It all started on Sunday 8th November 2015.. I needed to withdraw money with my ATM around 5pm in the evening, but the ATM refused paying me. So I decided to go to my bank first thing on Monday Morning. Monday morning, 9th of November, I arrived at my bank as early as 7:45am so that I could be among the first customers to be treated for the day. Some people were there already. They had same problem too. At 8:00am, they opened the door.. We all rushed in. Straight to the Customer Service desk, we were being attended to.. All of us really had the same problem. This is the conversation that took place between the very first customer and the Customer Service Staff who was sitting behind the Customer Service desk: Staff: Can I have your account number.? Customer: See it here. (dropped a paper where he wrote his account number on the desk) Staff: (checked on computer and replied) Your account does not have BVN linked to it. Customer: But I have my BVN. I did it here, right here on your desk. I have even linked my BVN with all my accounts in other banks, and they are paying. Why is it that my main bank didn't link.? Staff: You didn't come back after you have gotten your BVN so that you can link it. Customer: But I submitted all my account numbers when I was enrolling for the BVN. Why didn't you link automatically.? Staff: Well, I guess you have your BVN now. Just write down your account numbers and your BVN. (Raised her head and faced the rest of the customers) Please while coming to this desk, write down your account number and your BVN number on the paper given to you. If you don't have your BVN and you want to enroll, please come back on Friday by 3pm.. ..... As we were busy trying to write down our account numbers and BVN, the lights in the banking hall went out. That was around 8:47am. We managed to write down the needed details using the little lights from our phones. Things got worse when, after five minutes, the power was not back yet. The whole banking hall was becoming stuffy and rowdy. People were murmuring and cursing in their native languages. A staff of the bank came to address us, but it seemed like his addressing the customers made the matter worse. The whole place became so noisy and heated up. Before we knew it, everybody was already sweating under the condition. Some guys were busy recording the whole confusion on their phones. After about One hour of the blackout, with all the sweat and the noise that had already gotten me so uncomfortable, and with no hope of the lights coming back on; I decided to take my leave. It was then that I discovered that the front automatic door was no more working, so I was directed to the back door. That was where I saw something that got me more angered. Almost all the bank staff were there at the backyard of the bank and gisting and laughing away their time like nothing happened. When I asked them why they left us in darkness just like that, the reply I got was: "We can't say exactly what went wrong with the generator oo"
I felt like breaking my boss head after he made some derogatory comments that got me angry and belittled..... Yesterday a colleague and I went to take measurements of a bank for renovation works in one of the tertiary institutions in ogun state. My colleague being the senior was given the full details and equipment needed. When we got to ogun state, he gave me the equipment (tape and camera) and asked me if I could do it that he has a babe in the school. I said yes and he gave me extra 3k. I guess that was to shut me up. After taking the measurement of the floor area in the banking hall and other adjoining spaces, I took pictures of the tiles and ceilings just to show my boss that they were in a very poor state. When I got back home I used my computer to scale the measurements and then redesigned the banking hall. The main aim of the renovation was to increase the number of cubicles in the banking hall from 3 to 7. Today when I got to the office, I gave my boss the report and showed him the proposed design I made, he said "Great". During critic session I was surprised that the initial drawing was brought out and he was redoing the design. Well I no talk, I watched until he was done instructing the architect. Then I compared his proposed design with mine and I quickly pointed out to him that he has used up much space for circulation moreover our cubicle spatial analysis is till the same. He called me Peter!!! ....what year were you born, I told him, he said that was the year I started this company. If you have things in your head keep it. When you establish your firm, use it. Na so everybody dey look me like say I poo for body. See me wey for just keep quite....If it were to be somewhere else, Na orijin bottle I for arrange untop him head...............that is why I keep praying for a multinational firm....abeg make I quickly go check my shell application status....
And the lady would open her legs and expect the guy to "put it small".. So, if he begged to put small and he was allowed to "put small", next time, he will beg again.

