EducationRe: Authentication And Legalization Of Educational Documents by toemie(m): 10:43am On May 08, 2024
I have just completed an authentication and legalisation process with Dr Lammy. I needed to authentic my marriage certificate and my wife and children's birth certificates and legalise it at Belgium Embassy in Abuja. I followed this thread and decided to take my shot by reaching out to him. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the process. The process was seamless though it took some time because of some additional request by the embassy which was absolutely no fault of his. If there is anyone here who is still doubting him I can tell you that he is genuine. When the documents were ready, I told him not to send it through DHL as I would be in Abuja for a short official trip to collect them. I met him physically and he was as pleasant as he is over the phone. I highly recommend him and won't hesitate to refer him to people as well.
Thank you Dr. Lammy.

i just recieved a refuasal mail after i waited for 2 month
i used a sponsor and i ahve travelled to 3 countries
the reason for their refusal is still not clear to me
please can someone assist to elaborate on the refusal letter as am confused

REASONS FOR REFUSAL NRA v 1.0
You have applied for a visa to visit the UK.
In deciding whether you meet the requirements of Appendix V: of the Immigration Rules for
visitors (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-v-visitorrules), I have considered:
 your application
 your immigration history
The decision
I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the
requirements of paragraph(s) 4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for visitors because:
 You state that you wish to travel to the United Kingdom for 15 days for tourism.
 While I acknowledge that your sponsor proposes to bear the cost of your visit.
However, I must take into account your personal and economic circumstances in
your home country when coming to my decision.

 You state you are employed as a Customer Service Officer earning a monthly salary
of 89020.06 NGN (£184.70 at an exchange rate of £1 = 480.00 NGN as per
oanda.com on 09/10/2022). In support of your application, you have provided an
employment letter, payslips and bank statements in your name. While I am satisfied
that you are employed and receive a salary, however, the bank statements show
deposits made into the account which are in excess of your total claimed income.
You have not provided any details on your application as to the origin of these funds
and I am unable to determine this from the statement or the other evidence provided.
I am not satisfied that the funds held in your account are under your exclusive
control. I am therefore not satisfied that you have provided an accurate reflection of
your financial circumstances in Nigeria as stated on your application.
 Additionally, I note a bank balance for account number ending 5363, this shows a
balance in USD. However, as this is just a balance I cannot determine where these
funds originate. Therefore I cannot confirm that you have sufficient funds available for
your visit.
 You state that you earn 1,000,000.00 NGN (£2074.86) a year from another income.
However, with the information you have provided you have not demonstrated how or
that you are in receipt of these funds as stated on your application form. As such, I
am not satisfied that your personal circumstances are as stated by you which leads
me to doubt the credibility of the statements made in your application form and your
intentions for visiting the UK at this time.
 In light of all the above, this leads me to question this application, your intentions for
this stay and that your declared personal and economic circumstances are as you
portray in your country of residence. Consequently, I am not satisfied that only a
short visit is intended and you will leave the UK after this trip.
 From the information on your application form and the documents you have
submitted, I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the United Kingdom or that you
are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused
under paragraphs 4.2 (a) and (c) of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for Visitor
Hi.. Sorry for your refusal. When you are applying for visitor's visa, that part of the form where they state how much you earn on a monthly basis and how much you earn from other sources should be filled with caution. My advice to people is analyze your six-months bank statements yourself first before putting any figure in the application form. It can happen that you received a huge amount of money due to many reasons. You may sell your car, obtain a loan from your company or someone might even ask you to keep money for him/her. If you have any huge deposit, please explain it in a cover letter. Explain every single deposit above your normal income. For the USD account, i'm not sure what the visa officer said, but if i understand correctly, he just saw closing balance, there is no inflow/outflow which means no transactions for the last six months (if you provided a six month statement), this also would be queried. If you have a bank account with no transaction for the last six months eventhough there is a balance, its either you take time to explain why, or you don't include it in your application. All the best!

My advice to everyone again is what i call "work-back".. Which means work back from your bank statement to your application. Don't fill your application from your head without having enough evidence to attach. If you earn 1 million from other sources, and nothing like that adds up from your bank statement, even if its true, you should be careful.

