The Nigeria Army will still receive vehicles from Proforce and Innoson, Despite making the Ezugwu MRAP.This I'm sure it's to keep the DICON alive and working since it was at it's brink of closure. Some of y'all are complaining of How it looks and stuffs but don't know the level of testing and R&D they have passed through.im very sure this vehicle was also made in collaboration with proforce..

NIGERIAN ARMY, DICON SIGN AGREEMENT FOR EZUGWU MRAP VEHICLES PRODUCTION

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday formalised agreement with the Defence Industries Corporation of NIGERIA / Command Engineering Depot on mass production of 28 Mines Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles for its counter terrorism/insurgency and other operations across the nation.

The agreement was signed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai, represented by the Chief of Policy and Plans, 'Army' Lt Gen Lamidi Adeosun and the Director General of DICON, Maj Gen Victor Ezugwu at the Army Headquarters Abuja.

Buratai disclosed that the agreement would enable DICON/CED to roll out the vehicles within a specified period of time.

This act by the Nigerian Army under the dynamic and ingenious leadership of Lt Gen TY Buratai is in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria local content policy, where the Army has since been working assiduously to locally manufacture/produce her basic requirements in the areas of lift capability, light weapons, Armoured Personnel CarrierHe and kitting.

According to him " it was in furtherance of the government’s effort to reduce reliance on foreign countries to acquire the needed equipment for its operations towards addressing the prevailing security challenges across the country that this event is been executed today.

Buratai commended DICON for its commitment to developing local content and capacity of the home based engineers of the Nigerian Army to solve the nation’s security problems.

He added that the initiative was to look inward through research and development to come up with what can be called indigenous MRAP vehicle.

“We are gathered here today to actualise one of the lofty dreams of the army in reducing challenges of having to rely on everything from outside Nigeria in terms of lethal equipment for Nigerian Army.

“Lethal requirement is one of the critical requirements that assist in professionally discharging our duties after good training.

“We have been relying solely in getting this critical equipment from outside.

“All of us are fully aware of the challenges that the Nigerian Army and Nigeria as a country has continued to face in all attempt to acquire all important military equipment for Nigerian armed forces particularly the army.

“We will go ahead to sign the agreement for the first ever locally produced MRAPs by the Nigerian Army in collaboration with DICON and Command Enguneering Depot in phases of the contract agreement,’’ he said.

Responding, the Director General of DICON, said that the first batch of the 10 MRAPs in production at its factory in Kaduna would be delivered in December, 2019.

He assured that the company had the capacity and the manpower to execute the agreement in line with the government’s plan to develop local content.

According to him, I want to assure you that we will meet the timeline for this contract and the first set of 10 of these vehicles will be ready by early December this year.

“The partnership has brought about the first indigenous MRAP vehicle and I want to thank the Chief of Army Staff for having confidence in us which ordinarily would have been mission impossible.

“The beautiful thing about what we are witnessing today is that we are doing both research and development and production of this vehicle together.

“That is why in less than a year, we have the prototype produced and we are going into the mass production phase with this contract signing.

“I want to assure COAS that the standard that is contained in the characteristics of MRAP vehicle would be maintained.

“We have passed the phase of research and development, we are in full production,” he said.

Many senior army officers were in attendance during the historic event which include the Chief of Logistics Army Maj Gen JI Unuigbe, Chief of Projects and Programmes Maj Gen MSA Aliyu, Corp Commander Ordnance Maj Gen OA Akintade, Director Legal Services Maj Gen YI, Shalangwa and Commander Command Enguneering Depot Brig Gen SS Araoye.

although some weeks ago while I was walking him one early morning around 5:30am one guy was jogging with his local dog off leash,as they were coming close to us Roscoe attacked the dog surprisingly, the guy's dog ran away with it's tail in between his legs and Roscoe started trying to chase it.
I had to sit on the floor so he won't drag me and get the dog, after some time the dog came back and ran passed to get to his owner the owner of the dog was even laughing at it.
that's the first time he has attacked another dog, but that's not the first time he has seen that dog before, he saw the dog when he was about 6 months old and he ignored it, then the dog was about 9yrs old.

*SIXTEEN BOKO HARAM/ISLAMIC STATE WEST AFRICA PROVINCE MEMBERS SURRENDER AS TROOPS INTENSIFY OPERATIONS AGAINST CRIMINAL ELEMENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY*

The incremental raids, clearance patrols, sting operations, cordon & search operations as well as mortar and artillery bombardment of identified criminal insurgents and bandits' hideouts within the past one week has yielded tremendous positive outcomes as some of the terrorists surrendered to our gallant troops while several others were neutralised. The period equally witnessed the interception and arrest of several Boko Haram Logistics Suppliers and informants by the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE as well as the arrest or neutralisation of some bandits and other criminal elements in the North West and other parts of the nation.

