the agreement.

“We must act as one political party, that is the only way our party can win. If we are divided we will all lose together. Our intention is to retain power in Ondo state and for us to do that we must have unity of purpose.

“If we are still fighting, Akeredolu cannot win, even any other person. We need ourselves. Nobody mentioned the second term of Akeredolu in the meeting. What we need now is one united party and both parties agreed to that. Nobody preached second term,” he said.

PoliticsWhy We’ve Not Declared War Against Herdsmen – Gani Adams by TITOPE(op): 11:22am On Jul 19, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/funke-fasoranti-why-weve-not-declared.html

The Aare Ona Kankafo of Yoruba land, Gani Adams, has disclosed reasons he is incapacitated to led his men in an offensive against suspected Fulani herdsmen ravaging the south west in various forms of attacks.

Gani Adams, who by the virtue of his position is considered as the generalissimo of the Yoruba nation, however, disclosed that strategies were already being mapped out towards tackling the menace.

The Aare Ona Kankafo stated this on Thursday’s night during his visit to the Akure residence of National Leader of the Pan Yoruba Socio-political organization, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti over the murder of his daughter, Mrs. Funke Olakunri by gunmen suspected to the herdsmen last week Friday.

58-year-old Mrs Olakunrin was on her way to Lagos from Akure, the Ondo State capital where she had gone to visit her 93-year-old father when her assailants struck and shot her dead in the Land Cruiser SUV she was travelling in on the Benin-Sagamu highway.

According to Gani Adams, who maintained that while killings by herdsmen would no longer be condoned within Yoruba land, the approach would be tactical as he stressed that the herdsmen operations are in three phases.

“We can no longer allow our people to be killed like chickens. We can’t keep quite while Yorubas are being killed like fouls.

“It’s very important that we have to react to this issue but we will not over react. We are being cautious so that we won’t be setup. And the law is there that we have to operate within the ambit of the law. That is one of the reasons we are being careful.

“My own Aare Ona Kakanfo is a modern one. It is not that of the olden days where the Alaafin and some Yoruba Obas with the Oyo Mesi will declare war and you can go to war.

“We have the structure of security on ground, the entire security apparatus.

“We have to be careful not to go into their trap. We have to be careful. It is good you see me in circulation to walk with you. We don’t want a situation we walk into their trap because we realize that this ugly incident is being coordinated beyond our own scene. There are some forces behind them.

“How can ordinary Fulani herdsmen be holding AK 47? In our findings, one AK 47 rifle goes for about N1 million and with many bullets. So, we are looking beyond ordinary Fulani herdsmen.

“We realized that there are some forces behind them in three phases. Those who strike in the bush, those who issued statement to back them up and those who are strategists, who give instructions to those who strike and to those who issue statements.

“Our problem in Yoruba land is that we don’t prepare, we always react. When we tell our people to prepare, they employ nonchalant attitude to it.”

Gani Adams added that the collaboration of the state governors within the south west is germane towards confronting the situation.

He also stated that he has received assurances from security agencies of stepping up efforts at ensuring effective surveillance on the notorious spots that have been identified.

“We are having different meetings on different organizations and we are planning to have a synergy with our state government in the south west.

“Don’t forget, that the governors are the chief security officers of their states and in a sensitive security situation like this we have to be very careful not to jump the gun.

“But I can tell you authoritatively that we are meeting as a group and as stakeholders to map out strategies to complement efforts of the law enforcement agencies.

“I’ve been notified that the IGP has arranged a special squad to work on that dangerous spot of the south west due to the letter I wrote to the IGP four weeks ago.

“I have seen this signal, I have the information. Last year I wrote our governors and a summit on security was held three weeks ago, just within three hours we couldn’t conclude that summit they left that venue.

“Now we don’t have option, we have to work with them. They are the chief security officers of their states and anything that happens within their state is an embarrassment to them. Don’t forget that they are the ones collecting all the security votes. As the Aare Ona Kankafo I use my personal fund. We are talking about someone that is ready to sacrifice anything for his own race and not reading political meaning to all that is happening.”

Christianity EtcCAN Gives PFN Two Weeks To Submit Report On Rape Allegation by TITOPE(op): 10:34am On Jul 19, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/busola-dakolo-vs-biodun-fatoyinbo-can.html

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has given the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, two weeks to submit report of its probe on the rape allegation against the Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

PFN had set up a panel to probe the rape allegation against Fatoyinbo by celebrity photographer, Busola Dakolo.

Busola, who is the wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo had few weeks ago disclosed details of how Fatoyinbo allegedly raped her when she was young.

Fatoyinbo, however, denied the allegation, saying he has never forced himself on any woman in his life.

However, President of CAN, Dr Samson Ayokunle, at a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, explained that the body had taken it stands in the alleged rape case against Fatoyinbo.

