JUST IN: Nigerian Army troops today repelled yet another #ISWAP attack on the convoy of Borno State Gov Babagana Zulum on Sunday morning around Baga. The latest attack, which recorded no death, happened when the convoy was returning to Maiduguri.

Good job our beloved soldiers

The Nigerian Air Force in coordination with the Nigerian Army and regional troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force ( MNJTF) launched a successfully coordinated intelligence-led aerial strike on Boko Haram Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP ) hideouts in the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin on September 26, 2020.

The precision airstrikes were deployed just hours after a surprise ambush by a unit of ISIS-linked Islamic State of West Africa Province on a resettlement convoy en route Baga - several brave soldiers, policemen and civilians were sacrificed and wounded. This is the second ambush on the convoy of the BORNO state government in less than three months. The governor was not in the convoy of the latest ISWAP ambush which occurred along Monguno cross Kauwa road in comparison to the July 2020 ambush in Baga town.

Impeccable sources have confirmed that the aerial strikes targeted ISWAP jihadist at a location given as ARINNA SORO — situated along the fringes of the Lake Chad and Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno.

An initial ground damage assessment revealed the operational leadership decapitation of at least two-battlefield hardened ISWAP commanders - One Amir Sa'ad and another known as Abu Rahi. These two commanders are known to have previously cheated death alongside hundreds of jihadist fighters in a recent targeted aerial strike by the Nigerian Air Force in coordination with ground troops of the MNJTF at several jihadist locations; Kirta, Wulgo, Kwalaram, Tumbun Gini, Bakkassi, Kusuma, Bukar Mairam and Sabon Tumbun.

In the September 26 Airstrikes, sources also confirmed that dozens of ISWAP fighters were eliminated while some of the insurgents' heavy armoury was hit and destroyed by the precision Airstrike. In a chain of misfortune for ISWAP jihadist, scores of escaping insurgents were killed after own planted mines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were ignited by the Nigerian Air Force strike.

In recent months, Boko Haram Shekau and ISWAP factions have lost major camps as a result of aerial bombardment from state and regional forces targeting locations in the Sambisa Forest and the fringes of Lake Chad Basin. Thousands of Boko Haram ISWAP fighters have been neutralised with more than 22 high profile Commanders killed in the same period.

State and regional operations have recorded a number of battlefield successes. This should not be impacted by jihadist ambush/hit and run tactics common in asymmetric warfare environment.

Recommendation:
It is imperative for the Nigerian Military, regional MNJTF and civilian intervention to maintain the tempo of current operational coordination and focus on delivering effective intervention activities in the region.

Intelligence-led and coordinated ground and aerial strikes continue to weaken and destabilise the battlefield capacity of Boko Haram ISWAP factions operating in North East/West Nigeria; Sambisa Forest; the Mandara mountains and the axis of the Lake Chad Basin states.

In asymmetric warfare, kinetic efforts are not designed to produce a stand-alone sustainable solution. These significant security and military efforts ( despite existing challenges) should be complemented with equal inter(Multi) agency engagement from civilian driven local government, state , Federal ( National), and regional coordination— with particular focus on reclaiming ungoverned or partially governed spaces to prevent jihadist from benefiting by deploying hearts and minds activities — including fund raising and recruitment of vulnerable men and women into their depleted ranks

OPERATION HAIL STORM 2: AIR TASK FORCE NEUTRALIZES SCORES OF TERRORISTS, INFLICTS MASSIVE DAMAGE TO THEIR CAMPS AT TONGULE, BONE AND ISARI MUSA IN BORNO STATE

1. Air strikes being executed in Borno State by the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE under subsidiary Operation HAIL STORM 2 have continued to yield tangible results. The latest of these include the massive destruction of Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs’) Camps and neutralization of scores of their fighters in a night attack at Tongule on 24 September and daytime raids at Bone and Isari B Musa on 25 September 2020.

2. The strike on Tongule was undertaken after surveillance missions revealed continued assembly of the terrorists within the settlement at nighttime. Accordingly, the Air Task Force dispatched Nigerian Air Force (NAF) helicopter gunships for a night attack on the location, with their barrage of rockets neutralizing several of the terrorists.

