OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: SEVERAL BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS NEUTRALIZED AS AIR TASK FORCE INTENSIFIES AIR STRIKES IN BORNO STATE
1. In continuation of the intensive air interdiction missions being conducted as part of subsidiary Operation WUTAR TABKI, the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has neutralized several Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and destroyed some of their structures at Tsilala near Kaza in the Dikwa general area of Borno State. The air strikes were executed on 18 October 2020 after aerial surveillance missions showed significant number of terrorists and logistics items at the location. The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships dispatched by the Air Task Force took turns in engaging the location scoring accurate hits in the target area, resulting in the neutralization of several BHTs as well as the destruction of some of their structures.

kabe1: Model of Nigerian made Seaward Defence Boat on display, behind is the specifications sheet of the Epenal Gunboat.
Epenal Gunboats are the most widely used surface craft in service with the Nigerian navy. The navy currently has an estimated 500+ units in service. A bit of a mistake here the navy used the design of SeWa Gunboat to represent Epenal Gunboat. Epenal doesn't have a rail at the front,And also had two side windows. |

SamuelAnyawu: The Airforce should just hold on for now and conduct a joint massive operation with the Nigeria Army.
Bombings without mop up operations will remain just a scratch on this Insurgents. We need to have boots on ground to send these guys to their creators in high numbers.
We need a joint operation fast in Northern Borno. yeah it's very much effective than solo ops.. |

Toju200: The Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has neutralized several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) elements and destroyed their hideouts at Tudun Wulgo and Tumbun Gini on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State. This was achieved through air strikes executed yesterday, 15 October 2020, as part of a new subsidiary Operation, tagged “WUTAR TABKI”, after series of aerial surveillance missions had indicated that the 2 locations, with structures and logistics items camouflaged under the dense vegetation, were being used as staging areas where some ISWAP leaders and their fighters meet to plan and launch attacks. Accordingly, the Air Task Force dispatched a force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships to engage the 2 locations. The attack aircraft scored devastating hits in the target areas, destroying some structures and neutralizing several of the terrorists. JOHN ENENCHE

Faithful007: I agreed with your positon not long ago, but changed my mind. A lot of people still need to be jailed for crimes against humanity, so peaceful protests can continue. I totally understand you sir. You're right a lot of people needs to be jailed for their crimes,so was the peaceful protest supposed to be #EndSars or #EndPoliceBrutality. Fine the Protested #EndSars which had effect and IGP acted. Someone on Tweeter said the SARS office close to his/ her home has been shut down till further notice and the Name SARS has been Cleaned off and Renamed NPF. Even today my mum went to the Market and she told me no single police officers are on the road only VIOs unlike before. If they actually want the killers brought to book it would have been #EndPoliceBrutality #ReformThePolice Because 1.End SARS may not be the answer they are still police officers and when drafted to perhaps other units they may likely commit their atrocities so the police needs overhaul. Even segalinks has said the protests should end and every one calm down. I'm not against the protests but the protesters should at least calm down. They wanted SARS to end it's finally ended . |

I tried checking it out again. Seems NPF has shut it down.
This protest is starting to piss me off. What else do the protesters want again.. Haven't they ended the SARS They should stop it unless it will be chaotic in a few days if continued |

BabaOwen: President Muhammadu Buhari has rejected a request from the Nigerian Army to quell ongoing #EndSARS protests with soldiers, Peoples Gazette can report, on the account that such approach could backfire.
Mr. Buhari said heavily armed soldiers with directive to open fire should be the last resort — if at all they’ll be considered — because of the spontaneous and elaborate nature of the ongoing pushback against decades police brutality, according to a presidency and two military sources briefed on the matter Wednesday night.
Our sources said Mr. Buratai and some of his generals are increasingly furious that #EndSARS protesters have refused to stand down.
He sought the president’s permission to deploy soldiers to disperse protesters and take over demonstration grounds in Lagos and Abuja, a senior administration official told the Gazette shortly after 11:00 p.m.
The official said Mr. Buhari fear that the protests could grow bigger if any attempt is made to use soldiers to violently suppress it.
“The president is wary of escalating the situation,” our source said. “He does not want this to backfire because there are many locations that protests are holding across the country.”
Chief of staff Ibrahim Gambari was amongst those who advised the president against troops deployment.
National security adviser Babagana Monguno did not take part in the meeting but a source said he would be briefed. The Gazette has yet to establish whether or not the NSA was briefed, and a telephone number for him did not immediately connect Wednesday night.
Mr. Buratai’s proposal followed a week-long demonstration that has refused to wane despite government acceding to some of the key requests from the protesters.
On Sunday, police chief Mohammed Adamu announced immediate abolition of the special anti-robbery squad, a police detective unit whose decades of corruption and ruthlessness sparked the world-famous hashtag.
He also announced a new unit that would replace the defunct brutal squad.
Mr. Buhari in additional repeatedly assured that his administration would take police reforms more seriously, but urged protesters to embrace dialogue around a sustainable solution.
The protesters have declined to end the campaign until at least five fundamental issues that border on citizens’ rights and restitution thousands of SARS victims.
But top government and security appointees of the president are seething and “now itching” to do something immediately.
Their desperation followed several advises that they have given the president over the past week; including some without any form of law enforcement intervention.
A military source said the president and his key insiders are reluctant to take a straight position because they are still learning to understand the main actors of the protests.
“The president may still be asking for time to better understand the protesters first,” a military brass-hat told the Gazette. “But the president recognises that these categories of protesters are not the same as members of the Shiite sect.”
