NuclearBomber: Nigeria bought the highest spec of the VT-4 tanks. Ours is the most expensive at over $5million each because it is Full options with added enhancements, specified by our armoured experts. I can confirm that ours is Far higher that the Pakistani version. Don't ask my source, just take what I said. The choice and specifications was done by the Ministry of Defence; so this is not a crap army procurement. There are loads of more contracts that are not even public, including the Future Nigerian Frigate program, that is top notch. oh Guy u too is aware of the frigate program... |

I know it's under MNJTF... But NAF is planning to have an overseas base in Niger.. NAF alpha jet has been operating from Niger since our Mali deployment |

kabe1: I agree that the next hotspot on the global war on terror is the Sahel.
The fact about the matter is, Nigeria would never allow a foreign military base in the country.
The Nigerian president that would make the mistake of doing that would be impeached and imprisoned.
The United States already has a huge military presence in Africa, with permanent bases in Kenya, Djibouti and Niger. They can also use French bases in Chad, Ivory Coast and Mali. thank u... Nigeria will not allow any foreign military base... From what I've read some of the Tucano will be deployed to Niger one of our AFB we are setting up there.... Two alpha jets are already there |

komekn: There is nothing to agree or disagree.
The terrain of the NE is quite diverse there are parts covered with thick shrubs as is normal in the Savannah and if you are talking Sambisa then its almost impossible for wide open spaces to be found and parts that are wide open but it varies.
But do you really need air assets in that environment with wide open spaces or definitive IFV's with RWS, LAV's, etc in good numbers to chase down Boko in search and destroy.
This $600 million package we paid for something with very limited use considering the multiple far better alternatives is huge waste of money IMO and will have limited capacity.
Niger has the A29 what difference has it made for them Quite disturbing is Ghana has bought them A29's but paid considerably less than us why eeee get as be. We didn't pay 600mil for the Tucano and secondly Our neighbors hardly carry out Airstrikes against BHT so you can judge the Tucano using Niger as an example.Take Afghanistan as an example bro. If Ghana paid less for tucano so what it isn't the same package we're receiving with them don't u get... We're talking about The APWK or whatever it's called.. First of it's kind in the region and possibly Africa |

komekn: First of all because you do not know, do not presume everyone is like you.
Secondly him being stupid is your opinion not mine I didn't say he's stupid but for u to bring these ur lame opinions most times and at this point in time makes the commander looks as if he doesn't know what he's doing |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Toju200(m): 3:39pm On Apr 28, 2020 |
komekn: I am somewhat perplexed.
From my understanding Boko are very fluid moving from place to place not really having permanent basis in the first instance. That being the case and considering the type of weaponry they have,( predominant;y light weapons and HMG Gun trucks) why is the NA not getting , Up Close and personal straight into their camp and taking them out.
When an enemy is bunkered down firing rockets has only limited effect. why do always feel u know best... I know now you'll say it just your opinion but sorry to break it to you bro... It's a stupid one... You're always complaining over everything. So the commanders that insisted on the artillery firing is stupid abi |

[quote author=bidexiii post=88938689] It’s depends the type of target ? If you have a fleeing enemy or enemy advancing fast towards your position. Likewise if your target is just in a fixed position, all this will determine how you prosecute your target. This RM-70 is actually firing simultaneously; I know I was trying to make his question understandable |

bidexiii: It’s not slow, probably it’s the video dragging kind of ? Rockets system are powered by a rocket motor that drives them. If you’ve actually noticed when rockets are lunched i:e MLRS rockets gradually come off the pad slowly, and gain most of their speed/momentum later. what he meant was why wasn't the artillery firing simultaneously fast... |

BlackBaron: Tsaigumi has never been shown conducting reconnaissance since commissioning. I'll eat my hat if Ichoku is anything closer to reality than words they keep releasing.
Some of the drones able to do their work efficiently rely on IP, technology and patents we don't even seem to have access to. We could get there via R& D but takes significant money, years of experience and the best brains. maybe she's not deployed to NE but I heard a few of the Drones will be stationed I'm Calabar AFB,Kaduna too.. |

BlackBaron: Hmmn. If Uavision is entry level. I don't know what to call this new partners they got. In other words, I hope the new guys are up to task. I have read development history of some countries drone programmes and they are very challenging and painstaking.
Knowing Nigeria and not having time for patience, let's hope they'll get all the time they need.
Also this means Tsaugaimi was just a farce? Nope..... Tsaigumi isn't a farce... We just want to look further and deeper into UAV technology.. By the the y'all know they are working on the Ichoku combat drone...So....let them do wat they do |
