If you need to VERIFY your US account with a US number in a legit way, quote me or send a PM.

NB: This isn't FREE, though CHEAP.

All the best!

Okay...Thanks.

Do you suggest I park it with Bodis for a while before advertising for sales.

Meanwhile, just grabbed a thought in this; would I be requested to give details of the registered email to a domain to the buyer?

expertix:
You can also try namerific.com for your brand name.
If you cannot afgord submssion to BB you can stay with afternic they are both good but BB is mainly for brand names sales while afternic can aswell sell any names.

This is my first exposure to BrandBucket...Thanks.

However, I realise they charge $10 for domain listing and about 30% sales commission...Isn't that too much?

Do you suggest I push for BrandBucket against Afternic and Bodis?

expertix:
Try to learn the correct business keyword. You mean you just registered? The domain is a brandable one you can try to submit it to brandbucket if they accept it, it will sell. Cheers and good luck.

As it really been awhile that I do withdrawal via ATM...i do sell my payoneer funds to people here.
BusinessRe: What To Do To Make Money Online? by tolajay: 12:04pm On Apr 09, 2017
Registered the domain with doteasy.com for $5. They're currently running a promo.

I've got my Nigerian details up now. No more privacy mode.

Thanks

expertix:
Which registrar is that? How much did you registered the name ? I can also see that you used foreign address on the name are you not in Nigeria? You need to remove the domain name from privacy if you intend to sell it for easy contact. Cheers.
BusinessRe: What To Do To Make Money Online? by tolajay: 6:57am On Apr 08, 2017
Thanks for the advice. I'll do as directed.

For the industry terminology, I understand that register is the most apt word to be used. But the as at the time of posting, the registrar was yet to confirm and activate the domain, hence, the choice of 'booked' against 'registered'.

Cheerios!

Technically, "btc" is the fairly used version of "BTC". grin grin

So therefore, BTC is the globally recognised abbreviation for Bitcoin.

Bros/Sist, e don do nau. You keep raising dust that you can't curtail. I've read your back and forth conversations for over a week.

Isn't it just noble that you either abide by the prevailing rules or stick to your style and acquire customers who'll be cool with your operational style.

The wars you're getting involved with won't even motivate potential customers to transact with you.

Wisdom is profitable...Silence presents you as (un)folly.

Yet another joker.

The only person I would take serious is Seun or any of the moderators.

You all are bunch of jokes.

Can you state reasons why they should not exchange with me, but should exchange with the so called "trusted exchangers".

Lol.

What you guys don't know is that, your so called "trusted exchangers" can oneday wakeup and decide to close shop, and scam all his
clients that have trusted him. Your trusted exchanger is a human being as well.
WebmastersRe: Nigerian Or Foreign Host Company? by tolajay(op): 5:42pm On Apr 02, 2017
Thanks for the thought.

I currently host some domains on WhoGoHost, sometimes the service is good at other times, it's crappy.

Top most of my worry is the support system...Buh wetin man go do?

Afam4eva:
It's your choice to make.

There's no gain saying that foreign hosts have a better quality of service on the average.

But like you said, the rate of the dollar keeps flunctuating. If it's not a problem for you then go ahead and host with a good foreign host.

if it's a problem, there are still some Nigerian hosts that are ok. Personally, i use whogohost for now until the dollar improves.
WebmastersNigerian Or Foreign Host Company? by tolajay(op): 12:58pm On Apr 02, 2017
Need Your Thoughts/Advice.

I am about hosting some domains, but contemplating whether or not to choose a Nigerian hosting company.

My experience with some Nigerian hosting company is that they are unstable, unpredictable and all that.

For the foreign platforms, I can trust a couple of them but for the ever flunctuating rate of the dollar.

What do you advice?

PropertiesRe: House Fellowship Leader Caught On Camera Stealing Laptops At Protea Hotel Ikeja by tolajay: 5:19pm On Mar 31, 2017
So excited about his arrest.

Had a close experience at Planet One some years back.

My Macbook Pro laptop was almost stolen but got damaged during a lunch break of the workshop I was attending.

We expected that the room will be locked, so everyone left his/her laptops and valuables. We returned only to find the screen of my laptop broken and fallen on it back.

I raised an alarm, informed the workshop organisers. After much thinking, I concluded it was someone trying to make away with it but couldn't when s/he heard foot steps, leading to the sudden drop and breakage.

I requested that we see the CCTV footage, but the hotel management said no, that they can vouch it's none of their staffs...I really got mad with this and was willing to take them up to any extent.

After much draggings, the event organisers pleaded that I drop the push and they'll foot the repair bills. Unfortunately, they didn't.

People are just evil-driven.

Interesting!

Is freelancing your full time work?

