TKB, u for tell me b4 now say na footie business you dey, this one you dey quote sign on abi sign up fee  grin  grin  grin
Infact i dey go beef up my CV and send to you right away.

Anyway, i just have an idea right now for my next interview;

Interviewer: So how much do you think we can pay you
ME : We can start with 20m/annum

Interviewer: Eemmm,,, where do you see yourself in five years time?
ME  : I see myself earning about 100m/annum in this company, hope you guys can afford that?  cool  cool  cool

Its really funny how these things look normal as you move up, i remember when i was doing NYSC, my biggest prayer was to be able to make 50k/month, and i was damn contented on that.  grin

Don't despair folks, we'll still get to those EDs and SVPs one day too, or even print our own money like R. Kiyosaki likes to say about Entrepreneurs that do IPO of thier business.

That's what i was saying brov, in my org, if you see monthly take home for big dons, you'll think they are beggarly. But check out quarterly and annual pays, and you'll hide your head, so the weight won't hurt your skull  grin
Cece

funny how it sounds but some foreign dudes in my place got somethn they called " sign on fees"
lolol

nyways, i agree with you

i can remember my dream when i was in 300 level. I met someone who worked in pwC and he told me he earned around 120k and i was like mehn, only if i cna get 50k per month, ill be the biggest bobo

after NYSC, the 50 dream moved up a bit to like 110 and after a few years, your guess is as good as mine

Jesus christ !!

see why i said i need to relocate back to nigeria.

I know a SVP earning around £300k minus bonus in my bank.

that equates to around £13,810.00 after tax. (anyone earning above £100 gets killed by 50% tax here)

converting £13,810.00 to Naira is about 3 million per month. Multiply that by 12 is about 36 million.

If someone is earning 80 million as ED in nigeria. An equivalent in the UK will probably be earning close to about £500k this is crazy.
just come packaged with your accent and your 'beefed up' CV

if u do well, you'll get 20m at least

i no dey exaggerate

@Netotse
flow with the flow and let us know how much bonuses you share in the Power sector

maybe when these utilities are sold, probably you can start flexing like Ajanlekoko and Candy grin
I have never agreed with Tosin better than this.

Things had gone awry before then quite alright but the phone call escalated the crisis.

This whole saga is one of the instances where the protagonists involved in the drama should have just kept quiet and allow the issue to play itself out naturally - if fans on both camps or even critics on neither divide are fanning flames of war and the warlords remain quiet, won't the fans n critics get tired??

The phone call thingy just took the ish to another dimension.
Gbam!!!!

AjanleKoko:
Hmm.
If person quote wetin people on DM and above dey earn for some banks here, most banking diasporeans will rush back home.
10m is even entry level for a lot of those E&P companies now in oil and gas. Even the so-called 'Nigerian content'. You'll be shocked what people are earning.
Most SMs and above in banks now earn 25m and above. GMs, EDs . . .you really don't wanna know.
I personally know an ED that has an annual salary of N80m. Excluding bonuses, profit sharing, and other perks.
Though IBs abroad earn far more than that. I know someone who's a SVP at Goldman in NY, and he is earning more than that ED.
My boss

someones sign up fee alone at my place was 20m last year.

Like you said, the senior Managers in the banks are earning around 20m and above and u really wanna ask what they do to deserve such amount

ure right, the IBs abroad earn more than the IBs in Nigeria but. . . .

some boiz are cleaning out

SVP in Golmand Sachs?

ex Uniben? the chaps in Goldman NY are baggers!

expecially the 9jas there, den don clean out. Presently, the deals Goldman and Vine Capital are doing in 9ja will make some of those guys extra baggers grin grin grin

im still scheming to go there sha. if u sabi the way, help ur bros ohhh grin

Hmmnnnnn,
Maybe some orgs do flat rate of equal monthly pay for 12 months sha. Thats the only way a 750k/annum will be for around 10m/annum earners.
But for my org and many others i know that do housing, leave, furniture, location pays as a lump sum, set apart from the monthly take home, if you add all these to the package of a person taking 750k/month, you will be having stuff like 18-20milla per annum ooo.
If that kinda bounty is still not enough for your desired living brov, you can as well consider a career in professional politricks
i laff at the part in bold (career in pro politricks)

and again, i said above 10m

jumman:
Who coined the term "RUNS" in our Tertiary Institutions, mind u RUNS is another word for prostitution.
runs can be used interchangeably for all the vices bois/gals perpetrate on campuses

Runs= aristo and stuff
runs= carrying expo
runs= confra/cultism
runs= pimping

so the term 'runs' isnt exclusive to what you call prostutution

no way

CareerRe: Welcome To My Office by tkb417(m): 11:25am On Nov 09, 2010
750k a month is not likely, with a N10m salary. You have to consider tax, pension, and whatever structure may still come out of that 10m, like 13th month, leave allowance, housing, etc. Unless na bank sha, they are pretty good at hiding their salaries from the tax man. Maybe more like 600k a month.
like you said banks hide stuff for their staff and i was refering to those who earn above 10million

You are talking of a young man abi? Mind you that range of monthly pay can only be assessed by Senior mgt level in blue chips, and then some well heeled private business hunchos.
If you figure out how few that range are, then you know the rest live on stuff way below that range, and they still live a good life.
hahaha

na lie oh
b4 hurricane sanusi, some DMs were collecting between 11 and 13m p.a

and oh yeah, some mid-level IBs and some pros in O n G  were cashing 13-15 a year. Im not sure peeps like dt can be called senior managers

im sure the senior managers earn between 15 and 20 pere annum and thats way above 750k per month

i agree only a tiny fraction of the population earn such amount so with your 750k, u suppose be big bobo for your area grin grin
i don't get the bolded part.
many nigerian men have this mentality and it baffles me. this idea that the wife should and must be financially dependent on the husband.
this is the reason why most are looking for young girls who are in their most naive and financially gullible state.
then they complain that the girls are after their money.
The Husband is the head of the house

my wifes riches/money is hers and i do not intend to share responsibilities with my wife

i get what ure trying to say but its not uncommon in this part of the world for wives to depend on thier hussies financially, emotionally, spiritually

36 is not a bad age to marry if you have attained the level of education and accomplishment that man has. in fact, many men are marrying in their mid 30s nowadays.

what is the purpose of having 10 kids by age 25 when you don't have the good job to cater for their well being?
most educated people tend to eat better and live healthier lives anyway. and tend not to be too obsessed with having a male child
exposure is key!

The ability to know when and whom to marry is not a small thing

why should i get married when i wont be able to raise the kids the best way or when my wife would be humping molue with pregnancy?

i will marry when i know my wife will live like a queen and oh yeah, ill be married well b4 i clock 36

U think a naija old man and a yankee old man will av d same agility . . . u better start eating healthy, stop smoking n drink less system damagin concussions.
errrm

i didnt talk about Obama and Americans

i used IBB/OBJ and so your post is invalid!

when a man/woman marries has got nothing to do with age; convenience, maturity and ability to keep a spouse are the ingredients

only the society rejects jump unto marriage cos the next door neighbour just signed the dotted lines

and about the smoking and drinking spat, where did you get that?

maybe i shouldnt have allowed Jomo Gbomo put me on the thread. Now ure of the reasons NLders assume fake identities so people dont start bandying fake gists about them
