Foreign Affairs › Re: US To Withdraw From Niger As Security Pact Fails In Strategic Victory For Russia by tk003(m): 10:42am On Apr 21, 2024 |
wirinet: Yes countries engage in alliances that serve their strategic objectives, but does it have to be a parasitic relationship? Sucking the life blood out of these poor African countries while giving little or nothing in return. That has been the nature of the relationship between African countries and Europe/US from the very beginning.
Why didn't the US employ the same doctrine of "strategic objectives" when dealing with European countries and Israel? The US spent billions in rebuilding Europe after the devastating war started by European themselves. They created military alliance and spent trillions defending Europe from themselves. They do the same with Israel, spending billions of dollars protecting Israel and helping their economy. But when it comes to Africans countries they remember the doctrine of strategic objectives. One Zobo for you Sir. |

kenny714433: Nigeria is a very large slum. Let's tell ourselves the truth.
In your spare time, go to Google, type compare Nigeria with (input any country). You would discover we are only in par with countries like Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Cameron, and other war torn countries. But we're not at war!
The only thing we beat most countries is child birth and stupid unproductive landmass which has even be occupied by bandits.
The scariest part of it is that before we get it right and things start to fall in place, we'll be in our 70s/80s because its quite hard to build.
Okay, states like Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta (let me not even call Lagos) is bigger than numerous countries like Maldives etc in both Landmass, GDP etc. Those state should have their capitals more beautiful than those counties' capital. But what do we have? A group of people pocketing everything in their account while their demonic minions cheers them up and defend them.
An average Nigerian has become a beggar. Listen to them speak, you will hear extreme hopelessness. It pains me... It pains me too. |

Which of the Ministries, Parastals or Agencies do you think is the most "Useless" in Nigeria now in terms of their overly poor performances and low impacts to the Nigerian society?
For me, I think NAFDAC and SON are now among the "Useless", given the high rate of counterfeits and poor quality products, foods and medicines around the country.
Let hear yours... |

Politics › Nigerian Politians And The Nigeria People by tk003(op): 8:53pm On Apr 21, 2023 |
Most times I walked across streets in Nigeria, I can help but feel sad for the sorry states of the most basic amenities or lack of it.
Very dirty roads which are very poorly constructed to begin with by 'wheelbarrow and shovel construction companies' that are usually either owned by the same politians, their friends or family. You will find thousands of populace without a single borehole like I recently watched in Minna, Niger state. You begin to wonder what the leaders responsible for providing water for their people are doing with their time year in, year out.
You will go in some town at night and you will think there is no soul in it because of the extreme darkness you met cause by the lack of adequate electricity, just as I find in Lokoja, Kogi State now, a particular section of the town enjoys more than 20 hours of electricity daily while the other section are left with very little or no light, speak of "some animals been more equal than others".
What wrong with people who call themselves our Leaders? What wrong with us? In the last election we all saw "youths" clamoring for and supporting a candidate who as little or no show of quality leadership. Ascribing to him our political messiahship. Then and there I knew we are far from been ready, far from telling ourself truth. Because if we are ready, there were more credible and even more youthful candidate that has shown consistency, perseverance and more importantly desire for effective change not the change we were promised the other time, that is deserving of our massive support. Unfortunately, the same "youths" ignore this candidate.
It shouldn't be this bad! It shouldn't be this wicked O' our Honourables without honour. We can do better, we should do better. Alas! As Tuface put it: "repentance no dey their plan o, ..."
All I have been seeing and hearing are mostly just brilliant talks and talks on TV shows, papers, blogs etc but no work or too little work or work, lacking popular support of the "youths".
Now people! What's the way forward? How do will starts having dividents of good governance, starting from our streets, schools, hospital, police stations? etc.
God bless Nigeria or perhaps God help Nigeria because I believed it's already blessed.
Barka da Sallah! |

It been what again? Five month? Six month, no pay.
Some People have already been calling us names like, "Buhari pikin", "Sadiya pikin" and others. That we have been working for free. And for some us, there just nothing else at the moment.
The school I have been teaching didn't not even have enough teacher for the subject. You could imagine the joy of the only one teacher of the subject and even the students when I was posted there but, men! I am not sure I can continue any longer without pay. If the programme has been scrap, let us know.
