What could have prompted a right thinking individual calling the President of his country a fool? This is like calling his country a fool. Even a nursery school pupil will know that Goodluck's initial ban was a serious wake up call. Why are we castigating the same man that has resuscitated the "Never Say Die" spirit Nigerians are known for in those years? Is this a curse on us?
Lie!!!
The gurls were gonna play very well irrespective of the shambolic display of the eagles and the proposed ban. we are only experiencing rot in the super eagles. The other national teams have been doing well. forget the never say die rant- That was a lie

For the numerous senseless wars that America has plunged several trillions of Dollars both in material and human wastes, i have never come across any instance where an American will call his/her president a fool.
another lie- some americans called George Bush worse names- Is it right? NO, is it wrong ? maybe Yes
if its a punishable offence, let him go to court

Seun, i think the IP Address of the guy that called our President a fool should be sent to the SSS for possible collaboration with INTERPOL. Enough is enough.
so that the man can be executed or what? you think this is Iraq abi na Pakistan?

Im sure DSTV would have the $100m regardless. . . . they should be in almost every country in Africa. . .it seems every hotel/bar in Africa has DSTV subscription. . . . I for one rate their SuperSports channel as the best sports channel out there, even better than the European sports channels.
DSTV wrote a cheque of 100mills as soon as GTB and Hitv started running like headless chickens

im sure HiTV started the whole process at the 11th hour

shameful i swear

Help me oh!!!!!!!!!

I have asked this question in the business section and nobody answered me.

What does an oil trading company in Nigeria do?

Is it that they act as middle man between a foreign oil company and Nigerian gas station

or the oil trading companies are just owners of gas stations.

I just want to know because i have been wondering. Maybe i should start a thread to ask this question.
They simply buy products ( dirty products, white fuel et al) from refineries around (neighboruing countries) and some other foreign countries, supplement with NNPC allocation and sell to wholesale consumers

cos some would like to capture the extra margins in the chain, they are now going integrated, building tank farms and going into retail

basically, they buy products, and sell wholesale

Trading is still at the rudimentary stage no futures and options yet

i may be wrong but i know some of the oil traders and what they do is what ive stated clearlt

As a customer and a consumer, all i care about is value for money, and HiTV was not providing that for their customers.
hey mister, how many years did it take DSTV to attain the level they are now? incompetence you called it? i call it learning the biz.
do you know about setanta and sky in UK? read up if you dont

Was it Sanusi's fault that over 70% of HiTV subscribers failed to renew their subscription until the start of a new premier league season? Was it Sanusi's fault that DSTV provided a far better viewing experience during the last world cup, drawing millions of customers away during that lucrative period?
the issue has got nothing to do with subscribers paying or not paying. The got letters from the bank to EPL requesting for more days to get the guarantee. The delay was due to the current risk mgt anthem in all our banks

Banks are in the business of lending money. And it's every Bank's dream to lend money to thriving, strong companies with good cashflows. Banks LOVE lending to monopolies - they've got the business cornered. Since the HiTV management failed woefully to  make the best of their opportunity, why blame Sanusi?
not sure u understand what happened Not sure you know about Hitv and its operations (cashflow) if you do, u wont make this comment. HiTv was profitable and was doing fine- for the records!!!!!!

I thought HiTV won the deal last year, what took them so long to pay?

Anyways Nigerians who were going to ghana to buy DSTV decoder (as i heard) in other to be a able to watch the premiership will have to return it now that DSTV Nigeria has won the rights back.
i still have the smartcard from Ghana

i dont have to return it. at least no one is gonna wrestle the rights from them in Ghana in the nearest future

as to ur first point, they paid 40milla for the first year but were supposed to give bank guarantees for the 2nd and third year
totalling about 80milla USD

The bottleneck associated with the processing delayed the thing and oh yeah, the SA boys came with a cheque

i think the Mgt shd have been at it long enough to ensure they get the approvals needed long b4 the EPL peeps started breathing down their neck and also, i feel the CBN shd have helped in some waivers (just to save a 9ja biz)

nyways, its all done and dusted

its DSTV now!!!
Christianity EtcRe: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by tkb417(m): 6:20pm On Jul 23, 2010
same ol' hogwash

