NBA HOSTS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES TO DIALOGUE JAN 30
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) will on January 30 host all presidential candidates at its State of the Nation Dialogue.
According to a statement signed by the NBA President, Yakubu Maikyau (SAN), on Thursday, the candidates’ discussions will centre on security, the economy, and the administration of justice.
Maikyau stated that the dialogue was necessary because the legal profession could not afford to fail to discharge its primary responsibility of providing leadership and guidance on matters that affect the socio-economic and political development of the country.
“In doing this, we must continue to demonstrate a high regard for professional and ethical standards to earn the respect of the government and the people.
“We are set to go to the polls in about five weeks, to elect our representatives who will run the affairs of government, executive and legislative, for the next four years. For this purpose, we have the responsibility to provide guidance and leadership to the Nigerian people, from the point of view of our privileged position as members of the legal profession,” he said.
The NBA President recalled his inaugural address on August 26, 2022, where he noted that the legal profession has what it takes to precipitate the leadership that will bring the succour and freedom Nigerians deserve, and added that the body cannot afford to shirk from that responsibility.
In that address, he was quoted to have said, “The need to continuously engage government at all levels is necessary to, amongst other things; generate discussions that will provide Nigerians with sufficient information to guide them in making their choice of persons to occupy elective offices in the upcoming general elections. Nigerians must be satisfied, given the concrete realities of our nation, with the practical solutions that are being proposed by those seeking elective offices as they relate to the current security, economic, and political challenges.”
For those that were making fun of the SHOW,, and saying that Featuring on AY-SHOW cannot be classified as “ENGAGEMENT WITH CITIZENS”,,
Let such people come out and tell us here in this thread, whether their preferred candidate can withstand this type of hot-anger from an “ordinary citizen.”
Mr. Peter Obi featured on AY-Show on Thursday (19th January, 2023). (That was after his political campaign rally on the same day, in Minna, Niger State). .. While the AY-Show progressed, a lot of people were allowed to directly ask Peter Obi a lot of questions -- which bothered on a lot of issues.
But one particular woman caught the whole attention... One Aged Area-Mama by name “Mummy-H.O”.
She vexed so much while she was asking her questions in a very high shouting tone (out of immense accumulated anger), to an extent that AY himself was no more comfortable to continue having her ask further questions.
Peter Obi, on his part, was calm all through the period she was asking her questions though.. And after she finished asking her questions, Peter tried his best to answer all her questions.
But frankly speaking, the anger that was residual inside the Maamma was something else. It even made me to feel a “hot-boiling-water” sensation inside my tommy while she was asking her questions.
That (definitely) was the highlight of the show for me.
He was at the BACK-SEAT for that matter ooo.. Haaahahahahahaaahahahaaa..
Meanwhile.. This is one of the reasons I will vote Peter Obi.
He had said it before. That the Laws were made for everybody, including the president.
He once said that: “Immunity only covers him ONLY from being prosecuted for CRIMINAL Offences while he is still serving,, and not ALL THE LAWS. So, that he has Immunity doesn't mean that he should be flouting laws anyhow, and therefore, he also should be abiding by the laws, and if he is found wanting in any of the laws of the country, let the laws take its full course on him”.
Simon Ekpa is just an Unhappy Person. He is not doing well wherever he is, and he is milking the depression of the people in Nigeria.
How would someone in a sweet place like Finland be so much interested in Funds and Donations of Lovers of Biafra (both at home and abroad), and you think that everything is very normal with him??
If your platform wants to use Mr. Peter Obi to make money,, he doesn't even care. So far say the people got to see him and hear him through your platform..
Talks about being stingy..
Difference between giving you a good opportunity to make more money,, and sharing raw cash in the name of “Not Being Stingy..
Anyway.. Peter Obi will end all these nonsense by the time he finished restructuring the police, so that people can then begin to call the police on phone EMERGENCY NUMBERS to report events to the police anonymously, and the police would arrive promptly at the spot for full investigations.
Bluntsisi: 1. Road Infrastructure.. Peter-Obi did far many more roads (than Tinubu), which was the most-needed infrastructure at that time, (and still is at the moment). You can list all Tinubu’s Infrastructural Projects if you like, let's compare.
2. Health.. (the details are there in the open) 3. Education.. (the details are also out there in the open) ...... 4. Citizens Participation in Government. Citizens had several nopportunities to directly interact with Peter-Obi and tell him what to do and what not to do (through audience-participatory radio/tv direct audience-interview programs). (Tinubu never gave such cherished opportunities to Lagosians.. He only listens to his cronies and allies)
5. Debts.. (Should I talk about this one too??) Anambra was the least indebted state. 6. Savings.. (Should I also talk about this one?) His frugality was second to none.
7. Blockage of Financial Leakages. He blocked off leakages both in the various offices of civil servants, and those of public servants, and even Government appointees.. There were no excesses, neither were there people spending above their means, or trying to intimidate people with untold wealth. Can you say that about Tinubu? He practically institutionalized poverty in Lagos State. Both Civil Servants and Public Servants are either lazy, or are begging, or are toutish, or are looking for endless gratifications, some are even fraudulent, some others even bring in combinations of these vices. (They call it being street-wise..)
8. Wealth-Creaton and wealth distribution and redistribution.. During the time of Peter-Obi, the GDP-PER-CAPITA of Anambra State Was higher than what The GDP-PER-CAPITA of Lagos was under Tinubu.. Ok. Even the Growth in the GDP-PER-CAPITA of both states when compared, The Anambra Growth was remarkable.. Tinubu taxed Lagosians to an almost bleeding-point. Taxes and State IGR are not the true measures of the wealth and well-being of the people in any state.. IT IS THE GDP-PER-CAPITA OF THE STATE.. (If the statistics are well gathered, then, the MODAL GDP-PER-CAPITA is the best average, and not the MEAN GDP-PER-CAPITA) NOW YOUR TURN.....
Name 5 THINGS which TINUBU did better than PETER-OBI as governor?
You say what.??
How can you be insinuating that GDP is more important than IGR.??

This is why policemen need to have their recording body-gadgets on. If a policeman kills someone, and his body-gadget is off, then whatever he says cannot be taken as truth, because it cannot be verified.