DONSMITH123: The Lagos State Police Command on Monday urged residents of the state not to report traffic robbery and other crimes first on social media but to the nearest police station.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Joseph Offor, who made the appeal on Monday, said the reports would help the police in strategising on how to combat crimes and forestall occurrence.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, had lamented that Nigerians were fund of reporting crimes first on the social media.
He noted that reporting first to the nearest police station would help the police to prevent further occurrence.
He also spoke about how some distress calls were actually blown out of proportion and advised the residents to always verify their information before causing panic.
The PPRO added that making false reports of crime incidents on social media was a cheap blackmail against the leadership of the Nigeria Police.
“People should endeavour to report every road traffic robbery to the police station so that we will know who to hold responsible.
“This will help us to strategise and come against those people behind the crimes.
“We are not denying the fact that we have a couple of traffic robberies here and there but we have arrested some of the suspects.
“We have also prevented some of them that were about to be committed.
“When somebody is a victim of a crime, he knows where to go,’’ Offor told NAN.
“If you go to a police station to report, it will help us to have the statistics of crime being committed in that area; it will also help us in our planning.
“It will help us in our research but when people decide to report their cases to the social media, we see it as a cheap blackmail against the leadership of the Nigeria Police.
“And this is worrisome because it is not helping our statistics.’’
According to Offor, people making crime reports on the social media are not helping the system as planning and strategising cannot be based solely on statistics got from such reports.
If you report matter to police, you become a suspect. Nigerians started the "crime alert" on social media, just to help other innocent citizens to avoid such troubled areas.. Telling the police won't help the innocent citizens that might want to ply that road who as a result may consider an alternative route. It is left for the Nigerian Police to find a way to make this new "crime alert" thing to work them.
SMARTgurUxxxxxxx: Thank god that people still have talent in Nigeria, please wish this guy good luck to go further in his destiny.......... . . . . #No be small thing o
NPComplete: Be advised that not everyone using nairaland are "nairalanders"; some people only care about a specific thread like this one. Most regular users know. They just don't care about such things. I mean what good has being FTC or flipping over pages brought anyone except for the ephemeral euphoria of doing something that is in all essence meaningless?
It makes them popular.. At least, they now have the anonymous popularity.. Everybody (including guests on Nairaland) know their names. I mean, Introvet and Lady-F.. At first, I thought they were robots.
arabianights: Was in the bulk room of a first generation bank and crowd was quite bad ( yet they say no money ).There were some igbo men that had come to deposit quite an amount of money and had been conversing loudly in their dialect not caring that they were been a nuisance. All of a sudden a white man comes in and the teller receives his cash whilst ignoring the hisses and insults of customers.
The igbo men, trust them started insulting the man and went ahead to add more in their dialect, the white man then, calmly turns to them and responded to them in IGBO language then went on to add a few more sentences... the whole bulk room kept shut out of shock of course. I turned to him in amazement to ask him on how he learnt igbo and he smiled and responded to me fluently in HAUSA. Apparently, he had been there before every one else but the account number was wrong and he was told he couldnt make calls in the banking hall, he then went out to make a call and wait for the right account number. On his return,hE went straight to the teller as she had assured him that when he returned ,he wouldnt have to join the queue again. The teller should have explained to all instead of ignoring customers.
Any way my point is that these white men are smatter than us, they learn our languages so as to enable themselves settle in and do business whilst most of us go to their countries and come back the same people we were when we left if not worse.
You are not just only a tribal he-goat, but also a pitiable brainwashed racist on top. So, Igbo men speaking Igbo is nuisance, but a white man speakin Igbo is amazement and over-smartness.? You think that these Igbo men that import motorcycle and motor parts from Japan, China, and some other Asian countries do their businesses with only English and Igbo.?? Stop all these tribal hatred.. It will take you no where.
ladyF: lol. The only time I've PM'ed here is when I mailed mods. I can't really remember clearly but it's like you're automatically Cc'ed cuz I think it happened to me too. Not so sure tho.

NanaF: Are you controlling your emotions and managing interpersonal relationships at your work? I see you didn't bolden that part. Lol. You can't take some and leave some.
I take back my advice. Continue not talking to your boss. Keep getting agitated/being on the edge. Break someone's head. Let your colleagues at work continue to notice your sadness, like you mentioned. Even multinationals are laying off and cutting pay, I guess you'd rather be unemployed. Good luck.
Dear... There are lots of things happening in this life.. Try to see things from other peoples' eyes at-times.. The bolded part of your statement is really not necessary.. You said that Multinationals are laying off and cutting pay.?? Ok.. So, wetin concern that one too with this present matter.?? This quick to conclude attitude of yours makes you say things that are really awkward. Beleive me, I just don't even know how to reply you, because you didn't even conclude rightly on my situation. Things you are saying here are sounding like you intended quoting someone else. Well, all I have to tell you right now is: "PRAISE THE LORD..!! ALLELLUYAHH"..
ladyF: lol u better set ur mind to next yr...u didn't hear it from me sha

Aaahahahahahaha.. No wahalla.. Only if there is a way to know those whose names are there and those whose names are not... Things for don better for my soul
