@Ritchie
Not trying to support Nateevs cos I saw some of his comments while the game was on - appalling

But the comment above from you "The team that wins the league is called the champion and NOT the best team" means what?

What's your problem? Are you trying to be funny?

You're not making sense,

The best team in the Europe is Barca not because of anything but because they won a tournament designed to pick the best team - Not a Champion. And if winning the league makes you a champion and not the best team, how do you conclude that a team is better if competitions won shouldn't be a barometer

Back to your argument with Nateevs

Its safe to say based on stat that Odemweinge was better than Torres last season but we all can conclude Torres suffered a dip in form and hence his below par performance. Nobody celebrates history but your current form and there is nothing that says Torres would come out of his 'issues'

So, using past glory to invalidate present stat wouldn't necessarily score u points in ur debate. A man/player is as good as his present delivery. If all a player/team has to show as his worth is his past glory, then nothing more to say

The team with the best backline would be judged on 2 variables. Number of clean sheets and Games lost. A team with fewer goals conceded that lost many games might not necessarily be the best backline in the league /Vice versa

2 cents

Personal advice- if you are going to leave Nigeria to go abroad for a grad degree, make sure its a school that worth its name, not all these 'gbarogudu' schools in the UK (and there are a lot of them). And all the better if you can get a scholarship, so you are not spending your own money!
Yes Boss!

enrol in a rubbish school, get admission, borrow to pay, if you come back here, OYO LO WA

nothing for you

@Topic
same ol same

Left IB for personal runs and its been helluva work. cash wise, its been better tho but now i know to be a man, its not even a years job.

aside my personal engagements, ill be working with some PE guys from the US on a project in the North. 18months of Lagos-Abuja-Jo'bourg in the offing This would start in September but the prob now is how to combine my personal runs with this. The experience, emoluments and the calibre of people on the project would not make me say NO

ive got about 30 days to clear my head and be sure of what i want

aside career, the race to get married is gathering momentum. watch this space oh grin grin

I don't think I can still spell that Arsenal Goalies name.

Sneidjer. Is that the spelling? Lol

Still do not want a Sneidjer-like player. I'm not sure our problems last season was in our creative play. We dealt with teams easily at home but struggled away.

We need composure, steel, discipline and the ability to hold the ball in the hole (CM). A player that can effectively link the backline with the offensive players is what we need. What creativity are we looking for when we have the likes of Nani, Rooney who falls deep to pick balls, Berbatov and Young?

To me a Roy Keane is what we need in this present team. Someone who can boss the middle and lift the team when we are under pressure. Wesley would probably just stick behind Rooney in a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 which I think won't address our present shortcomings

I'm sure the Gaffer is on top of it. If we are ever gonna sign someone - cool but if we are not signing anybody again, then the under-utilised players in the squad can/should step up their games
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 12:56pm On Jul 14, 2011
Thank God the man in charge has said No to those disgusting reports. 35milla for what?

If we have 35milla, we should get Arturo Vidal and Tiote!

That's 2 extra men in the midfield

I'm happy we got Young tho. We only need creative guy in the midfield to have many attacking options.

We are good shape. I hope Valencia won't be out for a long time
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 9:56am On Jul 13, 2011
35m and the kind of salary Wesley is on makes that story a bit confusing, Will he come to United to earn more or be contented with what he earns now? If he's contented with what he earns now, then why would he wanna move his family away from Milan to Manchester? Not even London

I don't know why anyone isn't looking at De Rossi and really, do we need players like Sneidjer? We need someone who can hold ball in the middle, Rooney/Berba/Young and Hernandez are just perfect for our Attacking options

Modric, Bastian, De Rossi - any of these should be the ideal player in our middle.

That Alcantara boi too can play footie. Dunno why the hediot signed to keep his ass glued to bench for life.

If we can't get the marquee ones, go to Argentina, Mexico or Ukraine and get me a good bargain. A 8milla who will do a Modric if given the chance

Hernandez is a testament that we don't necessarily need the big names to get our mojo on.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 11:49pm On Jul 09, 2011
With the way I cursed him (Oshea) last season, I knew something was gonna happen to him

He's gone! Fine. He was not good, not bad but just there. We won't miss him like that

Nasri? I don't think that old man wanna sell to us. As it is, ill take any experienced signing for that CM cos ill be alarmed if our midfield will be handled by the duo of Giggs and Carrick.

I don't know what happened but I think the loss of Varane to Madrid is a big loss. Not comfy with a young goalie and about 5/6 young defenders. Even though Varane himself is young, his acquisition would have added a bit of succour to the backline

We desperately need 2 CMs. If Carrick is gonna bounce back to his brilliant form, we are cool but if he's still gonna be tacky all season, then we'll be good with a tiote kinda signing to complement the Nasris/Modrics/Wesleys pending signing

All in all, United will be stronger overall but I doubt the turgidity known with our backline will be there; I expect us to turn out more goals with the acquisition of Young and maybe a Nasri

We should be able to win the league irrespective of whatever 'magic' Mr. AV-B is planning

I see a 2horse race. Mr Daglish is proving to be a lunatic with his signings, Arsenal are about to 'offload' 2 of their best players, Man City are still clueless.

We shd be fine at home but in Europe, wahala fit shele

Bojan better than most overpriced Englisg forwards. Let's be specific oh

Bojan better than who?

Ritchie see what you have caused?

I hope Bojan is not been compared to Rooney. . . . Bojan rot on the bench in UTD

Who is filling the void left by Scholes?

Who is taking over from Giggs?

Who is the creative midfielder we are gonna buy?

Abeg abeg, no dulling this coming season
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 9:45pm On Jun 16, 2011
LOL @ Boko Haram

Bebe won't come back to United. The loan move will be made permanent just the way Manucho never came back

Sanchez? Dude wants to play for Barca so I doubt we can get him. The way Udinese are doing, only the highest bidder would get him so ill agree with the guy that said Man City might get him before United. Except, we are ready to splash some unnecessary cash

Nyways, we need an exciting player in our midfield
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by tkb417(m): 6:09am On Jun 12, 2011
Why are we slating Young when dude hasn't kicked the ball yet. I have a strong feeling Young is there to add to our options on the wings and behind the strikers if we have injury probs. I don't see how Youngs acquisition is bad buy

From all indications, UTD would buy a Central midfielder cos Hargo, Scholes, Gibson are prolly gonna be with us next season and Giggs is spent

So, guys now, August is still 2months from now. I'm sure we'll get at least a marquee signing in central midfield cos it only makes sense to beef up that area of the midfield since we are selling

Bebe? Lmao

Scam!!!