On 1st November 2019 for instance, 16 insurgents along with 8 of their spouses who could no longer bear the heat from the onslaught against them surrendered to the relentless troops of Sector 1, Multinational Joint Task Force at Fotokol. Subsequently, the surrendered insurgents were later handed over to troops of 3 Battalion (Main) at Gamboru Ngala, a border town NE of Borno State. During preliminary interrogation and profiling, they confessed to have actively participated in attacks conducted against both military and civilian targets at various times. It was further revealed that 14 of them whose names are Ibrahim Bunu, Abba Sale, Baba Lamba Alhaji, Bukar Isa, Bukar Ali, Rawa Abba Gana, Mustapha Abatcha, Umar Abubakar, Hassan Bukar, Malam Abatcha Ali, Abba Umar Abatcha, Hussaini Babagana, Idris Mohammed and Umar Abba Bayoma all belonged to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) led by Al - Barnawi while the remaining 2, Hassan Kawu and Babagana Bukar Adijabe belonged to Boko Haram (Abubakar Shekau Faction). The repentant insurgents however, regretted their participation in the heinous crimes they committed against humanity and are now calling on their former colleagues to retrace their steps and also surrender to troops before it is too late.

In another development, troops deployed at Gajigana in Magumeri LGA of Borno State intercepted some Boko Haram criminals in the early hours of Tuesday 5th November 2019. It is believed that the insurgents were on their way to attack the community to source for food items and other logistics for their survival. However, the vigilant troops blocked and neutralised 3 of the Boko Haram criminals while several others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, one soldier paid the supreme price while 2 others were wounded in action. The wounded soldiers are currently responding to treatment in a military medical facility. Additionally, the troops captured 2 AK 47 Rifles, one Rocket Propelled Gun 7 (RPG 7), 5 AK 47 magazines, 47 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and some quantities of hard drugs during exploitation. In a related incident, another Boko Haram criminal met his waterloo on 4th November 2019 while attempting to cross into the Sambisa Forest at Bama - Banki Road Junction when own tps sighted and neutralized him.

Similarly, troops of 195 Battalion, while on clearance patrol along Gubio Road on 4th November 2019 recovered a kit bag containing 480 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition suspected to have been abandoned by escaping terrorists. In another encounter with the Boko Haram criminals on 6 November 2019 at Muchima in Damboa LGA of Borno State, 9 Boko Haram insurgents were neutralized by troops while others escaped with gunshot wounds. Additionally, one insurgent Gun Truck was destroyed, 4 AK 47 Rifles and a cache of ammunition were recovered. Similarly, troops of Sector 2 deployed at Damaturu, Yobe State dealt a decisive blow to the insurgents’ attempt to infiltrate the town on 7 November 2019. The attempted infiltration was thwarted by the combined efforts of ground troops, artillery bombardment and precision air strikes by the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE. The encounter led to the decimation of a number of the insurgents in addition to the destruction of one Boko Haram Gun Truck. Unfortunately, one Officer paid the supreme price during the encounter. Furthermore, during their exploitation, troops discovered and safely detonated 2 Unexploded Ordnance materials planted by the insurgents as well as the charred remains of some of the terrorists that were hurriedly buried by the criminal insurgents while withdrawing in disarray following the superior firepower of our troops.

Outside the North East theatre, troops on Operation MESA continued to increase the momentum of their operations across the nation during the period. For instance, on 4th November 2019, troops of 1 Division Garrison deployed at Damakasuwa in Kauru LGA of Kaduna State arrested one Mustapha Usman Shehu while driving a Honda salon car with Registration number ABUJA BU 70 RBC along Damakasuwa - Kano Road with a Pump Action Gun loaded with 2 cartridges concealed in the vehicle compartment. Relatedly, on 5th November 2019 troops of 82 Division, while on a random Stop and Search Operation, arrested a notorious gun runner, Leonard Asogwa in a commercial bus travelling from Onitsha to Jos. A meticulous search of his baggage revealed 2 neatly concealed Pump Action Guns with 25 live cartridges. Additionally, troops of 1 Division Garrison, while acting on credible information, conducted a successful Cordon and Search operation at the country home of one Alhaji Shehu Abubakar of Yakawada Town in Giwa LGA of Kaduna State on 5th November 2019. Items recovered during the operation include: one AK 47 Rifle with 4 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunitions, one locally fabricated Revolver with 3 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO and one Pump Action Gun with 6 live cartridges. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is one of the suppliers of arms and ammunition to kidnappers and bandits terrorizing the resi of Kaduna and neighbouring States.