Mrdigitech:
lol...I must tell you, I live in fear of the inevitable each day, especially with regards to my U.S Upwork account. The video verification step is now a standard requirement for all new accounts or profiles (verified info from Upwork forum). However, I doubt if that current wave of verification or account suspension hammering foreign, dodgy profiles will happen to me anytime soon. The U.S account I'm operating is about 11 months old with more than 50 projects completed. It has a Top Rated badge and a JSS of 98%. I have only used a single IP address in accessing this account. I never made the mistake of logging in with the wrong IP. I Used a white man's picture initially but then changed to my real picture a few months back. So I can do skype with clients and video chat with support without fear. However, I encourage people to use their genuine profile and location. It pays in the long run. Imagine having taken time to build a stellar, money-spitting profile, only to lose it due to false location or identity. I wish I could just migrate my profile the way it is to fly the Nigerian flag, so I could live happily ever after, but then I remember my faulty foundation. The IRS of U.S have already threatened me through Upwork early this year for wrong W-9 info, I am clueless on what to do. In fact that made me change my profile picture to my real one as I was afraid of identity verification and I also wanted migrate country location in a bid to avoid the IRS hammer. As cumulative earnings increase, the IRS will beam its search light on you, especially those working with U.S profiles. Upwork acted indifferently towards me on this issue, telling me to make changes to my W9 and avoid fines from the IRS. For Naija Upworkers in my shoes, it's a matter time before we all get shot down. If there is one country you should avoid when faking profile (I dont encourage it) please avoid U.S profiles. The beginning is sweet but the end is extremely bitter. Be Warned!!!

My brethen, brace up yourselves. Upwork is upon you if you're using a phony (foreign) account.

My new US account which is barely 1 week old has been marked for video verification. Apparently, I'm still a Nigerian male with a virtual US feminine citizenship.

Na so the account go ooo with my expected 15 dollars.
BusinessRe: Elance.com, Upwork.com And Other Freelancing Site: How To Succeed Guide. by tolajay: 11:18pm On Mar 30, 2017
I know what that means. But get ready, you will be unable to send proposals and withdraw any money. After which your account will be suspended. If you do not speak up, they'll deactivate it.

All the best.

Mrdigitech:
lol... My brother man must survive ooh, albeit legally. Well, I want to migrate my account back home but Upwork needs special documentation to do that, especially if you have a U.S account. The only other option is closing the account. I can't afford to do that at this time of recession. My resolve is to milk and enjoy it while it lasts.

Thanks.

Any idea on the current rate of Payoneer if I'm withdrawing from a Nigerian ATM and what are the procedures?

kaycodes:
Well, it's good to check all the options you have. Depending on the amount you're withdrawing you can do your calculations on what will get to you finally and make your decisions from there. It's all about margin. As for me, exchangers are a no no for now until upwork rates change.

Need your insight.

Upwork sent my funds to my Payoneer account just before I could snap myself to change my payment method to the local transfer method.

Here's it; This is my first receipt of funds on my Payoneer account since I got it in 2015. How do I go about withdrawal here in Nigeria?

Also, what's the current Payoneer withdrawal rate? Would you advise that I change from Payoneer to Local Transfer due to the exchange rate?

Awesome perspective.

Could you please give more insight into the direct application procedure through portfolio websites other than through freelancing platforms.

Got a personal website.

Exoticstan:
Thanks for this. I have also hammered on the relevance of using irresistible quality as a weapon of global freelancing success.

I'd want to point out that success as a Nigerian will be "easier" as a web developer or e-commerce expert than as a freelance writer of the English language, and for apparent reasons. These, notwithstanding, due to persistence in delivering native-level quality content in English, I have had the privilege of editing, proofreading and writing for the owners of English themselves both in Australia, US and UK.

To add to this, Upwork sends me a special job invitation every month, an arrangement that sees me pocket at least N100,000 each time I complete the jobs. I currently have clients that pay me ahead of time, and with steady work which adds up. I even chat with some on Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp!!! That's how much they will appreciate good service.

As has been stated, invest in yourself first. I didn't have to struggle because I had excellent English teachers from KG1 - SSS3. You may have to pay to learn your chosen skill but be certain it WILL pay.

LAST ADVICE: Get a small portfolio website and apply to companies directly. At the end of the day, the ultimate goal of freelancing is FREEDOM.

Freedom from 20% deductions and rules that don't always favour you.

Regards!!!

BusinessRe: Elance.com, Upwork.com And Other Freelancing Site: How To Succeed Guide. by tolajay: 11:54pm On Mar 28, 2017
Not so sir...This goes beyond perceptual reflection.

Top English Speaking doesn't imply Top Native User. That's only a reference to speech community size.

In linguistic analysis, you're only referred to as a Native user of a language if that's the first you had contact with...That's called Language Acquisition [Mother Tongue].

On the flip end, you can be a fluent/conversational or anything else in a language that you've not naturally acquired but learned over time...That's Language Learning [ Second Language or Father Tongue grin -NVM].

So, Bro, answer these questions;

1. What was the first language you learnt to communicate with?

2. How many years did you learn the intricacies and grammatical dynamics of the English language, which I suppose you're still learning?

3. How many times did you fail English Language as a subject before our prayer was answered over you? grin

Sure you know that English isn't Nigeria's lingual franca, compared to Native English countries like the UK.

Therefore, let's not deceive ourselves, we ain't Native English users. Not even with our thick akpu accent. Abi why you think Nigerians need to write IELTES to gain admission into foreign institutions.

BTW, you need to hear me speak pho-ne and you'll realise some of us though Nigerians are born Briton...Thanks to social migration.

All the best!

samtobi:
Well, that is for you my brother. As a man thinks in his heart so he is.

Do your research, Nigeria falls among the top 5 list of English speaking countries.

Stop looking down on yourself and brace up.