Hello Gurus. I guess it's okay to book a flight ticket as my application has 4 checks (transferred to VAC). If not, please let me know. Thank you.
Until you have your passport with you and you can see the visa with your own eyes, please do not book your flight

Sorry bro, you can’t use company account fund for travel expenses, please try and build your account for the next 6 month, if you can try this method believe me you will get it this time. Place your self on a salary i.e by paying yourself monthly salary from your company account to your personal account for a duration of 6 month, depending on how your company is trading you can place your self on monthly salary of 500k or more with transaction remark (SALARY).

With this method as a company owner you can analyze your yearly income through the salary you are paying yourself, and have a specific amount you would be spending each month as your monthly expense.

When you are ready to apply next you will submit your company account along with your personal account. I will advise you not to travel as a family in your next application, maybe you and your wife first or you alone so your kids can stand as your tie back home.

Good luck!!!!
In addition, for the part where they mentioned that there is little evidence to demonstrate that your company is running at a profit and is financial stable, you would need to provide Tax clearance certificate of your company. That will give some insights about the financial status of the company when you re-apply... Good luck

But why are you criticizing someone who gave you advice based on their own judgment? None of the men or women on this forum, in my opinion, are visa officers. All of us are here looking for assistance in some way. Those that make comments or offer advice on a certain subject do so in accordance with their personal opinions. They merely wish to assist, but that does not guarantee that their views will be entirely accurate. All you have to do is choose the ones you are certain will be helpful. To criticize someone is inappropriate.

In any case, congrats.
Thank you for this. I was about saying exactly the same. Every comments here is just for guidance and advise based on their opinions and experience. I have seen here where someone got a visa without some of the documents mentioned here that is critical and someone has provided a lot of documents with healthy financial history but still denied. If you get visa, thank God for your own, it doesn't mean you were ill-advised.

Hello guys I need advice, this is my 4 rd visa application for the uk, the previous 3 visitor visa were successful, one while I was a child (6 months) and two as adult ( 6 months and 2 years visa). Now I submitted a new application for my tourist visa , I’m a Uni student currently and was a Uni student when I made the other two last application as an adult.. I was sponsored by a family member who is a British citizen during the last two application. Fast forward to the current application, I and the family member aren’t on good terms no more so I decided to get my friend who is British citizen sponsor my application for the first time with his details and all that… after reading the thread now , post submission, I noticed a lot of ppl are saying that when A lump sum enters the account of a sponsor that it’s a problem … I just realized that my friend had a lump sum transfer of 5,000 pounds into his account within the same month of printing the account, although his account shows his work and salary being paid into his account separately and clearly, he explained to me that the lump sum was for money that he had borrowed to his family and they paid him back, I didn’t write a cover letter for that … he is a British citizen and works in the uk and I’ve had 3 previous uk visas in the past and an American visa … could this lump sum be a problem despite my previous uk visas that I have held in the past for short term (6months) and long term (2years)… any input would be appreciated, as I stumbled on this thread late after submitting my application as it’s the first time my friend will be sponsoring my trip and not family like my previous applications..?

Before I sold the land in feb I had bout 2.3 after selling the land I had about 22m which I bought a car for my wife and and did an investment for 6.5 which all receipts and certificate of investment where included in my application.

Finally I applied with a balance of 2.420 in June
It is not wrong for someone to have huge deposits in his bank accounts as long as it is well justified with documents evidence. I mean anything can happen, sale of house, car, land etc. What would have happened is that in the application where it is mentioned "Other Sources of Income, investments" etc, you could have ticked and mention the total amount you received. When it comes to filling the part about employment status, monthly income, other earnings, you should fill it together with what appears on your bank statements to be on the safe side In fact, your figures in the application should match with bank statements. I believe you have good reasons and explanations to address the concerns on the refusal once you re-apply.

Oh wow. I leave the floor to other members of the group because honestly, you already did most of the things i wanted to advise. Some times these things happen. Some people even didn't provide as much documents as you did and got the visa while some who had 30 million etc in their account got refused. Just for next time when you re-apply, they would want you to address those concerns for the refusal.

