We played shyte early on, yes but got stronger to the extent we went on a run of 22 games without a loss. . . . we practically shut teams out in a way it couldn't matter less if our goalie was taking a nap while the game was on. God knows we didn't achieve that with a defence-line (more to the point a midfield) that makes us look upwards to the heavens in supplication everytime the opposition get within 20yards of our goal. Even more annoying it doesn't even matter who that opposition is; whether Crewe Alexandra, Tirana Torpedoes or Ibhola Lethu!

no it doesnt look like we have such defence cos Vida has been injured and rio has not been fit all through. if they play as a unit together; we'll be fine

Chei with all d arguments here one would think we are Arsenal  . Pple should just chill. After d flying start we had, its only natural we would drop off once d games started coming thick and fast, with injuries to also contend with. I can't lie Ando has looked a little off recently. But d season is long, nobody goes thru d season permanently on form. Even past players like Ruud, CR7, Keane, Cantona e.t.c didn't go thru d season permanently on form. All you can ask is that they produce decent results even when they aren't close to 80%. We played some breathtaking stuff in d opening month, so a little dip is allowed.

Tkb, based on Evra's recent performances, can you be sure that Evra will remain in position when he plays RM, Barca or Bayern?
Even if he goes forward, can you say with certainty that he will immediately return to his position at the back once his work is done up front?
How many times has he done that recently?

Evra is no longer as effective as he used to be as a left back and that's the honest truth.
He forgets that his primary assignment is the LB position too often for comfort.

We are basically playing d only fit & available players at d back. We all know that Rio, Vida and possibly Rafael & Smalling would all be playing ahead of d current players, if they were fit. Did anyone expect that with d likes of Evans, Jones, Fabio, Valencia in defense we wouldn't be vulnerable. This is not playstation or FM.

D part of d squad where we have plenty injuries is at back, and it only makes sense that is where there will problems. Top of league, with more players to return after d international break. Why all d doom & gloom.

Truth is; the team/players/coach didnt respect basel and we paid for it

Finally someone called Fergie's bluff and bloody almost made them pay.

I have watched United play at times with four people up top and dare teams in a game of brinkmanship. The london teams blinked and got humiliated by a team they really should beat, at least Spurs and Chelsea should.


It took little Basle to show what I suspected. This team is no worldbeater yet. And the good results early on are a product of a more rigorous preseason preparation and kamikaze tactics. Eventually teams will catch up an this team will struggle to at best a third place finis