He stated that the allegation, no matter how bad it might be, remained an allegation until proven otherwise.

According to Ayokunle: ”We have told you without mincing words that we will never support immorality in whatever form, it is alien to the culture of the church, to the teachings of Christ.

”And there is no pulpit that I know in Nigeria that the members are taught immorality, but we will not condemn until we have reasons to condemn, let the panel come out with the result let’s know what the truth is.

”I told you in the press release we issued that we have given the right to Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), because we don’t deal with individual churches, we deal with blocs.

”We have directed PFN, an arm of a bloc, which is also large enough to investigate that matter. I am telling you under God that PFN has set up that panel and that panel had been given two weeks within which to submit its report,

”Not only that, the two individuals involved have been invited by the committee and we are assuring them that nothing will be covered.”

PoliticsReps Wants FG To Include Almajiris In School-feeding Programme by TITOPE(op): 4:01pm On Jul 18, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/reps-wants-fg-to-include-almajiris-in.html

The House of Representatives has called on Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo to conduct headcounts of Almajiri and enrol them into the Homegrown school feeding programme.

The call was part of the resolutions reached on a motion moved by Mansur Manu and 3 others on Thursday.

The motion entitled, “Need to Eradicate child destitution and Remove Beggars from Nigerian Streets through Provision Of Standardized Education System and Improved Livelihood” was debated by the House and passed.

Speaking on the motion, Manu said, “a large number of children captured in the destitution net most of whom roam the streets begging for alms or hawking at traffic spots come at a huge cost to the nation in terms of loss of critical human capital and erosion of family values.

“Aware that the various religious and cultural value systems frown at begging and abandoning children without proper care, yet parents release their children to pass through such horrific conditions out of poverty and sheer abdication of responsibility”

The House, therefore, called “on the Office of the Vice-President to, in collaboration with States’ relevant institutions, conduct a census of Almajiri schools and headcount of the destitute children with the view to enrolling them in the ongoing National Home-grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP).”

PoliticsOsun Guber: ‘I Felt Ridiculed Contesting Against Dancer’ – Oyetola Mocks Pdp’s by TITOPE(op): 11:07am On Jul 18, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/osun-guber-i-felt-ridiculed-contesting.html

The Ogun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has said he felt ridiculed contesting against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the last governorship election in the state, Ademola Adeleke.

Following the election, which was conducted last year, the Supreme Court had few weeks ago affirmed Oyetola as the winner of the contentious election.

However, Oyetola, while speaking when he received the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP-led by Professor Yemi Farounbi, said the PDP governorship candidate should have been screened out of the race.

The governor stated that the lack of control in Nigeria’s electoral system gave Adeleke the opportunity to contest against him.

He said: “The country’s electoral system is weak, especially regarding the screening of candidates, which gave room for somebody like Ademola Adeleke to contest for governorship seat of the state.

“Sometimes when I sit down and realise that I was actually contesting with Adeleke, who is best at dancing, I felt ridiculed, very ridiculed. It would have been a tragedy for our state if the whole thing had turned the other way round.

“Anybody that is seriously concerned about the development of the state would at least be interested in whoever is going to pilot the affairs of the state.

“One wonders why the country’s electoral laws would have allowed that guy to even contest in the first instance. We don’t have control. Even in the north where we believe they’re disadvantaged in terms of education, they put in the best always. See whoever goes for any political office in the North is always the best of their stuck.”

PoliticsThis Is Not The Time To Play Deaf – Soyinka Warns Buhari Over Obasanjo’s Letter by TITOPE(op): 8:34am On Jul 18, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/this-is-not-time-to-play-deaf-soyinka.html

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has told President Muhammadu Buhari, that he cannot ignore the four-page open letter addressed to him, by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday.

Obasanjo, in the open letter, bemoaned the alarming state of insecurity in the nation.

Soyinka, speaking with the Daily Sun, said Buhari cannot “play deaf” to voices like Obasanjo and former Governor of old Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa.

“Read the Obasanjo statement. It should be obvious to government, by now, that the nation is not sleeping easy.

“When voices as ideologically separated as Obasanjo and Balarabe Musa harp on the same theme, government should understand that this is not the time to play deaf,” he said.

Obasanjo, had in the letter, which centred largely on insecurity in the country, said as a result of the herders-farmers clashes, very onerous cloud is gathering.

Soyinka also agreed that Nigeria is hurting like never before in its history.

He added: “We cannot all be mere idle alarmists and all at the same time.

“The nation is hurting. It’s hurting like none of us can recall in our lifetime.

“It’s a time for unprecedented approaches. The call for a national conference is not new; it is, however, taking on an accelerated urgency that no one should ignore.”