Hello House, I got this rejection letter this morning, pls advise
Hi, sorry for the refusal. Just for next time in case you want to reapply, you need to satisfy the visa officer in at least two of these three things: Travel history, Home ties and Financial capability. From the refusal letter, the visa officer obviously wasn't satisfied with your travel history. Home ties: are you single, married, do you have children, are you employed, unemployed, business owner? something to prove that you will come back and are you financially capable to sponsor yourself on a tourist trip to the UK. You did not mention any friend/family in UK so why choose Liverpool? London should have been more preferable. You could attach a cover letter and further documents explaining in details your itinerary in the UK and intention of travel. Wish you goodluck!

Hi Bro, I agree that it’s a bit confusing but let me acquaint you with why some people might need school details in their application.
Take for instance my younger bro is schooling in Netherlands, came to visit me in the UK.
He works part time as well so I’m his application he added admission letter from school, his result thus far, school ID card that showed that he would go back to complete his studies. He also added other relevant details about his part time job and he added proof of funds.
So what I am saying is the situation you are determines the type of document you will present especially as home tie.
However, for this applicant, I feel there are lot of information missing and he needs to let us know what type of visa was previously refused, and what type did he apply for now, since you are now a graduate why including these in your application… I doubt if he was applying for visitor visa anyway…
My point exactly...
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by toemie(m): 9:39am On Jul 28, 2022
kod161:
Honestly and to be fair, I don’t know what they need again regarding your school info, if he has stated he is a graduate and he has provided certificate and admission letter from school, what other evidence do you need to show you are a graduate?

The only issue I have is, in your previous application, you chose that your dad will sponsor you, did you fill it there that you had no job or that you were employed?
If you were unemployed in January and you got a new job now then you should able to show a new letter of employment that showed that you only got employed after the last application, also the ECO is wondering why you ain’t touching your salary, it could be that you strategically put the money there for the application… so if you genuinely saving your salary and you have other means of living… then you need to state it that you have other source of funds maybe from friends and family and explain why they give you these funds maybe pocket money from parents. You also need to show where the funds are being paid too and how often you spend them cos you can’t be living without spending money no matter how small. But if all these doesn’t reflect in your statement m. The ECO will be confused. As for your school, maybe you should add your transcript, pictures of you In School, student ID card, other proof that you went to school since they need more proof even though I feel you have demonstrated more than enough in that regards. Keep the faith bro, it will happen
To be honest, i did not want to comment on this thread because i was asking myself if it is a student visa or a visiting visa. If its a visit visa, how did admission letter, transcript, etc enter the application. If in your previous application, you mentioned you are going to the UK on a visit and you are unemployed but your dad was going to sponsor you, that's all. School documents are irrelevant. If now you are employed and capable to go on the trip by sponsoring yourself, all well and good. But what i captured in the ECO's recent refusal letter is that within four months, you now have a job and enough savings to sponsor yourself to the UK? and the statement has no debit transactions only credits? C'mon... The whole thing is confusing.

Hello house a friend got this. What could have gone wrong ?

Secondly, what does immigration history means?

Thanks in anticipation.
Hello, the VO could not march the bank statements the person provided with the amounts he/she claimed to be earning in a year. If you stated in your application that you have investments that generates income of 3,550,000 per year, it would have been nice if you provided an investment certificate to back up that claim. You are self employed with a business registration. A company bank statement should also be provided and there should an amount being paid to your personal account from the business account to support the monthly salary claims. This should be built consistently within six months instead of one huge deposit amount appearing in the bank statement. Some deposits could actually be explained but that would suffice when you re-apply. The Visa Officer assumed that you don't have access to the funds. Its logic. Immigration history could also mean travel history, where has the person travelled to. Good-luck!!!

Hi guys,

Please i had a US visa (two years) which expired in July 2020 but i did not use it (i.e., didn't travel) due to change of plans coupled with COVID issues. How do i incorporate this fact in my travel history? Other countries i have visited include UAE, Egypt and South Africa but i believe if i had gone to US it would have further boosted my travel history, however i couldn't go. How can i capture this fact in my application? Thanks.