3. Bone, a settlement along the Yale-Kumshe axis, on the other hand, was attacked by a force package of NAF fighter jets and helicopter gunships after credible intelligence reports established that the location served as a staging area from where the terrorists launch attacks. The NAF attack aircraft engaged the location in multiple bomb and rocket runs, destroying several of their structures and neutralizing scores of terrorists. Similarly, at Isari B Musa several terrorists, who were observed both within and in bushes surrounding the settlement, were taken out as the NAF attack aircraft took turns in engaging the target area.

Anybody going to Baga is definitely on a suicide mission. All those Island littered around Baga are occupied by ISWAP.

Magumeri, Gudzamala, Marte, Abadam and Kukawa na hit zone...

Even a bit better places like Ngala and Dikwa don begin dey see threat last week.

But let's continue killing the commanders according to Military media reports.
why do they now want to allow Baga Residence to resettle do they want to start seeing 100 people killed in Baga on the news...

They should rid the Entire lake Chad region and communities surrounding it before thinking of resettle..

What a country embarassed

This is one of the reasons why this war is here to stay. No recognition for Soldiers who died alongside their boss. What does it take to honour and recognise their gallantry alongside their Boss?

Some might have sacrificed their lives trying to defend him in that ambush.

Tufiakwa embarassed

I don stop to blame NCOs on this war shaaa when I started listening to their ordeals.

This war is here to stay shaaa. But we are killing 200 BH Commanders according to Enenche In the same day a barracks like Monguno with over 1800 soldiers is under attack grin

It's well cool

SDB 3 Building Underway In Naval Dockyard Limited

The Nigerian Navy over the decade develop expertise and embarked on design/building of ship and craft. With the present class of the Seaward Defence Boat (SDB3) which is a 43m steel vessel, a shift from aluminium to steel, therefore, the need for critical thinking in terms of Naval architectural design unlike what is common in this region of having ships made of Glass Reinforced Plastic and Aluminium. The research of being all steel vessel was particularly critical now because the SDB3 is the largest of the series and meant to be the best judging by what her roles are supposed to be. Most of her resources are steel, generated at NDL. The Hull is already completed and advancing into the outfitting stage with most of the outfitting equipment on ground. SDB3 is going to be quite appealing with sophisticated trappings

LANDMARK NAVAL VESSEL CONSTRUCTION
Naval Dockyard Limited have carved a niche in ship building technology. A vast community of dedicated Naval and civilian Engineers using technology to transform their country. NDL the only shipyard in West Africa that deals with military vessels construction. A high-grade Seaward Defence boat of intricate nature that goes as far as 40 nautical miles beyond the continental shelf which is 350 nautical miles. The Seaward Defence boats goes that far linking the offshore petrol vessels. An interface with short fast attacks crafts that can be used for quick reactions.
The idea behind this conception began in 2007 when NDL ventured into the act of building their own vessel instead of buying to reduce cost. It was not a military vessel at the time, but a cruise vessel named ‘SOKALAFIA’. Conceived and built at the Naval shipyard in Port Harcourt. The cruise vessel could ferry 90 personnel from their workplaces to the Navy town along the coast. It became evidence at that point that venturing into building military vessels was possible. And in 2009 the first in the Seaward Defence Series (SDB), a 30m vessel was successfully built and launched in 2011 called NNS ANDONI (P-100). In its effort to improve on SDB I, the Nigerian Navy desired having a bigger vessel as an improvement in its building capacity. This was how NNS KARADUWA (P-102) a 38m vessel, a lift jump from the 30m SDB 1 was built. Both vessels are still operating optimally at sea. The Nigerian Navy is presently at the verge of launching another vessel and expands their fleet. One made of steel, an advancement in its shipbuilding technologies.

it is worst than concern but heavily worrisome, even in deepest sleep outside war zone the army is expected to be prepared at all time, killing him easily in an ambush indicates clumsiness on our soldiers and shows that Boko haram are the one's technically defeating the Nigerian Army.
He succumbed to his wounds yesterday.
On Sunday during the Ambush he was Evacuated by NAF