Furthermore, troops of Operation MESA in the North Central in conjunction with elements of Special Forces Bikers conducted clearance operation at Dam 1 and Timchan Villages in Kadarko District, Wase LGA of Plateau State as well as Kurmi Village in Ibi LGA of Taraba State. During the operations, 10 suspected militias were arrested while troops also recovered 101 Rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 71 Rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, one Plastic Explosive and 36 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) at the residence of one Shehu Jatau, a notorious militia gang leader, who was earlier arrested in a hotel in Central Area, Abuja. Additionally, one locally fabricated Rifle and a live cartridge were also recovered at Timchan Village.

In the Niger Delta region, troops of 146 Battalion (Main) in conjunction with personnel of Nigeria Police Finima Division while acting on information, conducted a swift raid operation against some suspected gunmen at Okobi and Conkiri Long John Abalamabie Communities in Bonny LGA of Rivers State. The raid led to the arrest of one suspect and recovery of 7 Rounds of 9mm ammunition, a pair of camouflage uniform, one black beret and wraps of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa (indian hemp).

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai wishes to reassure the general 2public of the resolve of the Nigerian Army to continue to execute our constitutional mandate professionally and responsively for a better and secured Nigeria. He also thank all well-meaning Nigerians for their continued support, goodwill and understanding towards officers and men of the Nigerian Army. He therefore enjoins all law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation and intimidation and to provide useful information about suspected criminal elements to security agencies.

IamAnderson:
Sorry I couldn't post when I promised, I got banned from NL for some reason and since then I haven't had the chance to post.

I've been keeping Roscoe indoors because of an incident that happened last Friday when I took him to the vet for his vaccine shots.
while we were coming back, he suddenly attacked one boy on the road, I was also surprised it happened because he's usually calm even in crowds.
he charged at the boy even with me holding his leash and even started chasing the boy as the boy ran away, it took some seconds before I recognized the boy he was trying to attack.
turns out it was the same boy that has been teasing him since he was about 4 months old, the boy always threw stones at him when I take him on walks and sometimes he'll come and touch him and run(although he stopped doing that as he grew up), he also used to come to my gate and tease him so he'll bark at him and even on some occasions he came to my house to fetch water he used to go to his kennel to taunt him while he's barking at him.
I was surprised he could pick out the boy from other people walking on the road even before I noticed him, as he started trying to attack him people started shouting and running away, luckily I was walking him with somebody so the two of us had to hold him back as he was struggling to leave his leash.
if something had happened, if I wasn't able to realise he wanted to attack the boy on time it might have ended as one of those stories you read online that a dog mauled a child and they had to kill the dog, people wouldn't even give me the chance to explain that I knew the boy and it was his fault(I warned him severally to stop teasing him but he saw it as play and continued, he only reduced it when Roscoe grew up and he started fearing him, even at that till now if Roscoe is in his kennel or is restrained he'll be taunting him).
to make things worse, some other kids were coming back from school where this thing happened and because of the frenzy he was already in(everyone was shouting and running) he started trying to attack them too.
I had to take him away from the road to a corner to calm down for some minutes before I took him home, this happened about a week ago and I didn't bring him outside again until this morning so the case will die down, I don't want any issue that has to do with my dog harming a child, at least this issue has opened their eyes, now when the children see him coming they run away without my warning unlike before that they'll be following us and be trying to get his attention no matter how may times I tell them to keep off.
but he's not a child killer though, some minutes after the incident I passed one of my neighbors, house were her child was playing outside and he wanted to touch Roscoe and his mum let me introduce him to the kid and he sniffed and licked him smiley
thankfully, his reckless behavior was just because of grudge and not sinister intentions.

here are some pics I was able to take, as usual he was too distracted to even pay attention to the camera for 2mins cheesy
Roscoe nor get joy o grin but thank God it was not more than what it was..God!!!! Roscoe make brain Sha Beauty, Strength and size...Wooow.
Spark oya do and big like Roscoe.its like spark will come and spend holiday with Roscoe so dat he will become like him grin

Odunayaw:
My opinions from the exercises.

Probably because the unit is young they're trying to get approvals from the pen pushers.
I don't understand this black shirt thingy as it defeats camouflage or is it because its a get in-get out CT thing?
it's probably just for training.they do have their training. They have their camo...
They should make use of the tsaigumi UAV instead of the King Air surveillance aircraft..It's fuel Efficient or it seems they want to upgrade it.because I've not seen or heard about it.only kaduna I know that had Acquired it.