Politics‘I Leave Edo Assembly Crisis To Benin Ancestors’ – Oba Ewuare by TITOPE(op): 8:16am On Jul 18, 2019
The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has said he has left the crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly in the hands of God and the ancestors for resolution.

The monarch stated this, yesterday, when the Senate ad hoc committee, investigating the assembly crisis, paid him a courtesy call in his palace.

Oba Ewuare II said the palace had intervened in the crisis in its own way.

“We live it in the hands of God and the ancestors for now. We pray God and our ancestors to help us,” he said.

“We have intervened; the House of Representative was here last week and you are here now to help us resolve the issue. I pray that God and the ancestors should give you the wisdom to resolve the crisis and bring peace and unity,” he added.

On his part, Governor Godwin Obaseki, while meeting with the committee, said he had fulfilled his constitutional requirement by issuing a proclamation letter for the inauguration of the assembly.

“The constitution is clear on issues at the assembly. I have issued a proclamation letter and I have fulfilled my constitutional responsibility. I believe in the separation of powers.

“There were issues and we expected that those in higher authority should have stepped in to ensure that they are resolved but now the matter is in court,” he said.

“It is a very sad situation as we never anticipated this will happen. We are happy your committee is here on a fact-finding mission. If this has been done by the leadership of my party, we will not have gotten where we are today,” he added.

Earlier, the deputy chairman of the committee, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, said they were on a fact-finding mission to get first-hand information on the crisis in the state assembly.

PoliticsCourt Fixes Date To Hear El-zakzaky’s Application To Travel Abroad by TITOPE(op): 3:22pm On Jul 17, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/court-fixes-date-to-hear-el-zakzakys.html

A Kaduna State High Court will on Thursday hear the application of the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zazaky and wife, Zeenat, seeking to travel to India for medical attention.

The IMN leader is standing trial over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace among other charges.

The State Director of Public Prosecution, Mr Dari Bayero, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kaduna that the case would resume on Thursday.

Bayero said the IMN leader, who is standing trial before the state High Court, brought the application seeking the court’s permission to travel outside the country.

According to the official, the IMN leader and his wife had applied to be granted permission to travel to Metanta Hospital, New Delhi, India and return to Nigeria for continuation of the trial as soon as they are discharged.

Bayero said that Justice D.H Khobo would preside over the hearing on the application on July 18.

NAN recalls that Justice Gideon Kurada, who was handling the case, on April 25 adjourned the trial of the IMN leader indefinitely.

The indefinite adjournment was to enable the judge serve on the panel of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal in Yobe.

Femi Falana (SAN), the lead counsel to the defendants had told newsmen after the adjournment that his clients, El-Zakzaky and wife Zeenat, were in dire need of medical attention, the reason why they could not appear in court at the time.

Falana had said that his clients had not been given adequate medical care since their detention on Dec. 14, 2015.

Before the indefinite adjournment, the court had on Tuesday, Jan. 22, ordered the Kaduna State Government to avail the IMN leader and his wife Zeenat, access to medical care.

Christianity EtcLetter To Buhari: Obasanjo Spoke Mind Of Nigerians – Apostle Suleman by TITOPE(op): 8:23am On Jul 17, 2019
http://www.titopeblog.com/2019/07/letter-to-buhari-obasanjo-spoke-mind-of.html

The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has said former president Olusegun Obasanjo spoke the mind of Nigerians in his open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari on the current security situation in the country.

Apostle Suleman, who cautioned that Nigeria was sitting on a keg of gunpowder, said urgent steps must be taken to avert looming crisis in the country.

The cleric spoke yesterday when he visited Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

According to him, all was not well with the country and there was urgent need to have the challenges tackled headlong.

He said, “In Obasanjo’s letter, I did not see what he wrote there that has not been happening. People must draw a line between politics and reality. He spoke the mind of Nigerians and should not be castigated.

“I learnt some people are calling for his arrest, but before anybody arrests Obasanjo they should first arrest those who threatened the government by issuing a with 30 days ultimatum to the government over the suspension of the Ruga settlement plan.”

Apostle Suleman commanded Governor Ortom for choosing to defend his people at the peak of the herdsmen crisis in the state instead of his position or office as was common in the country stressing that such attribute was very rare among majority of leaders.

“Many leaders would prefer to defend their seats and positions at the expense of their people in such situations, the path Governor Ortom took was capable of costing him his second term election but he never bothered.”

Responding, Governor Ortom commended Apostle Suleman for supporting the state through prayers and his N5million cash donation for the upkeep of Internally Displaced Persons in the state, describing him as a true friend of the state.

Ortom said herders invasion of the state was for the purposes of occupation and not grazing.

“Benue would not accept open grazing, grazing reserves, Ruga or whatever because they are all in conflict with our Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law,” he warned.
