We played shyte early on, yes but got stronger to the extent we went on a run of 22 games without a loss. . . . we practically shut teams out in a way it couldn't matter less if our goalie was taking a nap while the game was on. God knows we didn't achieve that with a defence-line (more to the point a midfield) that makes us look upwards to the heavens in supplication everytime the opposition get within 20yards of our goal. Even more annoying it doesn't even matter who that opposition is; whether Crewe Alexandra, Tirana Torpedoes or Ibhola Lethu! we played shyte earlier on? Good are we playing shyte now? save your answer! can we get stronger after these first set of games? you can answer this |

RuuDie: after what i've seen in the last 4 games. . . . .i am beginning to see things differently ^ maybe this was just a fo'luke after all; so was Arsenal and Bolton! fluke is winning 6 out of 7 games? yeah. . . when we win the league this same way, the FA will engrave the word fluke on the trophy |

Just be honest and answer this one question. . . . . .does it look like we have a defence or can keep as many clean sheets at the moment!? no it doesnt look like we have such defence cos Vida has been injured and rio has not been fit all through. if they play as a unit together; we'll be fine and i dont think our team presently is inferior to any team in England. . . This team can win the EPL if we stay outta injuries can we win UCL? i doubt it cos Madrid and Barca are there to contend with we can win next season tho if we buy 2 midfielders |

RuuDie: ok. . . .so they complained; but at the same time they watched most of the games with relative peace of mind, most of the time, almost 90% certain that the best result the opposition would get off UTD was a draw. In fact, it was more of a question of if the opposition could manage to score a goal, thinkless of win!
Lately, its just not been encouraging. . . . .why in the world do you think Basel, Norwich had the audacity to play the way they did at OT; we gave them the impetus. Dem born dem well make dem try am with City talkless of Bayern, Real Madrid or Barca!? lets pull out the post-match threads of last season games and lets juxtapose same thing we always complain on this thread its ever been excellent from UTD fans! anyway, thats why we win every season cos we are never satisfied in United |

RuuDie: I don't get it, who complained. . . . ? Certainly not the majority of UTD fans. This is the way me I see it, it took 23 league games before we dropped maximum points playing, as you put it dull, unimaginative, uninspiring footie - the way we play now, I tell you losses are lurking close by! errrm how many points did we get in 7 games last season? how many goals did we score? how many did we concede? are the stats better than what we have now? and errrrrrm, did we play Chelsea and Arsenal in the first 7 games? lets compare abeg losses are lurking by? definitely losses are lurking by for Real Madrid and Barcelona too cos you cant go 38 matches 'undefeated' |

fergie should just go about it the old-school way! 4-3-3. anderson, carrick and fletcher to support, young, rooney and nani. the back four of jones, smalling, evra and one of rio/vidic should do. + 1 Evans must NOT play against Liverpool or we are doomed |

montelik: Chei with all d arguments here one would think we are Arsenal . Pple should just chill. After d flying start we had, its only natural we would drop off once d games started coming thick and fast, with injuries to also contend with. I can't lie Ando has looked a little off recently. But d season is long, nobody goes thru d season permanently on form. Even past players like Ruud, CR7, Keane, Cantona e.t.c didn't go thru d season permanently on form. All you can ask is that they produce decent results even when they aren't close to 80%. We played some breathtaking stuff in d opening month, so a little dip is allowed. true guys shd relax |

Cristalz: Tkb, based on Evra's recent performances, can you be sure that Evra will remain in position when he plays RM, Barca or Bayern? Even if he goes forward, can you say with certainty that he will immediately return to his position at the back once his work is done up front? How many times has he done that recently?
Evra is no longer as effective as he used to be as a left back and that's the honest truth. He forgets that his primary assignment is the LB position too often for comfort. i think Evra needs his head checked he almost gave the Norwich guys a goal i hope SAF is looking at replacing him or buy another player to make him sit up he needs the Heinze treatment |

montelik: We are basically playing d only fit & available players at d back. We all know that Rio, Vida and possibly Rafael & Smalling would all be playing ahead of d current players, if they were fit. Did anyone expect that with d likes of Evans, Jones, Fabio, Valencia in defense we wouldn't be vulnerable. This is not playstation or FM.
D part of d squad where we have plenty injuries is at back, and it only makes sense that is where there will problems. Top of league, with more players to return after d international break. Why all d doom & gloom. nice one brother i think Man U fans need to relax. . . haba what should Arsenal fans do if the other top teams suffer injuries like us, i doubt they'll be as convincing pre-injuries we should relax and pray our players get back RuuDie:

I sorry, sorry. . . . . .at the end of the day, we're still going to revert to Rooney+Berbatov! you think Berba will still play for us? i doubt it oh RuuDie: As far as me am concerned ~ every single game we've seen post-Cleverly na wash-wash! true |

you really think if united square-dance with bayern, madrid or barcelona, evra and co would be bombing forward like tools? you make me laugh! the only reason basel scored 3 goals was because united kept leaving massive holes in the middle with about 8 of our players always attacking This is the quote once again Cc Ruudie and Starboard @Starboard wasnt it evident UTD under rated Basel with their play? defenders running up the pitch like headless chickens. are you saying, we'll play Bayern/ Real and Evra /Jones will be running down opposition's 18 yard box? |

we have defeated Chelsea, Spurs, City (shied) this season so i doubt we wont be able to compete with the best
i think this team is still better than last seasons so we might put in a better performance against barca (if we ever meet them again)
I agree tho we'll do better with some reinforcements
i dont think we are in any crisis apart from the growing list of injured players |

@DK abeg holla me on YIM when u can @Topic we didnt play well; shikena can we do better? yeah can we compete with the best in europe? yeah!!! do we need extra players? yeah Truth is; the team/players/coach didnt respect basel and we paid for it Finally someone called Fergie's bluff and bloody almost made them pay.
I have watched United play at times with four people up top and dare teams in a game of brinkmanship. The london teams blinked and got humiliated by a team they really should beat, at least Spurs and Chelsea should.
It took little Basle to show what I suspected. This team is no worldbeater yet. And the good results early on are a product of a more rigorous preseason preparation and kamikaze tactics. Eventually teams will catch up an this team will struggle to at best a third place finis all these cos we played Basel 3-3 at home? how is this different from our game against CSKA 2 seasons ago? The London teams blinked and lost 3-0, 3-1, 8-2? i pray they dont blink in the reverse fixtures |