*** Adeboye acted when the allegations came up

**** Erastus is rich enough to give

**** God knows what to reject and from whom he'll reject - in essence, let God do his work. I DO NOT KNOW whom God has classified a sinner
even on the cross when Jesus was to b crucified, one of thieves around him got saved

Adeboye is not on planet earth to chastise and condemn sinners, his mandate is to preach the word of God to them
Condemning sinners is not one of the mandates, let the law enforcement agents do their thing if they have issues with Adeboye and Erastus
Christianity EtcRe: Is Rccg And Pastor Adeboye Obliged To Return Akingbola Looted Offering? by tkb417(m): 5:15pm On Jul 23, 2010
So are you saying Akingbola was not a thief in the sight of God until EFCC exposed him?
sight of God but not sight of Adeboye; Adeboye is not God

2. Are you also of the opinion Akingbola the thief's offering was acceptable to God?
do you think an adulterers offering is acceptable to God? or a liar? all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. By your postulation, everybodys offering will not be acceptable to God. Let God decide who and who he takes offering from. I dont know what God wants. I am human not God and i doubt ure God too

3. It's Good you say the offering was made to God not Adeboye. If God does not accept offering of thieves, Why is Adeboye and RCCG battling to hold onto money God didnt accept in the first place and waiting for court order like debosky says?
tell us how you want Adeboye to know which of the offerings came from the illegally acquired wealth. Akingbola is a rich man just like Ovia i repeat. He built the bank from scratch so u shd know how rich he is

4. if it was not accepted by God as God does not receive offerings from thieves, why is RCCG still keeping the money?

5. i also repeat that God does not differentiate the legal or illegal income of a thief. As long as you are a thief God will not accept your offering. So why is RCCG actively trying to claim his offerings are from his legal income when it is infact inconsequential to God which is which as they are all unacceptable and unholy as long as the giver is a thief?

This scenario is not uncommon, upstart arises and thumbs its nose at an incumbent operator, enjoys some initial success but ultimately fails because the incumbent has too much of a financial and quality advantage. Its just the Setanta and Sky scenario replaying itself all over again. Someone made a nice suggestion which is currently being done in the UK where the likes of Tiscali (now Talktalk TV) and BT Open Vision are carrying Sky Channels to their subscriber's homes with Sky being mandated to sell those channels to them at reduced rates to what they charge their direct customers (the case is still in court though and Sky might just win it).
I think HiTV will survive, I think they have Nigezie up on Sky though I don't think its a subscription service cos I don't subscribe to it. Government intervention may be required to stop DSTV becoming a monopoly though, not to kill them but to encourage the smaller companies.
thank you

Govt shd help these budding companies. Its not easy abeg

But I have it on good authority that the bank was going to bleep them up anyway.
why?
The banks MD and Multichoice are at daggersdrawn so i heard

so the MD would ordinarily want the deal to go through?

besides, why would the bank not support one of their good customers?
Cool, so you concede Pastor Akingbola is a THIEF, and RCCG consider him a THIEF too thats why he was dismissed.

1. Does God accept the offerings of thieves?

2. Does it matter to God in receiving offerings which account either personal income or looted income of a thief or does God consider the personality of the Giver?

3. If God does not receive offerings from thieves, what is RCCG's justification for keeping same?
1. The offering was made before Akingbola was derobed/sacked. Let God decide what he'll do with him

2> God considers the personality of the Giver hence the reason why Cains offering was unacceptable. RCCG is not God and Adeboye isnt God either. The offer was to God not to Adeboye

3. Let us determine how much of the offering was illegally acquired before you can shout. What if the part he gave was from what he legally made

akingbola is a rich man just like Jim Ovia and co.

if this happened in South Africa or any other country

would they allow a foreign company take the rights from a local company cos they couldnt pay?

wouldnt the Govt of the country help in facilitating the bank guarantee? cos the acquisition of the rights was solely dependent on that document

so wtf is wrong with our peeps/govt?
